The relationship between heaven and humanity is one of the fundamental philosophical foundations of ecological ethics in ancient Chinese Confucian thought. As a master of Confucian philosophy of mind,Wang Yangming integrated the traditional Confucian discourse on the relationship between heaven and humanity into the principles of the philosophy of mind.Building on the traditional doctrine of benevolence centered on moral concern,he further developed an ecological view of‘benevolence as the unity of heaven and earth’.In his work Inquiry on the Great Learning,Wang Yangming systematically elaborated on this notion, emphasizing the philosophical expression of the relationship between humans and nature within an ethical framework and outlining the new implications of traditional Confucian ecological thought. This paper aims to analyze Wang Yangming’s ecological view of‘benevolence as the unity of heaven and earth’by examining the ecological ideas in his Inquiry on the Great Learning. On this basis,it seeks to refine the valuable achievements of traditional Chinese ecological civilization thought and strengthen the theoretical foundation of contemporary ecological ideas with Chinese characteristics. 展开更多

In this paper, I examine Steve Fuller's "sociological" social epistemology that must be distinguished from its "philosophical" counterpart. Fuller's sociological social epistemology can prompt deep philosophical analyses of the conditions for knowledge that themselves bear on what should count as knowledge. That is, it can be a vital prelude to developing an interdisciplinary investigation into educational issues. This paper looks at the three features that form an integral part of Fuller's social epistemology, which is partly elucidatory and partly critical: naturalistic, normative, and organizational aspects. It goes on to explore whether and to what extent Fuller's criticism of an "always already" thesis in philosophy and his idea of "knowledge management" afford an understanding of human knowledge in particular and human development in general. This paper concludes with an observation that Fuller's social epistemology is flawed in some respects but nonetheless is of relevance to the philosophical study of education. 展开更多

With the rapid development of the world economy and technology, Chinese cross-cultural communication with the outside world has become more frequent and widespread. It caused challenges for college English teaching in current stage. It is more urgent for us to adapt to the 21st century and cultivate cross-cultural personnel with practical language skills. This also caused widespread concern in foreign language field. English teachers who research the relations culture and language 20 years ago began to realize the importance of cross-cultural awareness training in foreign language teaching. However, compared to the fruitful theoretical results of cross-cultural awareness, training practice in college English teaching is not satisfactory. On the one hand, due to the lack of deep-rooted traditional language teaching methods and the necessity of understanding of cross-cultural awareness training, a part of the University haven' t implement literature teaching and develop students' cross-cultural awareness. On the other hand, many colleges and universities did try cross-cultural awareness trainings. However, due to lack of necessary theoretical guidance and effective implementation of the program, the effect is not very good. Many students still lack the necessary cross-cultural awareness. 展开更多
