The purpose of this study was to assess the differences in clinical and sonographic features of papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC) between cervical lymph node metastatic(CLNM) and nonmetastatic groups.Clinical data ...The purpose of this study was to assess the differences in clinical and sonographic features of papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC) between cervical lymph node metastatic(CLNM) and nonmetastatic groups.Clinical data of PTC patients(414 patients with 624 malignant nodules) who underwent a preoperative ultrasonography and surgery between June 2010 and March 2015 at Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University were retrospectively analyzed.Clinical factors,preoperative ultrasound features and the final pathological findings were obtained.The differences in the sonographic features of PTC between the CLNM group and the non-CLNM group were analyzed.There were 187 CLNM and 227 non-CLNM patients.The median age at the diagnosis of this cohort was 45.4 years old(ranging from 18 to 77 years).Ultrasonographic parameters that were significantly associated with CLNM [OR=2.569(1.502,4.393),P〈0.001)] were as follows:the mulifocality of the nodules,size over 2 cm,the presence of microcalcifications,the distance ratio(DR) pattern showing the contact of the nodules with the thyroid capsule,and the extracapsular spread of the nodules.No significant differences in age,gender,thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH) levels and other ultrasonography parameters were found between the CLNM and the non-CLNM groups.Therefore,our results suggest that a larger size,microcalcifications,mulifocality,and the DR pattern showing the contact of the nodules with the thyroid capsule and extracapsular spread are significantly more indicative of CLNM in PTC.展开更多
Obesity is one of the most serious global health problems,with an incidence that increases yearly and coincides with the development of cancer.Adipose tissue macrophages(ATMs)are particularly important in this context...Obesity is one of the most serious global health problems,with an incidence that increases yearly and coincides with the development of cancer.Adipose tissue macrophages(ATMs)are particularly important in this context and contribute to linking obesity-related inflammation and tumor progression.However,the functions of ATMs on the progression of obesity-associated cancer remain unclear.In this review,we describe the origins,phenotypes,and functions of ATMs.Subsequently,we summarize the potential mechanisms on the reprogramming of ATMs in the obesity-associated microenvironment,including the direct exchange of dysfunctional metabolites,inordinate cytokines and other signaling mediators,transfer of extracellular vesicle cargo,and variations in the gut microbiota and its metabolites.A better understanding of the properties and functions of ATMs under conditions of obesity will lead to the development of new therapeutic interventions for obesity-related cancer.展开更多
The protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B(PTP1B)is an important regulator of metabolism.The relationship between PTP1B and tumors is quite complex.The purpose of this study is to explore the expression pattern and role of...The protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B(PTP1B)is an important regulator of metabolism.The relationship between PTP1B and tumors is quite complex.The purpose of this study is to explore the expression pattern and role of PTP1B in breast cancer.The expression of PTP1B was detected in 67 samples of breast cancer tissue by Western blot.Cell growth assay,Transwell migration assay,and Scratch motility assay were used to examine the proliferation and migration of MCF-7 with and without PTP1B.The total levels and phosphorylated levels of signal transduction and activator of transcription 3(STAT3)and the expression of C-C motif chemokine ligand 5(CCL5)were also examined by Western blot.PTP1B was overexpressed in over 70%of breast cancer tissues,correlating with patients with estrogen receptor(ER)-negative,progesterone receptor(PR)-negative,and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-positive tumors.The data also showed that both tumor size and lymph node metastasis were significantly higher in patients with a higher level of PTP1B.The proliferation and migration of MCF-7 cells were found to be inhibited after knocking down the gene of PTP1B.Our data also showed that PTP1B could up-regulate the dephosphorylated level of STAT3,which could increase the expression of CCL5.These phenomena indicated that PTP1B may play a crucial role in the development of breast cancer.展开更多

Methods:164 patients Breast cancer patients, Sc group (docetaxel + CNP), Dd group (docetaxel), Sc group and Dd group were selected to observe shoulder joint function, docetaxel concentration in Sc group and Dd group after 12 h, 24 h, 36 h and 48 h injection of chemotherapy, apoptotic index of metastatic lymph nodes, apoptosis rate of lymph node cells, Sc group and Dd group were observed. The occurrence of adverse reactions. Results:The concentration of paclitaxel in the lymph nodes of the Sc group was significantly higher than that of the Dd group at 12h, 24h, 36, 48h. The concentration of paclitaxel was the highest in the group of 24h in the Sc group, and the lowest in the 48h group. 0.05);The AI index of the chemotherapy group was significantly higher than that of the Dd group at 12h, 24h, 36, 48h in the Sc group (P<0.05). The score of the shoulder joint function score in the Sc group was increased compared with the Dd group (P<0.05). Methods:128 patients receiving endoscopic thyroidectomy in our hospital between November 2015 and November 2016 were selected and randomly divided into two groups (n=64), observation group of patients received the inflation fluid containing ropivacaine hydrochloride as the inflating medium during endoscopic thyroidectomy and control group of patients received saline inflation fluid as the inflating medium during endoscopic thyroidectomy. Serum was collected before and after operation respectively to determine the levels of stress response-related hormones and pain-related mediators. Results:Serum adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), cortisol (Cor), norepinephrine (NE), epinephrine (E), renin (PRA), angiotensin-2 (ANG-2), aldosterone (ALD), dynorphin (DYN),β-endorphin (β-EP), nitric oxide (NO) and substance P (SP) levels of both groups after operation were significantly higher than those before operation (P<0.05), and serum ACTH, Cor, NE, E, PRA, ANG-2, ALD, DYN,β-EP, NO and SP levels of observation group after operation were significantly lower than those of control group (P<0.05). Conclusions:The application of inflation fluid containing ropivacaine hydrochloride in endoscopic thyroidectomy can reduce the postoperative stress response and suppress pain mediator secretion.展开更多
