Methods: After the elderly patients with psychosis and diabetes were admitted to hospital, they were randomly drawn into the control group and the observation group. The control group (metformin) and the observation group (metformin plus glimepiride) were treated. The blood sugar level, mental state, social function and adverse reactions of the patients were investigated. Results: Compared with before treatment, FPG, 2hPG and HbAcl indexes were P > 0.05;After treatment, FPG, 2hPG and HbAcl in observation group were lower than those in control group (P 0.05). Before treatment, the scores of BPRS and SDSS between groups were compared, P > 0.05;After treatment, BPRS and SDSS scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P 0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P > 0.05). Before treatment, both groups of patients suffered from anxiety and depression, and SAS and SDS scores were compared, P > 0.05. After treatment, the scores of SAS and SDS in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P 0.05). Conclusion: The effect of glimepiride+metformin in the treatment of senile psychosis complicated with diabetes is remarkable, with high safety, and the combined treatment scheme is feasible in clinical application.展开更多
