The excellent catalysts for anodic methanol oxidation reaction(MOR)of direct methanol fuel cells(DMFCs)require a weaker*CO adsorption but a stronger*OH adsorption.Nevertheless,the adsorption strength of the benchmark Pt-based electrocatalysts to the oxygen-containing species is generally a scaling relationship.To solve this problem,a stable Pt_(3)Sn_(0.7)Cr_(0.3)intermetallic structure with appropriate adsorption energies of dualintermediates is designed and achieved.Both experimental and density functional theory calculations corroborate that the addition of Cr brought more electron transfer and stronger orbital hybridization,which upgrades the electron density of Pt but reversely downgrades that of Sn.Consequently,the adsorption site of*OH as well as the adsorption energies of*CO and*OH on Pt_(3)Sn_(0.7)Cr_(0.3)surface were optimized at the same time.Beyond providing a promising DMFC electrocatalyst that breaks the scaling adsorption relationship of oxygen-containing species,this work presents valuable insights into the atomic-level rational design of catalysts according to the reaction mechanism. 展开更多

Controlling the construction of physical colors on the surfaces of transparent dielectric crystals is crucial for surface coloration and anti-counterfeiting applications.In this study,we present a novel approach to creating stable physical colors on the surface of lithium niobate crystals by combining gold ion implantation with laser direct writing technologies.The interaction between the laser,the implanted gold nanoparticles,and the crystal lattice induces permanent,localized modifications on the crystal surface.By fine-tuning the laser direct writing parameters,we reshaped the gold nanoparticles into spheres of varying sizes on the crystal surface,resulting in the display of red,green,blue,and pale-yellow colors.We investigated the influence of the implanted Au nanoparticles-particularly their localized surface plasmon resonances-on the modifications of the lithium niobate crystal lattice during the laser writing process using confocal Raman spectroscopy and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy.Our findings reveal that the embedded Au nanoparticles play a pivotal role in altering the conventional light-matter interaction between the crystal lattice and the laser,thereby facilitating the generation of surface colors.This work opens new avenues for the development of vibrant surface colors on transparent dielectric crystals. 展开更多

由于具有高安全性和优异的循环稳定性,二氧化钛(TiO_(2))作为负极材料被广泛地应用于锂离子电池领域。但是较差的导电性和离子传输速率限制了TiO_(2)的进一步应用和发展。鉴于此,我们以花状NH_(2)-MIL-125(Ti)为前驱体和硬模板,成功合... 由于具有高安全性和优异的循环稳定性,二氧化钛(TiO_(2))作为负极材料被广泛地应用于锂离子电池领域。但是较差的导电性和离子传输速率限制了TiO_(2)的进一步应用和发展。鉴于此,我们以花状NH_(2)-MIL-125(Ti)为前驱体和硬模板,成功合成出了具有花状结构的超细纳米TiO_(2)/多孔氮掺杂碳片(N-doped porous carbon)复合物(记为FL-TiO_(2)/NPC)。过程中所制备的纳米TiO_(2)-金属有机构架(Ti-MOF)展现出由二维褶皱多孔纳米片堆积、组装而成的花状结构。一方面,二维褶皱纳米片包含TiO_(2)纳米颗粒可以增大活性物质与电解液的接触面积;另一方面,氮掺杂多孔碳基体可以提高整体复合物的导电性和结构完整性。将所获得的FL-TiO_(2)/NPC作为负极组装成的锂半电池,在0.5 A·g^(−1)、300圈后仍有384.2 mAh·g^(−1)以及在1 A·g^(−1)、500圈仍有279.1 mAh·g^(−1)的比容量。进一步性能测试表明,在2 A·g^(−1)、2000圈长循环测试后,其仍能保持256.5 mAh·g^(−1)的比容量和接近100%的库伦效率。该优异的电化学活性和稳定性主要起源于材料独特的花状结构。我们的合成策略为今后制备高储锂性能的金属氧化物/多孔氮掺杂碳负极提供了一种新的思路。 展开更多

Bearing fault diagnosis is vital to safeguard the heath of rotating machinery.It can help to avoid economic losses and safe accidents in time.Effective feature extraction is the premise of diagnosing bearing faults.However,effective features characterizing the health status of bearings are difficult to extract from the raw bearing vibration signals.Furthermore,inefficient feature extraction results in substantial time wastage,making it hard to apply in realtime monitoring.A novel feature extraction method for diagnosing bearing faults using multiscale improved envelope spectrum entropy(MIESE)is proposed in this work.First,bearing vibration signals are analyzed across multiple scales,and improved envelope spectrum entropy(IESE)is extracted fromthese signals at each scale to form an original feature set.Subsequently,joint approximate diagonalization eigenmatrices(JADE)is applied to fuse above feature set for effectively eliminating redundancy and generated a refined feature set.Finally,the newly generated feature set is input into support vectormachines(SVMs)to effectively diagnose bearing health status.Two cases studies are employed to demonstrate the reliability of the proposed method.The results illustrate that the proposed method can improve the stability of extracted features and increase the computational efficiency. 展开更多

Antimony selenide(Sb_(2)Se_(3))is an emerging solar cell material.Here,we demonstrate that an organic small molecule of 4,4',4''-tris(carbazol-9-yl)-triphenylamine(TCTA)can efficiently passivate the anode interface of the Sb_(2)Se_(3)solar cell.We fabricated the device by the vacuum thermal evaporation,and took ITO/TCTA(3.0 nm)/Sb_(2)Se_(3)(50 nm)/C60(5.0 nm)/Alq3(3.0 nm)/Al as the device architecture,where Alq3 is the tris(8-hydroxyquinolinato)aluminum.By introducing a TCTA layer,the open-circuit voltage is raised from 0.36 to 0.42 V,and the power conversion efficiency is significantly improved from 3.2%to 4.3%.The TCTA layer not only inhibits the chemical reaction between the ITO and Sb_(2)Se_(3)during the annealing process but it also blocks the electron diffusion from Sb_(2)Se_(3)to ITO anode.The enhanced performance is mainly attributed to the suppression of the charge recombination at the anode interface. 展开更多

The uncontrollable dendrite growth of lithium anode and active material dissolution of transition metal oxides cathodes severely hinder the development of lithium metal batteries.An effective strategy to address these issues is optimizing the separator to regulate ion transport and trap the lost active component.Herein,a crosslinked gelatin nonwoven(CGN)separator is elaborately fabricated through electrospinning and in-situ vapor phase crosslinking process to manipulate the dual electrode interface.Benefitting from the characteristic composition of gelatin,and porous structure of electrospun nonwoven,the CGN separator exhibits excellent interface wettability and low interface resistance,featuring a high Li^(+)transference number of 0.70 and high ionic conductivity of 3.75 m S/cm.As expected,the symmetrical Li/Li cells present stable cycling behavior for 1900 h at 0.5 mA/cm^(2)with low overpotential of 20 mV.The optimized LiMn_(2)O_(4)/Li cells deliver high reversible capacity of 103 m Ah/g as well as high capacityretention ratio of 83.7%after 100 cycles at 0.3 C,which can be effectively attributed to the strong interaction between CGN separator and Mn ions to prevent the loss of active Mn component.This study indicates the application potential of protein-based electrospun membrane for high-performance lithium metal batteries. 展开更多

It has been almost 20 years since the first report of a WRKY transcription factor, SPF1, from sweet potato. Great progress has been made since then in establishing the diverse biological roles of WRKY transcription factors in plant growth, development, and responses to biotic and abiotic stress. Despite the functional diversity, almost all ana-lyzed WRKY proteins recognize the TrGACC/T W-box sequences and, therefore, mechanisms other than mere recognition of the core W-box promoter elements are necessary to achieve the regulatory specificity of WRKY transcription factors. Research over the past several years has revealed that WRKY transcription factors physically interact with a wide range of proteins with roles in signaling, transcription, and chromatin remodeling. Studies of WRKY-interacting proteins have provided important insights into the regulation and mode of action of members of the important family of transcrip-tion factors. It has also emerged that the slightly varied WRKY domains and other protein motifs conserved within each of the seven WRKY subfamilies participate in protein-protein interactions and mediate complex functional interactions between WRKY proteins and between WRKY and other regulatory proteins in the modulation of important biologi- cal processes. In this review, we summarize studies of protein-protein interactions for WRKY transcription factors and discuss how the interacting partners contribute, at different levels, to the establishment of the complex regulatory and functional network of WRKY transcription factors. 展开更多

Salicylic acid(SA)plays a pivotal role in plant response to biotic and abiotic stress.Several core SA signaling regulators and key proteins in SA biosynthesis have been well characterized.However,much remains unknown about the origin,evolution,and early diversification of core elements in plant SA signaling and biosynthesis.In this study,we identified 10 core protein families in SA signaling and biosynthesis across green plant lineages.We found that the key SA signaling receptors,the nonexpresser of pathogenesis-related(NPR)proteins,originated in the most recent common ancestor(MRCA)of land plants and formed divergent groups in the ancestor of seed plants.However,key transcription factors for SA signaling,TGACG motif-binding proteins(TGAs),originated in the MRCA of streptophytes,arguing for the stepwise evolution of core SA signaling in plants.Different from the assembly of the core SA signaling pathway in the ancestor of seed plants,SA exists extensively in green plants,including chlorophytes and streptophyte algae.However,the full isochorismate synthase(ICS)-based SA synthesis pathway was first assembled in the MRCA of land plants.We further revealed that the ancient abnormal inflorescence meristem 1(AIM1)-basedβ-oxidation pathway is crucial for the biosynthesis of SA in chlorophyte algae,and this biosynthesis pathway may have facilitated the adaptation of early-diverging green algae to the high-light-intensity environment on land.Taken together,our findings provide significant insights into the early evolution and diversification of plant SA signaling and biosynthesis pathways,highlighting a crucial role of SA in stress tolerance during plant terrestrialization. 展开更多

Seeing that target functions axe usually outside the native spaces, and that one has to solve a large scaled system of linear equations to obtain combinatorial coefficients of interpolant functions, the authors first probe into some problems about interpolation with Gaussian radial functions. Then they construct quasi- interpolation operators by Gaussian radial function, and get the degrees of approximation. Moreover, they show the error relations between quasi-interpolation and interpolation when they have the same basis functions. A central role of the endoplasmic reticulum(ER)is the synthesis,folding and quality control of secretory proteins.Secretory proteins usually exit the ER to enter the Golgi apparatus in coat protein complex II(COPII)-coated vesicles before transport to different subcellular destinations.However,in plants there are specialized ER-derived vesicles(ERDVs)that carry specific proteins but,unlike COPII vesicles,can exist as independent organelles or travel to the vacuole in a Golgi-independent manner.These specialized ERDVs include protein bodies and precursor-accumulating vesicles that accumulate storage proteins in the endosperm during seed development.Specialized ERDVs also include precursor protease vesicles that accumulate amino acid sequence KDEL-tailed cysteine proteases and ER bodies in Brassicales plants that accumulate myrosinases that hydrolyzes glucosinolates.These functionally specialized ERDVs act not only as storage organelles but also as platforms for signal-triggered processing,activation and deployment of specific proteins with important roles in plant growth,development and adaptive responses.Some specialized ERDVs have also been exploited to increase production of recombinant proteins and metabolites.Here we discuss our current understanding of the functional diversity,evolutionary mechanisms and biotechnological application of specialized ERDVs,which are associated with some of the highly remarkable characteristics important to plants. 展开更多

Purpose–The purpose of this paper is to propose a novel improved teaching and learning-based algorithm(TLBO)to enhance its convergence ability and solution accuracy,making it more suitable for solving large-scale optimization issues.Design/methodology/approach–Utilizing multiple cooperation mechanisms in teaching and learning processes,an improved TBLO named CTLBO(collectivism teaching-learning-based optimization)is developed.This algorithm introduces a new preparation phase before the teaching and learning phases and applies multiple teacher–learner cooperation strategies in teaching and learning processes.Applying modularizationidea,based on the configuration structure of operators ofCTLBO,six variants ofCTLBOare constructed.Foridentifying the best configuration,30 general benchmark functions are tested.Then,three experiments using CEC2020(2020 IEEE Conference on Evolutionary Computation)-constrained optimization problems are conducted to compare CTLBO with other algorithms.At last,a large-scale industrial engineering problem is taken as the application case.Findings–Experiment with 30 general unconstrained benchmark functions indicates that CTLBO-c is the best configuration of all variants of CTLBO.Three experiments using CEC2020-constrained optimization problems show that CTLBO is one powerful algorithm for solving large-scale constrained optimization problems.The application case of industrial engineering problem shows that CTLBO and its variant CTLBO-c can effectively solve the large-scale real problem,while the accuracies of TLBO and other meta-heuristic algorithm are far lower than CLTBO and CTLBO-c,revealing that CTLBO and its variants can far outperform other algorithms.CTLBO is an excellent algorithm for solving large-scale complex optimization issues.Originality/value–The innovation of this paper lies in the improvement strategies in changing the original TLBO with two-phase teaching–learning mechanism to a new algorithm CTLBO with three-phase multiple cooperation teaching–learning mechanism,self-learning mechanism in teaching and group teaching mechanism.CTLBO has important application value in solving large-scale optimization problems. 展开更多
