Background:Autoimmune diseases pose a multifaceted challenge in the realm of medical science, warranting in-novative approaches for their management.Resveratrol,a naturally ccurring compound found in various dietary sources, has captured attention for its potential immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties.Under-standing the interplay between autoimmune diseases and resveratrol is crucial for exploring novel therapeutic avenues. Objective:This review aims to explore the intricate relationship between autoimmune diseases and resveratrol. It seeks to provide insights into the mechanistic underpinnings of autoimmune diseases, emphasizing the necessity for innovative therapeutic interventions.Additionally,it aims to comprehensively discuss the pharmacological properties of resveratrol and its potential applications in managing autoimmune diseases. Methods:A structured review approach was employed to organize the content into distinct sections.Extensive literature searches were conducted to gather information on autoimmune diseases, the pharmacology of resvera-trol,and its effects on immune regulation, inflammation, and oxidative stress.Experimental and clinical evidence regarding the efficacy of resveratrol in managing specific autoimmune diseases was critically evaluated. Results:Resveratrol demonstrates immunomodulatory,anti-inflammatory,and antioxidant effects, which are rel-evant to autoimmune disease management. These properties impact immune cell regulation,pro-inflammatory cytokines, inflammatory mediators, and oxidative stress, potentially ameliorating autoimmune pathogenesis.Clinical studies present promising evidence for the efficacy of resveratrol in conditions such as rheumatoid arthri-tis,systemic lupus erythematosus, multiple sclerosis, and inflammatory bowel disease, albeit further research is necessary to determine its safety and optimal dosages. Conclusion:The review underscores the promising potential of resveratrol in autoimmune disease management.By targeting key pathways implicated in autoimmunity, resveratrol holds promise as an adjunctive or standalone therapy.Future research endeavors should concentrate on addressing lingering questions, refining dosages and delivery systems, investigating combination therapies, and facilitating the translation of findings into clinical practice.Resveratrol emerges as a valuable avenue for advancing therapeutic strategies in autoimmune diseases. 展开更多

The protein,N-myc downstream-regulated gene 2(NDRG2),a tumor suppressor,is significantly decreased or absent in many types of cancer. There is a significant negative correlation between the levels of NDRG2 and the development and progression of cancer tumor recurrence and tumor invasion,in different cancers. In contrast, the in vitro and in vivo overexpression of the NDRG2 protein decreases the proliferation, growth, adhesion and migration of many types of cancer cells. The in vitro overexpression of NDRG2 increases the efficacy of certain anticancer drugs in specific types of cancer cells. We hypothesize that the delivery of the mRNA of the NDRG2 protein, encapsulated by lipid nanoparticles, could represent a potential treatment of metastatic and drug-resistant cancers. This would be accomplished using a self-amplifying mRNA that encodes the NDRG2 protein and an RNA-dependent-RNA polymerase, obtained from an in vitrotranscribed(IVT)mRNA.The IVT mRNA would be encapsulated in a lipid nanoformulation. The efficacy of the nanoformulation would be determined in cultured cancer cells and if the results are positive, nude mice transplanted with either drug-resistant or metastatic drug-resistant cancer cells, would be treated with the nanoformulation and monitored for efficacy and adverse effects. If the appropriate preclinical studies indicate this formulation is efficacious and safe,it is possible it could be evaluated in clinical trials. 展开更多
