Through analysis we find MPGA will lead the population' s evol vement to diversity or convergence according to the population size and the crossover size, so we make it run in different forms during the global and local optimization phases and then forms TPGA. The experiment results show that TPGA is very efficient for the optimization of low-dimension multi-modal functions, usually we can obtain all the global optimal solutions.展开更多

In the first level, the improved GT algorithm is used to do global recombination search so that the whole population can be separated into several niches according to the position of solutions; then, in the second level, the niche evolutionary strategy is used for local search in the subspaces gotten in the first level till solutions of the problem are found. Normal mode extraction has attracted extensive attention over the past few decades due to its practical value in enhancing the performance of underwater acoustic signal processing.Singular value decomposition(SVD)is a...Normal mode extraction has attracted extensive attention over the past few decades due to its practical value in enhancing the performance of underwater acoustic signal processing.Singular value decomposition(SVD)is an effective method to extract modal depth functions using vertical line arrays(VLA),particularly in scenarios when no prior environment information is available.However,the SVD method requires rigorous orthogonality conditions,and its performance severely degenerates in the presence of mode degeneracy.Consequently,the SVD approach is often not feasible in practical scenarios.This paper proposes a full rank decomposition(FRD)method to address these issues.Compared to the SVD method,the FRD method has three distinct advantages:1)the conditions that the FRD method requires are much easier to be fulfilled in practical scenarios;2)both modal depth functions and wavenumbers can be simultaneously extracted via the FRD method;3)the FRD method is not affected by the phenomenon of mode degeneracy.Numerical simulations are conducted in two types of waveguides to verify the FRD method.The impacts of environment configurations and noise levels on the precision of the extracted modal depth functions and wavenumbers are also investigated through simulation.展开更多

This paper gives a theoretical formulation for the cross-correlation functions and cross-power spectra between the outputs under the assumption of white-noise excitation. It widens the field of modal analysis under ambient excitation because many classical methods by impulse response functions or frequency response functions can be used easily for modal analysis under unknown excitation. The Polyreference Complex Exponential method and Eigensystem Realization Algorithm using cross-correlation functions in time domain and Orthogonal Polynomial method using cross-power spectra in frequency domain are applied to a steel frame to extract modal parameters under operational conditions. The modal properties of the steel frame from these three methods are compared with those from frequency response functions analysis. The results show that the modal analysis method using cross-correlation functions or cross-power spectra presented in this paper can extract modal parameters efficiently under unknown excitation.展开更多
In the current research,an effective differential quadrature method(DQM)has been developed to solve natural frequency and vibration modal functions of circular section beams along radial functional gradient.Based on t...In the current research,an effective differential quadrature method(DQM)has been developed to solve natural frequency and vibration modal functions of circular section beams along radial functional gradient.Based on the high-order theory of transverse vibration of circular cross-section beams,lateral displacement equation was reconstructed neglecting circumferential shear stress.Two equations coupled with deflection and rotation angles were derived based on elastic mechanics theory and further simplified into a constant coefficient differential equation with natural frequency as eigenvalue.Then,differential quadrature method was applied to transform the eigenvalue problem of the derived differential equation into a set of algebraic equation eigenvalue problems.Natural frequencies of the free vibrations of cylindrical beams with circular cross-sections were calculated at one time,and corresponding modal functions were solved together.The obtained numerical results indicated that the natural frequencies of functionally graded(FG)circular cylindrical beams obtained using differential quadrature method agreed with the results reported in related literatures.In addition,influences of varying gradient parameters on the modal shapes of circular cylindrical beams were found to be strongly consistent with previous studies.Numerical results further validated the feasibility and accuracy of the developed differential quadrature method in solving the transverse vibration of FG circular cross-section beams.展开更多

The breaking and polarity transformation were analyzed. A "kink" structure, due to shoaling topography and higher nonlinear effect, was found to be generated by the leading wave before breaking. Coherent vortex shedding behind the leading wave was presented. The evolution characteristics of the modal structure were analyzed based on the empirical orthogonal function method. The modal structure was complicated due to the effect of the variable topography, especially when breaking occurred. In the performed experiments, the contributions to the total variance from higher mode jumped from no more than 20% to over 40%.展开更多

Comparing 3 feasible algorithms to simulate TF shows that,one of them is preperable,which is expressing the TF as the function of the complex modal parameters(CMPs),because the deliberate behaviors of CMPs can be implemented easily,such as,dense modals,large damping,and complex modal shape,etc.Nonetheless,even this preferable algorithms is elected,the complex modal shapes cannot be specified arbitrarily,because the number of CMPs far more exceeds that in physical coordinate.So for physical realizable system,there are redundant constraints in CMPs.By analyzing the eigenvalue problem of a complex modal system,and the inversion equations from CMPs to physical parameters,the explicit redundancy constraints were presented.For the special cases,such as the real modal,the damping free modal,and non-complete identification,the specific forms of the redundancy constraints were discussed,along with the number of independent parameters.It is worthy of noting that,redundancy constraints are automatically satisfied for the real modal case.Their equivalent forms on the transfer matrix and a column of transfer matrix were also provided. These results are applicable to generate TF, to implement identification by optimization and appreciate the identification results, to evaluate residual modal, and to verify the complementary of identified modal orders.展开更多

This paper presents the theory of excitation function method used in the RI level prediction. Then, some practical problems related to this method are discussed. The propagation procedure of corona current is solved by the phase-modal transformation, and the impedance matrix of multi transmission lines is calculated by a double logarithmic approximate model of Carson's Ground-Return impedance. At the same time, in order to calculate the RI level when total line corona is assumed, an analytical formula is deduced for integral operation. Based on the above solutions, an algorithm is presented and applied to the prediction of RI level of a practical overhead transmission line. Comparison of prediction and measurement results indicates that the algorithm proposed in this paper is effective and feasible.展开更多

The present research is a case study, aiming to explore how the Interpersonal meta-function is reflected in the English classroom discourse, as well as to provide some suggestions for pedagogical improvement based on the findings. The results of the analysis indicate that in terms of Mood, the declarative clause is most frequently used, followed by the interrogative and imperative clause respectively; in terms of modality, the teacher uses modal verbs and Mood Adjuncts to express the degree of certainty; in terms of personal pronouns, the teacher prefers to use the first person plural pronouns. It is suggested that the class should be student-centered and that an equal teacher-student relationship should be established.展开更多

The method can identify the physical parameters of the system from the response data. First, the structural dynamic equation is transformed into a continuous time autoregressive model (CAR) of order 3. Second, based on the assumption that the uniformly modulated function is approximately equal to a constant matrix in a very short period of time and on the property of the strong solution of the stochastic differential equation, the uniformly modulated function is identified piecewise. Two special situations are discussed. Finally, by virtue of the Girsanov theorem, we introduce a likelihood function, which is just a con- ditional density function. Maximizing the likelihood function gives the exact maximum likelihood estimators of model parameters. Numerical results show that the method has high precision and the computation is efficient.展开更多

One of them is found to be suitable in modeling the diffraction efficiency of the circular tapered crossed subwavelength gratings without high absorption, and staircase approximation is further proven valid for non-highly-absorptive tapered gratings. In this article, we propose an improved meth...For modal parameter estimation of offshore structures, one has to deal with two challenges: 1) identify the interested frequencies, and 2) reduce the number of false modes. In this article, we propose an improved method of modal parameter estimation by reconstructing a new signal only with interested frequencies. The approach consists of three steps: 1) isolation and reconstruction of interested frequencies using FFT filtering, 2) smoothness of reconstructed signals, and 3) extraction of interested modal parameters in time domain. The theoretical improvement is that the frequency response function(FRF) of filtered signals is smoothed based on singular value decomposition technique. The elimination of false modes is realized by reconstructing a block data matrix of the eigensystem realization algorithm(ERA) using the filtered and smoothed signals. The advantage is that the efficiency of the identification process of modal parameters will be improved greatly without introducing any false modes. A five-DOF mass-spring system is chosen to illustrate the procedure and demonstrate the performance of the proposed scheme. Numerical results indicate that interested frequencies can be isolated successfully using FFT filtering, and unexpected peaks in auto spectral density can be removed effectively. In addition, interested modal parameters, such as frequencies and damping ratios, can be identified properly by reconstructing the Hankel matrix with a small dimension of ERA, even the original signal has measurement noises.展开更多

文摘The news,a special form of discourse,can easily influence people's emotion and evaluation.Although its characteristics require the reported messages to be objective and fair,there is no absolute objectivity.This paper aims to conduct a systematic analysis of finite modal operator and modal adjuncts under the framework of Halliday's systemic-functional grammar.The linguistic data is drawn from two pieces of news reports on hand-foot-mouth disease in English and Chinese.Both qualitative and quantitative research methods are adopted to discover the difference as well as similarity between the two languages with regards to the realization of modality.

文摘Fourier modal method incorporating staircase approximation is used to study tapered crossed subwavelength gratings in this paper. Three intuitive formulations of eigenvalue functions originating from the prototype are presented, and their convergences are compared through numerical calculation. One of them is found to be suitable in modeling the diffraction efficiency of the circular tapered crossed subwavelength gratings without high absorption, and staircase approximation is further proven valid for non-highly-absorptive tapered gratings. This approach is used to simulate the "moth-eye" antireflection surface on silicon, and the numerical result agrees well with the experimental one.

文摘For modal parameter estimation of offshore structures, one has to deal with two challenges: 1) identify the interested frequencies, and 2) reduce the number of false modes. In this article, we propose an improved method of modal parameter estimation by reconstructing a new signal only with interested frequencies. The approach consists of three steps: 1) isolation and reconstruction of interested frequencies using FFT filtering, 2) smoothness of reconstructed signals, and 3) extraction of interested modal parameters in time domain. The theoretical improvement is that the frequency response function(FRF) of filtered signals is smoothed based on singular value decomposition technique. The elimination of false modes is realized by reconstructing a block data matrix of the eigensystem realization algorithm(ERA) using the filtered and smoothed signals. The advantage is that the efficiency of the identification process of modal parameters will be improved greatly without introducing any false modes. A five-DOF mass-spring system is chosen to illustrate the procedure and demonstrate the performance of the proposed scheme. Numerical results indicate that interested frequencies can be isolated successfully using FFT filtering, and unexpected peaks in auto spectral density can be removed effectively. In addition, interested modal parameters, such as frequencies and damping ratios, can be identified properly by reconstructing the Hankel matrix with a small dimension of ERA, even the original signal has measurement noises.
