Vanadium phosphorus oxide(VPO)catalyst is a promising candidate for the condensation reaction of formaldehyde(FA)and acetic acid(HAc)to produce acrylic acid(AA).However,the complexity of the active phases and their dy...Vanadium phosphorus oxide(VPO)catalyst is a promising candidate for the condensation reaction of formaldehyde(FA)and acetic acid(HAc)to produce acrylic acid(AA).However,the complexity of the active phases and their dynamic interconversion under redox conditions has led to controversies regarding the actual active phase in this reaction.To address this,this study systematically investigates the phase transition and underlying mechanism of VPO catalysts under reaction conditions.X-ray diffraction(XRD)patterns,Raman spectra,transmission electron microscopy images and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy collectively demonstrated that the V^(4+)phase(VO)_(2)P_(2)O_(7)retained the bulk phase structure throughout the reaction,with only minor surface phase transition observed.In contrast,the V^(5+)phase underwent reduction to other phases in both bulk and surface regions.Specifically,theδ-VOPO_(4)phase rapidly transformed into theαII-VOPO_(4)phase,which could reversibly convert into the R1-VOHPO_(4)phase(V^(4+)).Controlled variable experiments,H_(2)-temperature programmed reduction and in-situ XRD experiments in a hydrogen atmosphere further demonstrated that these phase transitions were primarily attributed to the loss of lattice oxygen.The presence of V^(4+)phase in VPO catalysts enhanced the selectivity of acrylic acid,while the existence of V^(5+)phase promoted the activation of acetic acid.This work elucidates the redox-driven phase evolution of VPO catalysts and offers valuable insights for designing efficient catalysts for FA-HAc cross-condensation by balancing phase stability and activity.展开更多

Methods: This randomized, double-blind, placeb...Objective: This study assessed the effects of consuming acetic acid bacteria (Gluconacetobacter hansenii GK-1) for 12 weeks on fatigue induced by temporary mental stress. Methods: This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study included 100 healthy male and female adults aged 20 - 64 years. Participants consumed either the G. hansenii GK-1 supplement (9 × 10⁹ cells/day) or a placebo daily for 12 weeks. The impact of temporary mental stress on fatigue in G. hansenii GK-1 was assessed using a Visual Analog Scale (VAS) before the study began and after 12 weeks of supplementation. Results: Subjective fatigue measured by Visual Analog Scale (VAS) showed a significant decrease in fatigue induced by temporary mental stress after 12 weeks of consumption in the G. hansenii GK-1 group compared with the placebo group. No adverse events were attributed to G. hansenii GK-1. These findings confirm that continuous oral ingestion of G. hansenii GK-1 by healthy Japanese adults reduces feelings of fatigue caused by temporary mental stress.展开更多
Mo_(2)CT_(x)MXene is a novel two-dimensional material,which is generally made by the etching of inorganic acid solutions,such as hydrofluoric acid(HF)or hydrochloric acid(HCl).Those solutions are always corrosive and ...Mo_(2)CT_(x)MXene is a novel two-dimensional material,which is generally made by the etching of inorganic acid solutions,such as hydrofluoric acid(HF)or hydrochloric acid(HCl).Those solutions are always corrosive and hazardous.In this paper,a mild organic acid,acetic acid(CH_(3)COOH),was selected to synthesize Mo_(2)CT_(x)MXene.30 mL acetic acid(HAc)with the concentration of 13 mol/L was mixed with 2 g acetate(CH_(3)COONa or CH_(3)COOK)and 10 mL water to make etching solution(NaAc+HAc or KAc+HAc).In the solution,the concentration of CH_(3)COO^(-)was 10 mol/L,the concentration of Na^(+)/K^(+)is 0.6/0.5 mol/L.The pH value is 2.8.Mo_(2)CT_(x)was obtained by hydrothermal etching at 240℃for 1 d.Compared with the general method of HF etching,the etchant is milder and the etching process is safer.On the surface of Mo_(2)CT_(x)nanosheet made by this method,acetate group(CH_(3)COO^(-))was adsorbed as termination,which is larger than the F/O/OH termination of that made by general HF etching.The lattice parameter c(LP c)of Mo_(2)CT_(x)etched with NaAc+HAc/KAc+HAc is 21.09Å/20.89Å.Moreover,the specific surface areas of the samples etched by NaAc+HAc and KAc+HAc were 18.1 m^(2)/g and 14.1 m^(2)/g,respectively,which were much larger than those etched by conventional methods.As the anode of lithium-ion battery,the specific capacity under current density of 100 mA/g at 100 th cycle was 108 mA·h/g,which is higher than the capacity of samples made by general HF etching.This work reports a novel method to make Mo_(2)CT_(x)MXene by the solution of mild acetic acid.The samples made by this method had very high specific surface area and relatively high lithium-storage performance.展开更多
Real-time detection of acetic acid vapor is of concern for ensuring environmental and personal safety.However,acetic acid gas sensors,particularly those based on Bi_(2)O_(3),often fail to meet practical performance re...Real-time detection of acetic acid vapor is of concern for ensuring environmental and personal safety.However,acetic acid gas sensors,particularly those based on Bi_(2)O_(3),often fail to meet practical performance requirements owing to their slow response characteristics and high operating temperature.To enhance sensing performance,highly permeable Bi_(2)O_(3)microspheres decorated by Pt-nanoparticles are rationally synthesized by a facile template method.Among the fabricated sensors,the one based on 3 wt%Pt-decorated Bi_(2)O_(3)demonstrated excellent sensing performance.Specifically,the sensor displayed high selectivity for acetic acid,rapid response and recovery times(22.5 and 9 s,respectively),strong resistance to interference,and good long-term stability at a low operating temperature(150℃).Notably,the sensor exhibited an exceptionally high response of 126 to 100 ppm acetic acid—the highest reported value for Bi_(2)O_(3)-based sensors tested at a relatively low operating temperature in recent years.These results demonstrate that Pt-decorated Bi_(2)O_(3)holds strong potential for use in high-performance acetic acid sensors.展开更多

In the present study, the effect of ginger (rhizome of Zingiber officinale Roscoe) volatile oil on a rat model of colitis was evaluated. METHODS: Volatile oil of ginger with doses of 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg, prednisolone (4 mg/kg), or vehicle were administered orally to groups of male Wistar rats (n = 6) for 5 d. Animals were randomly divided into 6 groups, each group consisting of 6 rats. Colitis was induced by intracolonic instillation of 2 mL of 4% (v/v) acetic acid solution. All rats were sacrificed 24 h later and the tissue injuries were assessed macroscopically and histopathologically. RESULTS: Ginger volatile oil with all doses reduced colon weight/length ratio (P 〈 0.01) and the effects were similar to the reference drugs. Higher oral doses of volatile oil (200 and 400 mg/kg) reduced ulcer severity (P 〈 0.05 and P 〈 0.01), ulcer area (P 〈 0.01) and ulcer index (P 〈 0.01). On the other hand, evaluation of microscopic scores showed that the dose of 400 mg/kg of volatile oil was effective to reduce inflammation severity (P 〈 0.01) and inflammation extent (P 〈 0.05) compared to the control group. CONCLUSION: It is concluded that ginger volatile oil could effectively reduce symptoms of experimental colitis in a dose-dependent manner.展开更多

The effect of the structure of the supports on the activity of Ru catalysts was investigated in the catalytic wet air oxidation (CWAO) of acetic acid under 230℃ and 5 MPa in a batch reactor. Physical properties including the surface area, crystalline phase, and surface components of the Ru catalysts were characterized by N 2 adsorption, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The CeO 2 -based Ru catalysts had good activity, and the prepared RuO 2 /CeO 2 catalyst showed markedly higher activity than the RuO 2 /CeO 2 -TiO 2 catalyst. The surface structure, the high amount of chemisorbed oxygen on the catalyst surface, and the suitable pH pzc value of the supports played an important role in the activity of the Ru catalysts in CWAO of acetic acid.展开更多

Isobaric vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data at 101.33 kPa for the binary or ternary systems consisting of water, acetic acid and tributylamine were measured. The activity coefficients were correlated by using Wilson, NRTL, and UNIQUAC Equations.The VLE experiment showed that tributylamine could enhance the relative volatility of water to acetic acid. An extractive distillation experiment was carried out and proved that tributylamine was a good extractive solvent.展开更多
MIL-53(Fe)was synthesized using a“modulator approach”that utilizes acetic acid(HAc)as an additive to control the size and morphology of the resulting crystals.We demonstrate that after activation under vaccum at 100...MIL-53(Fe)was synthesized using a“modulator approach”that utilizes acetic acid(HAc)as an additive to control the size and morphology of the resulting crystals.We demonstrate that after activation under vaccum at 100℃,the MIL-53(Fe)functions well for H2S selective oxidation.The introduction of acetic acid in the presence of benzene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid(H2BDC)would result in a series of MIL-53(Fe)nanocrystals(denoted as MIL-53(Fe)-xH,x stands for the volume of added HAc with morphology evoluting from irregular particles to short hexagonal columns.The vacuum treatment facilitates the removal of acetate groups,thus generating Fe3+Lewis acid sites.Consequently,the resulted MIL-53(Fe)-xH exhibits good catalytic activity(98%H2S conversion and 92%sulfur selectivity)at moderate reaction temperatures(100–190℃).The MIL-53(Fe)-5H is superior to the traditional iron-based catalysts,showing stable performance in a test period of 55 h.展开更多

It has been found that by increasing the acetic acid/CeCl3·7H2O molar ratio, high uniform and crack-free films with well-developed grains were obtained and grain sizes of the films decreased. Elimination of cracks and decreasing grain size of the nano cerium oxide films caused corrosion resistance to increase.展开更多

However, the potential of endophytes within these bio-prospective medicinal plants remains unknown. The present study elucidates the endophytic diversity of medicinal plants(Caralluma acutangula, Rhazya stricta, and Moringa peregrina) and the endophyte role in seed growth and oxidative stress. Various organs of medicinal plants yielded ten endophytes, which were identified as Phoma sp.(6 isolates), Alternaria sp.(2), Bipolaris sp.(1), and Cladosporium sp.(1) based on 18 S rD NA sequencing and phylogenetic analysis. The culture filtrates(CFs; 25%, 50%, and 100% concentrations) from these endophytes were tested against the growth of normal and dwarf mutant rice lines. Endophytic CF exhibited dose-dependent growth stimulation and suppression effects. CF(100%) of Phoma sp. significantly increased rice seed germination and growth compared to controls and other endophytes. This growth-promoting effect was due to the presence of indole acetic acid in endophytic CF. The gas chromatography/mass spectrometry(GC/MS) analysis showed the highest indole acetic acid content((54.31±0.21) μmol/L) in Bipolaris sp. In addition, the isolate of Bipolaris sp. exhibited significantly higher radical scavenging and anti-lipid peroxidation activity than the other isolates. Bipolaris sp. and Phoma sp. also exhibited significantly higher flavonoid and phenolic contents. The medicinal plants exhibited the presence of bio-prospective endophytic strains, which could be used for the improvement of crop growth and the mitigation of oxidative stresses.展开更多

AAS results show that molybdenum is enriched on the surface as the passive film is dissolved. This enrichment decreases the corrosion resistance because it hinders chloride adsorption and Fe ion dissolution, and acts as a local pH buffer because it consumes protons. The dissolution ratio of Fe/Cr is approximately 10 during the active dissolution of the passive film. XPS results indicate that when the potential is in the passivation region, Cr comprises about 50% of the metal cations in the near-surface region of the passive film and is the main metal constituent in this region. When the polarization potential is much greater than the transpassivation potential, the Mo content accounts for approximately 45% of the metal cations in the nearurface region; Fe and Ni have no obvious influence on the formation, dissolution, or puncture of the passive film.展开更多

The vapor-liquid equilibrium data of four binary systems(acetic acid+p-xylene,methyl acetate+n-propyl acetate,n-propyl acetate+p-xylene and methyl acetate+p-xylene)are measured at 101.33 kPa with Ellis equilibrium sti...The vapor-liquid equilibrium data of four binary systems(acetic acid+p-xylene,methyl acetate+n-propyl acetate,n-propyl acetate+p-xylene and methyl acetate+p-xylene)are measured at 101.33 kPa with Ellis equilibrium still,and then both the NRTL and UNIQUAC models are used in combination with the HOC model for correlating and estimating the vapor-liquid equilibrium of these four binary systems.The estimated binary VLE results using correlated parameters agree well with the measured data except the methyl acetate+p-xylene system which easily causes bumping and liquid rushing out of the sampling tap due to their dramatically different boiling points.The correlation results by NRTL and UNIQUAC models have little difference on the average absolute deviations of temperature and composition of vapor phase,and the results by NRTL model are slightly better than those by UNIQUAC model except for the methyl acetate+n-propyl acetate system,for which the latter gives more accurate correlations.展开更多

Based on steady states simulation, a sensitivity analysis is carried out to detect the output multiple steady states in the system. Different solution branches are observered when the flow rates of the feed stream and the organic reflux stream are selected as manipulated variables. The kinetics of mild steel corrosion in aqueous acetic acid solution has been investigated by weight loss and polarization techniques at 25,35 and 45℃.The weight loss of mild steel at room temperature (25℃) has be...The kinetics of mild steel corrosion in aqueous acetic acid solution has been investigated by weight loss and polarization techniques at 25,35 and 45℃.The weight loss of mild steel at room temperature (25℃) has been found to be quite significant,indicating poor corrosion resistance in acetic acid.The maximum corrosion rate has been observed in 25% acetic acid solution at all three experimental temperatures.The decrease in corrosion rate after attaining a maximum value has been attributed to the deposition of corrosion product on the surface.Anodic polarization curves exhibit active behaviour at each concentration and temperature with a shift towards higher current density region and increased corrosion rates at higher temperatures.The cathodic polarization curves are almost identical irrespective either of the concentration of acetic acid or temperature.The results obtained by both the techniques are in good agreement,while the surface studies support the conclusions drawn from the weight loss method.展开更多

The reaction rate increased with increase in catalyst concentration and reaction temperature, but decreased with an increase in water concentration. Stirrer speed had virtually no effect on the rate under the experimental conditions. The rate data were correlated with a second-order kinetic model based on homogeneous reaction. The apparent activation energy was found to be 22.9kJ mol-1 for the formation of methyl acetate. The methyl acetate production was carried out as batch and continuous in a packed bed reactive distillation column with high purity methyl acetate produced.展开更多

文摘Mo_(2)CT_(x)MXene is a novel two-dimensional material,which is generally made by the etching of inorganic acid solutions,such as hydrofluoric acid(HF)or hydrochloric acid(HCl).Those solutions are always corrosive and hazardous.In this paper,a mild organic acid,acetic acid(CH_(3)COOH),was selected to synthesize Mo_(2)CT_(x)MXene.30 mL acetic acid(HAc)with the concentration of 13 mol/L was mixed with 2 g acetate(CH_(3)COONa or CH_(3)COOK)and 10 mL water to make etching solution(NaAc+HAc or KAc+HAc).In the solution,the concentration of CH_(3)COO^(-)was 10 mol/L,the concentration of Na^(+)/K^(+)is 0.6/0.5 mol/L.The pH value is 2.8.Mo_(2)CT_(x)was obtained by hydrothermal etching at 240℃for 1 d.Compared with the general method of HF etching,the etchant is milder and the etching process is safer.On the surface of Mo_(2)CT_(x)nanosheet made by this method,acetate group(CH_(3)COO^(-))was adsorbed as termination,which is larger than the F/O/OH termination of that made by general HF etching.The lattice parameter c(LP c)of Mo_(2)CT_(x)etched with NaAc+HAc/KAc+HAc is 21.09Å/20.89Å.Moreover,the specific surface areas of the samples etched by NaAc+HAc and KAc+HAc were 18.1 m^(2)/g and 14.1 m^(2)/g,respectively,which were much larger than those etched by conventional methods.As the anode of lithium-ion battery,the specific capacity under current density of 100 mA/g at 100 th cycle was 108 mA·h/g,which is higher than the capacity of samples made by general HF etching.This work reports a novel method to make Mo_(2)CT_(x)MXene by the solution of mild acetic acid.The samples made by this method had very high specific surface area and relatively high lithium-storage performance.

文摘Real-time detection of acetic acid vapor is of concern for ensuring environmental and personal safety.However,acetic acid gas sensors,particularly those based on Bi_(2)O_(3),often fail to meet practical performance requirements owing to their slow response characteristics and high operating temperature.To enhance sensing performance,highly permeable Bi_(2)O_(3)microspheres decorated by Pt-nanoparticles are rationally synthesized by a facile template method.Among the fabricated sensors,the one based on 3 wt%Pt-decorated Bi_(2)O_(3)demonstrated excellent sensing performance.Specifically,the sensor displayed high selectivity for acetic acid,rapid response and recovery times(22.5 and 9 s,respectively),strong resistance to interference,and good long-term stability at a low operating temperature(150℃).Notably,the sensor exhibited an exceptionally high response of 126 to 100 ppm acetic acid—the highest reported value for Bi_(2)O_(3)-based sensors tested at a relatively low operating temperature in recent years.These results demonstrate that Pt-decorated Bi_(2)O_(3)holds strong potential for use in high-performance acetic acid sensors.

Plasma levels of TRP of HC are higher in young men, young women, old men, and old women in this order. Serotonin (5-HT) levels are higher in MMD than HC. Plasma levels of 5-HIAA of HC are also higher than those of patients of MMD. Plasma levels of kynurenine (KYN) of healthy old men and old women are higher than those of young men and old women. Plasma levels of KYN are higher in old women and young men of MMD than those of HC. </span><b><span style="font-family:Verdana;">Conclusion:</span></b><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> Plasma levels of 5-HT are higher in patients of MMD than those of HC, which may suggest that use of drugs inhibiting the 5-HT transportation may increase plasma levels of 5-HT in MMD.

文摘OBJECTIVE: Ulcerative colitis is a chronically recurrent inflammatory bowel disease of unknown origin. In the present study, the effect of ginger (rhizome of Zingiber officinale Roscoe) volatile oil on a rat model of colitis was evaluated. METHODS: Volatile oil of ginger with doses of 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg, prednisolone (4 mg/kg), or vehicle were administered orally to groups of male Wistar rats (n = 6) for 5 d. Animals were randomly divided into 6 groups, each group consisting of 6 rats. Colitis was induced by intracolonic instillation of 2 mL of 4% (v/v) acetic acid solution. All rats were sacrificed 24 h later and the tissue injuries were assessed macroscopically and histopathologically. RESULTS: Ginger volatile oil with all doses reduced colon weight/length ratio (P 〈 0.01) and the effects were similar to the reference drugs. Higher oral doses of volatile oil (200 and 400 mg/kg) reduced ulcer severity (P 〈 0.05 and P 〈 0.01), ulcer area (P 〈 0.01) and ulcer index (P 〈 0.01). On the other hand, evaluation of microscopic scores showed that the dose of 400 mg/kg of volatile oil was effective to reduce inflammation severity (P 〈 0.01) and inflammation extent (P 〈 0.05) compared to the control group. CONCLUSION: It is concluded that ginger volatile oil could effectively reduce symptoms of experimental colitis in a dose-dependent manner.

文摘The oxidative desulfurization of a real refinery feedstock (i.e.,non-hydrotreated kerosene with total sulfur mass content of 0.16%) with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and acetic acid was studied.The influences of various operating parameters including reaction temperature (T),acid to sulfur molar ratio (nacid/nS),and oxidant to sulfur molar ratio (nO/nS) on the sulfur removal of kerosene were investigated.The results revealed that an increase in the reaction temperature (T) and nacid/nS enhances the sulfur removal.Moreover,there is an optimum nO/nS related to the reaction temperature and the best sulfur removal could be obtained at nO/nS=8 and 23 for the reaction temperatures of 25 and 60°C,respectively.The maximum observed sulfur removal in the present oxidative desulfurization system was 83.3%.

文摘Ru catalysts, supported on TiO 2 , CeO 2 , and CeO 2 -TiO 2 , were prepared by the impregnation method. The effect of the structure of the supports on the activity of Ru catalysts was investigated in the catalytic wet air oxidation (CWAO) of acetic acid under 230℃ and 5 MPa in a batch reactor. Physical properties including the surface area, crystalline phase, and surface components of the Ru catalysts were characterized by N 2 adsorption, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The CeO 2 -based Ru catalysts had good activity, and the prepared RuO 2 /CeO 2 catalyst showed markedly higher activity than the RuO 2 /CeO 2 -TiO 2 catalyst. The surface structure, the high amount of chemisorbed oxygen on the catalyst surface, and the suitable pH pzc value of the supports played an important role in the activity of the Ru catalysts in CWAO of acetic acid.
文摘A new separation method, reactive extractive distillation, was put forward for separating water and acetic acid. The separation mechanism was analyzed through infrared spectra technique. Isobaric vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data at 101.33 kPa for the binary or ternary systems consisting of water, acetic acid and tributylamine were measured. The activity coefficients were correlated by using Wilson, NRTL, and UNIQUAC Equations.The VLE experiment showed that tributylamine could enhance the relative volatility of water to acetic acid. An extractive distillation experiment was carried out and proved that tributylamine was a good extractive solvent.
文摘MIL-53(Fe)was synthesized using a“modulator approach”that utilizes acetic acid(HAc)as an additive to control the size and morphology of the resulting crystals.We demonstrate that after activation under vaccum at 100℃,the MIL-53(Fe)functions well for H2S selective oxidation.The introduction of acetic acid in the presence of benzene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid(H2BDC)would result in a series of MIL-53(Fe)nanocrystals(denoted as MIL-53(Fe)-xH,x stands for the volume of added HAc with morphology evoluting from irregular particles to short hexagonal columns.The vacuum treatment facilitates the removal of acetate groups,thus generating Fe3+Lewis acid sites.Consequently,the resulted MIL-53(Fe)-xH exhibits good catalytic activity(98%H2S conversion and 92%sulfur selectivity)at moderate reaction temperatures(100–190℃).The MIL-53(Fe)-5H is superior to the traditional iron-based catalysts,showing stable performance in a test period of 55 h.
文摘Nano cerium oxide films were applied on AA7020-T6 aluminum alloy and the effects of acetic acid concentration on the microstructure and electrochemical properties of the coated samples were investigated by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and potentiodynamic polarization methods. It has been found that by increasing the acetic acid/CeCl3·7H2O molar ratio, high uniform and crack-free films with well-developed grains were obtained and grain sizes of the films decreased. Elimination of cracks and decreasing grain size of the nano cerium oxide films caused corrosion resistance to increase.

文摘Medicinal plants have been used by marginal communities to treat various ailments. However, the potential of endophytes within these bio-prospective medicinal plants remains unknown. The present study elucidates the endophytic diversity of medicinal plants(Caralluma acutangula, Rhazya stricta, and Moringa peregrina) and the endophyte role in seed growth and oxidative stress. Various organs of medicinal plants yielded ten endophytes, which were identified as Phoma sp.(6 isolates), Alternaria sp.(2), Bipolaris sp.(1), and Cladosporium sp.(1) based on 18 S rD NA sequencing and phylogenetic analysis. The culture filtrates(CFs; 25%, 50%, and 100% concentrations) from these endophytes were tested against the growth of normal and dwarf mutant rice lines. Endophytic CF exhibited dose-dependent growth stimulation and suppression effects. CF(100%) of Phoma sp. significantly increased rice seed germination and growth compared to controls and other endophytes. This growth-promoting effect was due to the presence of indole acetic acid in endophytic CF. The gas chromatography/mass spectrometry(GC/MS) analysis showed the highest indole acetic acid content((54.31±0.21) μmol/L) in Bipolaris sp. In addition, the isolate of Bipolaris sp. exhibited significantly higher radical scavenging and anti-lipid peroxidation activity than the other isolates. Bipolaris sp. and Phoma sp. also exhibited significantly higher flavonoid and phenolic contents. The medicinal plants exhibited the presence of bio-prospective endophytic strains, which could be used for the improvement of crop growth and the mitigation of oxidative stresses.

文摘The properties of the passive film formed on 2205 stainless steel in acetic acid at high temperature that contained chloride ions were studied by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and electrochemical polarization measurements. AAS results show that molybdenum is enriched on the surface as the passive film is dissolved. This enrichment decreases the corrosion resistance because it hinders chloride adsorption and Fe ion dissolution, and acts as a local pH buffer because it consumes protons. The dissolution ratio of Fe/Cr is approximately 10 during the active dissolution of the passive film. XPS results indicate that when the potential is in the passivation region, Cr comprises about 50% of the metal cations in the near-surface region of the passive film and is the main metal constituent in this region. When the polarization potential is much greater than the transpassivation potential, the Mo content accounts for approximately 45% of the metal cations in the nearurface region; Fe and Ni have no obvious influence on the formation, dissolution, or puncture of the passive film.
文摘A synergistic catalytic effect between copper methanesulfonate and acetic acid in tetrahydropyranylation of alcohols and phenol at room temperature under solvent free condition has been described. Both alcohols (primary, secondary and tertiary) and phenols reacted with 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran smoothly to afford the corresponding tetrahydropyranyl ethers in good yields.
文摘In present work,liquid phase esterification of acetic acid with ethanol over dodecatungestophosphoric acid (DTPA) supported on K10 montmorillonite was systematically studied and optimization of process parameters was carried out.The 20% m/m DTPA/K10 was found to be the optimum catalyst with 90% acetic acid conversion and 100% ethyl acetate selectivity.The study was also explored to see the feasibility of 20% m/m DTPA/K10 as a catalyst for the alkylation of acetic acid with other alcohols like methanol,iso-propanol and n-butanol.The 20% m/m DTPA/K10 has shown increased activity with the increase in carbon number,at the same alcohol reflux.The results are novel.

文摘The vapor-liquid equilibrium data of four binary systems(acetic acid+p-xylene,methyl acetate+n-propyl acetate,n-propyl acetate+p-xylene and methyl acetate+p-xylene)are measured at 101.33 kPa with Ellis equilibrium still,and then both the NRTL and UNIQUAC models are used in combination with the HOC model for correlating and estimating the vapor-liquid equilibrium of these four binary systems.The estimated binary VLE results using correlated parameters agree well with the measured data except the methyl acetate+p-xylene system which easily causes bumping and liquid rushing out of the sampling tap due to their dramatically different boiling points.The correlation results by NRTL and UNIQUAC models have little difference on the average absolute deviations of temperature and composition of vapor phase,and the results by NRTL model are slightly better than those by UNIQUAC model except for the methyl acetate+n-propyl acetate system,for which the latter gives more accurate correlations.

文摘In this work, an industrial acetic acid dehydration system via heterogeneous azeotropic distillation is simulated by Aspen Plus software. Residue curves are used to analyze the distillating behavior, and appropriate operating region of the system is determined. Based on steady states simulation, a sensitivity analysis is carried out to detect the output multiple steady states in the system. Different solution branches are observered when the flow rates of the feed stream and the organic reflux stream are selected as manipulated variables. The performance of the column under different steady states is different. A method is oroposed to achieve the desired steady state.
文摘The kinetics of mild steel corrosion in aqueous acetic acid solution has been investigated by weight loss and polarization techniques at 25,35 and 45℃.The weight loss of mild steel at room temperature (25℃) has been found to be quite significant,indicating poor corrosion resistance in acetic acid.The maximum corrosion rate has been observed in 25% acetic acid solution at all three experimental temperatures.The decrease in corrosion rate after attaining a maximum value has been attributed to the deposition of corrosion product on the surface.Anodic polarization curves exhibit active behaviour at each concentration and temperature with a shift towards higher current density region and increased corrosion rates at higher temperatures.The cathodic polarization curves are almost identical irrespective either of the concentration of acetic acid or temperature.The results obtained by both the techniques are in good agreement,while the surface studies support the conclusions drawn from the weight loss method.

文摘Esterification of methyl alcohol with acetic acid catalysed by Amberlyst-15 (cation-exchange resin) was carried out in a batch reactor in the temperature ranging between 318-338 K, at atmospheric pressure. The reaction rate increased with increase in catalyst concentration and reaction temperature, but decreased with an increase in water concentration. Stirrer speed had virtually no effect on the rate under the experimental conditions. The rate data were correlated with a second-order kinetic model based on homogeneous reaction. The apparent activation energy was found to be 22.9kJ mol-1 for the formation of methyl acetate. The methyl acetate production was carried out as batch and continuous in a packed bed reactive distillation column with high purity methyl acetate produced.
