Synthesis and Electrochemical Properties of Transparent Nanostructured BaTiO<sub>3</sub>Film Electrodes

Transparent nanostructured BaTiO3 film electrodes were synthesized on conductive substrates from BaTiO3 nanocrystals forming at low temperature. Electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical methods were employed to investigate its properties of band energetics and the trap state at different pH values. The flat band edges greatly depended on the pH value of electrolyte, and the flat band edges were -0.70, -0.92 and -1.20 V vs saturated Ag/AgCl at the pH value of 3.0, 6.8 and 13.0, respectively. The results showed that trap state densities also highly depended on pH. The total trap state densities were 3.73 × 1015, 4.02 × 1015 and 6.48 × 1016 cm-2 at pH value of 3.0, 6.8 and 13.0 respectively with maximum located at -0.36 V, -0.50 V and -0.80 V. The results obtained from CVs were in good agreement with that obtained from the measurements of time resolved currents. The size of the peak potentials in the cyclic voltammograms experiments was increased dramatically with the pH value increasing, indicating that traps were surface-related. 展开更多

Ferroptosis is a nonapoptotic form of cell death characterized by iron dependence and lipid peroxidation.Ferroptosis is involved in a range of pathological processes,such as cancer.Many studies have confirmed that ferroptosis plays an essential role in inhibiting cancer cell proliferation.In addition,a series of small-molecule compounds have been developed,including erastin,RSL3,and FIN56,which can be used as ferroptosis inducers.The combination of ferroptosis inducers with anticancer drugs can produce a significant synergistic effect in cancer treatment,and patients treated with these combinations exhibit a better prognosis than patients receiving traditional therapy.Therefore,a thorough understanding of the roles of ferroptosis in cancer is of great significance for the treatment of cancer.This review mainly elaborates the molecular biological characteristics and mechanism of ferroptosis,summarizes the function of ferroptosis in cancer development and treatment,illustrates the application of ferroptosis in patient’s prognosis prediction and drug discovery,and discusses the prospects of targeting ferroptosis. 展开更多

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has become a global issue and a severe threat to public health.However, to date, no approved therapeutic drugs have been developed. Dietary interventions with naturalproducts have shown promise in preventing and treating NAFLD. Sulforaphane (SFN) is a phytocompoundwith antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and previous research has demonstrated that SFN canameliorate hepatic lipid accumulation and inflammation. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying thesebeneficial effects remain unclear. In this study, we confirmed the protective effects of SFN on excessive lipidaccumulation and inflammatory injury in a high-fat, high-fructose diet-induced non-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH) mouse model. We found that SFN attenuates the inflammatory injury in a macrophage cell line andthe liver of NASH mice, owing to the promotion of M1-type macrophage polarization toward the M2-type andthe regulation of inflammatory mediators. Further analysis demonstrated that this SFN-induced macrophageM2-type polarization occurs in a Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4)-dependent manner. In summary, we uncovereda new mechanism of action underlying SFN activity and provide evidence that dietary intervention with SFNmight be protective against NASH. 展开更多

This paper mainly analyzes the application data of patents concerning Hevea brasiliensis in the world and China from the perspectives of time,research field,and the geographical distribution of applicants. It also interprets the patents for invention in China from time,research field,and types of applicants. Based on the study,it shows that although the patent applications fluctuate,the general trend is rising. And the patents are mostly concentrated in plant protection,and agricultural biotechnology. The Chinese applicants of patents for invention largely work in the research institutes,and most of these patents focus on the field of plant protection,agricultural biotechnology,and agro-processing.However,the foreign applicants mainly work in companies,and most of these patents only focus on plant protection. These findings will provide a reference for formulating development policies about natural rubber industry in China. 展开更多

Artificial intelligence(AI)is a general term that refers to the use of a machine to imitate intelligent behavior for performing complex tasks with minimal human intervention,such as machine learning;this technology is revolutionizing and reshaping medicine.AI has considerable potential to perfect health-care systems in areas such as diagnostics,risk analysis,health information administration,lifestyle supervision,and virtual health assistance.In terms of immunotherapy,AI has been applied to the prediction of immunotherapy responses based on immune signatures,medical imaging and histological analysis.These features could also be highly useful in the management of cancer immunotherapy given their ever-increasing performance in improving diagnostic accuracy,optimizing treatment planning,predicting outcomes of care and reducing human resource costs.In this review,we present the details of AI and the current progression and state of the art in employing AI for cancer immunotherapy.Furthermore,we discuss the challenges,opportunities and corresponding strategies in applying the technology for widespread clinical deployment.Finally,we summarize the impact of AI on cancer immunotherapy and provide our perspectives about underlying applications of AI in the future. 展开更多

The mixing performance of a multi-bladed baffle inserted into a traditional Gallay tote blender is explored by graphic processing unit-based discrete element method software. The mixing patterns and rates are investigated for a binary mixture, represented by two different colors, under several loading profiles. The baffle effectively enhances the convective mixing both in the axial and radial directions, because of the disturbance it causes to the initial flowing layer and solid-body zone, compared with a blender without a baffle. The axial mixing rate is affected by the gap between the baffle and the wall on the left and right sides, and an optimal blade length corresponds to the maximum mixing rate. However, the radial mixing rate increases with the blade length almost monotonically. 展开更多

Several types of modifications have been proven to participate in the metabolism and processing of different RNA types,including non-coding RNAs(ncRNAs).N-6-methyladenosine(m6A)is a dynamic and reversible RNA modification that is closely involved in the ncRNA homeostasis,and serves as a crucial regulator for multiple cancer-associated signaling pathways.The ncRNAs usually regulate the epigenetic modification,mRNA transcription and other biological processes,displaying enormous roles in human cancers.In this review,we summarized the significant implications of m6A-ncRNA interaction in various types of cancers.In particular,the interplay between m6A and ncRNAs in cancer pathogenesis and therapeutic resistance are being widely recognized.We also discussed the relevance of m6A-ncRNA interaction in immune regulation,followed by the interference on cancer immunotherapeutic procedures.In addition,we briefly highlighted the computation tools that could identify the accurate features of m6A methylome among ncRNAs.In summary,this review would pave the way for a better understanding of the biological functions of m6A-ncRNA crosstalk in cancer research and treatment. 展开更多
