We report a 23-year-old male presenting with new onset 1 hour seizure with loss of consciousness 20 days prior to admission, and recurrent seizure 2 weeks later. Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed an irregularly mass with enhancement involving the right frontal lobe. Microscopically, the lesion was characterized by sheets of Langerhans cells in addition to reactive inflammatory elements. Immunohistochemically, Langerhans cells were positive for Langerin, CDla and S-100 protein. The patient received no chemotherapy or radiotherapy after surgery. Methods: RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry were used to detect angiopoietins/Tie- 2 mRNA and protein expression in stomach carcinomas and their adjacent normal mucosa. Microvessel density (MVD) was counted according to CD34 immunohistochemical staining. Results: There was positive expression of Angiopoietins/Tie-2 mRNA and protein in stomach carcinomas and their paired adjacent normal mucosa. It was found that correlation between Ang-1 protein, Tie-2 mRNA expression and MVD was negative (F=-0.440, F=-0.267; P〈0.05), while the correlation between Ang-2 mRNA and its protein, Ang-2/Ang-1 protein ratio and MVD was positive (F=0.319, F=-729, F=739; P〈0.05). Moreover, MVD in groups with Ang-2 mRNAT/N ratio over 1.2 (the ratio of Ang-2 mRNA in stomach carcinoma to its adjacent normal mucosa) was higher than those with the ratio under 1.2. Conclusion: It was suggested that Ang-1 and Ang-2 antagonizes in the angiogenesis and the anglogenesis in tumor ultimately depended on Ang-2/Ang-1 ratio, once the expression of Ang-2 is higher than Ang-1 in some degree, the angiogenesis in tumors was promoted, otherwise oppositely. In other words, Ang-2 plays dominant role in the action of angiogenesis in tumors.展开更多

On Aug. 17, 2017, Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart, GRB 170817A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope (HE) onboard Insight-HXMT (Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart (SSS17a/AT2017gfo) with very large collection area (M000 cm2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition, Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity (TOO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy (0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817A. Meanwhile, Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints (-10-7 to 104 erg/cm2/s) for both GRB170817A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. Therefore the observation of Insight-HXMT constitutes an important chapter in the full context of multi-wavelength and multi-messenger observation of this historical GW event.展开更多

Existing strategies for controlling the wetting of multicellular spheroids mainly focus on surface chemistry and substrate rigidity. Although topography is another important feature in the biological micro-environment, its effect on multicellular spheroid wetting has seldom been explored. In this study, the influence of topography on the surface wetting of multicellular spheroids was investigated using subcellular- patterned opal films with controllable colloidal particle diameters (from 200 to 1,500 nm). The wetting of hepatoma carcinoma cellular (Hep G2) spheroids was impaired on opal films compared with that on flat substrates, and the wetting rate decreased as colloidal particle diameter increased. The decrement reached 48.5% when the colloidal particle diameter was 1,500 nm. The subcellular-patterned topography in opal films drastically reduced the cellular mobility in precursor films, especially the frontier cells in the leading edge. The frontier cells failed to form mature focal adhesions and stress fibers on micro-patterned opal films. This was due to gaps between colloidal particles leaving adhesion vacancies, causing weak cell-substrate adhesion and consequent retarded migration of Hep G2 spheroids. Our study manifests the inhibiting effects of subcellular-patterned topography on the wetting behaviors of multicellular spheroids, providing new insight into tissue wetting-associated treatments and biomaterial design.展开更多

文摘Objective: To explore angiopoietins (Ang-1, Ang-2)/Tie-2 expression and angiogenesis in stomach carcinomas. In other words, Ang-2 plays dominant role in the action of angiogenesis in tumors.

文摘Palladium-catalyzed asymmetric allylic C-H functionalization is an efficient method for the construction of enantiomerically enriched allylic derivatives. This includes asymmetric allylic amination reactions for the efficient construction of chiral amines. However, the asymmetric allylic C-H amination of alkenes by Lewis basic amines is a longstanding challenge.Herein,we present a highly efficient method for the palladium-catalyzed asymmetric intramolecular allylic C-H amination reaction. This method provides a means for synthesizing a range of biologically important enantioenriched isoindolines with high yields and excellent enantioselectivities(up to 98%yield and 98%ee).

文摘Finding the electromagnetic (EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star (BNS) merger, is critically important for gravitational wave (GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. Therefore the observation of Insight-HXMT constitutes an important chapter in the full context of multi-wavelength and multi-messenger observation of this historical GW event.

文摘Modern suspension bridges exhibit a trend of lighter structures, more diversified structural forms, and longer spans, the latter already exceeding two kilometers.Bridge performance under dead and live loads depends on their structural and main cable systems, while cablesupported bridges especially rely on the design analysis and construction control of the main cable. This literary survey systematically analyzes the research progress and state-ofthe-art status quo in the structural systems and design theories of suspension bridges, focusing on the structural systems, main cable shape analyses, live load effect analyses, and emerging lucrative research directions.More than 100 reliable references have been surveyed.(1)Multi-span or multi-main cable schemes appeal to increasing attention, which may become a better choice in terms of structural systems in scenarios with extremely long spans and heavy loads. The cable layouts, such as spatial main cables and hybrid cable-stayed suspension systems have also become feasible approaches for enhancing structural stiffness.(2)The shape-finding analysis during the construction phase is more complex and has more essential factors than that of the completed bridge state.Refined theories combining analytical methods and finite element methods are more suitable for the shape-finding analysis of complex cable systems than any single theory of the two, especially for novel cable systems.(3)The live load effect analysis methods based on traditional deflection theory or modified/improved deflection theories still have wide applications, but the refined theory of treating hangers as discrete members is also constantly developing, which is expected to provide new ideas for more complex structural analysis under the different types of live loads and their distribution forms.

文摘A variety of engineered nanoparticles, including lipid nanoparticles, polymer nanoparticles, gold nanoparticles, and biomimetic nanoparticles, have been studied as delivery vehicles for biomedical applications. When assessing the efficacy of a nanoparticle-based delivery system,in vitro testing with a model delivery system is crucial because it allows for real-time,in situ quantitative transport analysis, which is often difficult with in vivo animal models. The advent of tissue engineering has offered methods to create experimental models that can closely mimic the 3D microenvironment in the human body. This review paper overviews the types of nanoparticle vehicles, their application areas, and the design strategies to improve delivery efficiency, followed by the uses of engineered microtissues and methods of analysis. In particular, this review highlights studies on multicellular spheroids and other 3D tissue engineering approaches for cancer drug development. The use of bio-engineered tissues can potentially provide low-cost,high-throughput,and quantitative experimental platforms for the development of nanoparticle-based delivery systems.

文摘Studying the wetting behaviors of multicellular spheroids is crucial in the fields of embryo implantation, cancer propagation, and tissue repair. Our study manifests the inhibiting effects of subcellular-patterned topography on the wetting behaviors of multicellular spheroids, providing new insight into tissue wetting-associated treatments and biomaterial design.

文摘It is well acknowledged to all that an active equalization strategy can overcome the inconsistency of lithium-ion cell's voltage and state of charge(SOC)in series-connected lithium-ion battery(LIB)pack in the electric vehicle application. In this regard,a novel dual threshold trigger mechanism based active equalization strategy(DTTMbased AES)is proposed to overcome the inherent inconsistency of cells and to improve the equalization efficiency for a series-connected LIB pack.First,a modified dual-layer inductor equalization circuit is constructed to make it possible for the energy transfer path optimization.Next, based on the designed dual threshold trigger mechanism provoked by battery voltage and SOC,an active equalization strategy is proposed, each single cell's SOC in the battery packs is estimated using the extended Kalman particle filter algorithm.Besides,on the basis of the modified equalization circuit, the improved particle swarm optimization is adopted to optimize the energy transfer path with aiming to reduce the equalization time.Lastly, the simulation and experimental results are provided to validate the proposed DTTM-based AES.
