The discussion is devoted to the adaptive H ∞ control method based on RBF neural networks for uncertain nonlinear systems in this paper. The controller consists of an equivalent controller and an H ∞ controller. The RBF neural networks are used to approximate the nonlinear functions and the approximation errors of the neural networks are used in the adaptive law to improve the performance of the systems. The H ∞ controller is designed for attenuating the influence of external disturbance and neural network approximation errors. The controller can not only guarantee stability of the nonlinear systems, but also attenuate the effect of the external disturbance and neural networks approximation errors to reach performance indexes. In this paper, we consider a class of high-order nonlinear systems with unmodelled dynamics from the viewpoint of maintaining the desired control performance (e,g., asymptotical stability) and reducing the control effort. By introducing a new reseating transformation, adopting an effective reduced-order observer, and choosing an ingenious Lyapunov function and appropriate design parameters, this paper designs all improved output-feedback controller. The output-feedback controller guarantees the globally asymptotieal stability of the closed-loop system. Subsequently, taking a concrete system for an example, the smaller critical values for gain parameter and resealing transformation parameter are obtained to effectively reduce the control effort. 展开更多

In this paper, the robust adaptive fuzzy tracking control problem is discussed for a class of perturbed strict-feedback nonlinear systems. The fuzzy logic systems in Mamdani type are used to approximate unknown nonlinear functions. A design scheme of the robust adaptive fuzzy controller is proposed by use of the backstepping technique. The proposed controller guarantees semi-global uniform ultimate boundedness of all the signals in the derived closed-loop system and achieves the good tracking performance. The possible controller singularity problem which may occur in some existing adaptive control schemes with feedback linearization techniques can be avoided. In addition, the number of the on-line adaptive parameters is not more than the order of the designed system. Finally, two simulation examples are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme. 展开更多

A parameter separation technique is introduced to separate the time-varying uncertainty and the unmeasurable state from nonlinear functions. Then, the Nussbaum-type gain method together with the idea of changing supply functions is adopted in the design of a smooth partial-state regulator that can ensure all the signals of the closed-loop system are globally uniformly bounded. Especially, the system state asymptotically converges to zero. The design procedure is illustrated through an example and the simulation results show that the controller is feasible and effective. 展开更多

The problem of track control is studied for a class of strict-feedback stochastic nonlinear systems in which unknown virtual control gain function is the main feature. First, the so-called stochastic LaSalle theory is extended to some extent, and accordingly, the results of global ultimate boundedness for stochastic nonlinear systems are developed. Next, a new design scheme of fuzzy adaptive control is proposed. The advantage of it is that it does not require priori knowledge of virtual control gain function sign, which is usually demanded in many designs. At the same time, the track performance of closed-loop systems is improved by adaptive modifying the estimated error upper bound. By theoretical analysis, the signals of closed-loop systems are globally ultimately bounded in probability and the track error converges to a small residual set around the origin in 4th-power expectation. 展开更多

Sufficient conditions guaranteeing the convergence of the n-norm of the tracking error are derived. It is shown that the system outputs can be guaranteed to converge to desired trajectories in the absence of external disturbances and output measurement noises. And in the presence of state disturbances and measurement noises, the tracking error will be bounded uniformly. In this paper, an indirect adaptive fuzzy output feedback controller with supervisory mode for a class of unknown nonlinear systems is developed. The proposed approach does not need the availability of the state variables, moreover, a supervisory controller is appended to the adaptive fuzzy controller to force the state to be within the constraint set. Therefore, if the adaptive fuzzy controller cannot maintain the stability, the supervisory controller starts to work to guarantee stability. On the other hand, if the adaptive fuzzy controller works well, the supervisory controller will be de-activated. The overall adaptive fuzzy control scheme guarantees the stability of the whole closed-loop systems. The simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

A bounded optimal control strategy for strongly non-linear systems under non-white wide-band random excitation with actuator saturation is proposed. First, the stochastic averaging method is introduced for controlled strongly non-linear systems under wide-band random excitation using generalized harmonic functions. Then, the dynamical programming equation for the saturated control problem is formulated from the partially averaged Itō equation based on the dynamical programming principle. The optimal control consisting of the unbounded optimal control and the bounded bang-bang control is determined by solving the dynamical programming equation. Finally, the response of the optimally controlled system is predicted by solving the reduced Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov (FPK) equation associated with the completed averaged Itō equation. An example is given to illustrate the proposed control strategy. Numerical results show that the proposed control strategy has high control effectiveness and efficiency and the chattering is reduced significantly comparing with the bang-bang control strategy. 展开更多

An observer-based adaptive fuzzy control is presented for a class of nonlinear systems with unknown time delays. The state observer is first designed, and then the controller is designed via the adaptive fuzzy control method based on the observed states. Both the designed observer and controller are independent of time delays. Using an appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, the uncertainty of the unknown time delay is compensated, and then the fuzzy logic system in Mamdani type is utilized to approximate the unknown nonlinear functions. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, the constructed observer-based controller and the closed-loop system are proved to be asymptotically stable. The designed control law is independent of the time delays and has a simple form with only one adaptive parameter vector, which is to be updated on-line. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. 展开更多

The design is based on backstepping and the approximation capability of the first type fuzzy systems. A continuous robust term is adopted to minify the influence of modeling errors or disturbances. By introducing the modified integral-type Lyapunov function, the approach is able to avoid the requirement of the upper bound of the first time derivation of the high frequency control gain. Through theoretical analysis, the closed-loop control system is proven to be semi-globally uniformly ultimately bounded, with tracking error converging to a residual set. 展开更多

In this paper, the adaptive robust tracking control scheme is proposed for a class of multi-input and multi-output (MIMO) non-affine systems with uncertain structure and parameters, unknown control direction and unknown external disturbance based on backstepping technique. The MIMO non-affine system is first transformed into a time-varying system with strict feedback structure using the mean value theorem, and then the bounded time-varying parameters are estimated by adaptive algorithms with projection. To handle the possible 'controller singularity' problem caused by unknown control direction, a Nussbaum function is employed, and the dynamic surface control (DSC) method is applied to solve the problem of 'explosion of complexity' in backstepping control. It is proved that the proposed control scheme can guarantee that all signals of the closed-loop system are bounded through Lyapunov stability theorem and decoupled backstepping method. To access the objective that the designed robust filter is maximally tolerant to disturbances and sensitive to fault, the robustness and stability properties of the fault diagnosis scheme are established rigorously. Using the residual vector, a fault tolerant controller is established in order to guarantee the stability of the closed-loop system, and the controller law can be obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities. Then, some relevant sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution are given by applying Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, a simulation example is performed to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach. 展开更多
