The main purpose is to obtain a stable and proper linear filter such that the filtering error system is strictly dissipative. A new criterion for the dissipativity of neutral systems is first provided in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMI). Then, an LMI sufficient condition for the existence of a robust filter is established and a design procedure is proposed for this type of systems. Two numerical examples are given. One illustrates the less conservativeness of the proposed criterion; the other demonstrates the validity of the filtering design procedure. 展开更多

By using a newly established integral inequality, a new delay-dependent bounded real lemma for such systems is derived without involving a fixed model transformation. Furthermore, new delay-dependent sufficient conditions for the existence of robust H-infinity controllers are presented in terms of nonlinear matrix inequalities. A design procedure involving an iterative algorithm is also proposed to design such controllers. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the less conservatism of the proposed method. 展开更多

The system considered is continuous in time with norm bounded parametric uncertainties. By incorporating the free weighing matrix approach developed recently, some new delay-dependent stability conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) with some tuning parameters are obtained. An estimate of the domain of attraction of the closed-loop system under a priori designed controller is proposed. The approach is based on a polytopic description of the actuator saturation nonlinearities and the Lyapunov- Krasovskii method. Based on the model transformation of neutral type, the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method is employed to establish the delay-dependent stability criterion. Then, through the controller parameterization and some matrix transformation techniques, the desired parameters are determined under the delay-dependent design condition in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), and the desired controller is explicitly formulated. The less conservative delaydependent stability criteria for this system are proposed by applying new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and novel polynomials with time-varying delay (PTVD) compensation technique. The aim to deal with systems with fast-varying neutral-type delay can be achieved by using the new functional. The benefit brought by applying the PTVD compensation technique is that some useful elements can be included in criteria, which are generally ignored when estimating the upper bound of derivative of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional. Using Laplace transform, a novel characteristic equation is derived. Stability criteria are established based on an algebraic approach and norm-based criteria are also presented. It is shown that asymptotic stability is ensured for linear fractional-order neutral delay differential systems provided that the underlying stability criterion holds for any delay parameter. In addition, sufficient conditions are derived to ensure the asymptotic stability of interval linear fractional order neutral delay differential systems. By re-constructing the system, the dynamics of overall augmented error systems is obtained which involves unknown inputs represented by disturbances, model uncertainties and time-delays. As to the nominal system, sufficient conditions are provided for the existence of the mode-dependent H∞ filter by selecting the appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii function and the robust H∞ filter is proposed for the jump system while considering the time-delays and uncertainties. Both of above conditions for the existence of the H∞ filter and roust H∞ filter are presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities, and convex optimization problems are formulated to design the desired filters. By employing the proposed mode-dependent H∞ filter, the systems have the stochastic stability and better ability of restraining disturbances stochastically, and the given prescribed H∞ performance is guaranteed. The setting values of thresholds for fault feature parameters are critical in all kinds of protection schemes.When the detected feature parameter value exceeds the setting value,the protection will trip.However,the setting value based conventional protection schemes sometimes cannot satisfy the protection requirements of neutral ineffectively earthed power systems(NIEPS)due to wide variations in operating conditions and the complexities of fault cases.In this paper,a novel single phase grounding fault protection scheme without threshold setting is proposed.The fault detection is achieved based on operating states rather than setting values.A fuzzy c-means algorithm is used to divide the operating state of the protected feeder into non-fault states and fault states.The cluster center of each state is then obtained by classifying the historical feature samples of the protected feeder extracted under various operating conditions into their corresponding states in a constructed multi-dimensional fault feature space.The distances between the detected feature samples and the cluster centers of the non-fault and the fault states are calculated.If the distance to the fault state is shorter than that to the non-fault state,a fault is detected.Otherwise,the feeder is considered normal.A PSCAD/EMTDC simulator is used to simulate a 35 kV NIEPS under various operating conditions,non-linear loads,and complex fault cases.Results show that the proposed single phase grounding fault protection scheme without threshold setting can protect the system correctly under all kinds of faults. 展开更多
