The stretched sheets have a unique mechanical character that an increased tensile modulus is accompanied by an increased extensibility with increasing the draw ratio. Especially, a sharp increasing of the extensibility is observed for PETG/PC (70/30 wt%) blends at draw ratios between 8.2 and 20.0, where a nine times increase of extensibility is achieved. The mechanism of stretching-induced superior extensibility is investigated via micrograph observation, rheometry and calorimetric analysis. The observed superior extensibility could be tentatively explained by the bridging effect of the PC microfibrils on the crack development during tensile failure.展开更多

Most of the TLPs are multi-mooring systems, where multi-joints are connected to the tension-legs so that the platform is not allowed to twist freely and may subject to enormous force induced by large incident waves in the weak-direction of the structure. This study aims to exploit a single moored offshore platform system that may attract less force and can be operated with less effort. In our analysis, in addition to mechanical properties of the tether, two important properties are also taken into consideration for the single mooring tether with expanded cross sectional dimension and utilization of stronger material, namely, the sag-extensibility and the flexural rigidity. Finally, the dynamic structural behavior produced by the mechanical effects on the new system is investigated and compared with that of traditional design while the wave-structure interactions of large body are also accounted for. Our study finds that the neglect of sag-extensibility or the flexural rigidity of large, strong mooring cable may result in a conservative but not necessarily safe design.展开更多

Since pressure garments are subjected to appreciable stress during wear, seams with the required strength and extensiblity are particular important.The seam type, stitch type, stitch density and thread strength are the main factors determining the strength and extensibility of a seam. In this paper, investigation of seam strength and extensibility are made on four types of seams which have been used for making pressure garments. Five different types of stitch densities and two sizes of sewing thread are used on each type of scam to be tested. The seaming conditions of the selected fabric are also examined.展开更多

How the subduction direction of the Paleo-Pacific plate beneath the Eurasian plate changes in the Early Cretaceous remains highly controversial due to the disappearance of the subducted oceanic plate.Intraplate deform...How the subduction direction of the Paleo-Pacific plate beneath the Eurasian plate changes in the Early Cretaceous remains highly controversial due to the disappearance of the subducted oceanic plate.Intraplate deformation structures in the east Asian continent,however,provide excellent opportunities for reconstructing paleostress fields in continental interior in relation to the Paleo-Pacific/Eurasian plate interaction.Anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility(AMS),geological,and geochronological analyses of post-kinematic mafic dykes intruding the detachment fault zone of the Wulian metamorphic core complex(WL MCC)in Jiaodong Peninsula exemplify emplacement of mantle-sourced dykes in a WNW-ESE(301°-121°)oriented tectonic extensional setting at ca.120 Ma.In combination with the results from our previous kinematic analysis of the MCC,a ca.21°clockwise change in the direction of intraplate extension is obtained for early(135-122 Ma)extensional exhumation of the MCC to late(122-108 Ma)emplacement of the dykes.Such a change is suggested to be related to the variation in subduction direction of the Paleo-Pacific plate beneath the Eurasian plate,from westward(pre-122 Ma)to west-northwestward(post-122 Ma).展开更多

The tectonic setting of the Himalaya during the Early Paleozoic has been a subject of enduring debate within the scientific community.Newly discovered bimodal intrusive rocks from comprehensive field geological invest...The tectonic setting of the Himalaya during the Early Paleozoic has been a subject of enduring debate within the scientific community.Newly discovered bimodal intrusive rocks from comprehensive field geological investigation in the central mountain range were subjected to petrology,zircon U-Pb geochronology,zircon Hf isotopes and whole-rock geochemistry analyses.The Palie bimodal intrusive rocks,comprising amphibolite and granitic gneiss,were formed at~489 Ma.The amphibolite exhibits geochemical characteristics consistent with N-MORB,while the granitic gneiss is classified as high potassium calc-alkaline peraluminous S-type granite.Both igneous rocks exhibit negative zirconε_(Hf)(t)values and display ancient T_(DM)^(C)ages.In conjunction with regional geological survey findings,it can be inferred that the formation of the Palie bimodal intrusive rocks occurred within a post-collision extensional tectonic setting.The amphibolite genesis involved partial melting of an enriched lithospheric mantle with some crustal assimilation,whereas the origin of the granitic gneiss can be attributed to partial melting of pre-existing felsic crust.Our data indicate that during the Early Paleozoic,the Himalaya underwent a transition from a pan-African collisional setting to post-collisional extensional tectonics.展开更多

BACKGROUND Gallbladder cancer is a highly malignant and aggressive tumor,often diagnosed at an advanced stage.The prognosis for advanced gallbladder cancer remains poor,with limited options for effective treatment.CAS...BACKGROUND Gallbladder cancer is a highly malignant and aggressive tumor,often diagnosed at an advanced stage.The prognosis for advanced gallbladder cancer remains poor,with limited options for effective treatment.CASE SUMMARY A 65-year-old male patient presented with a soft tissue mass in the gallbladder.Following laparoscopic exploration,he underwent radical surgery for gallbladder cancer,with the tumor staged as pT2N1M0(stage III).Post-surgery,the patient received four cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy.However,one month later,over 60 metastatic lesions were detected in the liver,lungs,and lymph nodes.In response to the widespread metastasis,he underwent six cycles of combination therapy consisting of sintilimab,albumin-bound paclitaxel,and cisplatin.After two cycles,a partial response was achieved.Maintenance therapy was initiated with a combination of sintilimab and albumin-bound paclitaxel for four cycles.Monotherapy with sintilimab was continued thereafter until October 2023.Complete remission was confirmed in September 2021.The patient sustained this complete response for more than three years,including an eleven-month period without disease progression following the discontinuation of sintilimab.Genetic analysis revealed a tumor mutational burden of 15.4 mutations/megabase,which indicates a potentially favorable response to immunotherapy.CONCLUSION This case demonstrates the potential of combining immunotherapy(sintilimab)with chemotherapy to achieve durable remission in metastatic gallbladder cancer,even in a patient with extensive metastasis.In addition,it indicated the importance of tumor mutational burden as a predictive biomarker of immunotherapy.展开更多
Mechanism of discontinuous precipitation(DP) in AZ80 alloy was investigated by phase-orientation correlated characterization.The results show DPs nucleate by turning the original grain boundaries(GBs) as reaction fron...Mechanism of discontinuous precipitation(DP) in AZ80 alloy was investigated by phase-orientation correlated characterization.The results show DPs nucleate by turning the original grain boundaries(GBs) as reaction front(RF),and further driving the RF to realize their growth.The DPs regions retained the same orientations as their parent grains.The misorientation angle and rotation axis of RFs had strong influence on DPs nucleation.The low-angle GBs,twin boundaries(TBs) and the GBs with specific misorientation axis which are known as low energy and low mobility GBs can hardly initiate DPs.In addition,the TBs had a strong ability to inhibit the growth of DPs,but it should be noticed that the growth of DPs cannot be totally inhibited by TBs.DPs can engulf the twins when the growth direction is approximately parallel to the long axis of TBs.The inhibition behavior is related to the distribution of Al solute atoms near the RF,boundary interactions of the TBs and twin tips with the RF,and the morphology of the continuous precipitations within the twins.展开更多
This study aimed to investigate the anti-aging effects of black rice-anthocyanin(BRA)in Drosophila melanogaster and HUVEC cells.In this study,the strong antioxidant activity of BRA in HUVEC cells,D.melanogaster of lif...This study aimed to investigate the anti-aging effects of black rice-anthocyanin(BRA)in Drosophila melanogaster and HUVEC cells.In this study,the strong antioxidant activity of BRA in HUVEC cells,D.melanogaster of lifespan extension,and molecular mechanism were elucidated.Firstly,the BRA increased enzyme activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT),as well as the expression of phosphatidyl inositol 3-kinase(PI3K)/protein kinase B(Akt)protein while decreasing the accumulation of reactive oxygen species(ROS)and malondialdehyde(MDA)in both H_(2)O_(2)-induced HUVEC cells and D.melanogaster.Secondly,the BRA extended the lifespan of D.melanogaster by improving crawling ability and intestine abilities in the microbial environment,barrier function,and number of autophagic lysosomes,as well as inhibiting the abnormal multiplication of stem cells in the intestine.Thirdly,the BRA downregulated expression levels of Akt-1 and mTOR in D.melanogaster while upregulated downstream autophagy gene expression levels of Atg1,Atg5,Atg8a,and Atg8b,as well as the expression levels of SOD,CAT,and 4E-binding protein.Lastly,the anti-aging mechanism was also verified by both the computerized molecular simulation and network pharmacology.Thus,the prolonged lifespan of D.melanogaster by blocking the mTOR pathway and activating autophagy,which could be further used for improving health and prolonging life.展开更多
The fatigue characteristics of rock materials significantly impact the economy and safety of underground structures during construction.Hence,it is essential to conduct further investigation into the progressive damag...The fatigue characteristics of rock materials significantly impact the economy and safety of underground structures during construction.Hence,it is essential to conduct further investigation into the progressive damage processes of rocks under cyclic loading conditions.This research utilised both laboratory experiments and discrete element simulations to investigate how confining pressure and fatigue upper limit stress influence the mechanical behaviour and crack development of marble under low-cycle fatigue conditions.By introducing synthetic displacement and reasonable assumptions,the classical damage evolution law was updated,resulting in a fatigue life prediction formula applicable to various rock materials and loading conditions.The results indicate that lower fatigue upper limit stress can delay the accumulation of damage and extend the fatigue life of the rock,but it results in more severe ultimate failure.The damage variable’s correlation with the relative number of loading cycles for different fatigue load upper limits under the same confining pressure can be approximated by the same functional relationship.The modified damage evolution model provides an effective characterisation of this trend.The proposed fatigue life prediction method comprehensively accounts for different rock materials,confining pressures,loading frequencies,and initial damage,showing a close match with actual results.展开更多
After excavation,some of the surrounding rock mass is in a state of triaxial extension,exhibiting tensile or shear fracture modes.To study the energy mechanism of tensile fracture turning to shear fracture,a series of...After excavation,some of the surrounding rock mass is in a state of triaxial extension,exhibiting tensile or shear fracture modes.To study the energy mechanism of tensile fracture turning to shear fracture,a series of triaxial extension tests were conducted on sandstone under confining pressures of 10,30,50 and 70 MPa.Elastic energy and dissipated energy were separated by single unloading,the input energy u_(t),elastic energy u_(e),and dissipated energy u_(d)at different unloading stress levels were calculated by the integrating stress−strain curves.The results show that tensile cracks dominate fracture under lower confining pressure(10 MPa),and shear cracks play an increasingly important role in fracture as confining pressure increases(30,50 and 70 MPa).Based on the phenomenon that u_(e)and u_(d)increase linearly with increasing u_(t),a possible energy distribution mechanism of fracture mode transition under triaxial extension was proposed.In addition,it was found that peak energy storage capacity is more sensitive to confining pressure compared to elastic energy conversion capacity.展开更多
Mesoscale air-sea interactions play a critical role in damping eddy activities.However,how mesoscale heat flux influences the distribution of eddy kinetic energy(EKE)in the wavenumber space remains unclear.In this stu...Mesoscale air-sea interactions play a critical role in damping eddy activities.However,how mesoscale heat flux influences the distribution of eddy kinetic energy(EKE)in the wavenumber space remains unclear.In this study,we investigate the EKE and temperature variance(T_(var))budgets in the Kuroshio Extension(KE)region using wavenumber spectral analysis based on 1/10°coupled climate simulations.These simulations include a standard high-resolution simulation and a smoothed simulation that overlooks mesoscale heat flux.By comparing the differences between these models,we confirm that air-sea heat exchange significantly dissipates Tvar.Neglecting mesoscale heat flux results in a 60% underestimation of the Tvar damping rate,which in turn increases energy transfer to EKE through the vertical buoyancy flux by 22%.This enhanced vertical buoyancy flux leads to a 20% higher EKE level and larger energy budget terms,particularly in the diffusion term,which is closely related to wind power.Furthermore,underestimating air-sea heat exchange could lead to an overestimation of the inverse kinetic energy cascade,thereby distorting the overall energy budget in the KE region.展开更多

The unique varietal characteristics of SPR are pigmented, glutinous, good-yie...Special Purpose Rice (SPR) is a technology that consists of different rice varieties that were developed by Central Luzon State University. The unique varietal characteristics of SPR are pigmented, glutinous, good-yielding varieties planted in lowland areas. This study was conducted to increase farmers’ income through employing different promotion and extension activities and enterprise development. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Cost and return and benefit-cost analysis were used to determine the financial benefits of using the SPR in different production systems. Results revealed that incorporating the following parameters is critical in the sustainable adoption of the SPR. Amongst them are: ensuring that recommended production technologies are strictly followed by the farmers, ensuring the quality of seeds for planting, the presence of a market for the produce, engaging the farmers in value-adding activities like processing, capability development in entrepreneurship, and adopting clustering approach of the farmers to address economies of scale in marketing and processing. The use of SPR produced an average yield of 6.11 MT/ha and 5.04 MT/ha during the dry and wet seasons from 2021-2023, respectively, higher than the usual varieties of inbred rice. The net benefit from producing a CLS-2 variety of SPR is higher than regular rice, having an average difference of Php 22,355.53 per hectare from 2021-2023.展开更多

Objective:To determine the incidence,risk factors,antibiotic resistance patterns,and outcomes of various nosocomial infections in Intensive Care Unit(ICU)patients.Methods:The present prospective observational study wa...Objective:To determine the incidence,risk factors,antibiotic resistance patterns,and outcomes of various nosocomial infections in Intensive Care Unit(ICU)patients.Methods:The present prospective observational study was conducted in the multidisciplinary ICU of a tertiary care hospital for 6 months.Incidence,risk factors,and outcome parameters were calculated using Mann Whitney U test,Chi-square test,and stepwise univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis.Results:The overall incidence of nosocomial infections was 23.5%(74/314).Ventilator-associated pneumonia was the most common infection(54.1%,52/96),followed by catheter-related bloodstream infections(22.9%,22/96).Stress ulcer prophylaxis(aOR 7.691,95%CI 2.202-26.860,P=0.001),endotracheal intubation(aOR 3.251,95%CI 1.251-8.420,P=0.015),Foley’s catheter(aOR 11.917,95%CI 1.335-106.410,P=0.027),and ICU stay>7 days(aOR 30.915,95%CI 10.062-94.980,P=0.001)were statistically significant risk factors associated with nosocomial infection in ICU patients.Gram-negative bacteria showed a high degree of resistance to most of antibiotics except colistin and tigecycline.Infected group's mortality was significantly greater than the uninfected group(21.62%vs.5.83%P<0.001)and had considerably longer ICU length of stay[21(12)vs.7(4)days,P<0.001]and duration of mechanical ventilation[20(11)days vs.0(5)days,P<0.001].Conclusions:This study highlights the high incidence rate of ventilator-associated pneumonia,with extensive drug resistance in ICU patients,highlighting the need for an optimized antimicrobial stewardship program to develop effective strategies for the management of nosocomial infections.Multifaceted interventions targeting modifiable risk factors are essential to reduce the occurences of these nosocomial infections in ICU patients.展开更多

文摘How the subduction direction of the Paleo-Pacific plate beneath the Eurasian plate changes in the Early Cretaceous remains highly controversial due to the disappearance of the subducted oceanic plate.Intraplate deformation structures in the east Asian continent,however,provide excellent opportunities for reconstructing paleostress fields in continental interior in relation to the Paleo-Pacific/Eurasian plate interaction.Anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility(AMS),geological,and geochronological analyses of post-kinematic mafic dykes intruding the detachment fault zone of the Wulian metamorphic core complex(WL MCC)in Jiaodong Peninsula exemplify emplacement of mantle-sourced dykes in a WNW-ESE(301°-121°)oriented tectonic extensional setting at ca.120 Ma.In combination with the results from our previous kinematic analysis of the MCC,a ca.21°clockwise change in the direction of intraplate extension is obtained for early(135-122 Ma)extensional exhumation of the MCC to late(122-108 Ma)emplacement of the dykes.Such a change is suggested to be related to the variation in subduction direction of the Paleo-Pacific plate beneath the Eurasian plate,from westward(pre-122 Ma)to west-northwestward(post-122 Ma).

文摘In order to solve the problems of high coupling and poor scalability of the traditional monomer early warning release system architecture,multi-level deployment in a complex network environment will lead to high investment in software and hardware and cannot achieve intensive multi-level deployment.This paper realizes the goal of system scalability by introducing micro service architecture and technology stack and realizes the goal of resource intensification by introducing the idea of a data forwarding agent.The designed architecture scheme has been practically applied in the“Jiangxi emergency early warning information release system software platform(phase I)project”(hereinafter referred to as“provincial emergency”),which meets the needs of flexible deployment of multi-level applications across meteorological wide area network(WAN),business private network of other commissions,offices,and bureaus,government extranet,Internet and other complex networks,and fully verifies the scientificity and rationality of the scheme.It has achieved the goal of intensive and scalable construction of provincial emergencies under the complex network environment,greatly improved the early warning capacity and communication capacity of emergencies and comprehensive disasters,provided a reliable guarantee for disaster prevention and reduction,and provided a reference for the construction of current and future early warning release system and capacity improvement project.

文摘The tectonic setting of the Himalaya during the Early Paleozoic has been a subject of enduring debate within the scientific community.Newly discovered bimodal intrusive rocks from comprehensive field geological investigation in the central mountain range were subjected to petrology,zircon U-Pb geochronology,zircon Hf isotopes and whole-rock geochemistry analyses.The Palie bimodal intrusive rocks,comprising amphibolite and granitic gneiss,were formed at~489 Ma.The amphibolite exhibits geochemical characteristics consistent with N-MORB,while the granitic gneiss is classified as high potassium calc-alkaline peraluminous S-type granite.Both igneous rocks exhibit negative zirconε_(Hf)(t)values and display ancient T_(DM)^(C)ages.In conjunction with regional geological survey findings,it can be inferred that the formation of the Palie bimodal intrusive rocks occurred within a post-collision extensional tectonic setting.The amphibolite genesis involved partial melting of an enriched lithospheric mantle with some crustal assimilation,whereas the origin of the granitic gneiss can be attributed to partial melting of pre-existing felsic crust.Our data indicate that during the Early Paleozoic,the Himalaya underwent a transition from a pan-African collisional setting to post-collisional extensional tectonics.

文摘BACKGROUND Gallbladder cancer is a highly malignant and aggressive tumor,often diagnosed at an advanced stage.The prognosis for advanced gallbladder cancer remains poor,with limited options for effective treatment.CASE SUMMARY A 65-year-old male patient presented with a soft tissue mass in the gallbladder.Following laparoscopic exploration,he underwent radical surgery for gallbladder cancer,with the tumor staged as pT2N1M0(stage III).Post-surgery,the patient received four cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy.However,one month later,over 60 metastatic lesions were detected in the liver,lungs,and lymph nodes.In response to the widespread metastasis,he underwent six cycles of combination therapy consisting of sintilimab,albumin-bound paclitaxel,and cisplatin.After two cycles,a partial response was achieved.Maintenance therapy was initiated with a combination of sintilimab and albumin-bound paclitaxel for four cycles.Monotherapy with sintilimab was continued thereafter until October 2023.Complete remission was confirmed in September 2021.The patient sustained this complete response for more than three years,including an eleven-month period without disease progression following the discontinuation of sintilimab.Genetic analysis revealed a tumor mutational burden of 15.4 mutations/megabase,which indicates a potentially favorable response to immunotherapy.CONCLUSION This case demonstrates the potential of combining immunotherapy(sintilimab)with chemotherapy to achieve durable remission in metastatic gallbladder cancer,even in a patient with extensive metastasis.In addition,it indicated the importance of tumor mutational burden as a predictive biomarker of immunotherapy.

文摘Mechanism of discontinuous precipitation(DP) in AZ80 alloy was investigated by phase-orientation correlated characterization.The results show DPs nucleate by turning the original grain boundaries(GBs) as reaction front(RF),and further driving the RF to realize their growth.The DPs regions retained the same orientations as their parent grains.The misorientation angle and rotation axis of RFs had strong influence on DPs nucleation.The low-angle GBs,twin boundaries(TBs) and the GBs with specific misorientation axis which are known as low energy and low mobility GBs can hardly initiate DPs.In addition,the TBs had a strong ability to inhibit the growth of DPs,but it should be noticed that the growth of DPs cannot be totally inhibited by TBs.DPs can engulf the twins when the growth direction is approximately parallel to the long axis of TBs.The inhibition behavior is related to the distribution of Al solute atoms near the RF,boundary interactions of the TBs and twin tips with the RF,and the morphology of the continuous precipitations within the twins.

文摘This study aimed to investigate the anti-aging effects of black rice-anthocyanin(BRA)in Drosophila melanogaster and HUVEC cells.In this study,the strong antioxidant activity of BRA in HUVEC cells,D.melanogaster of lifespan extension,and molecular mechanism were elucidated.Firstly,the BRA increased enzyme activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT),as well as the expression of phosphatidyl inositol 3-kinase(PI3K)/protein kinase B(Akt)protein while decreasing the accumulation of reactive oxygen species(ROS)and malondialdehyde(MDA)in both H_(2)O_(2)-induced HUVEC cells and D.melanogaster.Secondly,the BRA extended the lifespan of D.melanogaster by improving crawling ability and intestine abilities in the microbial environment,barrier function,and number of autophagic lysosomes,as well as inhibiting the abnormal multiplication of stem cells in the intestine.Thirdly,the BRA downregulated expression levels of Akt-1 and mTOR in D.melanogaster while upregulated downstream autophagy gene expression levels of Atg1,Atg5,Atg8a,and Atg8b,as well as the expression levels of SOD,CAT,and 4E-binding protein.Lastly,the anti-aging mechanism was also verified by both the computerized molecular simulation and network pharmacology.Thus,the prolonged lifespan of D.melanogaster by blocking the mTOR pathway and activating autophagy,which could be further used for improving health and prolonging life.

文摘The fatigue characteristics of rock materials significantly impact the economy and safety of underground structures during construction.Hence,it is essential to conduct further investigation into the progressive damage processes of rocks under cyclic loading conditions.This research utilised both laboratory experiments and discrete element simulations to investigate how confining pressure and fatigue upper limit stress influence the mechanical behaviour and crack development of marble under low-cycle fatigue conditions.By introducing synthetic displacement and reasonable assumptions,the classical damage evolution law was updated,resulting in a fatigue life prediction formula applicable to various rock materials and loading conditions.The results indicate that lower fatigue upper limit stress can delay the accumulation of damage and extend the fatigue life of the rock,but it results in more severe ultimate failure.The damage variable’s correlation with the relative number of loading cycles for different fatigue load upper limits under the same confining pressure can be approximated by the same functional relationship.The modified damage evolution model provides an effective characterisation of this trend.The proposed fatigue life prediction method comprehensively accounts for different rock materials,confining pressures,loading frequencies,and initial damage,showing a close match with actual results.

文摘After excavation,some of the surrounding rock mass is in a state of triaxial extension,exhibiting tensile or shear fracture modes.To study the energy mechanism of tensile fracture turning to shear fracture,a series of triaxial extension tests were conducted on sandstone under confining pressures of 10,30,50 and 70 MPa.Elastic energy and dissipated energy were separated by single unloading,the input energy u_(t),elastic energy u_(e),and dissipated energy u_(d)at different unloading stress levels were calculated by the integrating stress−strain curves.The results show that tensile cracks dominate fracture under lower confining pressure(10 MPa),and shear cracks play an increasingly important role in fracture as confining pressure increases(30,50 and 70 MPa).Based on the phenomenon that u_(e)and u_(d)increase linearly with increasing u_(t),a possible energy distribution mechanism of fracture mode transition under triaxial extension was proposed.In addition,it was found that peak energy storage capacity is more sensitive to confining pressure compared to elastic energy conversion capacity.

文摘Mesoscale air-sea interactions play a critical role in damping eddy activities.However,how mesoscale heat flux influences the distribution of eddy kinetic energy(EKE)in the wavenumber space remains unclear.In this study,we investigate the EKE and temperature variance(T_(var))budgets in the Kuroshio Extension(KE)region using wavenumber spectral analysis based on 1/10°coupled climate simulations.These simulations include a standard high-resolution simulation and a smoothed simulation that overlooks mesoscale heat flux.By comparing the differences between these models,we confirm that air-sea heat exchange significantly dissipates Tvar.Neglecting mesoscale heat flux results in a 60% underestimation of the Tvar damping rate,which in turn increases energy transfer to EKE through the vertical buoyancy flux by 22%.This enhanced vertical buoyancy flux leads to a 20% higher EKE level and larger energy budget terms,particularly in the diffusion term,which is closely related to wind power.Furthermore,underestimating air-sea heat exchange could lead to an overestimation of the inverse kinetic energy cascade,thereby distorting the overall energy budget in the KE region.
文摘Special Purpose Rice (SPR) is a technology that consists of different rice varieties that were developed by Central Luzon State University. The unique varietal characteristics of SPR are pigmented, glutinous, good-yielding varieties planted in lowland areas. This study was conducted to increase farmers’ income through employing different promotion and extension activities and enterprise development. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Cost and return and benefit-cost analysis were used to determine the financial benefits of using the SPR in different production systems. Results revealed that incorporating the following parameters is critical in the sustainable adoption of the SPR. Amongst them are: ensuring that recommended production technologies are strictly followed by the farmers, ensuring the quality of seeds for planting, the presence of a market for the produce, engaging the farmers in value-adding activities like processing, capability development in entrepreneurship, and adopting clustering approach of the farmers to address economies of scale in marketing and processing. The use of SPR produced an average yield of 6.11 MT/ha and 5.04 MT/ha during the dry and wet seasons from 2021-2023, respectively, higher than the usual varieties of inbred rice. The net benefit from producing a CLS-2 variety of SPR is higher than regular rice, having an average difference of Php 22,355.53 per hectare from 2021-2023.

文摘In Ti-Al laminated composites,cracks nucleate preferentially at the Al_(3)Ti layer,but the inhibitory effect of Al_(3)Ti on crack extension is ignored.Interestingly,by combining experiment and phase-field crystal simulation,we found that the micrometer Al_(3)Ti particles in the diffusion layer play the role of crack deflection and passivation,which is attributed to the lattice distortion induced by Al_(3)Ti consumes the energy of the crack in extension.In addition,it is found that the growth process of Al_(3)Ti is divided into two stages:nucleation stage and growth stage.Compared with the growth stage,the Al_(3)Ti grains in the nucleation stage are finer in the growth layer.Finer grains show better crack deflection and avoid stress concentration.
文摘Objective:To determine the incidence,risk factors,antibiotic resistance patterns,and outcomes of various nosocomial infections in Intensive Care Unit(ICU)patients.Methods:The present prospective observational study was conducted in the multidisciplinary ICU of a tertiary care hospital for 6 months.Incidence,risk factors,and outcome parameters were calculated using Mann Whitney U test,Chi-square test,and stepwise univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis.Results:The overall incidence of nosocomial infections was 23.5%(74/314).Ventilator-associated pneumonia was the most common infection(54.1%,52/96),followed by catheter-related bloodstream infections(22.9%,22/96).Stress ulcer prophylaxis(aOR 7.691,95%CI 2.202-26.860,P=0.001),endotracheal intubation(aOR 3.251,95%CI 1.251-8.420,P=0.015),Foley’s catheter(aOR 11.917,95%CI 1.335-106.410,P=0.027),and ICU stay>7 days(aOR 30.915,95%CI 10.062-94.980,P=0.001)were statistically significant risk factors associated with nosocomial infection in ICU patients.Gram-negative bacteria showed a high degree of resistance to most of antibiotics except colistin and tigecycline.Infected group's mortality was significantly greater than the uninfected group(21.62%vs.5.83%P<0.001)and had considerably longer ICU length of stay[21(12)vs.7(4)days,P<0.001]and duration of mechanical ventilation[20(11)days vs.0(5)days,P<0.001].Conclusions:This study highlights the high incidence rate of ventilator-associated pneumonia,with extensive drug resistance in ICU patients,highlighting the need for an optimized antimicrobial stewardship program to develop effective strategies for the management of nosocomial infections.Multifaceted interventions targeting modifiable risk factors are essential to reduce the occurences of these nosocomial infections in ICU patients.
