[Objective] To discuss the effects of major mapping methods for DNA sequence on the accuracy of protein coding regions prediction,and to find out the effective mapping methods.[Method] By taking Approximate Correlatio...[Objective] To discuss the effects of major mapping methods for DNA sequence on the accuracy of protein coding regions prediction,and to find out the effective mapping methods.[Method] By taking Approximate Correlation(AC) as the full measure of the prediction accuracy at nucleotide level,the windowed narrow pass-band filter(WNPBF) based prediction algorithm was applied to study the effects of different mapping methods on prediction accuracy.[Result] In DNA data sets ALLSEQ and HMR195,the Voss and Z-Curve methods are proved to be more effective mapping methods than paired numeric(PN),Electron-ion Interaction Potential(EIIP) and complex number methods.[Conclusion] This study lays the foundation to verify the effectiveness of new mapping methods by using the predicted AC value,and it is meaningful to reveal DNA structure by using bioinformatics methods.展开更多

The whole work focuses on investigating som...This paper studies the cascading failure on random networks and scale-free networks by introducing the tolerance parameter of edge based on the coupled map lattices methods. The whole work focuses on investigating some indices including the number of failed edges, dynamic edge tolerance capacity and the perturbation of edge. In general, it assumes that the perturbation is attributed to the normal distribution in adopted simulations. By investigating the effectiveness of edge tolerance in scale-free and random networks, it finds that the larger tolerance parameter λ can more efficiently delay the cascading failure process for scale-free networks than random networks. These results indicate that the cascading failure process can be effectively controlled by increasing the tolerance parameter λ. Moreover, the simulations also show that, larger variance of perturbation can easily trigger the cascading failures than the smaller one. This study may be useful for evaluating efficiency of whole traffic systems, and for alleviating cascading failure in such systems.展开更多
Fatigue failure is a common failure mode under the action of cyclic loads in engineering applications,which often occurs with no obvious signal.The maximum structural stress is far below the allowable stress when the ...Fatigue failure is a common failure mode under the action of cyclic loads in engineering applications,which often occurs with no obvious signal.The maximum structural stress is far below the allowable stress when the structures are damaged.Aiming at the lightweight structure,fatigue topology optimization design is investigated to avoid the occurrence of fatigue failure in the structural conceptual design beforehand.Firstly,the fatigue life is expressed by topology variables and the fatigue life filter function.The continuum fatigue optimization model is established with the independent continuous mapping(ICM)method.Secondly,fatigue life constraints are transformed to distortion energy constraints explicitly by taking advantage of the distortion energy theory.Thirdly,the optimization formulation is solved by the dual sequence quadratic programming(DSQP).And the design scheme of lightweight structure considering the fatigue characteristics is obtained.Finally,numerical examples illustrate the practicality and effectiveness of the fatigue optimization method.This method further expands the theoretical application of the ICM method and provides a novel approach for the fatigue optimization problem.展开更多
In 1748,Giambattista Nolli published a large map of Rome,which accurately depicted the form and system of public space in the city.This graphic presentation has become a powerful tool for urban space research.However,...In 1748,Giambattista Nolli published a large map of Rome,which accurately depicted the form and system of public space in the city.This graphic presentation has become a powerful tool for urban space research.However,given the increasingly abundant types of contemporary urban spaces and diverse functions of public buildings,the application of the drawing principle of the Nolli map to contemporary cities remains uncertain.Taking the Laochengnan area in Nanjing as an example,this study investigates the mapping of urban public spaces based on the Nolli map method.On the basis of a field survey,the public and private spaces in the blocks are identified.By comparing the graphic information of the Nolli map and that of the Nolli-type map in terms of public,private,and green spaces,this work also reveals the similarities and differences between traditional and modern urban spaces.Urban spatial mapping methods,including the figure-ground map,street map,and Nolli-type map,are explored and compared using complementary mapping techniques.The practicality and effectiveness of each technique are also discussed.Results show that the Nolli map method is effective in mapping contemporary urban public spaces and provides an effective tool for urban designers and architects to depict and analyze urban public spaces.展开更多
Environmental covariates are the basis of predictive soil mapping.Their selection determines the performance of soil mapping to a great extent,especially in cases where the number of soil samples is limited but soil s...Environmental covariates are the basis of predictive soil mapping.Their selection determines the performance of soil mapping to a great extent,especially in cases where the number of soil samples is limited but soil spatial heterogeneity is high.In this study,we proposed an integrated method to select environmental covariates for predictive soil depth mapping.First,candidate variables that may influence the development of soil depth were selected based on pedogenetic knowledge.Second,three conventional methods(Pearson correlation analysis(PsCA),generalized additive models(GAMs),and Random Forest(RF))were used to generate optimal combinations of environmental covariates.Finally,three optimal combinations were integrated to produce a final combination based on the importance and occurrence frequency of each environmental covariate.We tested this method for soil depth mapping in the upper reaches of the Heihe River Basin in Northwest China.A total of 129 soil sampling sites were collected using a representative sampling strategy,and RF and support vector machine(SVM)models were used to map soil depth.The results showed that compared to the set of environmental covariates selected by the three conventional selection methods,the set of environmental covariates selected by the proposed method achieved higher mapping accuracy.The combination from the proposed method obtained a root mean square error(RMSE)of 11.88 cm,which was 2.25–7.64 cm lower than the other methods,and an R^2 value of 0.76,which was 0.08–0.26 higher than the other methods.The results suggest that our method can be used as an alternative to the conventional methods for soil depth mapping and may also be effective for mapping other soil properties.展开更多

This paper tackles the relationship between pixels′ actual size and pixels′ spatial resolution through a new method named pixel-resolution mapping (P-RM). The proposed P-RM method derives the equations for pixels′ spatial resolutions (XY-direction) and object′s height (Z-direction) in the real world, while introducing new tilt angle and mounting height calibration methods that do not require special calibration patterns placed in the real world. Both controlled laboratory and actual world experiments were performed and reported. The tests on 3D mensuration using proposed P-RM method showed overall better than 98.7% accuracy in laboratory environments and better than 96% accuracy in real world pedestrian height estimations. The 3D reconstructed images for measured points were also determined with the proposed P-RM method which shows that the proposed method provides a general algorithm for 3D information extraction.展开更多

Typhoon Morakot attacked Taiwan and brought heavy rainfall in August, 2009. In mountainous areas including Central and South Taiwan, the flood and debris flow disasters were induced by the typhoon. In this study, Changhua City is selected as the research region and the Delphi method is employed to interview experts and establish comprehensive evaluation criteria for assessing the evacuation plan on disaster areas. The concept is to combine the landslide potential analysis by geographic information systems with the flood or debris flow maps into the potential hazard map. Meanwhile, analytic hierarchy method (AHP) is comprehensively carried on the expert questionnaire survey for the potential hazard map of the compound disaster states. This paper introduces an algorithm for detecting TWA using Poincare mapping method which is a technique for nonlinear dynamic systems to display periodic behavior. Sample series of beat to beat cycles were selected to prepare Poincare mapping method. Vector Angle Index (VAI), which is the mean of the difference between θi (the angle between the line connecting the i point to the origin and the X axis) and 45 degrees was used to present the presence or absence of TWA. The value of 0.9 rad ≤ VAI ≤ 1.03 rad is accepted as a level determinative for presence of TWA. VAI via Poincare mapping method (PM) is used for correlation analysis with T-wave alternans voltage (Vtwa) by way of the spectral method (SM). The cross-correlation coefficient between Vtwa and VAI is γ = 0.8601. The algorithm can identify the absence and presence of TWA accurately and provide idea for further study of TWA-PM.展开更多

In the mapping techniques, the inverse function of the NURBS geometrical mapping generates singular functions as well as smooth functions by an unconventional choice of control points. It means that the push-forward of the NURBS geometrical mapping that generates singular functions, becomes a piecewise smooth function. However, the mapping method proposed is not able to catch singularities emerging at multiple locations in a domain. Thus, we design the geometrical mapping that generates singular functions for each singular zone in the physical domain. In the design of the geometrical mapping, we should consider the design of control points on the interface between/among patches so that global basis functions are in C0?space. Also, we modify the B-spline functions whose supports include the interface between/among them. The singularity around the crack tip prevents the DDM from optimally converging when the basis functions are polynomials of first order or higher. To overcome this issue,enlightened by the mapped finite element method(FEM) proposed in Ref. [13], we present an optimally convergent mapped DDM in this work, called the mapped DDM(MDDM). It is essentially based on approximating a much smoother function obtained by reformulating the problem with an appropriate auxiliary map. Two numerical examples of crack problems are presented in comparison with the conventional DDM. The results show that the proposed method improves the accuracy of the DDM; moreover, it yields an optimal convergence rate for quadratic interpolating polynomials.展开更多

We assume that the evaluation consists of the classification of the measured data and the prediction of the feature of the gait motion. The method may enable a doctor and a physical therapist to recognize the condition of the patients more easily, and increase the motivation of patient further for rehabilitation. However, it is difficult to divide the gait motion into discrete categories, since the gait motion continuously changes and does not have the clear boundaries. Therefore, the self-organizing map (SOM) that is able to arrange the continuous data on the almost continuous map is employed in order to classify them. And, the feature of the gait motion is predicted by the classification. In this study, we adopt the gravity-center fluctuation (GCF) on the sole as the measured data. First, it is shown that the pattern of the CCF that is obtained by our developed measurement system includes the feature of the gait motion. Secondly, the relation between the pattern of the GCF and the feature of the gait motion that the doctor and the physical therapist evaluate by visual inspection is considered using the SOM. Next, we describe the prediction of following features measured by numerical values: the length of stride, the velocity of walk and the difference of steps that are important for the doctor and the physical therapist to make a diagnosis of the condition of the gait motion in walk rehabilitation. Finally, it is investigated that the position of a new test data that is arranged on the map accords with the prediction. As a consequence, we confirm that the method using the SOM is often useful to classify and predict the condition of the patient.展开更多

Among all foreign students, more than half are medical students. In the teaching of medical imaging for foreign students, imaging probation occupies a very important position. It plays a role as a bridge in the process of the transition from theory to clinical practice. It is particularly important to cultivate students' ability of thinking in images and use appropriate and effective probation teaching forms. In view of the above characteristics, the application of mind map combined with PBL teaching method in medical imaging teaching plays an important role in promoting the formation of a complete and systematic knowledge structure system for foreign students. At the same time, it is also convenient for trainee teachers to monitor the learning dynamics of foreign students in real time, attract the attention of foreign students in studying medical imaging, promote the interaction between teachers and students, activate the classroom atmosphere, and fully and timely deepen the communication and emotional exchange between teachers and students;The mind map combined with PBL teaching method can fully mobilize the learning interest of foreign students, enable foreign students to have a more thorough understanding of the learning content, and further deepen the memory of what they have learned. 文摘In this paper, we extend the mapping transformation method through introducing variable coefficients.By means of the extended mapping transformation method, many explicit and exact general solutions with arbitrary functions for some nonlinear partial differential equations, which contain solitary wave solutions, trigonometric function solutions, and rational solutions, are obtained.
文摘In recent years, global warming has gradually become obvious, thus created the climate change. Typhoon Morakot attacked Taiwan and brought heavy rainfall in August, 2009. In mountainous areas including Central and South Taiwan, the flood and debris flow disasters were induced by the typhoon. In this study, Changhua City is selected as the research region and the Delphi method is employed to interview experts and establish comprehensive evaluation criteria for assessing the evacuation plan on disaster areas. The concept is to combine the landslide potential analysis by geographic information systems with the flood or debris flow maps into the potential hazard map. Meanwhile, analytic hierarchy method (AHP) is comprehensively carried on the expert questionnaire survey for the potential hazard map of the compound disaster states. It should be useful for the local government and native people in the future.

文摘The stochastic response of a noisy system with non-negative restoring force is investigated. The generalized cell mapping (GCM) method compute the transient and stationary probability density functions (PDFs) real-power is used to Combined with the global properties of the noise-free system, the evolutionary process of the tran- sient PDFs is revealed. The results show that stochastic P-bifurcation occurs when the system parameter varies in the response analysis and the stationary PDF evolves from bimodal to unimodal along the unstable manifold during the bifurcation.
文摘Presently T-wave alternans (TWA) has become a clinical index of non-invasive diagnosis for heart sudden death prediction, and detecting T-wave alternate accurately is particularly important. This paper introduces an algorithm for detecting TWA using Poincare mapping method which is a technique for nonlinear dynamic systems to display periodic behavior. Sample series of beat to beat cycles were selected to prepare Poincare mapping method. Vector Angle Index (VAI), which is the mean of the difference between θi (the angle between the line connecting the i point to the origin and the X axis) and 45 degrees was used to present the presence or absence of TWA. The value of 0.9 rad ≤ VAI ≤ 1.03 rad is accepted as a level determinative for presence of TWA. VAI via Poincare mapping method (PM) is used for correlation analysis with T-wave alternans voltage (Vtwa) by way of the spectral method (SM). The cross-correlation coefficient between Vtwa and VAI is γ = 0.8601. The algorithm can identify the absence and presence of TWA accurately and provide idea for further study of TWA-PM.
文摘In the paper [1], the geometrical mapping techniques based on Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline (NURBS) were introduced to solve an elliptic boundary value problem containing a singularity. In the mapping techniques, the inverse function of the NURBS geometrical mapping generates singular functions as well as smooth functions by an unconventional choice of control points. It means that the push-forward of the NURBS geometrical mapping that generates singular functions, becomes a piecewise smooth function. However, the mapping method proposed is not able to catch singularities emerging at multiple locations in a domain. Thus, we design the geometrical mapping that generates singular functions for each singular zone in the physical domain. In the design of the geometrical mapping, we should consider the design of control points on the interface between/among patches so that global basis functions are in C0?space. Also, we modify the B-spline functions whose supports include the interface between/among them. We put the idea in practice by solving elliptic boundary value problems containing multiple singularities.
文摘This paper obtains a strong convergence theorem for k-strictly pseudo-contractive mapping under the framework of Hilbert spaces using CQ method. Due to the fact that non-expansive mapping is only O-strictly pseudo-contractive, the main result obtained in this paper extends the corresponding main result of Nakajo-Takahashi from non-expansive mapping to k-strictly pseudo-contractive one, where k∈ [0,1).

文摘In this article, we introduce a new viscosity iterative method for two nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert spaces. We also prove, without commutativity assumption, that the iterates converge to a common fixed point of the mappings which solves some variational inequality. The results presented extend the corresponding results of Shimizu and Takahashi IT. Shimizu, W. Takahashi, Strong convergence to common fixed point of families of nonexpansive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 211 (1997), 71-83], and Yao and Chen [Y. Yao, R. Chert, Convergence to common fixed points of average mappings without commutativity assumption in Hilbert spaces, Nonlinear Analysis 67(2007), 1758-1763].

文摘The displacement discontinuity method(DDM) is a kind of boundary element method aiming at modeling two-dimensional linear elastic crack problems. The singularity around the crack tip prevents the DDM from optimally converging when the basis functions are polynomials of first order or higher. To overcome this issue,enlightened by the mapped finite element method(FEM) proposed in Ref. [13], we present an optimally convergent mapped DDM in this work, called the mapped DDM(MDDM). It is essentially based on approximating a much smoother function obtained by reformulating the problem with an appropriate auxiliary map. Two numerical examples of crack problems are presented in comparison with the conventional DDM. The results show that the proposed method improves the accuracy of the DDM; moreover, it yields an optimal convergence rate for quadratic interpolating polynomials.

文摘In this article, we introduce a hybrid iterative scheme for finding a common element of the set of solutions for a generalized equilibrium problems, the set of common fixed point for a family of infinite k-strict pseudo-contractive mappings, and the set of solutions of the variational inclusion problem with multi-valued maximal monotone mappings and inverse-strongly monotone mappings in Hilbert space. Under suitable conditions, some strong convergence theorems are proved. Our results extends the recent results in G.L.Acedo and H.K.Xu [2], Zhang, Lee and Chan [8], Wakahashi and Toyoda [9], Takahashi and Takahashi [I0] and S. S. Chang, H. W. Joseph Lee and C. K. Chan [II], S.Takahashi and W.Takahashi [12]. Moreover, the method of proof adopted in this article is different from those of [4] and [12].

文摘This paper describes the evaluation method of the gait motion in walk rehabilitation. We assume that the evaluation consists of the classification of the measured data and the prediction of the feature of the gait motion. The method may enable a doctor and a physical therapist to recognize the condition of the patients more easily, and increase the motivation of patient further for rehabilitation. However, it is difficult to divide the gait motion into discrete categories, since the gait motion continuously changes and does not have the clear boundaries. Therefore, the self-organizing map (SOM) that is able to arrange the continuous data on the almost continuous map is employed in order to classify them. And, the feature of the gait motion is predicted by the classification. In this study, we adopt the gravity-center fluctuation (GCF) on the sole as the measured data. First, it is shown that the pattern of the CCF that is obtained by our developed measurement system includes the feature of the gait motion. Secondly, the relation between the pattern of the GCF and the feature of the gait motion that the doctor and the physical therapist evaluate by visual inspection is considered using the SOM. Next, we describe the prediction of following features measured by numerical values: the length of stride, the velocity of walk and the difference of steps that are important for the doctor and the physical therapist to make a diagnosis of the condition of the gait motion in walk rehabilitation. Finally, it is investigated that the position of a new test data that is arranged on the map accords with the prediction. As a consequence, we confirm that the method using the SOM is often useful to classify and predict the condition of the patient.
文摘At present, with the rapid economic and social development in our country, the continuous enhancement of our comprehensive national strength and the increasing international influence, more and more international friends choose to come to China to learn knowledge. Among all foreign students, more than half are medical students. In the teaching of medical imaging for foreign students, imaging probation occupies a very important position. It plays a role as a bridge in the process of the transition from theory to clinical practice. It is particularly important to cultivate students' ability of thinking in images and use appropriate and effective probation teaching forms. In view of the above characteristics, the application of mind map combined with PBL teaching method in medical imaging teaching plays an important role in promoting the formation of a complete and systematic knowledge structure system for foreign students. At the same time, it is also convenient for trainee teachers to monitor the learning dynamics of foreign students in real time, attract the attention of foreign students in studying medical imaging, promote the interaction between teachers and students, activate the classroom atmosphere, and fully and timely deepen the communication and emotional exchange between teachers and students;The mind map combined with PBL teaching method can fully mobilize the learning interest of foreign students, enable foreign students to have a more thorough understanding of the learning content, and further deepen the memory of what they have learned. The mind map combined with PBL teaching method can improve students' ability of self-expression and communication from various aspects, reduce the learning burden of foreign students to a certain extent, improve students' ability of autonomous learning, and enable foreign students to have their own relatively fixed thinking mode when analyzing and dealing with problems.
