The high-temperature dissolution behavior of primary carbides in samples taken from GCr15 continuous-casting bloom was observed in-situ by confocal laser scanning microscopy.Equations were fitted to the dissolution kinetics of primary carbides during either heating or soaking.Dissolution of carbides proceeded in three stages(fast→slow→faster)as either temperature or holding time was increased.During the heating process and during the first and third stages of the soaking process,the original size of the carbides determined the steepness of the slope,but during the middle(“slow”)stage of the soaking process,the slope remained zero.The initial size of the carbides varied greatly,but their final dissolution temperature fell within the narrow range of 1210-1235℃,and the holding time remained within 50 min.Fractal analysis was used to study the morphological characteristics of small and medium-sized carbides during the dissolution process.According to changes in the fractal dimension before and after soaking,the carbides tended to evolve towards a more regular morphology. 展开更多

Based on year-long mooring observations(January-December 2013)near the Xisha Islands in the northwestern South China Sea,this study investigates the characteristics of typhoon-induced near-inertial waves(NIWs)during three events(typhoons Wutip,Nari,and Haiyan).The influence of mesoscale eddies on NIWs and the interaction between NIWs and internal tides(ITs)were analyzed.Notably,near-inertial kinetic energy(NIKE)increased significantly following typhoon Haiyan,reaching a peak value of 40.60 J/m^(3),the highest recorded NIKE in 2013.This value was approximately threefold and fivefold larger than those generated by typhoons Wutip and Nari,respectively.NIKE generated by all three typhoons exhibited downward radiation.Power spectral analysis revealed significant frequency shifts in NIWs during each typhoon,with shifts linked to mesoscale eddies present at the observation site.Additionally,bicoherence analysis reveals that the fD_(1)(f+D_(1))and D_(2)−f waves(where f is the local inertial frequency,and D1 and D_(2)denote the frequencies of diurnal and semidiurnal ITs,respectively)in the power spectrum originate from the nonlinear interactions between NIWs and ITs during typhoons Wutip and Haiyan.Temporal analysis of kinetic energy and shear showed that the enhancement of nonlinear coupling between NIWs and ITs was primarily driven by the strong NIWs with strong vertical shear.This study provides valuable insights into the generation,propagation,and interaction of NIWs and ITs,contributing to a deeper understanding of ocean mixing processes in response to different typhoon conditions. 展开更多

Wearable signal analysis is an important technology for monitoring physiological signals without interfering with an individual’s daily behavior.As detecting cardiovascular diseases can dramatically reduce mortality,arrhythmia recognition using ECG signals has attracted much attention.In this paper,we propose a singlechannel convolutional neural network to detect Atrial Fibrillation(AF)based on ECG signals collected by wearable devices.It contains 3 primary modules.All recordings are firstly uniformly sized,normalized,and Butterworth low-pass filtered for noise removal.Then the preprocessed ECG signals are fed into convolutional layers for feature extraction.In the classification module,the preprocessed signals are fed into convolutional layers containing large kernels for feature extraction,and the fully connected layer provides probabilities.During the training process,the output of the previous pooling layer is concatenated with the vectors of the convolutional layer as a new feature map to reduce feature loss.Numerous comparison and ablation experiments are performed on the 2017 PhysioNet/CinC Challenge dataset,demonstrating the superiority of the proposed method. 展开更多

AIM: To investigate the changes of methylation state and expression of RASSF1A gene in human gastric cancer cell lines SGC7901 and BGC823 which were treated in vitro with demethlylating agent 5-Aza-CdR in combination with histone deacetylase inhibitor NaB. METHODS: After SGC7901 and BGC823 cells were treated with 5-Aza-CdR and/or NaB, the methylation state of RASSFIA gene was detected by methylationspecific PCR, and the changes in expression of mRNA and protein level of RASSFIA gene were observed by RT-PCR and Western-blotting before and after drug treatment. RESULTS: Hypermethylation was detected in the promoter region of RASSF1A gene in both SGC7901 and BGC823 cells, and there was no expression of this gene at both mRNA and protein level. After treatment with 5-Aza-CdR, demethylation occurred in the promoter region of RASSFIA gene, which subsequently induced re-expression of this gene. The treatment with NaB alone showed no effect on the methylation state and expression of RASSFIA gene. The combined treatment of 5-Aza-CdR and NaB induced complete demethylation of RASSFIA gene, leading to a significantly higher reexpression of the mRNA and protein of RASSFIA than those treated with 5-Aza-CdR alone (P 〈 0.05). CONCLUSION: Hypermethylation in the promoter region is related to inactivation of RASSFIA gene in human gastric cancer cell lines SGC7901 and BGC823, while demethlylating agent 5-Aza-CdR can reverse the methylation state of RASSF1A gene and induce itsre-expression. Histone deacetylase inhibitor NaB had a synergistic effect with 5-Aza-CdR in both demethylation and gene transcriptional regulation. 展开更多

目的探讨男男同性性行为(MSM)学生艾滋病病毒(HIV)感染者抗病毒治疗现状及相关因素,为HIV防治提供参考依据。方法2021年11月招募中国31个省级行政区的137名MSM学生HIV感染者开展线上调查,描述人口学特征、抗逆转录病毒治疗(ART)服药情... 目的探讨男男同性性行为(MSM)学生艾滋病病毒(HIV)感染者抗病毒治疗现状及相关因素,为HIV防治提供参考依据。方法2021年11月招募中国31个省级行政区的137名MSM学生HIV感染者开展线上调查,描述人口学特征、抗逆转录病毒治疗(ART)服药情况及治疗前后的CD4和HIV病毒载量水平等。采用Logistic回归分析MSM学生抗病毒治疗效果的相关因素。结果在纳入的研究对象中,14.6%为HIV晚发现,97.1%正在进行ART;排除启动治疗不足6个月的感染者后,病毒完全抑制率达到76.9%。Logistic回归分析结果显示,服药时间>24个月的学生HIV感染者(OR=5.28,95%CI=1.38~20.22)更可能ART抑制成功,报告有身体感受方面副作用(OR=0.08,95%CI=0.01~0.71)和认知方面副作用(OR=0.28,95%CI=0.09~0.90)的学生HIV感染者更可能造成ART抑制失败(P值均<0.05)。结论MSM学生群体中ART的疗效仍有上升空间,应采取措施提高治疗依从性,在制定治疗方案时需充分考虑HIV感染者的个体差异和药物副作用。 展开更多

Relationship between the cytotoxin-associated gene-A status of H pylori strains and cerebral infarction in European Caucasians and Chinese Han: A meta-analysis 被引量:12

AIM: To study the relationship between the cytotoxinassociated gene-A (CagA) status of H pylori strains and cerebral infarction among European Caucasians and Chinese Han by conducting a meta-analysis.METHODS: Ten case-control studies, with data on a total of 907 cases and 966 controls, were retrieved and considered; disqualified studies were excluded. The included studies were then tested for heterogeneity, and a meta-analysis was performed.RESULTS: The combined data revealed CagA-bearing strains of Hpylori which cause chronic infection are associated with an increased risk of cerebral infarction (OR = 2.66, 950 CI: 2.17-3.26), but no such relationship was found with CagA-negative strains (OR = 0.74, 95% CI: 0.49-1.10) in the overall population. We performed subgroup analyses, dividing the overall population into European Caucasians and Chinese Han subgroups, and analyzed the studies according to their subgroup classification. Through the subgroup analysis, an association between cerebral infarction and CagAbearing strains was found in both subgroups (OR = 2.60, 95% CI: 1.93-3.49 in Chinese Han; OR = 2.71, 95% CI: 2.05-3.59 in European Caucasians), but no significant association was found between cerebral infarction and CagA-negative strains (OR = 0.81, 95% CI: 0.45-1.48 in Chinese Han; OR = 0.64, 95% CI: 0.37-1.09 in European Caucasians).CONCLUSION: These results suggest CagA-bearing strains of H pylori are significantly associated with susceptibility to cerebral infarction in Chinese Han and European Caucasians, but that CagA-negative strains are not a definite predisposing factor in either subgroup. The magnitude of this association with cerebral infarction needs to be confirmed by prospective studies and combined studies of Hpylori eradication. 展开更多

The incidence of cold injury is high. However, the current situation regarding the diagnosis and treatment of cold injury in our country is not ideal. To standardize and improve the level of clinical diagnosis and treatment of cold injury in China, it is necessary to make a consensus that is practical and adapted to the conditions in China. We used the latest population-level epidemiological and clinical research data, combined with relevant literature from China and foreign countries. The consensus was developed by a joint committee of multidisciplinary experts. This expert consensus addresses the epidemiology, diagnosis, on-site emergency procedures, in-hospital treatment, and prevention of cold injury. 展开更多

This study was conducted to examine the association of perfluoroalkyl substance(PFAS)exposure with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM) risk and postpartum fasting blood glucose.We used a 1:2 matched case–control study with 84 GDM subjects and 168 healthy pregnant women from Beijing, China. The maternal blood was collected at 1–2 days before delivery, and eight linear isomers and fourteen branched isomers were determined in maternal serum.Logistic regression analyses were performed to evaluate the associations after adjusting for potential confounders. The median of the sum of levels of total PFASs was 4.24 ng/m L with a interquartile range(IQR) of 2.82–6.54 ng/m L. Although maternal PFAS exposure was not associated with risk of GDM, significant positive associations were observed between evaluated exposure to specific PFAS congeners and increasing blood glucose. The odds ratio(ORs) of the highest category of postpartum fasting blood glucose for perfluoro-1-metylheptylsulfonat(1 m-PFOS), perfluoro-3/4-metylheptylsulfonat(3 m+4 m-PFOS), perfluoro-5-metylheptylsulfonat(5 m-PFOS), and perfluorohexane sulfonate(PFHx S) were 2.03(95% CI: 1.09–3.77), 1.93(95% CI:1.04–3.58), 2.48(95% CI: 1.33–4.65), and 2.26(95% CI: 1.21–4.21), respectively, suggesting negative effects of maternal exposure to specific PFAS compounds on glucose metabolism. 展开更多

Bacillus velezensis is a Gram-positive and spore-forming bacterium.It has potent antimicrobial properties that can be used to promote plant growth and as a pesticide by inhibiting pathogens.B.velezensis has the capability to generate a diverse range of enzymes that have potential applications in various fields,such as enzyme production,fermented food,degradation of pollutants,and bioenergy.In addition,B.velezensis is a promising probiotic.It possesses high bile-salt tolerance characteristics and has a high success rate of colonization in the intestinal mucosa.Besides,the strain can also regulate gut microbiota constitute by increasing the number of beneficial microorganisms and decreasing the number of pathogens.Furthermore,based on its special properties,including high-yield protease production and high salt-tolerance,B.velezensis shows potential for use in marine protein fermentation,opening up new avenues for the development of novel food products and bioactive peptides.In addition,B.velezensis can shorten the fermentation time as well as improve the nutritional value and flavor of fermented food.The safety of B.velezensis for food production was evaluated.This review provides valuable insights into the potential uses and benefits of B.velezensis,particularly in the context of fermented foods. 展开更多

It is a great challenge to develop membrane materials with high performance and long durability for acidalkaline amphoteric water electrolysis.Hence,the graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4))nanosheets were compounded with the(2,2'-m-phenylene)-5,5'-benzimidazole(m-PBI)matrix for the preparation of m-PBI/g-C_(3)N_(4) composite membranes.The synthesis of g-C_(3)N_(4) nanosheets and m-PBI matrix have been confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscoy(TEM)and ^(1)H nuclear magnetic resonance spectra(^(1)H NMR),respectively.The fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR)and SEM of the composite membranes showed the g-C_(3)N_(4) nanosheets were well dispersed in the m-PBI/g-C_(3)N_(4) composite membrane.The mechanical properties test exhibited the good mechanical strength,and the TGA curves of m-PBI showed the high thermal stability of composite membranes.Besides,the m-PBI/g-C_(3)N_(4) composite membrane showed excellent proton and hydroxide ion conductivity,which was higher than pure m-PBI and Nafion 115 membrane.The acid-alkaline amphoteric water electrolysis test showed m-PBI/1%g-C_(3)N_(4) composite membrane has the best performance with a current density of 800 mA cm^(-2) at cell voltage of 1.98 V at 20℃.It showed that m-PBI/g-C_(3)N_(4) composite membrane has a good application prospect for acid-alkaline amphoteric water electrolysis. 展开更多

The coexistence of inorganic and organic contaminants is a challenge for real-life water treatment applications.Therefore,in this research,we used NH_2-MIL-125(Ti)to evaluate the single adsorption of hexavalent chromium(Cr(Ⅵ))or Rhodamine B(RhB)in an aqueous solution and further investigate simultaneous adsorption experiments to compare the adsorption behavior changes.The main influencing factors,for example,reaction time,initial concentration,reaction temperature,and pH were studied in detail.In all reaction systems,the pseudo-second-order kinetic and Langmuir isotherm models were well illuminated the adsorption progress of Cr(Ⅵ)and RhB.Thermodynamic studies showed that the adsorption process was spontaneous and endothermic.As compared to the single system,the adsorption capacity of Cr(Ⅵ)in the binary system gradually decreased as the additive amount of RhB increased,whereas the adsorption capacity of RhB in the binary system was expanded brilliantly.When the binary reaction system contained 100 mg/L Cr(Ⅵ),the removal rate of RhB increased to 97.58%.The formation of Cr(Ⅵ)-RhB and Cr(Ⅲ)-RhB complexes was the cause that provided facilitation for the adsorption of RhB.These findings prove that the interactions during the water treatment process between contaminants may obtain additional benefits,contributing to a better adsorption capacity of co-existing contaminant. 展开更多

BACKGROUND The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)happened in early December and it has affected China in more ways than one.The societal response to the pandemic restricted medical students to their homes.Although students cannot learn about COVID-19 through clinical practice,they can still pay attention to news of COVID-19 through various channels.Although,as suggested by previous studies,some medical students have already volunteered to serve during the COVID-19 pandemic,the overall willingness of Chinese medical students to volunteer for such has not been systematically examined.AIM To study Chinese medical students’interest in the relevant knowledge on COVID-19 and what roles they want to play in the pandemic.METHODS Medical students at Peking Union Medical College were surveyed via a webbased questionnaire to obtain data on the extent of interest in the relevant knowledge on COVID-19,attitude towards volunteerism in the pandemic,and career preference.Logistic regression modeling was used to investigate possible factors that could encourage volunteerism among this group in a pandemic.RESULTS A total of 552 medical students responded.Most medical students showed a huge interest in COVID-19.The extent of students’interest in COVID-19 varied among different student-classes(P<0.05).Senior students had higher scores than the other two classes.The number of people who were‘glad to volunteer’in COVID-19 represented 85.6%of the respondents.What these students expressed willingness to undertake involved direct,indirect,and administrative job activities.Logistic regression analysis identified two factors that negatively influenced volunteering in the pandemic:Student-class and hazards of the voluntary job.Factors that positively influenced volunteering were time to watch COVID-19 news,predictable impact on China,and moral responsibility.CONCLUSION More innovative methods can be explored to increase Chinese medical students’interest in reading about the relevant knowledge on COVID-19 and doing voluntary jobs during the pandemic. 展开更多

背景肝功能损伤情况在新型冠状病毒肺炎(coronavirus disease-2019,COVID-19)患者中较为常见,具体原因不甚清楚.本研就回顾性分析COVID-19患者的临床资料,探讨肝功能损伤的危险因素,期望为新型冠状病毒感染相关的肝功能损伤的防治提供... 背景肝功能损伤情况在新型冠状病毒肺炎(coronavirus disease-2019,COVID-19)患者中较为常见,具体原因不甚清楚.本研就回顾性分析COVID-19患者的临床资料,探讨肝功能损伤的危险因素,期望为新型冠状病毒感染相关的肝功能损伤的防治提供理论依据.目的本研究旨在探讨COVID-19患者肝功能损伤的相关危险因素.方法整理2020-02-04/2020-02-29日于武汉火神山医院诊治的100例COVID-19患者的临床病历资料.分析性别、年龄、基础疾病、饮食情况和入院前服药情况等临床参数与各项肝功能指标表达的关系.结果在100例新型冠状病毒肺炎患者中,54例为男性,其平均年龄为59.89岁±13.07岁.新型冠状病毒肺炎的常见临床症状为发热(81%)、咳嗽(64%)、乏力(52%).在100例患者中,38例患者观察到肝功能的异常,包括28例有丙氨酸氨基转移酶(alanine aminotransferase,ALT)升高,10例有天门冬氨酸氨基转移酶(aspartate aminotransferase,AST)升高,20例有谷氨酰转肽酶(gamma-glutamyl transferase,γ-GGT)升高,7例有碱性磷酸酶升高,6例有总胆红素升高,15例有乳酸脱氢酶升高.男性患者更易出现ALT(P<0.001)、AST(P=0.006)和γ-GGT(P<0.001)的升高.入院前抗病毒药或中成药应用与COVID-19患者的各项肝功能指标之间无统计学意义.结论男性新冠病毒性肺炎患者更易出现肝功能损伤. 展开更多
