The effect of noncanonical strength, off-axis distance and vortex sign on spatial correlation singularities in far field is stressed. Furthermore, far-field OAM spectra and densities are also investigated, and the OAM detection and crosstalk probabilities are discussed. The results show that the number of dislocations of SCS always equals the sum of absolute values of topological charges for canonical or noncanonical vortex pairs. Although the sum of the product of each OAM mode and its power weight equals the algebraic sum of topological charges for canonical vortex pairs, the relationship no longer holds in the noncanonical case except for opposite-charge vortex pairs. The changes of off-axis distance, noncanonical strength or coherence length can lead to a more dominant power in adjacent mode than that in center detection mode, which also indicates that crosstalk probabilities of adjacent modes exceed the center detection probability. This work may provide potential applications in OAM-based optical communication, imaging, sensing and computing.展开更多

文摘We propose a compact scheme to modulate a relativistic electron beam(REB)into three-dimensional(3D)nanoscale bunches by injecting a rarefied REB into an underdense plasma. This scheme self-consistently integrates the lateral focusing and axial modulation of the REB in its self-driven plasma wakefield. The REB first expels the plasma electrons in its path to form a wake, where the lateral force of the chargeseparation field compresses it to higher density,so that more plasma electrons are expelled as it propagates. The positive feedback loop is repeated until the REB becomes a thin electron filament of density a hundred times that of the original. As it continues to propagate in the elongated electron-free wake bubble, the axial electric field induces an energy chirp on the electron filament, and longitudinally modulates it into 3D nanoscale bunches by asynchronous envelope oscillations. The excitation conditions of this scheme with respect to the beam and plasma parameters,as well as the spatial scale of the obtained electron bunches, are analyzed analytically and agree well with particle-in-cell simulations. In addition, our radiation simulations show that coherent extreme ultraviolet radiation can be generated with such 3D nanoscale bunches.

文摘Red-green-blue(RGB)beam combiners are widely used in scenarios such as augmented reality/virtual reality(AR/VR),laser projection, biochemical detection, and other fields.Optical waveguide combiners have attracted extensive attention due to their advantages of small size, high multiplexing efficiency, convenient mass production, and low cost.An RGB beam combiner based on directional couplers is designed, with a core-cladding relative refractive index difference of 0.75%.The RGB beam combiner is optimized from the perspective of parameter optimization.Using the beam propagation method(BPM),the relationship between the performance of the RGB beam combiner and individual parameters is studied, achieving preliminary optimization of the device’s performance. The key parameters of the RGB beam combiner are optimized using the entropy weight-technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution TOPSIS method, establishing the optimal parameter scheme and further improving the device’s performance indicators. The results show that after optimization, the multiplexing efficiencies for red, green, and blue lights,as well as the average multiplexing efficiency, reached 99.17%,99.76%,96.63%and 98.52%,respectively.The size of the RGB beam combiner is 4.768 mm×0.062 mm.

文摘This paper investigates the free vibration and transient response of interconnected structures including double curved beams and intermediate straight beams, which are all constructed from functionally graded porous(FGP)materials. The strain potential and kinetic energies of each beam along with the work done by the external force are calculated.Additionally,a higher-order beam element is introduced to derive stiffness and mass matrices, along with the force vector. The curved and straight beams are discretized, and their assembled stiffness, mass matrices, and force vectors, are obtained.Continuity conditions at the joints are used to derive the total matrices of the entire structure.Subsequently, the natural frequencies and transient response of the system are determined. The accuracy of the mathematical model and the self-developed computer program is validated through the comparison of the obtained results with those of the existing literature and commercial software ANSYS,demonstrating excellent agreement.Furthermore,a comprehensive study is conducted to investigate the effects of various parameters on the free vibration and transient response of the considered structure.

文摘In this work, the effects of transverse boundary conditions, specifically the bias voltage on the transverse wall and the gap width,on the electron beam-generated plasmas(EBPs)confined in a narrow gap,are investigated using the particle-in-cell/Monte Carlo collision(PIC/MCC)simulations.Simulation results reveal that the application of bias voltage causes beam deflections, leading to the formation of band structures in the beam electron velocity space.Three branches of electrostatic waves, including electron beam mode,Langmuir wave, and electron acoustic mode, are identified.Increasing the bias voltage and reducing gap width intensify beam deflections, resulting in the suppression of waves. Both wave excitation and beam deflection significantly modify beam electron transport, leading to the plasma non-uniformity.These findings enhance the understanding of beam transport and plasma behavior in discharges confined in a narrow gap.

文摘Neutral beam injection(NBI)has been proven as a reliable heating and current drive method for fusion plasma. For the high-energy NBI system(particle energy>150 ke V)of large-scale fusion devices, the negative ion source neutral beam injection(NNBI)system is inevitable, which can obtain an acceptable neutralization efficiency(>55%).But the NNBI system is very complex and challengeable. To explore and master the key NNBI technology for future fusion reactor in China,an NNBI test facility is under development in the framework of the Comprehensive Research Facility for Fusion Technology(CRAFT).The initial goal of CRAFT NNBI facility is to achieve a 2 MW hydrogen neutral beam at the energy of 200–400 ke V for lasting 100 s.In the first operation of the CRAFT NNBI facility,a negative ion source with dual RF drivers was developed and tested.By using the 50 keV accelerator, the long-pulse and highcurrent extractions of negative hydrogen ions have been achieved and the typical values were 55.4 keV,7.3 A(~123 A/m^(2)),105 s and 55.0 keV,14.7 A(~248 A/m^(2)),30 s,respectively.By using the 200 keV accelerator, the megawatt-class negative hydrogen beam has also been achieved(135.9 keV,8.9 A,8 s).The whole process of the gas neutralization of negative ion beam, electric removal of residual ions, and beam transport have been demonstrated experimentally.

文摘Negative-ion-based neutral beam injection(NNBI)at high energy is still a potential heating and current drive method for future large-scale fusion reactors. One feature of the negative ion source is that the electrons are also accelerated with the negative ions in the accelerator. In addition to the electrons co-extracted from the source plasma, electrons are inevitably generated in the main acceleration stage due to the stripping loss of negative ions or the ionization of background gas. Many of these accelerated electrons can be ejected by the negative ion source, which poses a risk for the downstream components in the beamline of the NNBI system, especially the thermosensitive cryopumps. To prevent the ejected electrons from impacting the cryopumps, electron dumps have been designed for the beamline of the China Fusion Engineering Test Reactor(CFETR)advance neutral beam equipment(CANBE).Using a selfconsistent model of the negative ion accelerator, the generation and motion of the ejected electrons were simulated for different negative ion sources to be tested on the CANBE.Based on the orbits of the ejected electrons,a set of fixed and movable electron dumps was designed to be placed in front of the neutralizer inside the CANBE beamline. The effects of the electron dumps were quantitatively analyzed.

文摘Present investigation is concerned with the free vibration property of a beam with periodically variable cross-sections.For the special geometry characteristic, the beam was modelled as the combination of long equal-length uniform Euler-Bernoulli beam segments and short equal-length uniform Timoshenko beam segments alternately.By using continuity conditions, the hybrid beam unit(ETE-B) consisting of Euler-Bernoulli beam,Timoshenko beam and Euler-Bernoulli beam in sequence was developed.Classical boundary conditions of pinned-pinned,clamped-clamped and clamped-free were considered to obtain the natural frequencies.Numerical examples of the equal-length composite beam with 1,2 and 3 ETE-B units were presented and compared with the equal-length and equal-cross-section Euler-Bernoulli beam, respectively. The work demonstrates that natural frequencies of the composite beam are larger than those of the Euler-Bernoulli beam, which in practice,is the interpretation that the inner-welded plate can strengthen a hollow beam.In this work, comparisons with the finite element calculation were presented to validate the ETE-B model.

文摘The Neutralized Drift Compression Experiment-II(NDCX-II)is an induction linac that generates intense pulses of 1.2 MeV helium ions for heating matter to extreme conditions. Here,we present recent results on optimizing beam transport. The NDCX-II beamline includes a 1-m-long drift section downstream of the last transport solenoid, which is filled with charge-neutralizing plasma that enables rapid longitudinal compression of an intense ion beam against space-charge forces. The transport section on NDCX-II consists of 28 solenoids.Finding optimal field settings for a group of solenoids requires knowledge of the envelope parameters of the beam.Imaging the beam on the scintillator gives the radius of the beam, but the envelope angle is not measured directly. We demonstrate how the parameters of the beam envelope(radius, envelop angle, and emittance)can be reconstructed from a series of images taken by varying the B-field strengths of a solenoid upstream of the scintillator. We use this technique to evaluate emittance at several points in the NDCX-II beamline and for optimizing the trajectory of the beam at the entry of the plasma-filled drift section.

文摘Up-and-coming high-temperature materials, refractory high entropy alloys, are suffering from lower oxidation resistance, restricting their applications in the aerospace field. In this study, two novel treatments of Al-deposited and remelted were developed to refine the microstructure and enhance the oxidation resistance of refractory high entropy alloy using electron beam freeform fabrication(EBF3).Finer and short-range ordering structures were observed in the remelted sample, whereas the Al-deposited sample showcased the formation of silicide and intermetallic phases.High-temperature cyclic and isothermal oxidation tests at 1000℃ were carried out.The total weight gain after 60 h of cyclic oxidation decreased by 17.49%and 30.46%for the remelted and deposited samples, respectively, compared to the as-cast state.Oxidation kinetics reveal an evident lower mass gain and oxidation rate in the treated samples.A multilayer oxide consisting of TiO_(2)+Al_(2)O_(3)+SiO_(2)+AlNbO_(4) was studied for its excellent oxidation resistance. The oxidation behavior of rutile, corundum and other oxides was analyzed using first principles calculations and chemical defect analysis.Overall, this research, which introduces novel treatments, offers promising insights for enhancing the inherent oxidation resistance of refractory high entropy alloys.

文摘Ti-6Al-4Zr-2Sn-6Mo alloy is one of the most recent titanium alloys processed using powder bed fusion-laser beam(PBF-LB)technology.This alloy has the potential to replace Ti-6Al-4V in automotive and aerospace applications, given its superior mechanical properties, which are approximately 10%higher in terms of ultimate tensile strength(UTS)and yield strength after appropriate heat treatment. In as-built conditions, the alloy is characterized by the presence of soft orthorhombicα″martensite, necessitating a postprocessing heat treatment to decompose this phase and enhance the mechanical properties of the alloy.Usually,PBFed Ti6246 components undergo an annealing process that transforms theα″martensite into anα-βlamellar microstructure. The primary objective of this research was to develop a solution treatment and aging(STA)heat treatment tailored to the unique microstructure produced by the additive manufacturing process to achieve an ultrafine bilamellar microstructure reinforced by precipitation hardening. This study investigated the effects of various solution temperatures in theα-βfield(ranging from 800 to 875℃),cooling media(air and water),and aging time to determine the optimal heat treatment parameters for achieving the desired bilamellar microstructure. For each heat treatment condition,differentα-βmicrostructures were found, varying in terms of theα/βratio and the size of the primaryα-phase lamellae.Particular attention was given to how these factors were influenced by increases in solution temperature and how microhardness correlated with the percentage of the metastableβphase present after quenching.Tensile tests were performed on samples subjected to the most promising heat treatment parameters.A comparison with literature data revealed that the optimized STA treatment enhanced hardness and UTS by13%and 23%,respectively,compared with those of the annealed alloy.Fracture surface analyses were conducted to investigate fracture mechanisms.
文摘High-quality antiferromagnetic(AFM)θ-phase manganese nitride(MnN)films were successfully grown on MgO(001)substrates by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy.Structural analysis confirms the high-quality MnN film has a tetragonal distortion with a c/a ratio of~0.98.The film exhibits exceptional stability in both aqueous and ambient conditions, which is a crucial factor for practical applications.Electrical transport reveals its metallic behavior with an upturn at low temperatures, which could be attributed to the Kondo effect originated from nitrogen vacancy-induced magnetic impurities.Room temperature exchange bias has been demonstrated in a MnN/CoFeB heterostructure, verifying the AFM ordering of MnN.Considering its high Néel temperature~650 K,superior stability, and low-cost,this work highlights the epitaxial MnN films as a promising candidate for AFM spintronic applications.
文摘By introducing noncanonical vortex pairs to partially coherent beams, spatial correlation singularity (SCS) and orbital angular momenta (OAM) of the resulting beams are studied using the Fraunhofer diffraction integral. This work may provide potential applications in OAM-based optical communication, imaging, sensing and computing.
