Purposive sampling was adopted, in which focus group discussions, key informant interviews, semi-structured interviews, and snowball sampling were used for data collection. Focus group discussions were conducted with a total of 20 local associations involved in forest and wildlife management, Bantu traditional councils and the Baka community. Key informant interviews were conducted with local and international NGOs, forest exploitation and Sport hunting (Safari) enterprises and local public administrations that had working rapports with village communities around the BBNP. Information was generally sought on the role of stakeholders in forest management, in terms of use, protection, policy enforcement, challenges encountered in their activities and their relationships with other stakeholders. Actor linkage matrix was used to establish the relationships between different stakeholders. The identified stakeholder groups included the local community, State, international and local NGOs, economic operators (forest exploitation and sport hunting enterprises), and also the rules guiding their activities. Conflicts were rife between the community and the other stakeholders with regard to resource accessibility and use, whereas intra-community conflicts mostly resulted from cases of corruption and embezzlement linked to benefits sharing. Cases of collaboration among all the stakeholders were mostly related to anti-poaching patrols and setting of forest concession limits. There is a need to bring all stakeholders on the same platform, such as in a consultation workshop, to get their perceptions on building trust, conflict resolution and genuine collaboration in resources management.展开更多

文摘On-time mapping dynamics of crop area, yield, and production is important for global food security.Such information, however,is often not available. Here,we used satellite information,a spectral-phenology integration approach for mapping crop area, and a machine learning model for predicting yield in the war-stricken Ukraine. We found that in Ukraine crop area and production declined in 2022 relative to 2017–2021 and 2021 for wintertriticeae crops, which was invaded before the cropping season in February of that year.At the same time, crop area and production for rapeseed increased in Ukraine, with yields consistently lower by 6.5%relative to 2021.The low precipitation and the Russian-Ukrainian conflict-related factors contributed to such yield variations by-1.3%and-0.9%for winter-triticeae crops and-4.2%and-0.5%for rapeseed in 2022.We demonstrate a robust framework for monitoring country-wide crop production dynamics in near real-time,serving as an early-foodsecurity-warning system.
文摘Objectives:To explore the approaches for reducing non-suicidal self-injury(NSSI)behaviors in Chinese adolescents, the present study investigated the association between parent-child conflict and NSSI in adolescents, while also examining the mediating role of depression and the moderating role of rumination thinking. Methods:A cluster sampling method was employed to select 1227 Chinese adolescents aged 12 to 18 as participants, who completed measures including the Parent-Child conflict,Depression,Rumination Thinking, and Non-Suicidal Self-Injury questionnaires. The present study used SPSS 26.0 to conduct the Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and reliability tests, and PROCESS 3.3 to test the hypothesis model.Results:(1)There is a positive correlation between parent-child conflict and NSSI in adolescents;(2)Depression mediates the relationship between parent-child conflict and NSSI in adolescents;(3)Rumination thinking acts as a moderator in the association between parent-child conflict and depression. This study finds the indirect effect of depression on NSSI behaviors among Chinese adolescents.Furthermore, the study also finds protective factors by examining the role of reducing individual rumination thinking in mitigating negative emotions following adverse experiences. In conclusion, this research provides a pathway and foundation for enhancing interventions targeting NSSI behaviors among Chinese adolescents. Conclusion:The relationship between parent-child conflict and NSSI in adolescents is positively correlated.Depression acts as a mediator in the association between parent-child conflict and NSSI in adolescents. The effect of parent-child conflict on NSSI is positively moderated by rumination thinking.Specifically,low-level rumination thinking may mitigate the negative impact of parent-child conflict on depression.
文摘This text examines how globalization has reshaped global economic dynamics, emphasizing its role in weakening nation-states and fueling trade conflicts. It argues that globalization, driven by multinational corporations(MNCs),financial deregulation, and supranational organizations, has eroded state sovereignty by shifting power to global actors whose interests transcend national borders. The rise of trade conflicts-manifested in disputes over subsidies, dumping, market access barriers, and geopolitical tensions-is traced to the clash between liberalized trade policies and states’efforts to protect domestic industries and social cohesion. The World Trade Organization(WTO)is analyzed as a key institution for resolving disputes, though its mechanisms face criticism for bias toward wealthy nations, procedural inefficiencies, and an inability to address systemic issues like currency manipulation or environmental degradation.Case studies(e.g.,agricultural subsidies,US-Japan trade deficits)illustrate the complexities of modern trade wars. The text concludes with recommendations for reforming global governance, including strengthening the WTO’s authority, addressing power imbalances, integrating social and environmental standards, and enhancing developing nations’capacity to negotiate.Ultimately,it underscores the paradox of globalization:while driving growth,it exacerbates inequalities and destabilizes traditional state-centric frameworks.
文摘This study, which took place around the Boumba-Bek National Park (BBNP) in Cameroon, was based on identifying and characterizing stakeholders in forest resources management, as well as determining the relationships between them, with the goal of encouraging collaborative forest resources management. There is a need to bring all stakeholders on the same platform, such as in a consultation workshop, to get their perceptions on building trust, conflict resolution and genuine collaboration in resources management.
