We successfully prepared a series of rare-earth doped borosilicate glasses using the melt-quenching method,and carefully investigated the luminescent properties and the spectral modulation of Tb/Eucodoped borosilicate...We successfully prepared a series of rare-earth doped borosilicate glasses using the melt-quenching method,and carefully investigated the luminescent properties and the spectral modulation of Tb/Eucodoped borosilicate glasses under UV(200-400 nm)excitation.The results show that the prepared samples have the characteristics of broadband response,excellent transparency and tunable luminescence.By adjusting the excitation wavelength,the emissions of Tb^(3+),Eu^(2+)and Eu^(3+)ions are observed,which exhibit yellow-green,blue,red color and multi-color even white emissions,respectively.Moreover,the energy transfer between Tb^(3+)and Eu^(3+)ions in the codoped glasses is confirmed.Tb^(3+)absorbs a large number of solar-blind light,transfers to Eu^(3+)and results in intense visible emission in a wide waveband range.This makes the Tb/Eu co-doped glass a desirable candidate for solar-blind light detections.The photodetection system was built and shows a strong and stable response to the UV light of 210-400 nm.Due to broad detection range,high sensitivity and stability,our results offer strong implications for the development of photodetection device for diverse applications.展开更多

Methods:Fifty-eight patients with either blepharospasm or hemifacial spasm were ...Purpose:To observe the efficacy of the combined treatment of carbamazepine and botulinum toxin A for blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm. Methods:Fifty-eight patients with either blepharospasm or hemifacial spasm were randomly divided into treatment and control groups. In the treatment group, 30 patients were administered with local intramuscular injections of botulinum toxin A and oral carbamazepine 100 mg/time,3 times/day for 60 days. Twenty-eight subjects in the control group under-went local intramuscular injections of botulinum toxin A only. Results:After combined treatment, the complete remission rate was 90%, which was significantly higher than that of the of the control group (67.9% , P<0.05,χ2 =4.733). However, no statistical significance was noted regarding the duration of therapeutic effects between the treatment group (range 14~40 weeks; 19.2 weeks on average) and control group (range 12~36 weeks; 18 weeks on average). Conclusion:The combined therapy of carbamazepine and topical injections of botulinum toxin A had increased efficacy in the treatment of blepharospasm or hemifacial spasm, but had no significant effect in terms of the duration of the therapeutic effect.展开更多
According to the typical variable heat source of solar energy and the unsteady adsorption process of adsorption chiller,the research of cyclic transient characteristics of the solar-powered adsorption cooling system i...According to the typical variable heat source of solar energy and the unsteady adsorption process of adsorption chiller,the research of cyclic transient characteristics of the solar-powered adsorption cooling system is presented in this work.A mathematic model of the whole system including the model of adsorption chiller,which reveals the transient operation process of the solar-powered adsorption cooling system,is developed and verified by experimental data.On the basis of the simulated results,the transient characteristics and the overall performance of the system,not only in the traditional open cycle mode but also in closed cycle mode,are both analyzed theoretically.Furthermore,the influence of parameters matching of components configuration and operation process on the cyclic characteristics of the system,such as the solar collector area,the water tank capacity and the chiller startup temperature,are discussed.The research in this work may play a very important role in optimizing the system cyclic process and improving the system adaptability especially under the condition of variable heat source.展开更多
