Particle-in-cell (PIC) method has got much benefits from GPU-accelerated heterogeneous systems.However,the performance of PIC is constrained by the interpolation operations in the weighting process on GPU (graphic processing unit).Aiming at this problem,a fast weighting method for PIC simulation on GPU-accelerated systems was proposed to avoid the atomic memory operations during the weighting process.The method was implemented by taking advantage of GPU's thread synchronization mechanism and dividing the problem space properly.Moreover,software managed shared memory on the GPU was employed to buffer the intermediate data.The experimental results show that the method achieves speedups up to 3.5 times compared to previous works,and runs 20.08 times faster on one NVIDIA Tesla M2090 GPU compared to a single core of Intel Xeon X5670 CPU. 展开更多

This paper mainly focuses on the velocity-constrained consensus problem of discrete-time heterogeneous multi-agent systems with nonconvex constraints and arbitrarily switching topologies,where each agent has first-order or second-order dynamics.To solve this problem,a distributed algorithm is proposed based on a contraction operator.By employing the properties of the stochastic matrix,it is shown that all agents’position states could converge to a common point and second-order agents’velocity states could remain in corresponding nonconvex constraint sets and converge to zero as long as the joint communication topology has one directed spanning tree.Finally,the numerical simulation results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms. 展开更多

Hydroformylation of olefins is one of the highest-volume industrial reactions to meet the vast demands for aldehydes as well as their derivatives.Homogeneous Co complexes were the original catalysts industrialized since 1960s.Heterogeneous catalysis is considered superior owing to the facile separation of catalysts from products,shorter technical process,and reduced manufacturing costs.Unexpectedly,there has not been a single case of plant using heterogenized Co-based catalyst successfully.To address the separation issue and understand the catalytic mechanism of the reactions,this review summarizes the progress in heterogeneous systems and provides a detailed discussion of their catalytic performance.Strategies for stabilizing Co species through support modification and additive incorporation are carefully considered to elucidate why heterogeneous systems have not yet succeeded on an industrial scale.Furthermore,we provide our insights for the development of heterogeneous catalytic hydroformylation,including the challenges,opportunities,and outlooks.The aim is to deepen the fundamental understanding of heterogeneous alkene hydroformylation,guiding the community's research efforts towards realizing its successful application in the future. 展开更多

For large-scale heterogeneous multi-agent systems(MASs)with characteristics of dense-sparse mixed distribution,this paper investigates the practical finite-time deployment problem by establishing a novel crossspecies bionic analytical framework based on the partial differential equation-ordinary differential equation(PDE-ODE)approach.Specifically,by designing a specialized network communication protocol and employing the spatial continuum method for densely distributed agents,this paper models the tracking errors of densely distributed agents as a PDE equivalent to a human disease transmission model,and that of sparsely distributed agents as several ODEs equivalent to the predator population models.The coupling relationship between the PDE and ODE models is established through boundary conditions of the PDE,thereby forming a PDE-ODE-based tracking error model for the considered MASs.Furthermore,by integrating adaptive neural control scheme with the aforementioned biological models,a“Flexible Neural Network”endowed with adaptive and self-stabilized capabilities is constructed,which acts upon the considered MASs,enabling their practical finite-time deployment.Finally,effectiveness of the developed approach is illustrated through a numerical example. 展开更多

In this paper, distributed event-triggered performance constraint control is proposed for Heterogeneous Multiagent Systems (HMASs) including quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicles and unmanned ground vehicles in the presence of unknown external disturbances. To tackle the problem of different dynamic characteristics and facilitate the controller design, the virtual variable is introduced in the z axis of the nonlinear model of unmanned ground vehicles. By using this approach, a universal model is established for the HMAS. Moreover, a distributed disturbance observer is established to cope with the adverse influence of the external disturbances. Then, an Appointed-Time Prescribed Performance Function (ATPPF) is designed to restrict the tracking error in the predefined regions. On this basis, the distributed performance constraint controller is proposed for the HMAS based on the ATPPF and the distributed disturbance observer. Furthermore, the improved event-triggered mechanism is proposed with a dynamic threshold, which depends on the distance between the tracking error and the boundary of the ATPPF. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed control method is verified by the comparative experiments on an HMAS. 展开更多

This paper studies a cooperative relay transmission system within the framework of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output Radio Frequency/Underwater Optical Wireless Communication(MIMO-RF/UOWC),aiming to establish sea-based heterogeneous networks.In this setup,the RF links obey κ-μ fading,while the UOWC links undergo the generalized Gamma fading with the pointing error impairments.The relay operates under an Amplify-and-Forward(AF)protocol.Additionally,the attenuation caused by the Absorption and Scattering(AaS)is considered in UOWC links.The work yields precise results for the Average Channel Capacity(ACC),Outage Probability(OP),and average Bit Error Rate(BER).Furthermore,to reveal deeper insights,bounds on the ACC and asymptotic results for the OP and average BER are derived.The findings highlight the superior performance of MIMO-RF/UOWC AF systems compared to Single-Input-Single-Output(SISO)-RF/UOWC AF systems.Various factors affecting the Diversity Gain(DG)of the MIMO-RF/UOWC AF system include the number of antennas/apertures,fading parameters of both links,and pointing error parameters.Moreover,while an increase in the AaS effect can result in significant attenuation,it does not determine the achievable DG of the proposed MIMO-RF/UOWC AF relaying system. 展开更多

The conventional dynamic heterogeneous redundancy(DHR)architecture suffers from the security threats caused by the stability differences and similar vulnerabilities among the executors.To overcome these challenges,we propose an intelligent DHR architecture,which is more feasible by intelligently combining the random distribution based dynamic scheduling algorithm(RD-DS)and information weight and heterogeneity based arbitrament(IWHA)algorithm.In the proposed architecture,the random distribution function and information weight are employed to achieve the optimal selection of executors in the process of RD-DS,which avoids the case that some executors fail to be selected due to their stability difference in the conventional DHR architecture.Then,through introducing the heterogeneity to restrict the information weights in the procedure of the IWHA,the proposed architecture solves the common mode escape issue caused by the existence of multiple identical error output results of similar vulnerabilities.The experimental results characterize that the proposed architecture outperforms in heterogeneity,scheduling times,security,and stability over the conventional DHR architecture under the same conditions. 展开更多

Within the context of ground-air cooperation,the distributed formation trajectory tracking control problems for the Heterogeneous Multi-Agent Systems(HMASs)is studied.First,considering external disturbances and model uncertainties,a graph theory-based formation control protocol is designed for the HMASs consisting of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)and Unmanned Ground Vehicles(UGVs).Subsequently,a formation trajectory tracking control strategy employing adaptive Fractional-Order Sliding Mode Control(FOSMC)method is developed,and a Feedback Multilayer Fuzzy Neural Network(FMFNN)is introduced to estimate the lumped uncertainties.This approach empowers HMASs to adaptively follow the expected trajectory and adopt the designated formation configuration,even in the presence of various uncertainties.Additionally,an event-triggered mechanism is incorporated into the controller to reduce the update frequency of the controller and minimize the communication exchange among the agents,and the absence of Zeno behavior is rigorously demonstrated by an integral inequality analysis.Finally,to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed formation control protocol,some numerical simulations are presented. 展开更多

Currently,the demand for electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorbing materials with specific functions and capable of withstanding harsh environments is becoming increasingly urgent.Multi-component interface engineering is considered an effective means to achieve high-efficiency EMW absorption.However,interface modulation engineering has not been fully discussed and has great potential in the field of EMW absorption.In this study,multi-component tin compound fiber composites based on carbon fiber(CF)substrate were prepared by electrospinning,hydrothermal synthesis,and high-temperature thermal reduction.By utilizing the different properties of different substances,rich heterogeneous interfaces are constructed.This effectively promotes charge transfer and enhances interfacial polarization and conduction loss.The prepared SnS/SnS_(2)/SnO_(2)/CF composites with abundant heterogeneous interfaces have and exhibit excellent EMW absorption properties at a loading of 50 wt%in epoxy resin.The minimum reflection loss(RL)is−46.74 dB and the maximum effective absorption bandwidth is 5.28 GHz.Moreover,SnS/SnS_(2)/SnO_(2)/CF epoxy composite coatings exhibited long-term corrosion resistance on Q235 steel surfaces.Therefore,this study provides an effective strategy for the design of high-efficiency EMW absorbing materials in complex and harsh environments. 展开更多

Effects of connected automated vehicle on stability and energy consumption of heterogeneous traffic flow system

With the development of intelligent and interconnected traffic system,a convergence of traffic stream is anticipated in the foreseeable future,where both connected automated vehicle(CAV)and human driven vehicle(HDV)will coexist.In order to examine the effect of CAV on the overall stability and energy consumption of such a heterogeneous traffic system,we first take into account the interrelated perception of distance and speed by CAV to establish a macroscopic dynamic model through utilizing the full velocity difference(FVD)model.Subsequently,adopting the linear stability theory,we propose the linear stability condition for the model through using the small perturbation method,and the validity of the heterogeneous model is verified by comparing with the FVD model.Through nonlinear theoretical analysis,we further derive the KdV-Burgers equation,which captures the propagation characteristics of traffic density waves.Finally,by numerical simulation experiments through utilizing a macroscopic model of heterogeneous traffic flow,the effect of CAV permeability on the stability of density wave in heterogeneous traffic flow and the energy consumption of the traffic system is investigated.Subsequent analysis reveals emergent traffic phenomena.The experimental findings demonstrate that as CAV permeability increases,the ability to dampen the propagation of fluctuations in heterogeneous traffic flow gradually intensifies when giving system perturbation,leading to enhanced stability of the traffic system.Furthermore,higher initial traffic density renders the traffic system more susceptible to congestion,resulting in local clustering effect and stop-and-go traffic phenomenon.Remarkably,the total energy consumption of the heterogeneous traffic system exhibits a gradual decline with CAV permeability increasing.Further evidence has demonstrated the positive influence of CAV on heterogeneous traffic flow.This research contributes to providing theoretical guidance for future CAV applications,aiming to enhance urban road traffic efficiency and alleviate congestion. 展开更多

In this paper,a class of time-varying output group formation containment control problem of general linear hetero-geneous multiagent systems(MASs)is investigated under directed topology.The MAS is composed of a number of tracking leaders,formation leaders and followers,where two different types of leaders are used to provide reference trajectories for movement and to achieve certain formations,respectively.Firstly,compen-sators are designed whose states are estimations of tracking lead-ers,based on which,a controller is developed for each formation leader to accomplish the expected formation.Secondly,two event-triggered compensators are proposed for each follower to evalu-ate the state and formation information of the formation leaders in the same group,respectively.Subsequently,a control protocol is designed for each follower,utilizing the output information,to guide the output towards the convex hull generated by the forma-tion leaders within the group.Next,the triggering sequence in this paper is decomposed into two sequences,and the inter-event intervals of these two triggering conditions are provided to rule out the Zeno behavior.Finally,a numerical simulation is intro-duced to confirm the validity of the proposed results. 展开更多

Heterogeneous metal-catalyzed chemical conversions with a recyclable catalyst are very ideal and challenging for sustainable organic synthesis.A new bipyridyl-Mo(IV)-carbon nitride(CN-K/Mo-Bpy)was prepared by supporting molybdenum complex on C_(3)N_(4)-K and characterized by FT-IR,XRD,SEM,XPS and ICP-OES.Heterogeneous CN–Mo-Bpy catalyst can be applied to the direct amination of nitroarenes and arylboronic acid,thus constructing various valuable diarylamines in high to excellent yields with a wide substrate scope and good functional group tolerance.It is worth noting that this heterogeneous catalyst has high chemical stability and can be recycled for at least five times without reducing its activity. 展开更多

Current research on heterogeneous advanced oxidation processes(HAOPs)predominantly emphasizes catalyst iteration and innovation.Significant efforts have been made to regulate the electron structure and optimize the electron distribution,thereby increasing the catalytic activity.However,this focus often overshadows an equally essential aspect of HAOPs:the adsorption effect.Adsorption is a critical initiator for triggering the interaction of oxidants and contaminants with heterogeneous catalysts.The efficacy of these interactions is influenced by a variety of physicochemical properties,including surface chemistry and pore sizes,which determine the affinities between contaminants and material surfaces.This dispar ity in affinity is pivotal because it underpins the selective removal of contaminants,especially in complex waste streams containing diverse contaminants and competing matrices.Consequently,understanding and mastering these interfacial interactions is fundamentally indispensable not only for improving pro cess efficiency but also for enhancing the selectivity of contaminant removal.Herein,we highlight the importance of adsorption-driven interfacial interactions for fundamentally elucidating the catalytic mechanisms of HAOPs.Such interactions dictate the overall performance of the treatment processes by balancing the adsorption,reaction,and desorption rates on the catalyst surfaces.Elucidating the adsorption effect not only shifts the paradigm in understanding HAOPs but also improves their practical ity in water treatment and wastewater decontamination.Overall,we propose that revisiting adsorption driven interfacial interactions holds great promise for optimizing catalytic processes to develop effective HAOP strategies. 展开更多

In scenarios such as vehicle radiation monitoring and unmanned aerial vehicle radiation detection,rapid measurements using a NaI(Tl)detector often result in low photon counts,weak characteristic peaks,and significant statistical fluctuations.These issues can lead to potential failures in peak-searching-based identification methods.To address the low precision associated with short-duration measurements of radionuclides,this paper proposes an identification algorithm that leverages heterogeneous spectral transfer to develop a low-count energy spectral identification model.Comparative experiments demonstrated that transferring samples from 26 classes of simulated heterogeneous gamma spectra aids in creating a reliable model for measured gamma spectra.With only 10%of target domain samples used for training,the accuracy on real low-count spectral samples was 95.56%.This performance shows a significant improvement over widely employed full-spectrum analysis methods trained on target domain samples.The proposed method also exhibits strong generalization capabilities,effectively mitigating overfitting issues in low-count energy spectral classification under short-duration measurements. 展开更多

Developing alloys with exceptional strength-ductility combinations across a broad temperature range is crucial for advanced structural applications.The emerging face-centered cubic medium-entropy alloys(MEAs)demonstrate outstanding mechanical properties at both ambient and cryogenic temperatures.They are anticipated to extend their applicability to elevated temperatures,owing to their inherent advantages in leveraging multiple strengthening and deformation mechanisms.Here,a dual heterostructure,comprising of heterogeneous grain structure with heterogeneous distribution of the micro-scale Nb-rich Laves phases,is introduced in a CrCoNi-based MEA through thermo-mechanical processing.Additionally,a high-density nano-coherentγ’phase is introduced within the grains through isothermal aging treatments.The superior thermal stability of the heterogeneously distributed precipitates enables the dual heterostructure to persist at temperatures up to 1073 K,allowing the MEA to maintain excellent mechanical properties across a wide temperature range.The yield strength of the dual-heterogeneous-structured MEA reaches up to 1.2 GPa,1.1 GPa,0.8 GPa,and 0.6 GPa,coupled with total elongation values of 28.6%,28.4%,12.6%,and 6.1%at 93 K,298 K,873 K,and 1073 K,respectively.The high yield strength primar-ily stems from precipitation strengthening and hetero-deformation-induced strengthening.The high flow stress and low stacking fault energy of the dual-heterogeneous-structured MEA promote the formation of high-density stacking faults and nanotwins during deformation from 93 K to 1073 K,and their density increase with decreasing deformation temperature.This greatly contributes to the enhanced strainhardening capability and ductility across a wide temperature range.This study offers a practical solution for designing dual-heterogeneous-structured MEAs with both high yield strength and large ductility across a wide temperature range. 展开更多

In this work,a heterogeneous structure(HS)with an alternating distribution of coarse and fineαlamella is fabricated in bimodal Ti6242 alloy via insufficient diffusion of alloying elements induced by fast heat-ing treatment.Instead of a distinct interface between the primaryα_(p)hase(α_(p))andβ_(t)ransformation microstructure(β_(t))in the equiaxed microstructure(EM),allα_(p)/β_(t)interfaces are eliminated in the HS,and the largeα_(p)phases are replaced by coarseαlamella.Compared to the EM alloy,the heterostruc-tured alloy exhibits a superior strength-ductility combination.The enhanced strength is predominantly attributed to the increased interfaces ofα/βplates and hetero-deformation induced(HDI)strengthening caused by back stress.Meanwhile,good ductility is ascribed to its uniform distribution of coarse and fineαlamella,which effectively inhibits strain localization and generates an extra HDI hardening.This can be evidenced by the accumulated geometrically necessary dislocations(GNDs)induced by strain partitioning of the heterostructure.Significantly,the HDI causes extra<c+a>dislocations piling up in the coarseαlamella,which generates an extra strain hardening to further improve the ductility.Such hetero-interface coordinated deformation mechanism sheds light on a new perspective for tailoring bimodal titanium al-loys with excellent mechanical properties. 展开更多
