The load profile is a key characteristic of the power grid and lies at the basis for the power flow control and generation scheduling.However,due to the wide adoption of internet-of-things(IoT)-based metering infrastr...The load profile is a key characteristic of the power grid and lies at the basis for the power flow control and generation scheduling.However,due to the wide adoption of internet-of-things(IoT)-based metering infrastructure,the cyber vulnerability of load meters has attracted the adversary’s great attention.In this paper,we investigate the vulnerability of manipulating the nodal prices by injecting false load data into the meter measurements.By taking advantage of the changing properties of real-world load profile,we propose a deeply hidden load data attack(i.e.,DH-LDA)that can evade bad data detection,clustering-based detection,and price anomaly detection.The main contributions of this work are as follows:(i)We design a stealthy attack framework that exploits historical load patterns to generate load data with minimal statistical deviation from normalmeasurements,thereby maximizing concealment;(ii)We identify the optimal time window for data injection to ensure that the altered nodal prices follow natural fluctuations,enhancing the undetectability of the attack in real-time market operations;(iii)We develop a resilience evaluation metric and formulate an optimization-based approach to quantify the electricity market’s robustness against DH-LDAs.Our experiments show that the adversary can gain profits from the electricity market while remaining undetected.展开更多
In a home energy management system(HEMS),appliances are becoming diversified and intelligent,so that certain simple maintenance work can be completed by appliances themselves.During the measurement,collection and tran...In a home energy management system(HEMS),appliances are becoming diversified and intelligent,so that certain simple maintenance work can be completed by appliances themselves.During the measurement,collection and transmission of electricity load data in a HEMS sensor network,however,problems can be caused on the data due to faulty sensing processes and/or lost links,etc.In order to ensure the quality of retrieved load data,different solutions have been presented,but suffered from low recognition rates and high complexity.In this paper,a validation and repair method is presented to detect potential failures and errors in a domestic energy management system,which can then recover determined load errors and losses.A Kernel Extreme Learning Machine(K-ELM)based model has been employed with a Radial Basis Function(RBF)and optimised parameters for verification and recognition;whilst a Dual-spline method is presented to repair missing load data.According to the experiment results,the method outperforms the traditional B-spline and Cubic-spline methods and can effectively deal with unexpected data losses and errors under variant loss rates in a practical home environment.展开更多
Accurately filling in missing heating data is essential for ensuring data quality in applications such as energy management optimization and building efficiency analysis.Traditional machine learning methods use histor...Accurately filling in missing heating data is essential for ensuring data quality in applications such as energy management optimization and building efficiency analysis.Traditional machine learning methods use historical heating data as an input feature to predict the following missing data.However,when the duration of missing data is long,previous estimated values are inevitably used for further imputation,leading to error accumulation and a growing deviation from true values.To overcome this problem,this paper proposes a generative network that can fill missing data solely based on weather and temporal data,without using previous imputed values for further imputation.Our method outperformed the state of the art such as Seq2seq and Transformer,achieving relative normalized root mean square error(NRMSE)reductions of 1.65%to 41.38%,0.30%to 66.43%,and 14.84%to 50.22%across three different data sources.In addition,with our proposed method,the effect of selecting different weather variables on model performance,and the benefits of transfer learning under limited data were also demonstrated.The relative NRMSE reduction is between 3.88%to 15.85%in cold months and from 7.49%to 12.29%in warm months when applying transfer learning.展开更多
With large-scale applications,the loss of power load data during transmission is inevitable.This paper proposes a data completion method considering the low rank property of the data.According to the low-rank property...With large-scale applications,the loss of power load data during transmission is inevitable.This paper proposes a data completion method considering the low rank property of the data.According to the low-rank property of data and numerical experiments,we find either the linear interpolation(LI)or the singular value decomposition(SVD)based method is superior to other methods depending on the smoothness of the data.We construct an index to measure the smoothness of data,and propose the SVDLI algorithm which adaptively selects different algorithms for data completion according to the index.Numerical simulations show that irrespective of the smoothness of data,the data complementing results of SVDLI are comparable to or better than the best of SVD or LI algorithms.The present study is verified using the measurements in China,and the public data of the Australian electricity distribution company and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.展开更多
