The phase equilibria relationship of the system RbCl-PEG6000-H2O were investigated at temperatures of 288.2,298.2,and 308.2 K,the compositions of solid-liquid equilibria(SLE)and liquid-liquid equilibria(LLE)were determined.The complete phase diagrams,binodal curve diagrams,and tie-line diagrams were all plotted.Results show that both solid-liquid equilibria and liquid-liquid equilibria relationships at each studied temperature.The complete phase diagrams at 288.2 K,298.2 K and 308.2 K consist of six phase regions:unsaturated liquid region(L),two saturated solutions with one solid phase of RbCl(L_S),one saturated liquid phase with two solid phases of PEG6000 and RbCl(2S+L),an aqueous two-phase region(2L),and a region with two liquids and one solid phase of RbCl(2L_S).With the increase in temperature,the layering ability of the aqueous two-phase system increases,and both regions(2L)and(2L_S)increase.The binodal curves were fitted using the nonlinear equations proposed by Mistry,Hu,and Jayapal.Additionally,the tie-line data were correlated with the Othmer-Tobias,Bancroft,Hand,and Bachman equations.The liquid-liquid equilibria at 288.2 K,298.2 K and 308.2 K were calculated using the NRTL model.The findings confirm that the experimental and calculated values are in close agreement,demonstrating the model’s effectiveness in representing the system’s behavior. 展开更多

Mg-Zn-Mn alloys have the advantages of low cost,excellent mechanical properties,and high corrosion resistance.To clarify the phase equilibria of Mg-Zn-Mn alloy in the Mg-rich corners,the present work experimentally investigated the phase equilibria in the Mg-rich corner at 300-400°C with equilibrated alloy method using electron probe micro analyzer(EPMA),X-ray diffractometer(XRD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),and differential scanning calorimeter(DSC).Mn atoms were found to dissolve into MgZn_(2) to form a ternary solid-solution type compound,in which Mn content can be up to 15.1at%at 400°C.Three-phase equilibrium ofα-Mg+MgZn_(2)+α-Mn and liquid+α-Mg+MgZn_(2) were confirmed at 400°C.Subsequently,thermodynamic modeling of the Mg-Zn-Mn system was carried out using the CALPHAD method based on the experimental data of this work and literature data.The calculated invariant reaction Liquid+α-Mn→α-Mg+MgZn_(2) at 430°C shows good agreement with the DSC results.In addition,the results of solidification path calculations explain the microstructure in the ascast and annealed alloys well.The agreement between the calculated results and experimental data proves the self-consistency of the thermodynamic database,which can provide guidance for the compositional design of Mg-Zn-Mn alloys. 展开更多

CKF phase noise suppression algorithm of using the polynomial interpolation for CO-OFDM systems

A novel suppression method of the phase noise is proposed to reduce the negative impacts of phase noise in coherent optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(CO-OFDM)systems.The method integrates the sub-symbol second-order polynomial interpolation(SSPI)with cubature Kalman filter(CKF)to improve the precision and effectiveness of the data processing through using a three-stage processing approach of phase noise.First of all,the phase noise values in OFDM symbols are calculated by using pilot symbols.Then,second-order Newton interpolation(SNI)is used in second-order interpolation to acquire precise noise estimation.Afterwards,every OFDM symbol is partitioned into several sub-symbols,and second-order polynomial interpolation(SPI)is utilized in the time domain to enhance suppression accuracy and time resolution.Ultimately,CKF is employed to suppress the residual phase noise.The simulation results show that this method significantly suppresses the impact of the phase noise on the system,and the error floors can be decreased at the condition of 16 quadrature amplitude modulation(16QAM)and 32QAM.The proposed method can greatly improve the CO-OFDM system's ability to tolerate the wider laser linewidth.This method,compared to the linear interpolation sub-symbol common phase error compensation(LI-SCPEC)and Lagrange interpolation and extended Kalman filter(LRI-EKF)algorithms,has superior suppression effect. 展开更多

In this paper,we study the orthogonal time frequency space signal transmission over multi-path channel in the presence of phase noise(PHN)at both sides of millimeter wave(mmWave)communication links.The statistics characteristics of the PHN-induced common phase error and inter-Doppler interference are investigated.Then,a column-shaped pilot structure is designed,and training pilots are used to realize linear-complexity PHN tracking and compensation.Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed scheme enables the signal to noise ratio loss to be restrained within 1 dB in contrast to the no PHN case. 展开更多

Adaptable deep learning for holographic microscopy:a case study on tissue type and system variability in label-free histopathology

Holographic microscopy has emerged as a vital tool in biomedicine,enabling visualization of microscopic morphological features of tissues and cells in a label-free manner.Recently,deep learning(DL)-based image reconstruction models have demonstrated state-of-the-art performance in holographic image reconstruction.However,their utility in practice is still severely limited,as conventional training schemes could not properly handle out-of-distribution data.Here,we leverage backpropagation operation and reparameterization of the forward propagator to enable an adaptable image reconstruction model for histopathologic inspection.Only given with a training dataset of rectum tissue images captured from a single imaging configuration,our scheme consistently shows high reconstruction performance even with the input hologram of diverse tissue types at different pathological states captured under various imaging configurations.Using the proposed adaptation technique,we show that the diagnostic features of cancerous colorectal tissues,such as dirty necrosis,captured with 5×magnification and a numerical aperture(NA)of 0.1,can be reconstructed with high accuracy,whereas a given training dataset is strictly confined to normal rectum tissues acquired under the imaging configuration of 20×magnification and an NA of 0.4.Our results suggest that the DL-based image reconstruction approaches,with sophisticated adaptation techniques,could offer an extensively generalizable solution for inverse mapping problems in imaging. 展开更多

Experimental study of methane hydrate formation and rheological behavior in gas-water-sand system

During the production of natural gas hydrates,micron-sized sand particles coexist with hydrate within the transportation pipeline,posing a significant threat to the safety of pipeline flow.However,the influence of sand particles on hydrate formation mechanisms and rheological properties remains poorly understood.Consequently,using a high-pressure reactor system,the phase equilibrium conditions,hydrate formation characteristics,hydrate concentration,and the slurry viscosity in micron-sized sand system are investigated in this work.Furthermore,the effects of sand particle size,sand concentration,and initial pressure on these properties are analyzed.The results indicate that a high concentration of micron-sized sand particles enhances the formation of methane hydrates.When the volume fraction of sand particles exceeds or equals 3%,the phase equilibrium conditions of the methane hydrate shift to the left relative to that of the pure water system(lower temperature,higher pressure).This shift becomes more pronounced with smaller particle sizes.Besides,under these sand concentration conditions,methane hydrates exhibit secondary or even multiple formation events,though the formation rate decreases.Additionally,the torque increases significantly and fluctuates considerably.The Roscoe-Brinkman model yields the most accurate slurry viscosity calculations,and as sand concentration increases,both hydrate concentration and slurry viscosity also increase. 展开更多

As an important strategic reserve resource,the comprehensive development and utilization of Nanyishan oil-gas field brine will bring great economic and social value.Here,according to the composition characteristics of this oil-gas field brine being rich in lithium,potassium and strontium,the solid-liquid stable phase equilibria and phase diagrams of Li-containing quaternary system(LiBr-MgBr_(2)-SrBr_(2)-H_(2)O)and two quinary systems(LiBr-NaBr-MgBr_(2)-SrBr_(2)-H_(2)O and LiBr-KBr-MgBr_(2)-SrBr_(2)-H_(2)O)were studied at 298.15 K.Based on the results of phase equilibrium experimental research,the phase equilibrium relationship and crystallization-dissolution behavior of each component in liquid phase were revealed theoretically,and the changing trend was summarized.Using theoretical model of Pitzer electrolyte solution,the relevant interaction parameters of mixed ions at 298.15 K were obtained by fitting experimental data,and the solubility reaching equilibrium of various salts in above systems was calculated,and the experimental results were verified.The research results of this paper lay an important foundation for further theoretical study of multi-temperature phase equilibrium and thermodynamic properties of complex brine system in the later stage.Meanwhile,it provides basic thermodynamic data and theoretical guidance for the rational development and comprehensive utilization of this oil-gas field brine resources. 展开更多

High-temperature phase change materials(PCMs)have attracted significant attention in the field of thermal energy storage due to their ability to store and release large amounts of heat within a small temperature fluctuation range.However,their practical application is limited due to problems such as leakage,corrosion,and volume changes at high temperatures.Recent research has shown that macroencapsulation technology holds promise in addressing these issues.This paper focuses on the macroencapsulation technology of high-temperature PCMs,starting with a review of the classification and development history of high-temperature macroencapsulatd PCMs.Four major encapsulation strategies,including electroplating method,solid/liquid filling method,sacrificial material method,and powder compaction into sphere method,are then summarized.The methods for effectively addressing issues such as corrosion,leakage,supercooling,and phase separation in PCMs are analyzed,along with approaches for improving the heat transfer performance,mechanical strength,and thermal cycling stability of macrocapsules.Subsequently,the structure and packing arrangement optimization of macrocapsules in thermal storage systems is discussed in detail.Finally,after comparing the performance of various encapsulation strategies and summarizing existing issues,the current technical challenges,improvement methods,and future development directions are proposed.More attention should be given to utilizing AI technology and reinforcement learning to reveal the multiphysics-coupled heat and mass transfer mechanisms in macrocapsule applications,as well as to optimize material selection and encapsulation parameters,thereby enhancing the overall efficiency of thermal storage systems. 展开更多

The phase transformation of galena in H_(2)SO_(4)-Fe_(2)(SO_(4))_(3) system under oxygen pressure was investigated.Results indicated that the critical conditions for the phase transformation of galena into lead jarosite(Pb-J)were 130℃,30 g/L H_(2)SO_(4),15 g/L Fe^(3+),and an oxygen partial pressure of 0.4 MPa.Furthermore,increased Fe^(3+)concentration and oxygen partial pressure did not enhance jarosite formation.Conversely,lowering the temperature and increasing the H_(2)SO_(4) concentration facilitated PbSO_(4) formation and inhibited its further conversion to Pb-J.Additionally,the effects of potassium sulfate,sodium sulfate,and high concentrations of zinc sulfate on the phase transformation of galena were examined through leaching tests,XRD,SEM-EDS,and FT-IR analyses.All three sulfates inhibited the conversion of galena to Pb-J.Among these,potassium sulfate prevented Pb-J formation and converted it more thoroughly into potassium jarosite.However,high concentrations of zinc sulfate facilitated the crystallization of both PbSO_(4) and Pb-J,which altered the morphology of the product.Zinc ions coprecipitated with Pb-J,thereby integrating into the product. 展开更多

Multi-component polymer systems exhibit exceptional versatility and structural diversity,making them indispensable in the polymer industry as well as in advanced and high performance applications.However,constructing accurate phase diagrams for these systems remains challenging due to inhomogeneous structures arising from the introduction of block copolymer components.Here,we present a unified and model-agnostic framework for computing phase equilibria in multi-component polymeric systems based on the concept of“effective chemical potential”.This approach directly connects key thermodynamic variables in the canonical ensemble to other ensembles,unifying phase coexistence determination without requiring the reformulation of self-consistent field theory(SCFT)calculations across different ensembles.By decoupling phase equilibrium determination from specific ensemble formulations,our approach enables the reuse of existing SCFT solvers.Moreover,it provides a useful framework to develop highly efficient phase equilibrium solvers for multi-component polymer systems. 展开更多

Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces(RISs)with the capability of nearly passive beamforming,have recently sparked considerable interests.This paper presents an energy-efficient discrete phase encoding method for RIS-assisted communication systems.Firstly,the beamforming gain,power consumption and energy efficiency models for the RIS-assisted system are illustrated.On this basis,the discrete phase encoding problem is formulated for the purpose of improving the energy efficiency,under the power constraint and the quality-of-service(QoS)requirement.According to the interrelation between the phase encoding and power consumption,a three-step encoding method is proposed with the capability of customizing the beamforming gain,power consumption,and energy efficiency.Simulation results indicate that the proposed method is capable of achieving a more favorable performance in terms of satisfying the QoS demand,reducing the power consumption,and improving the energy efficiency.Furthermore,two field trials at 35 GHz evidence the superiority performance and feasibility characteristics of the proposed method in real environment.This work may provide a reference for future applications of RIS-assisted system with an energy-efficient manner. 展开更多

Topological invariants are crucial for characterizing topological systems.However,experimentally measuring them presents a significant challenge,especially in non-Hermitian systems where the biorthogonal eigenvectors are often necessary.We propose a general approach for measuring the topological invariants of one-dimensional non-Hermitian systems,which can be derived from the spin textures of right eigenstates.By utilizing a dilation method,we realize a non-Hermitian system without chiral symmetry on a two-qubit nuclear magnetic resonance system and measure the winding number associated with the eigenstates.In addition to examining the topology of the eigenstates,our experiment also reveals the topological structure of the energy band,which differs from that in chiral systems.Our work paves the way for further exploration of complex topological properties in non-Hermitian systems without chiral symmetry. 展开更多

Systematic Review of Phase Aberration Correction Algorithms for Transcranial Focused Ultrasound

Transcranial focused ultrasound(tFUS)is an emerging modality with strong potential for non-invasively treating brain disorders.However,the inhomogeneity and complex structure of the skull induce substantial phase aberrations and pressure attenuation;these can distort and shift the acoustic focus,thus hindering the efficiency of tFUS therapy.To achieve effective treatments,phased array transducers combined with aberration correction algorithms are commonly implemented.The present report aims to provide a comprehensive review of the current methods used for tFUS phase aberration correction.We first searched the PubMed and Web of Science databases for studies on phase aberration correction algorithms,identifying 54 articles for review.Relevant information,including the principles of algorithms and refocusing performances,were then extracted from the selected articles.The phase correction algorithms involved two main steps:acoustic field estimation and transmitted pulse adjustment.Our review identified key benchmarks for evaluating the effectiveness of these algorithms,each of which was used in at least three studies.These benchmarks included pressure and intensity,positioning error,focal region size,peak sidelobe ratio,and computational efficiency.Algorithm performances varied under different benchmarks,thus highlighting the importance of application-specific algorithm selection for achieving optimal tFUS therapy outcomes.The present review provides a thorough overview and comparison of various phase correction algorithms,and may offer valuable guidance to tFUS researchers when selecting appropriate phase correction algorithms for specific applications. 展开更多

The enrichment of low-grade phosphate rock is an important process to realize sustainable support of phosphorus resources. An aqueous solution containing Ca(NO_(3))_(2) and Mg(NO_(3))_(2) is produced during the enrichment of low-grade phosphate rock by leaching of HNO_(3) or calcination coupling with leaching of NH_(4)NO_(3) solution. Preparation liquid fertilizer is a preferential way to utilize it. The liquid−solid phase diagrams of Ca(NO_(3))_(2)-Mg(NO_(3))_(2)-H_(2)O, KNO_(3)-Mg(NO_(3))_(2)-H_(2)O, KNO_(3)-Ca(NO_(3))_(2)-H_(2)O and KNO_(3)-Ca(NO_(3))_(2)-Mg(NO_(3))_(2)-H_(2)O systems at 313.15 K were studied by isothermal dissolution equilibrium method. Two crystallization regions of Ca(NO_(3))_(2)·4H_(2)O and Mg(NO_(3))_(2)·6H_(2)O were observed in the phase diagram of the ternary system Ca(NO_(3))_(2)-Mg(NO_(3))_(2)-H_(2)O, a liquid fertilizer with a maximal total nutrient content of 27.46% and a nutrients ratio of N:Ca:Mg = 8.40:10.37:1 can be formed. A homogenous solution can be formed by mixing Ca(NO_(3))_(2)·4H_(2)O and Mg(NO_(3))_(2)·6H_(2)O. In the ternary system KNO_(3)-Mg(NO_(3))_(2)-H_(2)O, the crystallization regions of KNO_(3), Mg(NO_(3))_(2)·6H_(2)O and the co-crystallization region of KNO_(3) and Mg(NO_(3))_(2)·6H_(2)O were observed. The obtained maximal total nutrient content of liquid fertilizer is 23.32% with the ratio of N:K_(2)O = 1:3.39. In the ternary system KNO_(3)-Ca(NO_(3))_(2)-H_(2)O, the crystallization regions of Ca(NO_(3))_(2)·4H_(2)O and KNO_(3) were observed. The obtained maximal total nutrient content of liquid fertilizer is 38.41% with the ratio of N:K_(2)O:Ca = 1.05:1.18:1. A homogenous solution can also be formed by mixing Ca(NO_(3))_(2)·4H_(2)O and KNO_(3) directly. In the quaternary system KNO_(3)-Ca(NO_(3))_(2)-Mg(NO_(3))_(2)-H_(2)O, the crystallization regions of Ca(NO_(3))_(2)·4H_(2)O, Mg(NO_(3))_(2)·6H_(2)O and KNO_(3) and the co-crystallization region of KNO_(3) and Mg(NO_(3))_(2)·6H_(2)O were observed. The obtained maximal total nutrient content of liquid fertilizer is 38.41% with the ratio of N:K_(2)O:Ca = 1.05:1.18:1. The modified BET model was successfully used to fit the solubility curves. Numerical Study on Natural Circulation System under Various Cooling Mediums

Aiming at the global design issue of transpiration cooling thermal protection system,a self-driven circulation loop is proposed as the internal coolant flow passage for the transpiration cooling structure to achieve adaptive cooling.To enhance the universality of this internal cooling pipe design and facilitate its application,numerical studies are conducted on this systemwith four commonly used cooling mediums as coolant.Firstly,the accuracy of the numerical method is verified through an established experimental platform.Then,transient numerical simulations are performed on the flow states of different cooling mediums in the new self-circulation system.Based on the numerical result,the flow,phase change,and heat transfer characteristics of different cooling mediums are analyzed.Differences in fluid velocity and latent heat of phase change result in significant variation in heat exchange capacity among different coolingmediums,with the maximumdifference reaching up to 3 times.Besides,faster circulation speed leads to greater heat transfer capacity,with a maximum of 7600 W/m^(2).Consequently,the operating mechanism and cooling laws of the natural circulation system is further investigated,providing a reference for the practical application of this system. 展开更多

Regarding the metallurgical considerations and the melting points of Ti-Mn-Fe eutectic alloy and Ni-Co-V ternary alloy,a Ti-Mn-Fe-Ni-Co-V senary system filler metal was proposed for joining TiAl-based alloy.The senary filler alloy consisted of TiFe,TiMn and Ti-based solid solution phases.It exhibited the liquidus temperatures of 1110.8℃and a contact angle of 37°on TiAl alloy after heating at 1110℃for 10 min.The brazed joint was composed of B2,γ-TiAl andα_(2)-Ti_(3)Al as well as residual brazing filler reaction phase.With increasing brazing temperature or prolonging dwell time,joint thickness andγ-TiAl phase volume fraction increased.The brazing condition of 1180℃/45 min gave theγ-TiAl phase content of 21.6 vol.%within the joint and the joint thickness of 270μm,and the maximum joint tensile strength reached 488 MPa at ambient temperature,with the joint strength coefficient of 82.7%.The joints offered tensile strength of 521 MPa at 700℃and 498 MPa at 800℃,corresponding to the joint strength coefficient of 85.1%and 96.3%,respectively.In this case,the joint fractured at the brazing seam with a flexural morphology,leading to the im-provement of joint strength.The typical composition within the joint was characterized by 0.47-2.09 at.%Fe,1.15-2.11 at.%Mn,0.08-0.59 at.%Ni,0.03-0.25 at.%Co and 0.15-0.35 at.%V,and these alloying elements had a positive strengthening effect on the brazed joint. 展开更多
