Methods: Immune cells of peripheral blood were compared among 17 cases of self-limited acute hepatitis B patients, 36 patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) and 32 healthy controls by flow cytometry (FCM). CD4+/CD8+ was monitored dynamically, meanwhile relations between T lymphocyte subsets and ALT and clearance of HBV DNA were explored. Results: Dynamic changes of lymphocyte subsets were found in AHB, the level of CD3+T cells was significantly higher compared to CHB group and healthy control group. Frequencies of CD3+CD4+ T cells in the third and fourth week and CD4+/CD8+ in the second week were higher compared to other groups. Frequ- ency of NK cells was low and was significantly lower compared to other groups in the third week specially. It was showed that CD4+/CD8+ was low followed by high abnormal ALT during early stage by dynamic monitoring of CD4+/CD8+, and CD4+/CD8+ was increasing accompanied by normal ALT set by set, but CD4+/CD8+ had no significant relation to ALT and HBV DNA. Conclusion: Immune status of AHB, compared to CHB and healthy controls, was significantly different and dynamic changes of lymphocyte sub- sets may be related to progress of disease.展开更多

Methods: Fifty patients with advanced NSCLC (stages III to IV), who had received therapies in our Center (Department of Biotherapy, Affiliated to Cancer Hospital of Shanxi Medical University, Taiyuan, China) from August 2008 to January 2010, were treated by DC-CIK + chemotherapy as the combined treatment group; fifty advanced NSCLC patients treated with chemotherapy at the same time served as controls. The immunologic function, short-term therapeutic effects, the 1-year survival rate, the life quality, the chemotherapy side effects were compared between the two groups, the safety and therapeutic effects of DC-CIK cells therapy were observed too. Results: There was no obvious change of subsets of T cells in peripheral blood before and after therapy in DC-CIK + chemotherapy group, and IFN-γ was improved after therapy in this group (P < 0.05); in chemotherapy alone group, the ratios of CD3+CD4+, CD3+CD8+, CD3-CD56+ cells and the secretion of IL-2, TNF-α decreased significantly after therapy (P < 0.05); the ratios of CD3+CD8+, CD3+CD56+ were improved after cell culture (P < 0.05). The disease control rate (DCR) of DC-CIK + chemotherapy group was higher than that in the chemotherapy alone group (78.0% vs 56.0%, P < 0.05); the 1-year survival rates of DC-CIK + chemotherapy group and chemotherapy alone group were 50% and 44% respectively, had no significant difference. Compared with chemotherapy alone group, the occurrence of chemotherapy side effects (including bone marrow suppression, nausea and vomiting, peripheral nerve toxicity) was less in the DC-CIK + chemotherapy group (P < 0.05). The physical and appetite were better in DC-CIK + chemotherapy group after therapy. Conclusion: To compare with simple chemotherapy, DC-CIK + chemotherapy for advanced NSCLC is safe and effective, and it can improve patients' life quality and remission rate, and prolong their survival time.展开更多

[ Method ] In the cyanophyte enrichment area of northern Dianchi Lake, phytoplankton community, chlorophyll a, total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) concentration had been monitored monthly from January 2007 to December 2011, and the temporal and spatial variation of phytoplankton community and main pollution indicators were analyzed. [ Result] From January 2007 to December 2011, algal diversity in the area increased slightly, and algal diversity in the alongshore region was less than that in the offshore re- gion ; chlorophyll a, TN and TP concentration decreased in the alongshore region, but it was otherwise in the offshore region; chlorophyll a, TN and TP concentration in the alongshore region were higher than those in the offshore region. [ Conclusion] The research could provide theoretical references for the control of cyanophyte bloom and achievement evaluation of each control measure in Dianchi Lake.展开更多

Methods: We give patients individualized dietary guidance, medication nursing, and psychological care according to the characteristics of severe hepatitis and its complications, using com- prehensive medical treatment and combined signs of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Results: Overall, 22 (68.8%) out of 32 cases were improved, 8 (25.0%) cases died, and 2 (6.2%) cases were discharged of free will. In addition, the average hospital stay was 28.75 days. Conclusion: This study indicates that dietary guidance for the patients with severe drug-induced hepatitis varies with the individual. The result embodies the concept of Traditional Chinese Medicine that different treatment for the same disease and different diet for the same disease. Special nursing enriches the connotation of holistic nursing. Both of them are vital for improving the survival rate and promoting rehabilitation of patients with severe drug-induced hepatitis.展开更多

Retro-spective analysis of the clinical data and related factors of 27 patients with liver failure com-plicated by invasive fungal infections was per-formed. These patients were admitted from January 2007 to August 2009 in our department. Among them, Candida albicans accounted for 17cases (54.84%), albicans tropicals for 4 cases (12.90%). Fungal infection in respiratory tract and alimentary tract accounted for 58.06% and 11% respectively. 81.25% of them had fever fluctuating from 37.4oC to 40oC. 81.25% had elevated white blood cell counts .All had the usage of broad-spectrum of antibiotics, whereas some of them used corticosteroids and had invasive medical manipulation for the treatment. Most patients deteriorated after invasive fungal infections. 21 cases accepted with the treatment of antifungal drugs and mortality rate was 63.00%. It was found that the invasive fungal infection possibility of patients with liver failure significantly increased. To prevent the occurrence of invasive fungal infection, promptly early treatment of liver failure, proper use of antibiotics, cautious use or disuse of corticosteroids, reduction of invasive medical manipulation should be well done. Early detection and treatment of fungal infection are vital to decrease in mortality rate.展开更多
