Pulmonary hypertension represents an anomalous hemodynamic state and is characterized by an excessively high blood pressure in the pulmonary artery. To simulate the hemodynamic abnormalities in pulmonary hypertension under different causes and pathologies, we construct a localized parameter circuit model governed by nonlinear ordinary derivative equations of the human circulatory system. Thus, two special cases are considered, namely pulmonary the artery stenosis and the left ventricular diastolic dysfunction. For each case of pulmonary hypertension development, we determine the relationships between blood pressure and chamber and vessel pressure-volume. When the pulmonary hypertension is due to pulmonary artery stenosis, it appears that the right ventricular pressure increases up to 90 mm Hg, likewise the rise in pulmonary artery resistance induces direct increment in pulmonary artery pressure. However, when the pulmonary hypertension is due to left ventricular diastolic dysfunction, we note that the left atrial pressure and the pulmonary vein pressure augment, leading to the growth of the pulmonary artery blood pressure. The established results within this paper are useful for understanding the hemodynamic mechanism of particular pulmonary hypertension.展开更多

A multi-disciplinary finite element method (FEM) framework and a empirical sub-model were built to analyze the affecting factors on weld nugget and the underlying nature of welding physics with dynamic simulation procedure. Specifically, a counter-intuitive phenomenon of the resistance time-variation caused by the transient inverse virtual variation (TIVV) effect was highlighted and analyzed on the basis of welding current and temperature distribution simulation. The empirical model describing the TIVV phenomenon was used for modifying the dynamic resistance simulation during the AA spot welding process. The numerical and experimental results show that the proposed multi-field FEM model agrees with the measured AA welding feature, and the modified dynamic resistance model captures the physics of nugget growth and the electrical-thermal behavior under varying welding current and fluctuating heat input.展开更多

In water modeling experiments, flow characteristics of the bare tundish and tundish conf igurations with designed U-type baff les and a round turbulence inhibitor were analyzed using residence time distribution(RTD) curves. Mathematical models for liquid steel in the real plant tundish were established using the fluid dynamics software package Fluent. The flow field, the temperature field, and the RTD curves of liquid steel in the proposed tundish conf igurations were obtained. The results of numerical simulation and water modeling were validated with each other by the predicted and experimental RTD curves. The results of flow field and temperature field were used to ref lect the actual state of a real plant tundish and to choose the optimal FCD. Finaly, from the whole performance of the multi-strand tundish, the optimal scheme was determined by combining the results of water modeling and numerical simulation. With the optimal tundish equipped with U-type baffle with def lector holes and round turbulence inhibitor, not only was the flow characteristic of each strand improved, but also the difference of flow characteristics between multiple strands was smaller.展开更多

An example of product assembly modeling is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. On the basis of re- search, using assembly simulation techniques and multimedia techniques to finish structure design in linkage design of a large size wind-drive generator. The application of the modeling method has shortened the lead time dramatically.
文摘This paper presents two approaches for system-level simulation of force-balance accelerometers. The derivation of the system-level model is elaborated and simulation results are obtained from the implementation of those strategies on the fabricated silicon force-balance MEMS accelerometer. The mathematical model presented is implemented in VHDL- AMS and SIMULINK TM,respectively. The simulation results from the two approaches are compared and show a slight difference. Using VHDL-AMS is flexible, reusable, and more accurate. But there is not a mature solver developed for the language and this approach takes more time, while the simulation model can be easily built and quickly evaluated using SIMULINK.

文摘In order to explore the influence of welding parameters and to investigate the Al alloy (AA) nugget formation process, a comprehensive model involving electrical-thermal-mechanical and metallurgical analysis was established to numerically display the resistance spot welding (RSW) process within multiple fields and understand the AA-RSW physics. The numerical and experimental results show that the proposed multi-field FEM model agrees with the measured AA welding feature, and the modified dynamic resistance model captures the physics of nugget growth and the electrical-thermal behavior under varying welding current and fluctuating heat input.

文摘The design work of motional cable in products is vital due to the difficulty in estimating the potential issues in current researches. In this paper,a physics-based modeling and simulation method for the motional cable harness design is presented. The model, based on continuum mechanics,is established by analyzing the force of microelement in equilibrium.During the analysis procedure, three coordinate systems:inertial,Frenet and main-axis coordinate systems are used.By variable substitution and dimensionless processing, the equation set is discretized by differential quadrature method and subsequently becomes an overdetermined nonlinear equation set with boundary conditions solved by Levenberg-Marquardt method. With the profile of motional cable harness obtained from the integral of arithmetic solution,a motion simulation system based on"path"and"profile"as well as the experimental equipments is built.Using the same parameters as input for the simulation and the real cable harness correspondingly, the issue in designing, such as collision, can be easily found by the simulation system. This research obtains a better result which has no potential collisions by redesign, and the proposed method can be used as an accurate and efficient way in motional cable harness design work.

文摘The optimization of flow control devices(FCDs) for a T-type five-strand billet caster tundish was carried out by water modeling and numerical simulation. With the optimal tundish equipped with U-type baffle with def lector holes and round turbulence inhibitor, not only was the flow characteristic of each strand improved, but also the difference of flow characteristics between multiple strands was smaller.

文摘To reduce complexity, the combat effectiveness simulation system(CESS) is often decomposed into static structure, physical behavior, and cognitive behavior, and model abstraction is layered onto domain invariant knowledge(DIK) and application variant knowledge(AVK) levels. This study concentrates on the specification of CESS’s physical behaviors at the DIK level of abstraction, and proposes a model driven framework for efficiently developing simulation models within model-driven engineering(MDE). Technically, this framework integrates the four-layer metamodeling architecture and a set of model transformation techniques with the objective of reducing model heterogeneity and enhancing model continuity. As a proof of concept, a torpedo example is illustrated to explain how physical models are developed following the proposed framework. Finally, a combat scenario is constructed to demonstrate the availability, and a further verification is shown by a reasonable agreement between simulation results and field observations.
文摘A micro-modeling method (MM) for the quantitative prediction of the shrinkage cavity formation in SGiron castings is proposed. The mathematical models describing the volume changes during the solidification ofspheroidal graphite cast iron are established based on the models of solidification kinetics. The shrinkage cavityformation of T-shaped SG iron castings is calculated with MM method. The calculated results are compared with theexperimental results. It is shown that the predicted size, shape and distribution of shrinkage cavity by MM methodare in good agreement with the measured results.

文摘Soft robots have become important members of the robot community with many potential applications owing to their unique flexibility and security embedded at the material level. An increasing number of researchers are interested in their designing, manufacturing, modeling, and control. However, the dynamic simulation of soft robots is difficult owing to their infinite degrees of freedom and nonlinear characteristics that are associated with soft materials and flexible geometric structures. In this study,a novel multi-flexible body dynamic modeling and simulation technique is introduced for soft robots.Various actuators for soft robots are modeled in a virtual environment, including soft cable-driven,spring actuation, and pneumatic driving.A pneumatic driving simulation was demonstrated by the bending modules with different materials.A cable-driven soft robot arm prototype and a cylindrical soft module actuated by shape memory alley springs inspired by an octopus were manufactured and used to validate the simulation model, and the experimental results demonstrated adequate accuracy. The proposed technique can be widely applied for the modeling and dynamic simulation of other soft robots, including hybrid actuated robots and rigid-flexible coupling robots. This study also provides a fundamental framework for simulating soft mobile robots and soft manipulators in contact with the environment.
