Geographical distance and stock price synchronization: evidence from China

The effects of geographic factors on information dissemination among investors have been extensively studied;however,the relationship between the geographical distance and stock price synchronization remains unclear.Grounded in information asymmetry theory,this study investigates the impact of geographical distance on stock price synchronization in the Chinese stock market.Using the data from the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges,we find that a greater geographical distance between mutual funds and firms considerably increases stock price synchronization,highlighting a strong positive relationship.Additional analysis show that firms in the regions with better external and internal governance,benefit more from reduced information asymmetry,than those in less regulated or transparent regions.These results have key implications for institutional investors and policymakers aiming to enhance information dissemination and market integration in China. 展开更多

We investigated the plasmon-exciton interactions in an individual gold nanorod(GNR)with monolayer MoS2 at room temperature with the single-particle spectroscopy technique.To control the plasmon-exciton interaction,we tuned the local surface plasmon resonance of an individual GNR in-situ by employing the photothermal reshaping effect.The scattering spectra of the GNR-MoS2 hybrids exhibited two dips at the frequencies of the A and B excitons of monolayer MoS2,which were caused by the plasmon-induced resonance energy transfer effect.The resonance energy transfer rate increased when the surface plasmon resonance of the nanorod matched well with the exciton transition energy.Also,we demonstrated that the plasmon-enhanced fluorescence process dominated the photoluminescence of the GNR-MoS2 hybrid.These results provide a flexible way to control the plasmon-exciton interaction in an all-solid-state operating system at room temperature. 展开更多

Hydrogen energy is considered as an ideal energy with the advantages of green,sustainability,and high energy density,and water splitting is one of the efficient strategies for green hydrogen without carbon emission.As for cathodic hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),besides the Pt-based electrocatalysts with excellent electrocatalytic activities on HER,transition metal nitrides(TMNs)as cheap and facile-prepared electrocatalysts have shown remarkable electrocatalytic activities.Incorporation of N atom in metal interstitial lattice results in the unique structure of TMN with high electronic conductivity,strong chemical stability,and d-band contraction.Although the intrinsic electrocatalytic activities of TMNs are mostly lower than those of Pt,it also attracted much attention to the development of TMN with higher intrinsic activity by electronic structure modulation.Here,we review the recent improvement strategies for the intrinsic electrocatalytic activities of TMN catalysts on HER by electronic structure modulation,such as facet,alloying,doping,vacancy,heterostructure,and hybridization.Some important breakthroughs of TMNs have been made;however,the scale application of TMNs with high activity in commercial water electrolyzer is urgent to explore.The future development of TMNs is proposed to focus on developing facile synthesis methods,elucidating regulation mechanism and catalytic mechanism,and enhancing activity and stability. 展开更多
