Background:To study the anti-inflammatory,analgesic,fatigue resistant and antihypoxia effects of ethanol extract and water extract of pine pollen.Methods:Two different extracts of pine pollen were prepared into there different concentrations,that is 1.5 mg·mL^-1,4.5 mg·mL^-1 and 7.5 mg·mL^-1 respectively.The extract were studied by xylene-induced ear swelling,acetic acid distortion test and hot plate test.The antihypoxia and antifatigue effects were explored by weight-bearing swimming experiment,routine pressure hypoxia tolerance experiment and liver weight coefficient comparison.Results:Through the study of the four pharmacological effects of ethanol extract and water extract,we found that the anti-inflammatory,analgesic,antithyposia and antifatigue effects of ethanol extract were better than that of water extract.Moreover,the experimental effects significantly improved with the increase of the concentration,and the effect of alcohol increased dose group was accurate(P<0.05).Conclusion:Pine pollen has excellent effects of anti-inflammatory,analgesic,antihypoxia and anti-fatigue.Besides,with the increase of drug concentration,effects tend to be more obvious with positive correlation. 展开更多

Background:The prevalence of frailty among nursing home residents is high.However,in China,prevalence of frailty keeps unknown in this population.The purpose of this meta-analysis is to assess the prevalence of frailty and prefrailty and find out the factors related to the prevalence of frailty among nursing home residents in China.Methods:We searched both English(PubMed,Cochrane Library,Embase,Web of Science and Scopus)and Chinese(CNKI,WanFang,SinoMed,and VIP)databases from their inception date until 15 September 2020.Two reviewers independently screened literature,extracted data,and evaluated the risk of bias included studies.Stata12.0 software was used to conduct meta-analysis.Results:A total of 16 studies were included in this review,involving 7,777 nursing home residents.The prevalence of frailty ranged from 29.2% to 66.6% in the included studies.The pooled prevalence of frailty and prefrailty were 49%(95%CI:43-55%)and 42%(95%CI:34–50%),respectively.The assessment tool(P<0.001),gender(P<0.001),self-rated health(P<0.001)and type of institution(P<0.001)were significantly associated with the prevalence of frailty among nursing home residents in China.Conclusions:The prevalence of frailty among nursing home residents in China was relatively high.Considering the adverse health outcomes of frailty,nursing home administrators should screen frailty regularly,identify the risk factors of frailty,take actions accordingly and improve the frailty status for older adults. 展开更多

Objective To explore themechanism of Sangbaipi Decoction(SBPD)in the treatment of acute exacer-bation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).Methods The active compounds of SBPD and targets of those active compounds were collectedfrom the TCMSP database.Then we built the AECOPD target database by OMIM,GeneCards,PharmGKB and DrugBank.The intersectional targets arethep-otentialtargets of SBPD in the treatment ofAECOPD.We built"Potential Active Compounds-Drug-AECOPDTargets"Network via Cytoscape software.Weconstruct the Protein-Protein Inter-action(PPI)network through STRING database.We analyze the PPI network and“Potential Active Compounds-Drug-AECOPD Targets”Network via CytoNCA,then we got the core targets and key active compounds of SBPDin the treatment ofAE-COPD.TheGeneOntology(GO)function enrichment and KEGG pathway enrichment on the intersection targets were analyzed by R software.The key active compounds is molecularly docked with the core target protein receptors through AutoDock Vina soft-ware,and the 2D ligand-protein interaction diagramsare drawn through LigPlot 2.2 software.ResultsThere were 109 active compounds,205 targets of SBPD.2837 targetsrelated to AECOPD were picked out.157 intersectional targets were obtained from the two datas.We get 3 coretargets(TP53,JUN,VEGFA)and five key active compounds(quercetin,luteolin,kaempferol,wogonin,arachidonic acid)of SBPD.The GO function enrichment analysis showed that 2552 entries(P<0.05),of which there were 2261 biological processes(BP)items,and 84 related items of cell composition(CC),and 207 molecular function(MF)items.KEGG pathway enrichment analysis showed that 167 signaling path-ways(P<0.05),mainly including IL 17 signaling pathway,TNF signaling pathway,HIF-1 signaling pathway.The molecular dock-ing structure shows that the key active compounds of SBPD have good affinities with the core targets.ConclusionSBPD may treatAECOPD by anti-inflammatory,anti-oxidation,airway mucus secretion reduction,and pulmonary vascular remodeling reduction. 展开更多

Investigate the effects of the classic ancient prescription Danggui Buxue decoction on the vitamin D receptor,25-hydroxyvitamin D-1αhydroxylase,estrogen synthesis aromatase and estrogen receptorβmRNA and protein expression in osteoporotic rats.The classic ancient prescription Danggui Buxue decoction may affect the levels of estrogen synthesis aromatase,estrogen receptorβ,FSH,and Klotho in the body through regulating the expression of ovarian vitamin D receptor and 25-hydroxyvitamin D-1αhydroxylase to achieve the therapeutic effect of retinoic acid-induced osteoporosis in rats.The results of this experiment showed that compared with the control group,the serum FSH level of the model group was significantly increased,the Klotho level was decreased,the relative expression of ovarian tissue CYP27B1,CYP19,ERβmRNA and protein was significantly reduced,and the relative expression of vitamin D receptor mRNA and protein was significantly rise.After the intervention of the classic ancient prescription Danggui Buxue decoction and vitamin D,compared with the model group,the serum FSH content decreased,Klotho content increased,ovarian CYP27B1,CYP19,ERβmRNA and protein expression significantly increased,ovarian vitamin D receptor mRNA and protein expression significantly decreased.Based on the effect of the classic ancient prescription Danggui Buxue decoction on the vitamin D system,combined with the results of this experiment,it is concluded that the classic ancient prescription Danggui Buxue decoction may affect the levels of CYP19,ERβ,follicle-stimulating hormone,and Klotho in the body by regulating the expression of ovarian VDR and CYP27B1.The specific mechanism of the treatment of ovarian injury in osteoporosis rats needs further study.Background:Investigate the effects of the classic ancient prescription Danggui Buxue decoction on the vitamin D receptor,25-hydroxyvitamin D-1αhydroxylase,estrogen synthesis aromatase and estrogen receptorβmRNA and protein expression in osteoporotic rats.Methods:The experiment was divided into 6 groups:control group,model group(retinoic acid 100 mg/kg/d),vitamin D group(calcitriol 30 ng/kg/d),the classic ancient prescription Danggui Buxue decoction high,middle and low dose group(7.2 g/kg/d,3.6 g/kg/d,1.8 g/kg/d).Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay method was used to detect the effects of different doses of the classic ancient prescription Danggui Buxue decoction on serum follicle-stimulating hormone and Klotho levels in retinoic acid-induced osteoporosis rats;real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR was used to detect the classic ancient prescription Danggui Buxue decoction on retinoic acid effect of ovary vitamin D receptor,25-hydroxyvitamin D-1αhydroxylase,estrogen synthesis aromatase,estrogen receptorβmRNA expression in induced osteoporosis rats;Western-blot detection of the classic ancient prescription Danggui Buxue decoction on retinoic acid-induced osteoporosis ovary vitamin D receptor,CYP27B,estrogen synthesis aromatase,estrogen receptorβprotein The impact of expression.Results:Compared with the control group,the serum follicle-stimulating hormone level of the model group was significantly increased,the Klotho level was decreased,the relative expression levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D-1αhydroxylase,estrogen synthesis aromatase,estrogen receptorβmRNA and protein in the ovarian tissue were significantly decreased,and the relative expression levels of vitamin D receptor mRNA and protein were significantly increased.After the intervention of the classic ancient prescription Danggui Buxue decoction and vitamin D,compared with the model group,the serum follicle-stimulating hormone content decreased,Klotho content increased,ovarian 25-hydroxyvitamin D-1αhydroxylase,estrogen synthesis aromatase,estrogen receptorβmRNA and protein expression significantly increased,ovarian vitamin D receptor mRNA and protein expression significantly decreased.Conclusion:The classic ancient prescription Danggui Buxue decoction may affect the levels of estrogen synthesis aromatase,estrogen receptorβ,follicle-stimulating hormone,and Klotho in the body through regulating the expression of ovarian vitamin D receptor and 25-hydroxyvitamin D-1αhydroxylase to achieve the therapeutic effect of retinoic acid-induced osteoporosis in rats. 展开更多

Background:Endoscopic papillary large balloon dilation(EPLBD)has been proposed as an alternative to manage large bile duct stones.However,EPLBD alone or combined with sphincterotomy remains controversial.Methods:Between Jan.2014 and Dec.2017,195 consecutive patients with proven large common bile duct stones(size≥10 mm)were retrospectively analyzed.We compared the baseline characteristics,procedure time,success rate of stone removal and morbidity outcomes in different groups.Results:There were no significant difference between baseline characteristics of the groups compared.A total of 89.2%,95.4%,and 93.8% of the patients in the EPLBD,EPLBD+small sphincterotomy(SES),and EPLBD+complete sphincterotomy(CES)groups had stones cleared(P=0.473),respectively.There was no difference in terms of procedure time(33.5±10.2,34.8±9.0,34.9±8.2,in the EPLBD,EPLBD+SES,and EPLBD+CES groups,respectively).However,when assigned to tvvo groups according to bile duct stones diameter(bile duct stones<13 mm,bile duct stones≥13 mm).in the bile duct stones<13 mm group,the procedure time was significantly less in the EPLBD group than the EPLBD+SES group and the EPLBD+CES group(P=0.028).In the bile duct stones≥13 mm group,the mechanical lithotripsy rate of EPLBD was significantly higher compared to EPLBD+SES or EPLBD+CES(P=0.032).The complication rates were similar among all groups.Conclusions:The diameter of bile duct stones should be taken into consideration when choosing EPLBD alone or combined with small sphincterotomy for the removal of common bile duct stones. 展开更多

To investigate the expression of beta-amyloid protein on icariin in the hippocampal of senescence accelerated mouse SAMP10.The 8-month-old SAMP10 were randomly divided into model group,Donepezil Hydrochloride(DON)-treated SAMP10 group(1 mg·kg^-1)and ICA-treated SAMP10 groups(50、100、200 mg·kg^-1),with 6 mice in each group.while the age-matched senescence accelerated mouse/resistance1(SAMR1)were used as the normal control.After 30 days of oral administration,the method of Nissl was used to detect neurons on icariin in the hippocampal of senescence accelerated mouse SAMP10.The expression of betaamyloid protein on icariin in the hippocampal of senescence accelerated mouse SAMP10 was detected by the method of immunohistochemical.It was discovered that the nerve cells in groups of ICA arranged regularly,and the number of neurons increasing.We can conduct that ICA may reduce the average optical density of beta-amyloid protein in the CA1 and CA3 region of hippocampal on SAMP10.ICA may reduce the beta-amyloid protein deposition in CA1 and CA3 region of hippocampal on SAMP10 to improve learning and memory ability. 展开更多

Background:Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease,and is usually treated with levodopa combined with dopa decarboxylase inhibitor like Madopar.In order to improve the efficacy and reduce adverse reactions,Chinese herbal medicines are usually applied with Madopar to treat Parkinson’s disease in clinic.According to the results of certain randomized controlled trials,levodopa drugs combined with Chinese herbal medicines could achieve better effects like the improvement of clinical symptoms,the reduced incidence of adverse reactions,and the reduced dose of levodopa drugs(especially in the maintenance phase).However,not all the randomized controlled trials showed favorable effect on Parkinson’s disease.Therefore,it is necessary to find out how to effectively combine Chinese herbal medicines with Madopar.In order to evaluate the effects of Chinese herbal medicines on Madopar dose and adverse reaction during the maintenance phase of Parkinson’s disease,a meta-analysis was conducted.Methods:A systematic research was carried out for randomized controlled trials of combined Chinese herbal medicines and Madopar treatment for Parkinson’s disease during the maintenance phase published till August 2019.The primary outcome was the Madopar dose and secondary outcome was the incidence of adverse reaction.Data were pooled and analyzed with RevMan 5.3.Results:A total of 18 studies were included with 1,169 cases.However,study quality evaluation showed low methodological quality.Meta-analyses showed that the dose of Madopar in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group,and the incidence of adverse reactions in the treatment group was also significantly lower than that in the control group.However,the correlation analysis showed that the reduction of Madopar dose was not related to the reduction of incidence of adverse reactions(P>0.05).There existed publication bias on the primary outcome and secondary outcome.Conclusions:Chinese herbal medicines could reduce the Madopar dose and adverse reaction during the maintenance phase of Parkinson’s disease treatment.This conclusion must be considered cautiously,for lack of studies of high quality. 展开更多

Osteoporosis is a common disease in the middle-aged and elderly population and is a global health problem that needs to be solved urgently.Vitamin D deficiency is closely related to osteoporosis,and it is of practical significance to prevent and treat kidney and strengthen bone therapy.A large number of literature have confirmed that qi and blood to represent Danggui Buxue Decoction has a reliable therapeutic effect on osteoporosis,but the mechanism is still unclear.Based on the previous work of the research group,it is believed that the vitamin D axis may be a potential target for TCM Bushen Recipe.Syndrome and vitamin D deficiency have similar pathological changes,so it is suggested that Danggui Buxue Decoction may regulate osteoporosis by regulating the vitamin d axis. 展开更多

The prevalence of depression among the empty-nest elderly in China:a meta-analysis of cross-sectional studies

Empty-nest elderly are those who have no children or whose children are away from home,and they have to live alone or with their spouses.The prevalence of depression in the elderly is worrying,especially in the empty-nest elderly.This study aimed to examine the prevalence of depression among the empty-nest elderly in China and explore the factors that influence depression among the empty-nest elderly.Methods:We searched both international(PubMed,Cochrane Library,Embase,and Web of Science)and Chinese(CNKI,WanFang,SinoMed,and VIP)databases from their inception date until 12 April,2020,and collected cross-sectional studies on the prevalence of depression among the empty-nest elderly in China.Two reviewers independently screened the literature,extracted the data,and evaluated the risk of bias included in the study.Meta-analysis was performed using Stata12.0 software.Results:Twenty-seven cross-sectional studies were included in the meta-analysis.The pooled prevalence of depression among the empty-nest elderly in China was 41%(95%CI:32%–50%).Subgroup analysis revealed that the Geriatric Depression Scale versions,sampling methods,living areas,gender,age,chronic diseases,and living arrangements were associated with the prevalence of depression among the empty-nest elderly in China.Conclusions:The prevalence of depression among the empty-nest elderly in China was relatively high.Researchers could explore more reasons for the differences in the prevalence of depression among the empty-nest elderly from multiple perspectives in the future.Relevant departments should identify and routinely evaluate the negative emotions of the empty-nest elderly.Meanwhile,community nurses should care for the emotional needs of the empty-nest elderly,carry out targeted mental health education,and promote the realization of healthy aging. 展开更多

Background:The purpose of this research is to predict the mechanisms of the experienced prescription Jiangtang decoction for treating diabetic nephropathy based on network pharmacology,the predicted targets and pathways were validated by celluar experiments.Methods:The active ingredients of the experienced prescription Jiangtang decoction and their putative targets were collected from TCMSP Database and SwissTargetPrediction platform.Diabetic nephropathy-related targets were excavated from GeneCards and DisGeNET database.Then,the interactions of potential targets of the experienced prescription Jiangtang decoction with well-known diabetic nephropathy targets were used to construct the protein-protein interaction network by STRING database and Cytoscape,and screened the core targets via topological analysis.Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)enrichment analysis were performed by Metascape platform.Finally,we conducted in vitro experiments to verify this prediction of the network pharmacology.A diabetic nephropathy model was established by treating mesangial cells with D-ribose,in which the therapeutic effects of the experienced prescription Jiangtang decoction were evaluated.CCK-8 and LDH assay were used to test cell viability and cell toxicity,cell apoptosis was evaluated by Hoechst 33258 staining,AO/EB staining,levels of ROS were detected by fluorescent probe,the expression levels of MAPK signaling pathway-associated proteins and apoptosis-related proteins Bax were measured by western blotting assay.Results:A total of 74 active ingredients contained and 871 potential identified targets were retrieved from databases.Simultaneously,803 diabetic nephropathy-associated targets were also obtained,180 overlapped targets were considered as potential therapeutic targets of the experienced prescription Jiangtang decoction against diabetic nephropathy.By constructing a protein-protein interaction network and topological analysis,57 core targets were screened.Gene Ontology analysis highlighted 1655 Gene Ontology terms main including apoptotic signaling pathway,regulation of reactive oxygen species metabolic process and positive regulation of cell migration.KEGG enrichment analysis revealed that core targets were enriched mainly in MAPK,AGE-RAGE,TNF,PI3K-Akt signaling pathways.Cellular experiments further demonstrated D-ribose decreased mesangial cells viability,increased LDH release and the ROS level,induced apoptosis and activated the p38/JNK MAPK signal pathways,while the experienced prescription Jiangtang decoction could be useful in attenuation of D-ribose-induced damage.Conclusion:Network pharmacology intuitively shows the multi-component,multi-target and multi-pathway therapeutic effects of the experienced prescription Jiangtang decoction on diabetic nephropathy.By in vitro experiment,it revealed that the experienced prescription Jiangtang decoction has potential therapeutic effects on diabetic nephropathy via alleviating oxidative stress and apoptosis.the experienced prescription Jiangtang decoction treatment significantly inhibited the D-ribose-stimulated JNK and p38 MAPK activation. 展开更多

Background:To study the protective effect of different medicinal parts of honeysuckle on myocardial ischemia injury in rats.Method:SD mice were randomly divided into 6 groups:the normal group,model group,compound salvia miltiorrhiza group,Lonicera japonica Thunb.of flower bud group,flower group,and the stem leaf group.There were 8 rats in each group,including 4 males and 4 females.The normal group and model group were given equal amount of distilled water,whereas the other dosage groups were given the appropriate drug by intragastric administration,continuous gavage for 14 days.From the 12 days,in addition to the normal group were injected of the same amount of normal saline,the other groups were injected with 5g/kg.Injection of isoproterenol to establish the mouce mycardial ischemia model,its continuously 3d.To detect the serum of AST,CK,CK-MB,LDH and the myocardial issue of Chinese super oxideismutase and malondialdehyde level.Results:Compared with normal group,the levels of AST,CK,CK-MB,cTn-I,LDH and malondialdehyde were significantly increased in the model group(P<0.01)and the level of super oxideismutase decreased significantly(P<0.01)the levels of AST,CK,CK-MB,cTn-I,LDH and malondialdehyde in the serum of flower bud group,flower group and stem leaf group were significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the decreasing level of flower bud group,flower,leaf group of AST,CK,CK-MB,cTn-I,LDH and malondialdehyde was flower bud group>flower>leaf group,the activity of super oxideismutase was obviously increased,and the activity level of super oxideismutase of flower bud group,flower group and stem leaf group was flower bud group>flower>leaf group.Conclusion:In the myocardial ischemic injury model of rats induced by isoproterenol,Lonicera japonica Thunb.had a protective effect in all parts,and Lonicera japonica Thunb.bud had the greatest protective effect. 展开更多

Background:To appraise the reporting quality of systematic reviews as well as meta-analyses of cognitive interventions among Alzheimer's disease using the PRISMA statement,and to investigate the related factors influencing the reporting quality.Method:Web of Science,Pubmed,Embase,Medline,as well as Cochrane Library were searched to collect the systematic reviews as well as meta-analyses of cognitive interventions among Alzheimer's disease from inception to September 17th 2019.The PRISMA statement was used to appraise their reporting quality and investigate the compliance with each PRISMA item.Furthermore,the potential factors affecting the reporting quality were analyzed based on the univariate analysis.Results:Seventeen articles were included.The mean compliance with the PRISMA statement was 74.86% and the standard deviation was 0.13.The univariate analysis indicated that the number of authors(P=0.019)might be a factor affecting the reporting quality.However,the journal impact factor(P=0.133),the number of studies included(P=0.170),the number of databases retrieved(P=0.201),funding report(P=0.228),and original studies(randomized controlled trials only)(P=0.322)might not affect the reporting quality.Conclusion:The overall reporting quality was high,but the compliance with the 11 PRISMA items,such as"structured summary"and"protocol and registration"was low.Future research should focus on adequate reporting of these items in the hope that readers will be better able to discern the accuracy and reliability of relevant information and make correct decisions. 展开更多
