Processing impact on volatile compounds profile in higholeic and normal peanut oil

With the improvement of living quality, high-oleic peanuts have drawn people’s attention. Increasing oleic acid content of peanut oil should be desired for improving shelf life and potential health benefits. The flavor is among the most important quality attributes for commercial acceptance of peanuts products. The volatile components of high-oleic pea-nuts oil and normal-oleic lines were compared in this research. First, volatile components of peanut oils were analyzed and identified by solid-phase microextraction/gas chroma- tography/mass spectrometry (SPME/GC/MS). Then principal components analysis (PCA) was used to identify principal volatile components in peanut oils of different cultivars fo卜 lowing three different processing methods, including roasting, boiling and roasting, and roasting by microwave-assisted. The results showed that there were obvious differences of the volatile components between high-oleic and normal peanut oils. Among different pro-cessing method of peanuts, there was no clear separation on volatile components observed between roasting and boiling and roasting by microwave-assisted. Moreover, the same genotype had the similar flavor characteristic. Different processing methods had no signifi-cant effect on volatile components in peanut oils. 展开更多

覆膜对西南紫土区黄瓜早春栽培土壤水热效应及产量的影响

探索覆膜方式对膜下土壤水热环境及黄瓜产量和效益的影响,解析覆膜促进作物增产机制,为早春黄瓜栽培技术增产潜力提供理论依据。2020和2021年设置大田试验,试验材料为地方黄瓜品种‘寸金子’,以裸地栽培为对照(CK),设置当地常用的单层黑... 探索覆膜方式对膜下土壤水热环境及黄瓜产量和效益的影响,解析覆膜促进作物增产机制,为早春黄瓜栽培技术增产潜力提供理论依据。2020和2021年设置大田试验,试验材料为地方黄瓜品种‘寸金子’,以裸地栽培为对照(CK),设置当地常用的单层黑膜(B)、单层白膜(W)、小拱棚(A)和优化双膜覆盖处理黑膜+小拱棚(BA)、白膜+小拱棚(WA)5种覆膜方式,测定黄瓜生育前期土壤温度、土壤含水率和作物形态、产量等指标,分析覆膜对土壤水分、温度与黄瓜产量、经济效益的影响。结果表明:覆膜能显著提高0~25 cm土层的平均土壤温度和有效积温,且双膜覆盖处理的增温效果明显优于单膜;与CK相比,双膜覆盖处理WA、BA的耕层土壤温度提高3.18~4.58℃,有效积温增加55.78%~64.94%。随着覆膜时间的推移,覆膜处理均能明显提高土壤含水率,BA处理的保水效果最佳。双膜覆盖处理能更好地促进早春黄瓜的生长,比CK增产197.95%~232.85%,比单膜覆盖的最高产量增产27.02%~41.90%,经济效益高达16.72万~22.11万元/hm^(2)。由此可见,双膜覆盖处理可以通过改善西南紫土区的土壤水热条件,促进早春黄瓜旺盛生长,提高产量,增加经济效益,是适宜西南紫土区黄瓜早春栽培的高产高效模式。 展开更多

Nitrogen-doped single-walled carbon nanohorns(N-SWCNHs)can serve as an effective carrier for platinum(Pt)catalysts,which has the potential to improve the electrocatalytic activity of oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and the operation life of the catalyst.In this work,dahlia-like SWCNHs with N contents ranging from 2.1at%to 4.3at%are controllably synthesized via arc discharge and applied as a carrier of Pt nanoparticles(NPs),denoted as Pt/N-SWCNHs.Pt/N-SWCNHs-2:1(graphite and melamine with the mass ratio of 2:1)exhibits excellent electrocatalytic activity(onset potential=0.95 V).The half-wave potential of Pt/N-SWCNHs-2:1 is only reduced by 2 mV after 3000 cyclic voltammetry cycles.This can be attributed to the enhanced dispersion of Pt NPs and the strong electronic interaction between the N-SWCNHs and Pt,facilitated by the optimal nitrogen doping level.The results of this work offer important perspectives on the design and enhancement of Pt-based electrocatalysts for ORR applications,highlighting the critical role of the nitrogen doping level in balancing the electrocatalytic activity and long-term stability. 展开更多

Metal-carbon dioxide(CO_(2))batteries hold great promise for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and are regarded as one of the most promising energy storage techniques due to their efficiency advantages in CO_(2)recovery and conversion.Moreover,rechargeable nonaqueous metal-CO_(2)batteries have attracted much attention due to their high theoretical energy density.However,the stability issues of the electrode-electrolyte interfaces of nonaqueous metal-CO_(2)(lithium(Li)/sodium(Na)/potassium(K)-CO_(2))batteries have been troubling its development,and a large number of related research in the field of electrolytes have conducted in recent years.This review retraces the short but rapid research history of nonaqueous metal-CO_(2)batteries with a detailed electrochemical mechanism analysis.Then it focuses on the basic characteristics and design principles of electrolytes,summarizes the latest achievements of various types of electrolytes in a timely manner and deeply analyzes the construction strategies of stable electrode-electrolyte interfaces for metal-CO_(2)batteries.Finally,the key issues related to electrolytes and interface engineering are fully discussed and several potential directions for future research are proposed.This review enriches a comprehensive understanding of electrolytes and interface engineering toward the practical applications of next-generation metal-CO_(2)batteries. 展开更多

Bacterial wilt(BW)caused by Ralstonia solanacearum is a wide-spread and serious disease in peanut.To date,this soilborne disease could only be effectively controlled by planting resistant peanut cultivars.However,the relatively lower yield potential of the available BW-resistant peanut cultivars is a key reason restricting productivity in most epidemic regions naturally infested with the pathogen.Even small pods or seeds and low number per plant has been regarded as the key factor for the low yield potential both in BW-resistant peanut germplasm lines and available released cultivars,whether the resistance is closely linked with key yield components remains unclear.In this study,the relationship between pod weight and BW resistance was analyzed by using a recombinant inbred lines(RIL)population derived from a crossing combination between a high yielding cultivar Xuhua 13 and a BW-resistant cultivar Zhonghua 6.From the experiments,it was found that the BW resistance was not significantly correlated with pod number per plant(PNP),hundred pod weight(HPW)and pod weight per plant(PWP)in the RIL population.Based on linkage analysis,the quantitative trait locus(QTL)s related to PNP were identified on A06,A07,A08 and B03.The QTLs for HPW were detected on A05 and A07,and the QTLs for PWP were on A06,A07 and B03.However,the QTL for BW resistance identified on B02.These results indicated that the BW resistance and the pod number per plant as well as pod weight were inherited independently.Two recombined lines(QT0944 and QT1028)with high level BW resistance and large pods(hundred pod weight over 185g)were identified from the RILs,and they possessed the favored alleles of identified QTLs from both parents,which could be used in peanut breeding for high yield and high level disease resistance. 展开更多

Periodic metal nanoarrays serving as cavities can support directional-tunable amplified spontaneous emission that goes beyond the diffraction limit due to the hybrid states of surface plasmons and Bloch surface waves.Most of these modes'interactions remain within the weak coupling regime,yet strong coupling is also anticipated to occur.In this work,we present an intriguing case of amplified spontaneous emission(ASE),amplified by the splitting upper polariton mode within a strong coupling system,stemming from a square lattice of plasmonic cone lattices(PCLs).The PCLs are fabricated using an anodized aluminum oxide membrane(AAO),which facilitates strong coupling between surface plasmons and Bloch surface wave modes,with the maximum Rabi splitting observed at 0.258 eV for the sample with an aspect ratio of 0.33.A 13.5-fold increase in amplified spontaneous emission is recorded when the emission from Nile Red coincides with this flat energy branch of upper polariton,which exhibits a high photon density of states.Reduced group velocity can prolong photon lifetime and boost the probability of light-matter interaction.The observed ASE phenomenon in this strong coupling plasmonic system widens the scope for applications in nanolasing and polariton lasing. 展开更多

Upcycling Photovoltaic Silicon Waste Into Cost-Effectiveness Si/C Anode Materials

While silicon/carbon(Si/C)is considered one of the most promising anode materials for the next generation of high-energy lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),the industrialization of Si/C anodes is hampered by high-cost and low product yield.Herein,a high-yield strategy is developed in which photovoltaic waste silicon is converted to cost-effective graphitic Si/C composites(G-Si@C)for LIBs.The introduction of a binder improves the dispersion and compatibility of silicon and graphite,enhances particle sphericity,and significantly reduces the loss rate of the spray prilling process(from about 25%to 5%).As an LIB anode,the fabricated G-Si@C composites exhibit a capacity of 605 mAh g^(-1) after 1200 cycles.The cost of manufacturing Si/C anode materials has been reduced to approximately$7.47 kg^(-1),which is close to that of commercial graphite anode materials($5.0 kg^(-1)),and significantly lower than commercial Si/C materials(ca.$20.74 kg^(-1)).Moreover,the G-Si@C material provides approximately 81.0 Ah/$of capacity,which exceeds the current best commercial graphite anodes(70.0 Ah/$)and Si/C anodes(48.2 Ah/$).The successful implementation of this pathway will significantly promote the industrialization of high-energydensity Si/C anode materials. 展开更多

Vitamin E is an essential micronutrient that is abundant in peanut seeds.However,the absence of a rapid and reliable method for determining its content has impeded advancements in peanut quality improvement.In this study,we developed an efficient ultra-performance liquid chromatography variable wavelength detector(UPLCvwd)method for quantifying vitamin E content in peanut seeds,capable of detecting four tocopherols and four tocotrienols.Compared to traditional methods,this approach is simpler,more efficient,and highly accurate.By comparing two sample preparation techniques,it was found that slicing better reflects the true vitamin E content than grinding,as it minimizes losses caused by mechanical pressure.The method demonstrated robust stability and accuracy in both repeatability tests and spiked recovery tests,showing no significant differences compared to the national standard method.The study revealed that the cotyledons of peanuts are the primary storage site for vitamin E,being rich inγ-andα-tocopherols,which together account for over 90% of the total vitamin E content.In contrast,the vitamin E content in the seed coat is considerably lower.Therefore,the optimized detection method minimizes seed coat interference during sample preparation,ensuring the accuracy of the results.In summary,the UPLC-vwd method developed in this study is a promising tool for determining vitamin E content and supports the improvement of peanut quality. 展开更多

Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)are emerging as a promising alternative for large-scale energy storage,particularly in grid applications.Within the array of potential cathode materials,Fe/Mn-based layered oxides are notable for their advantageous theoretical specific capacity,economic viability,and environmental sustainability.Nevertheless,the practical application of Fe/Mn-based layered oxides is constrained by their suboptimal cycle performance and rate capability during actual charging and discharging.Ion doping is an effective approach for addressing the aforementioned issues.In this context,we have successfully developed a novel K^(+) and Mg^(2+) codoped P2-Na_(0.7)Fe_(0.5)Mn_(0.5)O_(2) cathode to address these challenges.By doping with 0.05 K^(+) and 0.2 Mg^(2+),the cathode demonstrated excellent cycling stability,retaining 95% of its capacity after 50 cycles at 0.2C,whereas the undoped material retained only 59.7%.Even within a wider voltage range,the co-doped cathode retained 88% of its capacity after 100 cycles at 1C.This work integrated Mg^(2+) to activate oxygen redox reactions in Fe/Mn-based layered cathodes,thereby promoting a reversible hybrid redox process involving both anions and cations.Building on the Mg doping,larger K^(+) ions were introduced into the edge-sharing Na^(+) sites,enhancing the material's cyclic stability and expanding the interplanar distance.The significant improvement of Na^(+) diffusion coefficient by K^(+)/Mg^(2+) co-doping has been further confirmed via the galvanostatic intermittent titration technique(GITT).The study emphasizes the importance of co-doping with different coordination environments in future material design,aiming to achieve high operating voltage and energy density. 展开更多

Peanut is a globally significant oil crop and economic resource,notable for its kernel containing over 50%oil content.White testa peanuts are highly valued for their superior nutritional profile,minimal pigmentation,and superior oil clarity.Identification of genes controlling white testa color is crucial for advancing breeding programs and understanding the genetic mechanisms involved.A genetic mapping study was performed in peanut to identify genes controlling white testa color,a trait associated with desirable end-use quality traits in this oilseed crop.In an F_(2)population generated from a cross of a white-testa with a pink-testa cultivar,two recessive quantitative-trait loci controlling white testa were identified and finemapped to A02 and B02 chromosomes.Two homologous genes,Arahy.MP3D3D and Arahy.26781N,encoding bHLH transcriptional factors,were identified as candidates for the two loci.Reduced expression of these two genes likely suppresses anthocyanin biosynthesis. 展开更多

Potassium-ion batteries(KIBs)as one of the most promising alternatives to lithium-ion batteries have been highly valued in recent years.However,progress in KIBs is largely restricted by the sluggish development in anode materials.Therefore,it is imperative to systematically outline and evaluate the recent research advances in the field of anode materials for KIBs toward promoting the development of high-performance anode materials for KIBs.In this review,the recent achievements in anode materials for KIBs are summarized.The electrochemical properties(ie.charge storage mechanism,capacity,rate performance,and cycling stability)of these reported anode materials,as well as their advantages/disadvantages,are discerned and analyzed,enabling high-performance KIBs to meet the requirements for practical applications.Finally,technological developments,scientific challenges,and future research opportunities of anode materials for KIBs are briefly reviewed. 展开更多

The inheritance of pod-and seed-number traits(PSNT) in peanut(Arachis hypogaea L.) is poorly understood. In the present study, a recombinant inbred line(RIL) population of 188 lines was used to map quantitative trait loci(QTL) for number of seeds per pod(NSP),number of pods per plant(NPP), and numbers of one-, two-, and three-seeded pods per plant(N1 PP, N2 PP, and N3 PP) in four environments. A total of 28 consensus QTL and 14 single QTL were identified, including 11 major and stable QTL. Four major and stable QTL including qN3 PPA5.2, q N3 PPA5.4, qN3 PPA5.5, and qN3 PPA5.7 each explained 12.3%–33.0% of phenotype variation. By use of another integrated linkage map for the A5 group(hereafter referred to as INT A5 group), QTL for PSNT were located in seven intervals of 0.73–9.68 Mb in length on chromosome A05, and candidate genes underlying N3 PP were suggested. These findings shed light on the genetic basis of PSNT. Major QTL for N3 PP could be used as candidates for further positional cloning. 展开更多

Rechargeable batteries,especially lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),have made rapid development since the 21st century,greatly facilitating people's lives[1−6].Based on considerations of cost and existing problems(such as safety issues due to LIBs stacking strategy and unsatisfactory performance for various applications),researchers have explored alternative technologies to LIBs to meet the needs for wide application scenarios[5].Among them,multi-ion storage devices such as dual-ion batteries(DIBs)and metal-ion hybrid capacitors(MIHCs)are considered promising alternative energy storage devices of LIBs due to their unique multi-ion storage mechanism.In a multi-ion storage device,cations and anions carry charges back and forth between the electrolyte and the electrodes at the same time,unlike the rocking chair mechanism of LIBs[7].Generally,the anodes of DIBs and MIHCs work in a similar mechanism to LIBs,storing charge through redox reactions.The main difference among them is the mechanism of the cathodes during charging and discharging[8].In DIBs,the battery-type cathode stores anions through the Faraday reaction. 展开更多
