The treatment of schizophrenia has also been the focus of various studies. Abnormalities in neurotransmitters and brain-derived neurotrophic factors are also often considered an important part of the pathogenesis of schizophrenia. This article reviews the efficacy of modified electroconvulsive therapy (MECT) combined with second-generation antipsychotic drugs in the treatment of schizophrenia and its effects on neurotransmitters and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). It explores and summarizes the current progress in the treatment of schizophrenia from multiple perspectives.展开更多
