文摘Background:Bullying during adolescence is shaped by numerous psychosocial factors such as family dynamics, attachment, and peer relationships. This study aims to examine parental acceptance-rejection,attachment styles, and social exclusion factors as key psychosocial variables predicting bullying behavior in adolescents. Methods:In a cross-sectional study conducted with 349 high school students in Hakkari,Türkiye.Data were collected using the Olweus Bullying Scale, the Parental Acceptance-Rejection Scale, the Social Exclusion Scale, and the Three-Dimensional Attachment Styles Scale.Independent samples t-tests,one-way ANOVAs,Pearson correlations, and hierarchical regression analyses were performed. Results:Research findings reveal that peer bullying varies significantly according to gender, class level, parents’educational level, and socio-economic status.Furthermore, our findings indicate that social exclusion(β=0.506,p<0.01)and avoidant attachment(β=0.162,p<0.01)positively predict peer bullying, while secure attachment(β=−0.205,p<0.01),maternal(β=−0.385,p<0.01)and paternal(β=−0.217,p<0.01)acceptance/rejection negatively predict bullying. The final regression model explains approximately 55%of the variance in bullying. Conclusion:Our findings indicate that social exclusion, parental acceptance/rejection,and secure or avoidant attachment patterns may be associated with bullying behaviour in adolescents. These findings emphasise the necessity of family-and peer-focused interventions to combat bullying.

文摘Background:Emerging adulthood is a critical period for ego identity exploration and consolidation, and self-presentation on social media constitutes a salient online context for this developmental process. However, limited research has explored the associations between self-presentation on WeChat Moments and ego identity. This study aims to examine these associations, focusing on the mediating role of online positive feedback and the moderating role of gender. Methods:Using a three-wave longitudinal design, this study followed 767 Chinese college students(Mean age=18.96 years)through cluster sampling.Participants completed self-report questionnaires assessing self-presentation on WeChat Moments, online positive feedback, and ego identity status.Data analyses were conducted using mediation modeling and multi-group structural equation modeling. Results:Authentic self-presentation was positively associated with identity achievement and negatively associated with identity diffusion, whereas positive self-presentation was linked to higher levels of identity foreclosure.Online positive feedback played a significant mediating role in the associations between self-presentation strategies and identity statuses, and gender differences were observed in this mediating pathway. For both males and females, authentic self-presentation was associated with higher identity achievement through online positive feedback. However, indirect associations with identity foreclosure and diffusion were observed only among females:authentic self-presentation was linked to lower levels, whereas positive self-presentation was linked to higher levels of foreclosure and diffusion through online positive feedback. No comparable indirect associations were detected among males. Conclusions:Online positive feedback is closely linked to self-presentation strategies and ego identity statuses, with these associations varying by gender.

文摘This paper analyzes binary opposition thinking, dominant in Western societies since ancient Greece, its prevalence in philosophy, international relations, etc. While it influenced science and technology,it also caused conflicts, hindering the sustainable development of humanity. The paper explores the“binary co-existence”philosophy from Eastern thought. It explains its basis, applications, and significance in overcoming global social issues currently encountered. This philosophy emphasizes mutual dependence of opposites, offering solutions to global challenges. The paper stresses the urgency of shifting from binary opposition to binary co-existence,crucial for resolving conflicts and promoting sustainable development. It discusses ways like education and media to achieve this for global harmony.
文摘The subcortical visual pathway is generally thought to be involved in dangerous information processing, such as fear processing and defensive behavior.A recent study, published in Human Brain Mapping, shows a new function of the subcortical pathway involved in the fast processing of non-emotional object perception.Rapid object processing is a critical function of visual system.Topological perception theory proposes that the initial perception of objects begins with the extraction of topological property(TP).However, the mechanism of rapid TP processing remains unclear. The researchers investigated the subcortical mechanism of TP processing with transcranial magnetic stimulation(TMS).They find that a subcortical magnocellular pathway is responsible for the early processing of TP,and this subcortical processing of TP accelerates object recognition.Based on their findings,we propose a novel training approach called subcortical magnocellular pathway training(SMPT),aimed at improving the efficiency of the subcortical M pathway to restore visual and attentional functions in disorders associated with subcortical pathway dysfunction.
文摘I shall deserve the Reputation of having beene ye first to lay the grounds of two Sciences,"wrote Thomas Hobbes in 1646,"this of Optiques and yt other of natural Justice."For him, optics and politics were two prongs of the same effort:to naturalize humans’relations to their world and to each other. It was Descartes’Dioptrique, handed to him by Kenelm Digby in 1637,that cleared for him the path:naturalizing humans required physicalizing vision–as Kepler taught in his own optics–and removing from nature of all cognitive entities such as"species visible and intelligible."Between 1639 and 1646 Hobbes produced three professional, innovative treatises on optics founded upon"the opinion of the excellent Monsieur Des Cartes"but, finally, diverging from it in the most crucial point. For Descartes, ridding"Matter[of all]such Descriptions…as belong but to Spiritual Beings"required a spiritual,non-material entity to interpret the physical effects of the senses.Hobbes, however, insisted that the interpretation can and should be understood physically and mechanically, for"Vision is the judgement itself.

文摘Background:Resilience is crucial for medical college students to thrive in the highly stressful environment of medical education. However, the prevalence of problematic internet use(PIU)in this population may negatively impact their resilience. This study investigated the influence of problematic online gaming(PG)and problematic social media use(PSMU)on the resilience of medical college students in China. Methods:A sample of 5075 first-year medical college students from four Chinese universities was studied.PG served as the independent variable, resilience as the dependent variable, fatigue as the mediator, and PSMU as the moderator.Structural equation modeling was conducted using LISREL 8.80.Additionally,a moderated mediation model was evaluated using the jAMM module in jamovi 2.6.13.Results:The study’s findings revealed significant negative correlations between resilience and the variables of PG,PSMU,and fatigue.Fatigue mediated the relationship between PG and resilience(B=−0.04,95%CI=[−0.05,−0.03]).PSMU moderated the direct relationship between PG and resilience with the interaction term PG×PSMU significant(B=−0.004,t=−6.501,p<0.001)and the first stage(PG→fatigue)of the mediation with PG×PSMU significant(B=0.055,t=8.351,p<0.001).The detrimental effects of PG on resilience were more pronounced among individuals with lower levels of PSMU.Conclusion:This study concluded that addressing PIU,particularly PG,is essential for fostering resilience in medical college students. While PSMU itself is maladaptive, the underlying social media engagement may serve a protective role through social support in mitigating the adverse effects of PG on resilience.

文摘This study examined the positive changes that water-based nail treatments can bring to emotions and behavior in children who do not attend school and use a place for school-refusing children.Children who do not attend school and use a place for school-refusing children were given water-based nail treatments about once a week for three months. In addition, the parents of these children were asked to respond to questions about their children’s daily activities. The results showed that natural communication through nail treatments significantly increased positive emotions. However, continued nail treatments did not reduce the children’s problem behaviors. Some children returned to school, while others continued not attending school.Increased frequency of visits and number of treatments confirmed the promotion of communication. It was suggested that building positive relationships with family and supporters is important for achieving sustained effects from nail treatments. This study showed that nail treatments are a useful tool for promoting positive emotions,self-acceptance,and social skills, and may contribute to the emotional growth and social interest of children who do not attend school.
文摘What is spacetime? How do we perceive this medium? How can we fit it into our everyday linear lives? How can we situate ourselves within it in our post-industrial worldview,in an unsustainable world? This philosophical essay adopts a phenomenological method to interrogate the meaning of this fundamental dimension of reality.Spacetime is interpreted not merely as a physical structure but as a plastic field whose instability shapes inner and social life.Yet the contemporary human condition is marked by a profound alienation, much of which derives from a self-inflicted existential disorientation:I once chose exile and moved to a remote island in the Atlantic Ocean, becoming my own research material. In search of genuine contact with nature, the nonverbal appeared as a necessity.I turned to music as an archetypal language,in the Romantic sense of a medium offering pre-conceptual access to the real.I composed Light Atlas,a six-movement work aiming to capture the flight of seagulls and the eternal struggle between light and darkness. This led me back to physics,to my original question:the lived perception of spacetime.
