Preparation and structure characteristics of nano-Bi_2O_3 powders with mixed crystal structure 被引量:3

The nano-Bi2O3 powders were prepared by a chemical precipitation method with Bi(NO3)3, HNO3 and NaOH as reactants. The structural characteristics and morphology of nano-Bi2O3 powders were investigated by X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy, respectively. The results show that under the optimum condition that 300g/L Bi(NO3)3 reacts at 90℃ for 2h, the Bi2O3 powders with 60nm on the average and 99.5% in purity are obtained. The prepared nano-Bi2O3 powders contain a mixed crystal structure of monoclinic and triclinic instead of traditional structure of monoclinic α-Bi2O3. And the mixed crystal structure is stable in air. The reason for the appearance of the mixed crystal structure may be that the ionic radius ratio of Bi 3+ to O 2- changes easily during the formation of nano-Bi2O3 particles by a chemical precipitation method. 展开更多

The effect of Na-excess content in the precursor on the structural and electrochemical performances of sodium nickel manganese oxide(NNMO)prepared by sol-gel and electrospinning methods is investigated in this paper.X-ray diffraction results of the prepared NNMO without adding Na-excess content indicate sodium loss,while the mixed phase of P2/O′3-type layered NNMO presented after adding Na-excess content.Compared with the sol-gel method,the secondary phase of NiO is more suppressed by using the electrospinning method,which is further confirmed by field emission scanning electron microscope images.N_(2) adsorption-desorption isotherms show no remarkably difference in specific surface areas between different preparation methods and Na-excess contents.The analysis of X-ray absorption near edge structure indicates that the oxidation states of Ni and Mn are+2 and+4,respectively.For the electrochemical properties,superior electrochemical performance is observed in the NNMO electrode with a low Na-excess content of 5wt%.The highest specific capacitance is 36.07 F·g^(-1)at0.1 A·g^(-1)in the NNMO electrode prepared by using the sol-gel method.By contrast,the NNMO electrode prepared using the electrospinning method with decreased Na-excess content shows excellent cycling stability of 100%after charge-discharge measurements for 300 cycles.Therefore,controlling the Na excess in the precursor together with the preparation method is important for improving the electrochemical performance of Na-based electrode materials in supercapacitors. 展开更多

XRD, SEM, TEM and HRTEM were used to characterize the structure and morphology of Bi powders and Bi2O3 ... α-Bi2O3 powders were prepared from nanometer Bi powders through low-temperature oxidation at less than 873.15 K. XRD, SEM, TEM and HRTEM were used to characterize the structure and morphology of Bi powders and Bi2O3 particles. Kinetic studies on the bismuth oxidation at low-temperatures were carried out by TGA method. The results show that bismuth beads should be reunited and oxidized to become irregular Bi2O3 powders. The bismuth oxidation follows shrinking core model, and its controlling mechanism varies at different reaction time. Within 0-10 min, the kinetics is controlled by chemical reaction, after that it is controlled by O2 diffusion in the solid α-Bi2O3 layer. The apparent activation energy is determined as 55.19 kJ/mol in liquid-phase oxidation. 展开更多

The deformation behaviors of Al2O3/Al composites were investigated by compressive tests conducted at temperature of 300-450 °C and strain rates of 0.001-1.0 s-1 with Gleeble-1500 D thermal simulator system. The results show that the flow stress increases with increasing strain rate and decreasing temperature. The hyperbolic sine constitutive equation can describe the flow stress behavior of Al2O3/Al composites, and the deformation activation energy and constitutive equations were calculated. The processing maps of Al2O3/Al-2 μm and Al2O3/Al-1 μm composites at strain of 0.6 were obtained and the optimum processing domains are in ranges of 300-330 °C, 0.007-0.03 s-1 and 335-360 °C, 0.015-0.06 s-1 for hot working, respectively. The instability zones of flow behavior can also be recognized by the maps. 展开更多

Ultrafine alumina power was obtained by calcining the precursor at 1 200 ℃ for 2 h, which was prepared by homogeneous precipitation method using aluminium salts and urea as raw materials. The effects of anions on the morphology, particle size, surface area and configuration of the precursors were studied. The results show that the reactions of urea with aluminium nitrate and aluminium chloride result in agglomerates gels with bad filtering performance, the morphology is fibrillar. Aluminium sulphate-urea reactions result in the direct formation of amorphous powders with good filtering performance, of which morphology are regular spherical particles with larger granularity and smaller surface area. The reaction of mutual compound of aluminium sulphate and aluminium nitrate with molar ratio of 40:60 with urea can produce precursor with good filtering performance, spherical morphology, and uniform granularity distribution in the particle size range of 2-3 μm. 展开更多

W-2 wt.%Y2O3 composite material with uniform distribution of yttrium element was fabricated through processes of mechanical alloying (MA) and spark plasma sintering (SPS). The relevant productions were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The XRD showed that the W-2 wt.%Y2O3 composite powder, including tungsten matrix and Y2O3 particles, was refined to nanometer sizes during the MA process. The SEM and TEM micrographs showed that the MA produced composite powder presented a lamellar morphology and contained many dislocations and microcracks. The EDS showed that the Y and O elements were uniformly distributed in the W matrix after mechanically alloying for 15 h. The W-2 wt.%Y2O3 composite material with uniform distribution of yttrium was obtained by sintering of the MA produced composite powder. 展开更多

To improve the wear resistance of magnesium alloy,the laser surface cladding of AZ31B magnesium alloy with Al-12 % Si and Al2O3-40 % TiO2 composite powders (in the wt.% ratio of 10:1,6:1,4:1) were investigated by using a 5kW continuous wave CO2 laser.A detailed microstructure and phase analysis of the surface modified layer were studied by optics microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS),X-ray diffraction(XRD).The microstructure of the surface modified layers mainly consist of Al-Mg matrix,dendrite precipitates and Al2O3,TiO2 ceramic particles.The microhardness of the surface layer were measured and wear resistance property were evaluated in details.The average microhardness of the surface layers were significantly improved to 250HV0.05 as compared with 50HV0.05 of the AZ31B substrate.The results showed that the wear resistance of the laser surface modified samples was considerably improved as compared as the as-received specimen. 展开更多
