The influences of CaO dosage, temperature and roast- ing time on total iron content and iron recovery of reduced iron powder were studied. Results showed that these factors slightly influenced iron recovery, but significantly influenced total iron content. The principal factor influencing total iron content was CaO dosage, followed by temperature and roasting time. An increase in CaO dosage could decrease total iron content, whereas an increase in temperature and an extension of roasting time could improve total iron content. The reduced iron powder with total iron content of 88.4 l% and iron recovery rate of 97.97% can be obtained under the optimal conditions of temperature of 1 275 ℃, roasting time of 60 min and CaO dosage of 7.5%. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analyses of the reduced pellets showed that iron minerals in red mud were almost completely reduced to metallic iron. The principal factor influencing the total iron content of reduced iron powder was the grain size of metallic iron particles. An increase in CaO dosage hindered the growth of metallic iron particles, whereas an increase in temperature and an extension of roasting time could neutralise the effect of CaO dosage. Therefore, CaO dosage should be decreased when iron minerals in red mud can be adequately reduced into metallic iron.展开更多

Factors such as contact time, pH and ammonia concentration were investigated by orthogonal experiments to understand the interaction of various operation conditions on the formation of bromate and other disinfection byproducts(DBPs). Results showed that pH had the most significant influence on the minimization of bromate formation. The factors influencing the formation of bromate were in order of pH > contact time > ammonia concentration. For the formation of trihalomethanes(THMs) and haloacetic acids(HAAs), however, contact time significantly influenced their formation potential. In the practical preozonation process of waterworks, it is appropriate to set preozonation contact time to be 20 min. In order to minimize the formation of bromate, pH value of the raw water should be adjusted to 6. 0, and a certain concentration of ammonia could be added into the water to strengthen the minimization effect when the concentration of bromide in the raw water is higher than that in the experimental water.展开更多

However, polishing SiC wafers has been challenging and inefficient, tending to cause significant surface crack and subsurface damage. This work proposed modifying SiC surface properties by ion implantation to improve machining efficiency, suppress surface crack, and reduce damage. High-energy ion implantation disrupted the SiC crystal lattice, reducing hardness and elastic modulus while increasing brittle-ductile transition depth, thus changing the removal mode from brittle fracture to plastic removal. Theoretical models of material removal rate and surface roughness were established for abrasive polishing of the SiC wafers. Polishing experiments were conducted on ion-implanted, modified SiC samples. The improvement mechanisms of ion implantation on surface damage, removal rate, morphology, and residual stress were investigated. The effect of ion implantation on the polished surface quality of SiC was investigated through orthogonal experiments. The results showed that ion implantation can significantly improve the average material removal rate of the SiC samples. Additionally, the ion-implanted samples had exhibited remarkable reductions in surface roughness, surface damage, and tensile residual stress.展开更多

Dynamic analysis of a milling machine, which is newly designed for producing turbine blades, has been conducted by utilizing the modal synthesis method. The finite element model is verified and updated by experimental modal analysis (EMA) of the machine tool. The result gained by modal synthesis method is compared with whole-model finite element method (FEM) result as well. According to the orthogonal experiment method, four configuration parameters of machine tool are considered as four factors for dynamic characteristics. The influence of configuration parameters on the first three natural frequencies is obtained by range analysis. It is pointed out that configuration parameter is the most important factor affecting the fundamental frequency of machine tools, and configuration parameter has less effect on lower-order modes of the system than others. The combination of configuration parameters which makes the fundamental frequency reach the maximum value is provided. Through demonstration, the conclusion can be drawn that the influence of configuration parameters on the natural frequencies of machine tools can be analyzed explicitly by the orthogonal experiment method, which offers a new method for estimating the dynamic characteristics of machine tools.展开更多

Methods The key extraction parameters that influenced the yield of flavonid from Fructus Gardeniae were optimized by employing an orthogonal experiment [L9(3)4], including the ratio of buffer solution (Na2B4O7· 10H2O) to raw material, concentration of Fructus Gardeniae in extracting solution, extraction time and pH of buffer solution. An UV/Vis detector was used to perform the qualitative and quantitative analyses of the extracted flavonid with the using of the standard sample. Results The maximum extraction yield of the crude extract was 5.0533 (mg/g) after 20 min when the mass ratio of Na2B4O7 · 10H2O to raw material was 0.4%, the concentration of Fructus Gardeniae in the extraction solution was 1/12 (g/mL), and pH of buffer solution was 4.5. The positive reactions to the Molish and HCI-Mg tests suggested that the extracted compound was flavonoid, and FTIR measurements also identified the presence of flavonoid in the extracts. Conclusion This work is expected to provide a basis for further research, development, and utilization of Fructus gardenia in flavonid extraction.展开更多

An orthogonal genetic algorithm is developed for solving the binary linear implicit programming problem based on the orthogonal design. The orthogonal design with the factor analysis, an experimental design method is applied to the genetic algorithm to make the algorithm more robust, statistical y sound and quickly convergent. A crossover operator formed by the orthogonal array and the factor analysis is presented. First, this crossover operator can generate a smal but representative sample of points as offspring. After al of the better genes of these offspring are selected, a best combination among these offspring is then generated. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.展开更多

However, the current optimization works of centrifugal pump are mostly focusing on hydraulic efficiency only, which may result in poor cavitation performance. Therefore, it is necessary to find an appropriate solution to improve cavitation performance with acceptable efficiency. In this paper, to improve the cavitation performance of a centrifugal pump with a vaned diffuser, the influence of impeller geometric parameters on the cavitation of the pump is investigated using the orthogonal design of experiment (DOE) based on computational fluid dynamics. The impeller inlet diameter D1, inlet incidence angle Aft, and blade wrap angle ~0 are selected as the main impeller geometric parameters and the orthogonal experiment of L9(3"3) is performed. Three-dimensional steady simulations for cavitation are conducted by using constant gas mass fraction model with second-order upwind, and the predicated cavitation performance is validated by laboratory experiment. The optimization results are obtained by the range analysis method to improve cavitation performance without obvious decreasing the efficiency of the centrifugal pump. The internal flow of the pump is analyzed in order to identify the flow behavior that can affect cavitation performance. The results show that D1 has the greatest influence on the pump cavitation and the final optimized impeller provides better flow distribution at blade leading edge. The final optimized impeller accomplishes better cavitation and hydraulic performance and the NPSHR decreases by 0.63m compared with the original one. The presented work supplies a feasible route in engineering practice to optimize a centrifugal pump impeller for better cavitation performance.展开更多

文摘Hydraulic sandblasting perforation plays a crucial role in the fracturing and reconstruction of unconventional oil and gas reservoirs. The jet nozzle is an essential part of the hydraulic perforation tool.Insufficient penetration depth, caused by excessive jet distances, presents challenges during the perforation process. To overcome this,an optimization design of the nozzle structure is required to enhance the perforation efficiency. In this paper,a computational fluid-dynamic model for conical-cylindrical nozzles has been elaborated. To further improve the rock-breaking efficiency of the jet nozzle,a fillet design is introduced at the nozzle inlet section. The SST k-ωmodel is employed to account for turbulent flow effects in submerged conditions. The results indicate that the nozzle’s geometric parameters greatly influence the flow characteristics. The orthogonal experimental method is employed to optimize the flow channel structure of the nozzle, taking the length of constant velocity core as the evaluation index. The following optimized geometric parameters for the conical-cylindrical nozzle have been determined accordingly:a cylindrical segment diameter of 3.2 mm,a contraction angle of 12°,a contraction segment length of 8 mm,a cylindrical segment length of 6.4 mm,and a fillet radius of 2 mm.
文摘This study aims to explore the potential of using a blended pulp from Mikania micrantha(M.micrantha)and waste paper for producing composite paper. The effects of the mass ratio of M.micrantha stem to waste paper(MRMW),the beating time(BT),the water-to-pulp mass ratio(WPMR)and the times of pulp suspension screening(TPSS)on the paper’s basic structural, optical and mechanical properties are investigated. It is found that MRMW primarily affects the grammage(mass per unit area),density, bulkness and whiteness;WPMR mainly affects the thickness and density;TPSS mainly affects the thickness and grammage. When MRMW is 3:7,the composite paper shows higher values for thickness, grammage, density and whiteness;whereas when MRMW is 7:3,these values are lower.Extending BT can increase paper density. The tensile strengths of all prepared samples fall in the range of 1.5 to 4.1 kN/m,indicating their excellent strength properties that meet the demands of many paper applications. The artistic bags and lampshades crafted from this composite paper exhibit a more natural texture compared to conventional packaging paper. This research demonstrates the feasibility of papermaking by using M.micrantha, while showcasing the potential for synergistic integration of waste resources with traditional hand papermaking techniques.

文摘In order to analyze the influence of configuration parameters on dynamic characteristics of machine tools in the working space, the configuration parameters have been suggested based on the orthogonal experiment method. Through demonstration, the conclusion can be drawn that the influence of configuration parameters on the natural frequencies of machine tools can be analyzed explicitly by the orthogonal experiment method, which offers a new method for estimating the dynamic characteristics of machine tools.

文摘Objective It is imperative to provide some consistent experimental results for the extraction of flavonid from Fructus Gardeniae. Conclusion This work is expected to provide a basis for further research, development, and utilization of Fructus gardenia in flavonid extraction.

文摘An integer linear bilevel programming problem is firstly transformed into a binary linear bilevel programming problem, and then converted into a single-level binary implicit programming. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

文摘The optimization design of the power system is essential for stratospheric airships with paradoxical requirements of high reliability and low weight. The methodology of orthogonal experiment is presented to deal with the problem of the optimization design of the airship's power system. Mathematical models of the solar array, regenerative fuel cell, and power management subsystem (PMS) are presented. The basic theory of the method of orthogonal experiment is discussed, and the selection of factors and levels of the experiment and the choice of the evaluation function are also revealed. The proposed methodology is validated in the optimization design of the power system of the ZhiYuan-2 stratospheric airship. Results show that the optimal configuration is easily obtained through this methodology. Furthermore, the optimal configuration and three sub-optimal configurations are in the Pareto frontier of the design space. Sensitivity analyses for the weight and reliability of the airship's power system are presented.

文摘This paper studies the excavation collapse at the Xianghu subway station on Hangzhou metro line 1.The objective is to present an overview of this case study and discuss the cause of the failure.Through field investigation and preliminary analysis, the reasons for the excavation collapse were the misuse of the soil parameters, over excavation, incorrect installation of steel struts, invalid monitoring data, and inadequate ground improvement. Finally,a small strain constitutive model was used for further analysis. In order to estimate damage efficiently, the orthogonal array(OA) was introduced for screening the key factor in the numerical experiments.Six estimated indexes including deformations and internal forces of the excavation were taken, and the effectiveness of four factors which may cause the collapse was evaluated.Through numerical experiments and interaction analysis,it is found that the deformation and internal force can be well controlled by jet grouting of the subsoil under the final cutting surface, but increasing the improvement ratio of the jet grouting cannot help optimize the excavation behavior efficiently, and without jet grouting and the fourth level struts, the deformation and internal force of the excavation in this case will far surpass the allowable value.

文摘Cavitation is one of the most important performance of centrifugal pumps. The presented work supplies a feasible route in engineering practice to optimize a centrifugal pump impeller for better cavitation performance.
