The deep geologic processes between the Xing’an-Mongolian Orogenic Belt and the North China Craton in the Mesozoic are crucial to reveal the magmatic and tectonic evolution and their constraints on mineralization in the Jiapigou-Haigou collage zone.In this paper,We have presented the geochronology, geochemistry and Sr-Nd-Hf isotopic compositions of the Middle Jurassic granitic complexes in the Songjianghe area,Jilin Province. The granitic complexes can be categorized into four groups based on their geologic characteristics, with corresponding zircon U-Pb isotope ages of 177 Ma,172 Ma,169 Ma and 168-167 Ma,respectively. These granitoids exhibit calcalkaline to high-K calc-alkaline,metaluminous to weakly peraluminous Ⅰ-type characteristics, which show relative enrichment in LILEs(Rb,Sr,Ba)and depletion in HFSEs(Nb,Zr).Geochemical analyses reveal high initial^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of 0.70633-0.70740,coupled with lowεNd(t)values ranging from−10.65 to−13.23.The zircon analyses show similarly negativeεHf(t)values ranging from−16.9 to−3.2.The integrated elemental and Hf-Sr-Nd isotopic signatures demonstrate that the primitive magmas of the four group rocks were primarily derived from partial melting of thickened Archean lower crust, with the exception of the Group Ⅳ rocks, which exhibit significant evidence of crustal contamination. The residual mineral assemblages during the magma-forming process varied from amphibole to eclogite facies. These findings indicate that magmatism in the Songjianghe region likely resulted from the accretion and delamination of the Archean crust in the collage zone during the subduction of the Paleo-Pacific Plate beneath the Eurasian continent. 展开更多

To study the influence of roll casting process parameters on temperature and thermal-stress fields for the AZ31 magnesium alloy sheets,three-dimensional geometric and 3D finite element models for roll casting were established based on the symmetry of roll casting by ANSYS software.Meshing method and smart-sizing algorithm were used to divide finite element mesh in ANSYS software.A series of researches on the temperature and stress distributions during solidification process with different process parameters were done by 3D finite element method. The temperatures of both the liquid-solid two-phase zone and liquid phase zone were elevated with increasing pouring temperature. With the heat transfer coefficient increasing, the two-phase region for liquid-solid becomes smaller. With the pouring temperature increasing and the increase of casting speed, the length of two-phase zone rises. The optimized of process parameters(casting speed 2 m/min,pouring temperature 640 ℃ and heat transfer coefficient 15 kW/(m2·℃) with the water pouring at roller exit was used to produce magnesium alloy AZ31 sheet, and equiaxed grains with the average grain size of 50 μm were achieved after roll casting. The simulation results give better understanding of the temperature variation in phase transformation zone and the formation mechanism of hot cracks in plates during roll casting and help to design the optimized process parameters of roll casting for Mg alloy. 展开更多

In counter-rotating electrochemical machining (CRECM), a revolving cathode tool with hollow windows of various shapes is used to fabricate convex structures on a revolving part. During this process, the anode workpiece and the cathode tool rotate relative to each other at the same rotation speed. In contrast to the conventional schemes of ECM machining with linear motion of a block tool electrode, this scheme of ECM is unique, and has not been adequately studied yet. In this paper, the finite element method (FEM) is used to simulate the anode shaping process during CRECM, and the simulation process which involves a meshing model, a moving boundary, and a simulation algorithm is described. The simulated anode profiles of the convex structure at different processing times show that the CRECM process can be used to fabricate convex structures of various shapes with different heights. Besides, the variation of the inter-electrode gap indicates that this process can also reach a relative equilibrium state like that in conventional ECM. A rectangular convex and a circular convex are successfully fabricated on revolving parts. The experimental results indicate relatively good agreement with the simulation results. The proposed simulation process is valid for convex shaping prediction and feasibility studies as well. 展开更多

Austempered ductile iron(ADI) parts have a unique combination of high strength and toughness with excellent design flexibility and low cost. These excellent properties are directly related to its microstructure called "ausferrite" that is the result of austempering heat treatment applied to ductile irons. Alloying elements increase ADI austemperability and change speeds of austempering reactions. Thus, they can affect ADI resultant microstructure and mechanical properties. In this paper, the effects of alloying elements on ADI mechanical properties, microstructural changes, two-stage austempering reactions, processing windows, austemperability, and other aspects are reviewed. 展开更多

The effects of alloying elements and processing parameters on the mechanical properties and Portevin-Le Chatelier effect of A1-Mg alloys developed for inner auto body sheets were investigated in detail. Tensile testing was performed in various Zn and Mg contents under different annealing and cold-rolling conditions. In the results, the stress drop and reloading time of serrations increase with increasing plastic strain and exhibit a common linear relationship. The increase rates of stress drop and reloading time increase with increasing Mg or Zn content. The alloys with a greater intensity of serrated yielding generally exhibit a greater elongation. The stress drop and reloading time of serrations decrease with increasing grain size in the case of the annealed samples. The cold-rolled sample exhibits the most severe serra- tion because it initially contains a large number of grain boundaries and dislocations. 展开更多

Pumice, the most widely distributed volcanic rock in Okinawa Trough,is loose and porous.Since its formation,it has definitely suffered from the denudation of the sea to different degrees. In order to truly reveal the geochemical features of pumice,we choose the method of mineral separation.Firstly, the phenocryst is separated from glass. Then the phenocryst is divided into light and heavy mineral compositions.By ICP-MS(inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry) analytical technology, the contents of trace and rare earth elements in the whole pumice, the glass and the heavy and light mineral compositions are determined respectively.By researching the elemental geochemical features, the magma dynamic processes are found. It shows that the initial magma for the pumice in Okinawa Trough came from the depleted mantle, from which the N-MORB(normal type of mid-ocean ridge basalt) is formed, homologous with the local basalts. But they are formed in different periods of magma crystal fractionation.Featured with sufficient crystal fractionation for pumice,it is found that the earlier crystallizing minerals are olivine, plagioclase and pyroxene. The pumice magma, formed from the depleted mantle, was mixed with additional subduction-related materials(components),and contaminated with the mass from upper crust when it rose up into the crust. As the Okinawa Trough is a back-arc basin in its early back-arc spreading stage, its magmatism has a series of its own unique characteristics, different from not only the mid-ocean ridge expansion, but also the mature back-arc basin. 展开更多

The start-up process of Stokes' second problem of a viscoelastic material with fractional element is studied. The fluid above an infinite flat plane is set in motion by a sudden acceleration of the plate to steady oscillation. Exact solutions are obtained by using Laplace transform and Fourier transform. It is found that the relationship between the first peak value and the one of equal-amplitude oscillations depends on the distance from the plate. The amplitude decreases for increasing frequency and increasing distance. 展开更多

This study investigated the correlations between mechanical properties and mineralogy of granite using the digital image processing(DIP) and discrete element method(DEM). The results showed that the X-ray diffraction(XRD)-based DIP method effectively analyzed the mineral composition contents and spatial distributions of granite. During the particle flow code(PFC2D) model calibration phase, the numerical simulation exhibited that the uniaxial compressive strength(UCS) value, elastic modulus(E), and failure pattern of the granite specimen in the UCS test were comparable to the experiment. By establishing 351 sets of numerical models and exploring the impacts of mineral composition on the mechanical properties of granite, it indicated that there was no negative correlation between quartz and feldspar for UCS, tensile strength(σ_(t)), and E. In contrast, mica had a significant negative correlation for UCS, σ_(t), and E. The presence of quartz increased the brittleness of granite, whereas the presence of mica and feldspar increased its ductility in UCS and direct tensile strength(DTS) tests. Varying contents of major mineral compositions in granite showed minor influence on the number of cracks in both UCS and DTS tests. 展开更多

The leaching characteristics and the element concentration in soil solution of red soils derived from sandstone, granite,Quaternary red clay and basalt have been studied in the Red Earth Ecological Experimental Station,Academia Sinica, using 12 lysimeters. Results obtained show that the element leaching process of red soils occurs mainly from January to the beginning of July annually. The elements with higher concentration in leaching solution of red soils are Si,Ca,Na,K,Mg,and N.The desilication and the leaching process of base cations occur simultaneously in the red soils.Using the first order differential equation and measured parameters of Si leaching, the leaching models of Si for red soils derived from different parent materials are constructed. The leaching process of Si is simulated with the models. Both the absolute and relative ages of red soils derived from different parent materials are discussed based on the simulation result. On the basis of element leaching, composition of soil solution and thermodynamics, the current soil-forming process is discussed.According to the phase diagram, the kaolinization is prevailing in the current formation of different red soils. 展开更多

The metal cutting process is accompanied by complex stress field, strain field, temperature field. The comprehensive effects of process parameters on chip morphology, cutting force, tool wear and residual stress are complex and inter-connected.Finite element method(FEM)is considered as an effective method to predict process variables and reveal microscopic physical phenomena in the cutting process. Therefore, the finite element(FE)simulation is used to research the conventional and micro scale cutting process, and the differences in the establishment of process variable FE simulation models are distinguished, thereby improving the accuracy of FE simulation. The reliability and effectiveness of FE simulation model largely depend on the accuracy of the simulation method, constitutive model, friction model, damage model in describing mesh element, the dynamic mechanical behavior of materials, the tool-chip-workpiece contact process and the chip formation mechanism. In this paper, the FE models of conventional and micro process variables are comprehensively and up-to-date reviewed for different materials and machining methods. The purpose is to establish a FE model that is more in line with the real cutting conditions, and to provide the possibility for optimizing the cutting process variables. The development direction of FE simulation of metal cutting process is discussed, which provides guidance for future cutting process modeling. 展开更多

The Qarhan Salt Lake(QSL)in western China is K-Sr-Li-B-Br-Rb multi-resource coexisting Quaternary brine deposits.Significant research efforts have been directed to the origin of K-Li resources and evolutionary history of the QSL.However, the study on the different sources, recharge processes, and differential distribution patterns for these resource elements in brine deposits is still inadequate. Therefore,we measured Li-B concentrations and H-O-Sr-B isotopic compositions of different waters(river, spring, and brine)from the QSL,combined with the reported K-Sr contents and multiple isotopes of waters,to discuss the recharge, source of K-Sr-Li-B and their spatial distributions,by analogy with other evaporite basins in the world. The results show that:(1)the K-Li-B-Sr elemental concentrations of brines and their spatial distribution in the QSL are diverse;(2)high K and Sr values are distributed in Dabuxun and Qarhan sections, respectively, which are controlled by Ca-Cl springs in the northern QSL;on the contrary,Li and B values are enriched in the Bieletan section and are charged by thermal springs in the Kunlun Mountains;(3)the formation and evolution of Ca-Cl and thermal springs constrain fundamentally on the recharge processes of K-Sr and Li-B elements in the terminal salt lakes of the Qaidam Basin(QB);(4)some analogues of recharge processes limit the resource elements of the QSL and other salt lakes(Da Qaidam,Lop Nur,Zhabuye,Atacama, and Guayatayoc)in the world provides a reference for the resource exploration in deep formation waters in the evaporite basins. 展开更多

In this paper, environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) is applied to characterizing the mineral and element distribution of chromite ore processing residue (COPR). The test results show that Cr-bearing brownmillerite occurs in the rim of COPR particle, while hydroandradite with Cr (Ⅵ) in its structure presents inside the COPR particle. Periclase and calcite occur in the interstitial area. Element analyses show that Ca, Fe and Al are distributed throughout the COPR particle, and Mg exists mostly in the interstitial area or on the particle surface. A lower content of Cr is evenly distributed in the COPR particle, while slightly higher concentration of Cr occurs inside the particle. It is suggested that it will take a relatively longer time for Cr to migrate out of COPR, especially fbr hexavalent chromium, so the leaching time and the particle size may be two important factors to affect the release of Cr (Ⅵ). 展开更多

A two-pass annealing/quenching internal spinning process with small-end rotations is proposed to form a curved generatrix conical thin-walled shell. That is,annealing at 360°C for 2 h followed by the 1st pass spinning, and finally quenching in ice water after holding for 1 h at 498°C followed by the 2nd pass spinning.ABAQUS finite element software is used to simulate the internal spinning process of the products formed under different forming parameters. The distribution laws of spinning force, the stress and strain under different forming processes were compared and analyzed. The mechanical properties and microstructure of the products are subsequently analyzed. The results show that the strain and the residual stress in the skin area of the formed products under two-pass spinning process more uniform, and the hardness and the mechanical performance are improved. The microstructure of the products formed with the 0.15 mm thickness reduction at the 2nd pass is excellent. And the second phase grain size distributed uniformly in the range of 36μm.Whereas,the second phase particles are broken seriously and the size distribution inhomogeneity is increased when the thickness reduction in the skin area is greater than 0.20 mm at the 2nd pass spinning process. 展开更多

TiAI-based alloys with various compositions (including Ti-48Al, Ti-47Al-2Cr-2Nb, Ti-47Al-2Cr-2Nb-0.2B and Ti-47Al-3Cr, in mole fraction) had been prepared by elemental powder metallurgy (EPM). The results have shown that the density of the prepared Ti-48AI alloy increases with increasing hot pressing temperature up to 1300℃. The Ti-48AI alloy microstructure mainly consisted of island-like Ti3Al phase and TiAl matrix at hot pressing temperature below 1300℃, however, coarse α2/γ lamellar colonies and γ grains appeared at 1400℃. It has also indicated that the additions of elemental Cr and B can refine the alloy microstructure. The main microstructural inhomogeneity in EPM TiAI-based alloys was the island-like α2 phase or the aggregate of α2/γ lamellar colony, and such island-like structure will be inherited during subsequent heat treatment in (α+γ) field. Only after heat treatment in a field would this structure be eliminated. The mechanical properties of EPM TiAl-based alloys with various compositions were tested, and the effect of alloy elements on the mechanical properties was closely related to that of alloy elements on the alloy microstructures. Based on the above results, TiAI-based alloy exhaust valves were fabricated by elemental powder metallurgy and diffusion joining. The automobile engine test had demonstrated that the performance of the manufactured valves was very promising for engine service. 展开更多

Rare earth elements(REEs)as nonessential trace elements are enriched in living organisms and threaten their health. To early detect and reduce REE enrichment in living organisms, scientists are focused on clarifying the enrichment process of REEs in living organisms and its risks. However, the enrichment process of REEs in edible plant cells has remained unclear.Herein,by using interdisciplinary methods and techniques, the enrichment process of lanthanum(La(Ⅲ))in the leaf cells of lettuce(Lactuca sativa L.)was investigated.(1)When La(Ⅲ)exposure dose is 0.5-5μmol/L,La(Ⅲ)is enriched outside the plasma membrane(PM).In this zone,La(Ⅲ)is bound to vitronectin-like protein(VN)to form La-VN complexes;(2)When La(Ⅲ)exposure dose is 5-20μmol/L,besides the zone outside the PM,La(Ⅲ)is also enriched on the PM and bound to arabinogalactan proteins(AGPs)to form La-AGPs complexes;(3)When La(Ⅲ)exposure dose is 20-140μmol/L,besides the zone outside and on the PM,La(Ⅲ)is enriched inside the PM;(4)When La(Ⅲ)exposure dose is 60-140μmol/L,malondialdehyde content(an important indicator of invisible damage)significantly increases. Thus,as La(Ⅲ)exposure dose increases,La(Ⅲ)gradually migrates from outside the PM to the PM and inside the PM,enriching in these zones in turn. The enriched La(Ⅲ)will cause invisible damage to lettuce leaf cells and even enter human bodies along food chains. These results provide references for investigating the enrichment process of REEs in plants and its environmental risks, and finding strategies to early detect and reduce REE enrichment in plants. 展开更多
