The effects of Na2O-doping on the formation mechanism of calcium aluminate compounds and the crystal property of 12CaO·7Al2O3 (C12A7) cell were studied. The results show that the minerals containing Na2O mainly include 2Na2O·3CaO·5Al2O3 and Na2O·Al2O3, when the Na2O content in clinkers is less than 4.26% (mass fraction). The rest of Na2O is mainly doped in 12CaO·7Al2O3, which results in the decrease of the crystallinity of 12CaO·7Al2O3. The crystallinity of 2Na2O·3CaO·5Al2O3 is also inversely proportional to the Na2O content in clinkers. The formation processes of 2Na2O·3CaO·5Al2O3 and 12CaO·7Al2O3 can be divided into two ways, which are the direct reactions of raw materials and the transformation of CaO·Al2O3, respectively. The simulation shows that the covalency of O-Na bond in Na2O-doped 12CaO·7Al2O3 cell is weaker than those of O-Ca and O-Al bonds. The free energy of the unit cell increases because of Na2O doping, which results in the improvement of chemical activity of 12CaO·7Al2O3. The leaching efficiency of Al2O3 in clinker is improved from 34.81% to 88.17% when the Na2O content in clinkers increases from 0 to 4.26%.展开更多

The reflective coefficients (R) of glasses in the system Na2O - ZnO - GeO2-SiO2-PbO have been measured-the refractive index becomes less than unity at 1180 - 900cm-1 range because of the existence of anomalous dispersion. The optical losses of hollow waveguides were calculated, the predicted losses at 940cm-1are 0. 65 and 0. 081B/ m as the inner diameter of fiber is 0. 5 and 1. 0mm respectively. The glasses can be used as the cladding materials of hol-low waveguides for transmitting CO2 laser from the measurements of characteristic temperatures, coefficient of expansion and chemical durability.展开更多

Computer pattern recognition is applied to optimize the heat-treatment schedules. The experimental results show that the base glass containing more than 1 .5 % (mass fraction) Cr2O3 can be nucleated internally and converted to spheroidal crystal glass materials. The spheroidal crystal consisted of fibrous wollastonite crystals radiating from a center. The residual glass phase filled in the interstices between the fibers and between the spherulites. During heat treatment process, the valence states ofchromium changed from Cr6- to Cr3-, and the Cr-spinel solidsolution [CaCr2O4] precipitated followed this valence change. At the primary stage of crystallization, the Cr-spinel could act as a nucleating center on which the principal or}stalline phase β-CaSiO3 grew epitaxially.展开更多

The measurement of adsorption density, solvent extraction-chemical analysis of neutral sulphur at the surfaces, measurements of pulp potential and voltammogram, and flotation tests were done. Both the electrochemical and non-electrochemi cal adsorption models of HS- ions were established. The former was observed and resulted in the formation of neutral sulphur (S°)when the pyrite and arsenopyrite were chosen, and hence renders the surfaces hy drophobic and induced the two minerals flotation. It is called Na2S-induced flotation. On the other hand, the latter took place and did not produce S° when the chalcopyrite and galena were selected, and hence de presses the collectorless flotation of the two minerals. The adsorptions of HS- ions were mainly influenced by potentials, pH and the electron structures of the mineral surfaces.展开更多
