The previous studies mainly focused on improving microwave absorbing(MA)performances of MA materials.Even so,these designed MA materials were very difficult to be employed in complex and changing environments owing to their single-functionalities.Herein,a combined Prussian blue analogues derived and catalytical chemical vapor deposition strategy was proposed to produce hierarchical cubic sea urchin-like yolk–shell CoNi@Ndoped carbon(NC)-CoNi@carbon nanotubes(CNTs)mixed-dimensional multicomponent nanocomposites(MCNCs),which were composed of zerodimensional CoNi nanoparticles,three-dimensional NC nanocubes and onedimensional CNTs.Because of good impedance matching and attenuation characteristics,the designed CoNi@NC-CoNi@CNTs mixed-dimensional MCNCs exhibited excellent MA performances,which achieved a minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))of−71.70 dB at 2.78 mm and Radar Cross section value of−53.23 dB m^(2).More importantly,the acquired results demonstrated that CoNi@NC-CoNi@CNTs MCNCs presented excellent photothermal,antimicrobial and anti-corrosion properties owing to their hierarchical cubic sea urchin-like yolk–shell structure,highlighting their potential multifunctional applications.It could be seen that this finding not only presented a generalizable route to produce hierarchical cubic sea urchin-like yolk–shell magnetic NC-CNTs-based mixed-dimensional MCNCs,but also provided an effective strategy to develop multifunctional MCNCs and improve their environmental adaptabilities. 展开更多

Plant roots interact with diverse fungi that are essential for maintaining the productivity and sustainability of pasture ecosystems,but how these root-associated fungi(RAF)differ between forage species and how they respond to nutrient enrichment and fungicide application are not well understood.Here,we constructed an 11-year experiment involving fungicide application(with or without)nested within four levels of experimental nitrogen(N)addition treatments in an alpine pasture,and the RAF communities,root traits,tissue nutrients,and shoot biomass of two dominant forage species(Carex capillifolia and Elymus nutans)were analyzed.The RAF community composition showed striking differences between the plant species and was strongly affected by both N addition level and fungicide applications.Fungicide,but not N application,dramatically reduced the RAF richness of all functional guilds in both plant species,and fungicide also simplified the co-occurrence network of the RAF for C.capillifolia.The RAF community correlated strongly with root traits,whereas their relationships became weakened or even vanished at the level of the individual plant species.The importance of RAF to plant nutrients and productivity varied between plant species,with significant contributions in C.capillifolia but not in E.nutans.This is the first report elucidating the long-term effect of fungicides on RAF in alpine pastures,and our findings emphasize the host-specific responses of RAF community structure and function to anthropogenic disturbances. 展开更多

Association of Co-Exposure to Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons and Metal(loid)s with the Risk of Neural Tube Defects:A Case-Control Study in Northern China

Objective Exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)or metal(loid)s individually has been associated with neural tube defects(NTDs).However,the impacts of PAH and metal(loid)co-exposure and potential interaction effects on NTD risk remain unclear.We conducted a case-control study in China among population with a high prevalence of NTDs to investigate the combined effects of PAH and metal(loid)exposures on the risk of NTD.Methods Cases included 80 women who gave birth to offspring with NTDs,whereas controls were 50 women who delivered infants with no congenital malformations.We analyzed the levels of placental PAHs using gas chromatography and mass spectrometry,PAH-DNA adducts with 32P-post-labeling method,and metal(loid)s with an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer.Unconditional logistic regression was employed to estimate the associations between individual exposures and NTDs.Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)penalized regression models were used to select a subset of exposures,while additive interaction models were used to identify interaction effects.Results In the single-exposure models,we found that eight PAHs,PAH-DNA adducts,and 28 metal(loid)s were associated with NTDs.Pyrene,selenium,molybdenum,cadmium,uranium,and rubidium were selected through LASSO regression and were statistically associated with NTDs in the multiple-exposure models.Women with high levels of pyrene and molybdenum or pyrene and selenium exhibited significantly increased risk of having offspring with NTDs,indicating that these combinations may have synergistic effects on the risk of NTDs.Conclusion Our findings suggest that individual PAHs and metal(loid)s,as well as their interactions,may be associated with the risk of NTDs,which warrants further investigation. 展开更多

The association of copper(Cu)with preterm birth(PTB)and its subtypes,spontaneous preterm birth(SPB)and iatrogenic preterm birth(IPB),are still unclear.In addition,previous studies suggested that serum lipid was associated with both Cu and PTB.Therefore,we explored the association of blood Cu in the first trimester with the risk of PTB and its subtypes,as well as the potential mediating effect of serum lipid using a nested case-control study.The concentrations of Cu in the serum and blood cells,and serum lipids in the first trimester were measured.The concentration of Cu in whole blood was calculated based on hematocrit.Compared to the lowest tertile of Cu concentrations in the first trimester,the highest tertile of Cu significantly increased the risk of SPB with adjusted odds ratios(AORs)of 2.75(95% confidence interval(CI):1.41-5.34)for serum and 3.75(95% CI:1.21-11.60)for whole blood,and significantly increased the risk of IPB with AORs of 3.25(95%CI:1.06-9.94)for blood cells.According to the mediation analysis,the indirect effect of triglyceride(β=0.016,95%CI:0.0002-0.042)was the only significant effect in the association between Cu and SPB,with the mediating proportion of 9.8%(95%CI:0.2%-33.4%).It suggested that a high level of serum Cu may be associated with an increased risk of SPB with a possible mediator of serum triglyceride,and a high level of blood cell Cu may be associated with an increased risk of IPB. 展开更多

In recent years,photocatalytic CO_(2)reduction reaction has been recognized as a crucial approach to solve the greenhouse effect.However,the low concentration of CO_(2)in the atmosphere necessitates a catalyst with excellent CO_(2)enrichment capability.Herein,we designed and synthesized a series of NiO nanosheets featuring oxygen vacancies.Under the condition of pure CO_(2)and photosensitizer[Ru(bpy)_(3)]Cl_(2),the yield of CO reaches 16.8μmol/h with a selectivity of 96%.Through characterization and theoretical calculations,we demonstrate that the presence of oxygen vacancies not only enhances the adsorption capacity of catalysts but also induces lattice distortion in NiO,leading to an increased dipole moment and formation of an internal electric field that facilitates photogenerated carrier separation.Furthermore,we conducted CO_(2)reduction reactions under atmospheric condition and surprisingly observed a changing of selectivity from CO to CO and CH_(4).A series of control experiments showed that[Ru(bpy)3]Cl2 acts as a reduction reaction site due to the presence of O_(2)in the atmosphere.Simultaneously,oxygen promotes water splitting,which results in abundant proton generation and subsequent changes in carbon products. 展开更多

High-performance Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)fibers have garnered significant potential for smart fibers enabled fabrics.Nonetheless,a major challenge hindering their widespread use is the lack of strong interlayer interactions between Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)nanosheets within fibers,which restricts their properties.Herein,a versatile strategy is proposed to construct wet-spun Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)fibers,in which trace amounts of borate form strong interlayer crosslinking between Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)nanosheets to significantly enhance interactions as supported by density functional theory calculations,thereby reducing interlayer spacing,diminishing microscopic voids and promoting orientation of the nanosheets.The resultant Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)fibers exhibit exceptional electrical conductivity of 7781 S cm^(-1)and mechanical properties,including tensile strength of 188.72 MPa and Young's modulus of 52.42 GPa.Notably,employing equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations,finite element analysis,and cross-wire geometry method,it is revealed that such crosslinking also effectively lowers interfacial thermal resistance and ultimately elevates thermal conductivity of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)fibers to 13 W m^(-1)K^(-1),marking the first systematic study on thermal conductivity of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)fibers.The simple and efficient interlayer crosslinking enhancement strategy not only enables the construction of thermal conductivity Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)fibers with high electrical conductivity for smart textiles,but also offers a scalable approach for assembling other nanomaterials into multifunctional fibers. 展开更多

This study aimed to determine the reliability,validity and measurement invariance of scores from the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale-8 in Chinese context.A total of 1114 Chinese adolescents were participants in three phases:N=424 for the initial DERS-8 measure completion;N=586 the DERS-8,General Anxiety Disorder Scale,Depression Scale and Emotion Regulation Scale completion,with an interval of one month.Then an additional 104 adolescents also completed DERS-8,General Anxiety Disorder Scale,Depression Scale and Emotion Regulation Scale.Both exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses confirmed the one-factor model of the scale,and the fitness indicators wereχ^(2)/df=4.05,RMSEA=0.07,CFI=0.98,and TLI=0.97.Each item of the DERS-8 had good discrimination.The internal consistency reliability coefficient,split-half reliability coefficient and test-retest reliability coefficient of the scale scores were 0.90,0.87 and 0.66,respectively.The findings suggest the Chinese version of the DERS-8 is a reliable measure of difficulty of emotion regulation in Chinese adolescents. 展开更多

This study established a method using gas chromatography-electrostatic field Orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry(Orbitrap GC-MS)for the simultaneous determination of 70 organic pollutants across 4 categories:organochlorine pesticides(OCPs),polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs),polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs),and phthalates(PAEs)in infant cereal-based supplementary foods.Techniques integrating cryogenic centrifugation and lipid and protein adsorbent(LPAS)purification were employed.The precise mass numbers of target compounds were determined by Orbitrap GC-MS in full-scan mode(Full MS),which effectively minimized matrix interferences in these foods.Method validation on rice flour samples demonstrated that the 70 compounds exhibited excellent linearity within their respective mass concentration ranges,with correlation coefficients all exceeding 0.995.The detection limits for this method ranged 0.10–1.00μg/kg,while the quantification limits varied 0.3–3.0μg/kg,meeting the established detection requirements.The average spike recovery of the 70 compounds at 3 spiked levels(5,20,and 100μg/kg)ranged 75.3%–119.3%,with relative standard deviations ranging 1.8%–10.8%.Both inter-day and intra-day precision demonstrated relative standard deviation values below 15%.This method was applied to analyze 100 samples of commercial infant cereal-based supplementary food,revealing the presence of PAEs and PAHs in 12.0%of the samples.Notably,no OCPs or PCBs were detected.The detected concentrations of benzo[a]pyrene(Ba P)and dibutyl phthalate(DBP)were(4.2±0.1)and(1.8±0.3)μg/kg,respectively.This method is straightforward,highly sensitive,and suitable for the rapid screening and confirmation of 70 organic pollutants in infant cereal-based supplementary foods. 展开更多

Health risks of rare earth elements exposure:Impact on mitochondrial DNA copy number and micronucleus frequency

Toxic effects in terms of mitochondria and hereditary substances have been characterized in vitro for individual rare earth elements,while,the joint effects of mixed elements exposure in the population remain ambiguous.Based on the Occupational Chromate Exposure Dynamic Cohort of China,this study investigated the relationship between 15 blood rare earth elements(cerium,dysprosium,erbium,europium,gadolinium,holmium,lanthanum,lutetium,neodymium,praseodymium,samarium,terbium,thulium,yttrium,and ytterbium)and mitochondrial DNA copy number(MtDNACN)as well as peripheral blood lymphocyte micronucleus frequency(MNF).The elastic net was used to select elements highly correlated with effect indicators,whose dose-response relationships were further illustrated by restricted cubic splines.Bayesian kernel regressionwas employed to explore the combined effects of elements and the contributions of single element.The results showed that most rare earth elementswere positively correlatedwith effect indicators,with yttrium showing the strongest association(β(95%CI):0.139(0.1089–0.189)for MtDNACN,0.937(0.345–1.684)for MNF).In the mixed exposure model,with the exposure level fixed at the 50th percentile as the reference,the effect estimates on MtDNACN and MNF increased by 0.228 and 0.598 units,respectively,at the 75th percentile.The single effect analysis implied that yttrium,lanthanum and terbium contributed the most to the elevation of MtDNACN,while yttrium posed the highest risk for genetic damage,accordingly,we provided recommendations to prioritize these elements of concern.In addition,we observed a chief mediating effect of MtDNACN on the elevation of MNF caused by lanthanum,whereas further mechanistic exploration is required to confirm this finding. 展开更多

Herpes simplex virus (HSV), the viral agent causing human genital herpes, recurs easily and poses significant harm to patients, while also being associated with atherosclerosis (AS). Currently, no effective therapy or vaccine exists to combat HSV. Previous studies have demonstrated the presence of HSV and its DNA in AS-diseased tissue, yet the precise pathogenesis of HSV involvement remains unclear. To investigate the genetic mechanism of HSV-induced vascular endothelial injury and AS, a type of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (ECV-304 cells) cultured in vitro were infected with herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2). The effect of HSV-2 on differential gene expression in ECV304 cells was investigated by gene microarray technology during the early stages of infection. The results revealed a total of 462 differentially expressed genes, with 318 genes exhibiting up-regulated expression and 144 genes showing down-regulated expression. Furthermore, bioinformatics analysis revealed that all 462 differentially expressed genes were implicated in 237 distinct biological processes. Notably, 79 of these biological processes demonstrated statistically significant differences (P < 0.05), encompassing critical functions such as protein synthesis, ribosome biogenesis and assembly, as well as DNA and mRNA metabolism. Our findings have unveiled the differentially expressed genes of HSV-2 in ECV304 cells during infection, offering crucial insights into the pathogenic mechanisms underlying HSV-2 invasion of endothelial cells and the pathobiology of AS. 展开更多

Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of modified Xiaoyao powder for postpartum depression(PPD)by conducting a systematic review of randomized controlled trials(RCTs).Methods:The Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Databases(CNKI),the Chinese Scientific Journals Database(VIP),Wanfang,Google Scholar,the SinoMed,Embase,Cochrane Library,and PubMed databases were searched from their inception to April 25,2023.The Cochrane Risk of Bias tool was used to assess the quality of the trials.We applied the risk ratio to present dichotomous data and the mean difference to present continuous data.Data with similar characteristics were pooled for meta-analysis and heterogeneity was assessed using I2.Results:This review included 35 trials involving 2848 participants.The quality of the included studies was low(unclear randomization processes and insufficient reporting of blinding).Participants treated with modified Xiaoyao powder plus Western medicine showed lower Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)depression score than those who used Western medicine alone(mean difference=-2.15;95%confidence interval:-2.52 to 1.78;P<.00001),and higher effective rate(relative risk=1.19;95%confidence interval:1.15 to 1.24;P<.00001),When comparing modified Xiaoyao alone with Western medicine,the HAMD depression score remained low,however,the efficacy rate was higher in the modified Xiaoyao group.Regarding adverse events,the modified Xiaoyao group reported weight gain,nausea,and diarrhea,but no severe adverse events were reported.Conclusion:Modified Xiaoyao may help relieve depression in PPD when used alone or in combination with Western medicine,with minor side effects.Therefore,future high-quality,large-sample size RCTs are warranted. 展开更多

Relationships between blood chromium exposure and liver injury:Exploring the mediating role of systemic inflammation in a chromate-exposed population

Hexavalent chromium and its compounds are prevalent pollutants,especially in the work environment,pose a significant risk for multisystem toxicity and cancers.While it is known that chromium accumulation in the liver can cause damage,the dose-response relationship between blood chromium(Cr)and liver injury,as well as the possible potential toxic mechanisms involved,remains poorly understood.To address this,we conducted a follow-up study of 590 visits from 305 participants to investigate the associations of blood Cr with biomarkers for liver injury,including serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),total bilirubin(TBIL),and direct bilirubin(DBIL),and to evaluate the mediating effects of systemic inflammation.Platelet(PLT)and the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR)were utilized as biomarkers of systemic inflammation.In the linear mixed-effects analyses,each 1-unit increase in blood Cr level was associated with estimated effect percentage increases of 0.82%(0.11%,1.53%)in TBIL,1.67%(0.06%,3.28%)in DBIL,0.73%(0.04%,1.43%)in ALT and 2.08%(0.29%,3.87%)in AST,respectively.Furthermore,PLT mediated 10.04%,11.35%,and 10.77%increases in TBIL,DBIL,and ALT levels induced by chromate,respectively.In addition,PLR mediated 8.26%and 15.58%of the association between blood Cr and TBIL or ALT.These findings shed light on the mechanisms underlying blood Cr-induced liver injury,which is partly due to worsening systemic inflammation. 展开更多

Understanding and characterizing rough contact and wavy surfaces are essential for developing effective strategies to mitigate wear,optimize lubrication,and enhance the overall performance and durability of mechanical systems.The sliding friction contact problem between a thermoelectric(TE)half-plane and a rigid solid with a periodic wavy surface is the focus of this investigation.To simplify the problem,we utilize mixed boundary conditions,leading to a set of singular integral equations(SIEs)with the Hilbert kernels.The analytical solutions for the energy flux and electric current density are obtained by the variable transform method in the context of the electric and temperature field.The contact problem for the elastic field is transformed into the second-kind SIE and solved by the Jacobi polynomials.Notably,the smoothness of the wavy contact surface ensures that there are no singularities in the surface contact stress,and ensures that it remains free at the contact edge.Based on the plane strain theory of elasticity,the analysis primarily examines the correlation between the applied load and the effective contact area.The distribution of the normal stress on the surface with or without TE loads is discussed in detail for various friction coefficients.Furthermore,the obtained results indicate that the in-plane stress decreases behind the trailing edge,while it increases ahead of the trailing edge when subjected to TE loads. 展开更多

The control of undesired electromagnetic radiation in S-and C-band spectra requires novel microwave absorbing materials(MAMs)having high microwave attenuation capability together with optimal impedance matching.CNTs are conformally coated onto the surface of one-dimensional FeCo-based magnetic microchains via electrostatic self-assembly,and then the magnetic inclusions are collectively oriented in matrices by applying an external magnetic field.The proper incorporation of CNTs with magnetic microchains demonstrates a feasible pathway for effectively absorbing microwaves in the S and C band.MAMs consisting of oriented microchains have anisotropic complex permittivity,of which the real part ranges from 6.1 to 30.4 at 2 GHz.When the electric field is parallel to microchains,the 5-mm-thick MAM has an effective absorbing bandwidth(EAB)in the range of 2.3 to 2.9 GHz,and reduces the radar cross section to be lower than-15.9 dB m^(2) from the vertical to the glancing incidence.When the magnetic field is parallel to microchains,the MAM adsorbs C-band microwaves with an EAB of 1.5 GHz,and achieves maximal reflection loss of-46.4 dB.The collective orientation of shape-anisotropic magnetic materials,in addition to the composition and microstructure,is a new variable for the design of effective MAMs. 展开更多

社会经济发展和居民食物消费对土地需求之间的矛盾,已成为中国可持续发展亟待解决的关键问题,也是当今社会关注的热点问题之一。然而,目前对城市尺度食物消费的土地需求研究仍存在不足。本文利用CPI指数法,估算了北京市城乡居民1980—2... 社会经济发展和居民食物消费对土地需求之间的矛盾,已成为中国可持续发展亟待解决的关键问题,也是当今社会关注的热点问题之一。然而,目前对城市尺度食物消费的土地需求研究仍存在不足。本文利用CPI指数法,估算了北京市城乡居民1980—2016年的食物消费情况,揭示了居民食物消费结构改变对土地需求的演变特征,并探讨了未来不同消费模式下的土地需求情况,以期为实现居民的可持续消费提供参考,从而更好地解决社会经济发展和居民食物消费对土地需求之间的矛盾。结果表明:北京市食物消费结构已经由“粮食主导”的消费模式逐渐变为多元化的消费模式,且城乡之间存在明显差异;1980—2016年,北京市居民人均食物消费的土地需求量呈“U”型的变化特征,其中粮食消费的土地需求不断减少,而蔬果和动物性食物的土地需求不断增加;在2016年,北京市居民人均食物消费的土地需求量达到了1227.04 m^2/人,使得北京市居民消费的土地需求总量达到了266.62万hm^2,其中动物性食物消费占70.36%,城市居民食物消费占95%以上;在2016年,北京市居民食物消费的土地需求压力达到了14。健康合理的食物消费结构不仅有利于身体健康,也能够缓解食物消费对土地资源的压力;在健康饮食情景下,北京市每年居民食物消费最多可节约95.20~153.32万hm^2的土地面积,相当于北京市现有耕地和果园面积的5~8倍。因此,通过合理的饮食结构调整对解决社会经济发展和居民食物消费对土地需求之间的矛盾具有重要的意义。 展开更多

The rapid development of aerospace weapons and equipment,wireless base stations and 5G communication technologies has put forward newer and higher requirements for the comprehensive performances of polymer-based electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding composites.However,most of currently prepared polymer-based EMI shielding composites are still difficult to combine high performance and multi-functionality.In response to this,based on the research works of relevant researchers as well as our research group,three possible directions to break through the above bottlenecks are proposed,including construction of efficient conductive networks,optimization of multi-interfaces for lightweight and multifunction compatibility design.The future development trends in three directions are prospected,and it is hoped to provide certain theoretical basis and technical guidance for the preparation,research and development of polymer-based EMI shielding composites. 展开更多
