Stabilizing unstable operating points is an effective way to enhance process benefits and safety, which motivates the development for a variety of advanced control strategies. The washout filter-aided controller(WFC), originally used for electric power system and aircraft, has been introduced to adjust the dynamic behavior of chemical process. However, the parameter tuning method faces two major limitations: the dimension of operating variables must be equal to or greater than that of state variables and only one positive real eigenvalue exists in the open loop system. To overcome the two limitations, this paper proposes a new parameter tuning method, so that the WFC is applicable in most chemical processes. By solving a constrained optimization problem, the controller parameters are determined under the constraint that the reassignment of the eigenvalues of the unstable desired operating point can satisfy the stability condition. Thus parts of the equilibrium manifold including the desired operating point are stabilized without affecting the shape of the equilibrium manifold. Finally, the effectiveness of the WFC improved by the proposed parameter tuning method is illustrated through a case study for propanediol anaerobic fermentation. 展开更多

The outbreak and spreading of the COVID-19 pandemic have had a significant impact on transportation system.By analyzing the impact of the pandemic on the transportation system, the impact of the pandemic on the social economy can be reflected to a certain extent, and the effect of anti-pandemic policy implementation can also be evaluated. In addition, the analysis results are expected to provide support for policy optimization.Currently, most of the relevant studies analyze the impact of the pandemic on the overall transportation system from the macro perspective, while few studies quantitatively analyze the impact of the pandemic on individual spatiotemporal travel behavior.Based on the license plate recognition(LPR)data, this paper analyzes the spatiotemporal travel patterns of travelers in each stage of the pandemic progress, quantifies the change of travelers'spatiotemporal behaviors, and analyzes the adjustment of travelers'behaviors under the influence of the pandemic. There are three different behavior adjustment strategies under the influence of the pandemic, and the behavior adjustment is related to the individual's past travel habits. The paper quantitatively assesses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on individual travel behavior. And the method proposed in this paper can be used to quantitatively assess the impact of any long-term emergency on individual micro travel behavior. 展开更多

Behavioral adjustment plays an important role in the treatment and relapse of drug addiction. Nonetheless, few studies have examined behavioral adjustment and its plasticity following error commission in methamphetamine(METH) dependence, which is detrimental to human health. Thus, we investigated the behavioral adjustment performance following error commission in long-term METH addicts and how it varied with the application of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(r TMS) of the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(DLPFC). Twenty-nine male long-term METH addicts(for [ 3 years) were randomly assigned to high-frequency(10 Hz, n = 15) or sham(n = 14) r TMS of the left DLPFC during a two-choice oddball task. Twenty-six age-matched, healthy male adults participated in the two-choice oddball task pretest to establish normal performance for comparison. The results showed that 10 Hz r TMS over the left DLPFC significantly decreased the post-error slowing effect in response times of METH addicts. In addition, the 10 Hz r TMS intervention remarkably reduced the reaction times during post-error trials but not post-correct trials. While the 10 Hz r TMS group showed a more pronounced post-error slowing effect than the healthy participants during the pretest, the posterror slowing effect in the posttest of this sample was similar to that in the healthy participants. These results suggest that high-frequency r TMS over the left DLPFC is a useful protocol for the improvement of behavioral adjustment after error commission in long-term METH addicts. 展开更多

Urbanization is one of the most extreme forms of land-use alteration that is advancing across the world with unprecedented speed. As the largest developing country,China has developed a unique path through its high speed and large scale of urbanization, offering valuable research opportunities for avian ecology. However,a comprehensive review on how birds respond to urbanization in China is still lacking. Here,we systematically reviewed 274 studies published from 1962 to 2024 to determine the research trends, current insights, and future directions of avian response to urbanization in China. We synthesized research trends across four core avian response dimensions to urbanization—diversity, behavior, physiology, and life-history—and their applications in conservation strategy design. The number of publications in avian response to urbanization in China increased annually, and it is influenced by China's developing policies of urbanization. The results also showed an unbalanced geographical pattern of the publications,as the research preferences are relatively prevalent in the developed areas of eastern China. In contrast, there are insufficient studies in the emerging urbanizing areas in the western and northeastern China.Regarding the research contents, most existing studies are focusing on the patterns of bird diversity, while there are few studies on the underlying mechanisms, such as physiological adjustments and life-history strategies. In addition, passerines are the most frequent ones among the studied species.Integrating multidimensional urbanization indices and citizen science data are gradually becoming a new trend in recent years. Our study emphasizes that future studies should pay more attention to the response mechanism of birds in urbanizing processes, multidimensional and interdisciplinary studies, and the transformation of the research results into conservation practices. 展开更多

Purpose This study examines the mechanism underlying the effect of parenting sense of competence(PSOC)on the emotional and behavioral adjustment of children with special education needs(SEN).Design/Approach/Methods Convenience sampling method was used and 299 parents of children with SEN were surveyed using questionnaires.Amos 24.0 was used to perform the chain mediation analyses.Findings The results showed that PSOC was positively associated with emotional and behavioral adjustment of children with SEN;parenting satisfaction negatively predicted the total difficulty of children with SEN and parenting efficacy positively affected prosocial behavior.Mediation analysis indicated that PSOC(parenting satisfaction and parenting efficacy)influenced prosocial behavior of children with SEN through parental involvement and the chain mediation effect of parenting stress and parental involvement.Originality/Value This study reveals the different pathways that parenting satisfaction and parenting efficacy—the core dimensions of PSOC—affect the emotional and behavioral adjustment of children with SEN during the transition from kindergarten to primary school. 展开更多

The dorsomedial and dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(dmPFC and dlPFC)are key hubs of cognitive control and decision-making,with the dmPFC implicated in response conflict detection and the dlPFC in behavioral adjustment[1,2].These regions share a posterior-to-anterior connectivity gradient and exhibit functional segregation along a medial–lateral axis[3].While neuroimaging studies have extensively explored these functional topographies in adults, the prefrontal cortex is among the last brain regions to mature[4],with synaptic pruning, gray matter reduction, and white matter augmentation continuing into adulthood[5].However,the timeline and factors driving the developmental separation of the dmPFC from the dlPFC remain unclear. 展开更多
