Impulse switching functions are later investigated using direct and inverse z-transformation. The results make possible to present those functions as infinite series expressed in pure numerical, exponential or trigonometric forms. The main advantage of used approach is the possibility to calculate investigated variables directly in any instant of time;dynamic state can be solved with the step of sequences (T/6, T/12) that means very fast. Theoretically derived waveforms are compared with simulation worked-out results as well as results of circuit emulator LT spice which are given in the paper.展开更多

The effect of parameters of coil on the electromagnetic force density fy was analyzed. The results show that the maximum electromagnetic force density fy, max in sheet appears in the position near the inner radius of single-turn coil. The position is independent of section shape of coil. fy, max for flat coil is larger than that for long coil and the coil with wedge shape section, while section areas of all coils are equal to each other. The effect of turn number of multiple-turn coil on fy is dependent on the loop resistance in circuit. The kind of coil with more turns and larger inductance is commended while there is larger loop resistance in circuit. fy increases in a certain magnitude while a magnetic core is located in coil. However, the magnitude of fy is limited by saturating magnetic flux of the core.展开更多

First, the physical characteristics of the impulse in momentum, such as motion and energy, were analyzed and formulated. Then, experimental response to a new pulse with two harmonic expansions was studied. The first harmonic is the main pulse to drive the arm, and the second harmonic has two functions: its first half helps the main pulse eliminate the dead zone, and its second half, a negative pulse, stops the arm motion quickly. Finally, an impulse feedback controller was developed. Comparison between simulation and experiments shows the effectiveness of the proposed controller.展开更多

However, the mechanism causing hypoxia during sleep in SVCS patients is still uncertain. The aim of this study was to elucidate 1) the changes in central and peripheral respiratory resistance with SVCS, and 2) interpret the mechanism underlying the development of hypoxia during sleep in patients with SVCS related to OSA. Ten SVCS patients related to a neoplasm were recruited for this study. The degree of apnea hypopnea index (AHI) for OSA was evaluated by portable diagnosing device before and after SVCS treatment. We also analyzed the airway resistance and reactance quantitatively in the supine position by Master Screen impulse oscillometry system (MS-IOS?). After SVCS treatment, mean values of AHI were significantly decreased from 30.9 to 16.9 (/hour) (p = 0.001). Central respiratory resistance (R20) also decreased significantly from 0.40 to 0.33 kPa/L/s (p = 0.025) in the supine position. In contrast, peripheral respiratory resistance (R5-R20) and distal capacitive reactance (X5) did not change significantly. It is thought that the exacerbation of OSA due to SVCS is caused by increasing upper airway resistance related to reversible edema of the upper airway mucous or tissue. In contrast, SVCS may not cause peripheral respiratory tract and lung parenchyma edema.展开更多

Obviously, these functions are harmonic but using power converters they can be strongly non-harmonic, sometimes piecewise constants with zero spaces between them. Then, one deals with power series of time pulses. The impulse switching functions which are orthogonal ones can be derived from these series. The new impulse switching functions are created using Z-transform, inverse Z-transform and numerical series/sequences. The impulse switching functions created this way can be used for both steady- and transient state investigation of converters.展开更多
