Methods A total of 120 patients with TMD were randomly divided into two groups according to the random number table and random number remainder method. Sixty-two patients in acupuncture combined with cupping group(group A) were treated with acupuncture at Hég(合谷 LI 4) and Tàichōng(太冲 LR 3) combined with medicated cupping on the affected parts with Sānqī(三七 Radix et Rhizoma Notoginseng) and Báizh(白芷 Radix Angelicae Dahuricae). Fifty-eight patients in cupping group(group B) were just treated with medicated cupping. Patients were treated for 30 min each time, once daily, and 10 times were considered as one course of treatment. After one course of treatment, the therapeutic effect was evaluated. Before and after treatment, craniomandihular index(CMI), dysfunction index(DI), palpation index(Pl) and changes in pain degree(VAS score) were compared. Results Before and after treatment, CMI in group A were 0.27±0.02 and 0.04±0.01, respectively, and in group B were 0.29±0.02 and 0.06±0.01, respectively; PI in group A were 0.19±0.01 and 0.05±0.03, respectively, and in group B were 0.18±0.02 and 0.11±0.02, respectively; DI in group A were 0.33±0.04 and 0.06±0.02, respectively, and in group B were 0.34±0.05 and 0.11±0.04, respectively; VAS in group A were 5.39±0.24 and 2.13±0.47, respectively, and in group B were 5.70±0.31 and 3.97±0.26, respectively. After treatment, CMI, DI, PI and VAS in both groups significantly decreased when compared with those before treatment(all P0.01), and the indices in group A were significantly lower than that in group B after treatment(all P0.05), indicating that the difference was significant. Conclusion The therapeutic effect of acupuncture at distal points combined with cupping at adjacent points in treatment of TMD is superior to that of single medicated cupping therapy.展开更多

文摘As early as 1983,Sjaastad proposed the concept of cervicogenic headache(CH)in the World Headache Conference, that is,the pain from upper cervical joints and muscles can be referred to the head.CH is a group of syndromes mainly caused by dysfunction of the upper cervical spine and its component muscles, ligaments, bony, vertebral arteries and/or soft tissue elements, usually not accompanied by neck pain. Therefore, the treatment strategy of CH focuses on pain relief and repair cervical lesions.Patients with painful disorders of upper cervical zygapophysial joints showed significant headache relief after directly treated at disordered cervical joints[1].
文摘In the present paper, 70 cases of retrograde affection of the lumbar vertebrae are randomly and evenly divided into treatment group and control group. Shenshu (BL 23), Qihaishu (BL 24), Dachangshu (BL 25), Weizhong (BL 40), Jiaji (EX B 2), etc. are used. In treatment group, acupuncture, TDP irradiation and cupping are performed, and in control group, only acupuncture is given. After 30 sessions (3 therapeutic courses) of treatment, in treatment and control groups, the total effective rates are 91.43% and 71.43% respectively. The therapeutic effect of comprehensive treatment is significantly superior to that of simple acupuncture therapy (P<0.05).

文摘Background:Chronic urticaria(CU)is a common skin disease, which has a negative effect on quality of life.Current treatments do not fully control the symptoms of urticaria for many CU patients, thus effective and safe treatments for CU are still needed. Objective:This review aims to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of cupping therapy in patients with CU.Search strategy:The search strategy looked for the presence of related keywords, such as‘‘chronic urticaria"and‘‘cupping therapy,"in the title and abstract of research articles indexed in major databases.Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)were selected after querying nine electronic databases from their inception to May 2019 with the above search terms.Inclusion criteria:RCTs were included if they recruited patients with CU who were intervened with dry or wet cupping.Publications could be written in Chinese or English.Data extraction and analysis:Data were extracted, and the studies were assessed for the quality of their methodological design and risk of bias.Meta-analyses of the RCT data were conducted to assess the total effective rate of the treatment as the primary outcome.Skin disease quality of life index score, recurrence rate, and adverse events were assessed as secondary outcomes.Subgroup analyses were conducted based on different interventions. Results:Thirteen comparisons from 12 RCTs involving 842 participants were included. There were no significant differences between wet cupping and medications in total effective rate(n=372;risk ratio[RR]=1.10,95%confidence interval[CI]0.97 to 1.25;P=0.14)or recurrence rate(n=240;RR=0.56,95%CI 0.23 to 1.36;P=0.20).Cupping therapy,in combination with antihistamine treatment was more efficacious than antihistamines alone, with a greater total effective rate(n=342;RR=1.18,95%CI 1.01 to1.39;P=0.03)and lower recurrence rate(n=342;RR=0.52,95%CI 0.32 to 0.84;P=0.007).Cupping therapy combined with acupuncture was more effective than acupuncture alone(n=156;RR=1.25,95%CI 1.07 to 1.46;P=0.006).No serious adverse events were reported. Conclusion:Wet cupping may be as effective as treatment with antihistamines. When cupping therapy is used as an adjuvant therapy to antihistamines or acupuncture,it may enhance the efficacy. Results drawn from these studies should be interpreted with caution and applied with care to clinical practice, because of the poor quality among the studies that were reviewed.Systematic review registration:PROSPERO,CRD42019137451.
文摘233 cases of arthralgia-syndrome were randomly divided into five treatment groupswith double blind method:1)acupuncture pills cupping;2)acupoint medicinal injection;3)acupointmedicinal injection plus laser radiation;4)acupoint medicinal injection plus field effect, and 5)electroacupuncture(EA)plus cupping for observation of the therapeutic effect. The total effective ratewas 89.2%.No significant differences were found among the five groups in the total effective rate. But,the markedly effective rate was highest in the acupoint medicinal injection plus field effect group. And the therapeutic effect in patients with pain arthralgia and migratory arthralgia and shorter courseof disease was best.
文摘Objective:To observe the clinical effects of medical cupping for metabolic syndrome(MetS)with abdominal obesity. Methods:In total,75 patients with MetS with abdominal obesity were randomly divided into three groups:medical cupping, acupuncture, and waiting.Patients in the medical cupping group received smearing of Chinese medicine and cupping twice a week for 8 weeks.Patients in the acupuncture group received acupuncture on regulating the Dai meridian three times a week for 8 weeks. The waiting group was observed without any intervention.Changes in metabolic indices, including waist circumference(WC),blood pressure, fasting triglyceride(TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),fasting blood glucose(FBG),2-h blood glucose(2hBG),and subcutaneous fat thickness were observed and compared before and after treatment among the three groups. Results:After the treatment, the WC,TG,FBG,and 2hBG in the medical cupping and acupuncture groups were lower than those in the waiting group. No difference was observed between the medical cupping and acupuncture groups. The subcutaneous fat thickness at the upper umbilicus, right side of the umbilicus, and waist in the medical cupping and acupuncture groups were lower than those in the waiting group. The subcutaneous fat thickness at the upper umbilicus and waist in the medical cupping group was lower than that in the acupuncture group. The MetS prevalence in the medical cupping and acupuncture groups was lower than that in the waiting group. Conclusion:medical cupping treatment can effectively alleviate metabolic indices and subcutaneous fat thickness at the abdomen in patients with MetS and abdominal obesity and decrease the MetS prevalence. Its efficacy was better than that of waiting and similar to that of acupuncture. The frequency of medical cupping is lower than that of the acupuncture.Meanwhile,it circumvents some patients’fear of acupuncture.medical cupping should be clinically promoted.
