The corrosion behavior of Ti–6Al–2Zr–1Mo–1V(TA15)alloy fabricated through selective laser melting(SLM)technology and traditional wrought technology in hydrochloric acid solutions was investigated using electrochem...The corrosion behavior of Ti–6Al–2Zr–1Mo–1V(TA15)alloy fabricated through selective laser melting(SLM)technology and traditional wrought technology in hydrochloric acid solutions was investigated using electrochemical testing and surface characterizations,including electron backscattered diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses.The results showed that both types of TA15 alloy underwent spontaneous passivation reactions in HCl solution,and with the increase in HCl concentration,the surface of SLM-TA15 sample exhibited larger and deeper pits.In comparison to SLM-TA15 sample,the pits on the wrought-TA15 sample were shallower and the surface was more uniform.Analysis of the passive current density,breakdown potential,and electrochemical impedance revealed that the corrosion resistance of both alloys decreased as the concentration of HCl increased,and SLM sample exhibited poorer corrosion resistance compared with the wrought sample.Analysis of Mott–Schottky test curves and calculation of passive film thickness indicated that the passive film of wrought-TA15 sample was superior to that of SLM-TA15 sample.展开更多
Electrochemical impedance(EIS)and thin electrical resistance(ER)sensors were invented for atmospheric corrosion measurement of copper(Cu)during cyclic wetting−drying/high−low temperature tests and field exposure tests...Electrochemical impedance(EIS)and thin electrical resistance(ER)sensors were invented for atmospheric corrosion measurement of copper(Cu)during cyclic wetting−drying/high−low temperature tests and field exposure tests.Three-month field exposure results showed that average corrosion rate of Cu measured by ER sensor was well in accordance with that by weight loss method.During cyclic wetting−drying test,EIS was proven to reflect sensitively time of wetting and drying on the surface of sensor.Although corrosion rate obtained from EIS had a similar tendency to that obtained from ER sensors,the former was more dependent on environmental humidity than the latter.When relative humidity was low than 60%,corrosion rate of Cu measured by EIS was much lower than that by weight loss method,mainly attributing to the fact that impedance sensor failed to detect corrosion current of interlaced Cu electrodes due to the breakdown of conductive passage composed of absorbed thin liquid film under low humidity condition.Promisingly,ER sensor was proven to be more suitable for atmospheric corrosion monitoring than electrochemical techniques because it could sensitively monitor thickness loss of Cu foil according to the Ohmic law,no matter how dry or wet the sensor surface is.展开更多
Transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)acts as a tumor promoter in advanced prostate cancer(PCa).We speculated that microRNAs(miRNAs)that are inhibited by TGF-β1 might exert anti-tumor effects.To assess this,we ident...Transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)acts as a tumor promoter in advanced prostate cancer(PCa).We speculated that microRNAs(miRNAs)that are inhibited by TGF-β1 might exert anti-tumor effects.To assess this,we identified several miRNAs downregulated by TGF-β1 in PCa cell lines and selected miR-3691-3p for detailed analysis as a candidate anti-oncogene miRNA.miR-3691-3p was expressed at significantly lower levels in human PCa tissue compared with paired benign prostatic hyperplasia tissue,and its expression level correlated inversely with aggressive clinical pathological features.Overexpression of miR-3691-3p in PCa cell lines inhibited proliferation,migration,and invasion,and promoted apoptosis.The miR-3691-3p target genes E2F transcription factor 3(E2F3)and PR domain containing 1,with ZNF domain(PRDM1)were upregulated in miR-3691-3p-overexpressing PCa cells,and silencing of E2F3 or PRDM1 suppressed PCa cell proliferation,migration,and invasion.Treatment of mice bearing PCa xenografts with a miR-3691-3p agomir inhibited tumor growth and promoted tumor cell apoptosis.Consistent with the negative regulation of E2F3 and PRDM1 by miR-3691-3p,both proteins were overexpressed in clinical PCa specimens compared with noncancerous prostate tissue.Our results indicate that TGF-β1-regulated miR-3691-3p acts as an anti-oncogene in PCa by downregulating E2F3 and PRDM1.These results provide novel insights into the mechanisms by which TGF-β1 contributes to the progression of PCa.展开更多
The protective self-assembled monolayers(SAMs)were fabricated on the surface of low-temperature sintered nano-Ag paste electrode in the sodium mercaptobenzothiazole(MBT-Na)solution at room temperature.Electrochemical ...The protective self-assembled monolayers(SAMs)were fabricated on the surface of low-temperature sintered nano-Ag paste electrode in the sodium mercaptobenzothiazole(MBT-Na)solution at room temperature.Electrochemical migration(ECM)behavior was investigated using waterdrop test,andthemeantimeto failure was employed as a parameter to evaluate ECM probability.Some electrochemical meth-ods,including electrochemical impedance,potentiodynamic polarization curves,localized electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and scanning Kelvin probe,have been carried out to clarify the formation process of SAMs.Results indi-cated that growth of tree-like silver dendrites after ECM tests resulted in the short circuit between twin electrodes.The SAMs-coated electrode can reduce the rate of anodic disso-lution and thus retard the growth of dendrite.The ECM inhibition efflciency increased with the concentration of MBT-Na rising.And the optimum self-assembled time was 60 min.A higher applied bias resultedin a shorter failuretime for ECM.And relevant mechanisms have been proposed.展开更多
