The concept of acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF)has gained increasing awareness during the last decade.It considers liver cirrhosis as a systemic disease where precipitating events lead to a sudden deterioration,decompensation and extrahepatic organ failures.Disease severity is determined by the number and types of organ failures and patients with ACLF have a distinct and worse prognosis than patients with acute decompensation but not fulfilling ACLF criteria(1-3). 展开更多
