Objective:To investigate factors influencing vaccine hesitancy and its effects on SARS-CoV-2 infection in multiple myeloma(MM)patients during the Omicron BA.4/5 subvariant outbreak.Methods:This cross-sectional study w...Objective:To investigate factors influencing vaccine hesitancy and its effects on SARS-CoV-2 infection in multiple myeloma(MM)patients during the Omicron BA.4/5 subvariant outbreak.Methods:This cross-sectional study was conducted in China'Mainland from December 26,2022,to April 20,2023.An expert-developed anonymous online questionnaire was distributed via WeChat mini-program to several groups of 500 MM patients,each comprising of 500 patients.The questionnaire covered demographic characteristics,MM medical attributes,COVID-19 vaccine status,and clinical manifestations of COVID-19.Data were analyzed to assess the impact of vaccination on COVID-19 infection rates and the disease severity among MM patients.Results:Among 508 valid responses from 30 provinces,only 34.1%(n=173)of MM patients reported receiving COVID-19 vaccination,and the proportions were lower among patients who had undergone autologous stem cell transplantation(20.2%vs.48.4%,P<0.001).Vaccine hesitancy was primarily attributed to physician recommendations(52.0%),conflicts with MM treatment(37.8%),and concerns about MM progression(31.3%).Hospitalization due to severe SARS-CoV-2 infections was significantly reduced in the vaccinated group(4.8%vs.12.3%,P=0.038).Conclusions:The lower infection rate in MM patients may be attributed to stringent quarantine measures and self-imposed social restrictions.While vaccination did not directly correlate with fewer SARS-CoV-2 infections,it did afford protection to vulnerable populations.Clinicians are encouraged to recommend vaccines to MM patients to mitigate severe infections and associated mortality during recurrent COVID-19 waves.展开更多
The Kitaev honeycomb model has received significant attention due to its exactly solvable quantum spin liquid ground states and fractionalized excitations.Layered cobalt oxides have been considered as a promising plat...The Kitaev honeycomb model has received significant attention due to its exactly solvable quantum spin liquid ground states and fractionalized excitations.Layered cobalt oxides have been considered as a promising platform for realizing this model.However,in contrast to the conventional wisdom regarding the single-q zigzag magnetic order inferred from previous studies of the candidate materials Na_(2)IrO_(3) and α-RuCl_(3),recent experiments on two representative honeycomb cobalt oxides,hexagonal Na_(2)Co_(2)TeO_(6) and monoclinic Na_(3)Co_(2)SbO_(6),have uncovered evidence for more complex multi-q zigzag order variants.This review surveys the experimental strategies used to distinguish between single-and multi-q orders,along with the crystallographic symmetries of cobalt oxides,in comparison with previously studied systems.The general formation mechanism of multi-q order is also briefly discussed.The goal is to provide a solid ground for examining the relevance of multi-q order in honeycomb cobalt oxides and discuss its implications for the microscopic model of these intriguing quantum magnets.展开更多

The novel coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)infection has become a heavy burden on global health.Although the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)may adversely affect multiple organs and systems of infected patients,to the best of...The novel coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)infection has become a heavy burden on global health.Although the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)may adversely affect multiple organs and systems of infected patients,to the best of our knowledge,there is little investigation of the SARS-CoV-2’s impact on bone marrow.Our clinical and cytological findings in this case of severe COVID-19 infection provide novel insights into the pathogenesis of SARS-CoV-2 infection in the hematopoietic system.We recommend that physicians consider SARS-CoV-2 infection’s effect on bone marrow in patients who are slow to recover and suggest that a better understanding of the bone marrow morphology in COVID-19-infected patients is needed.展开更多
