The equations for two-dimensional flow of an upper convected Maxwell (UCM) fluid in a rotating frame are modeled. The resulting equations are first simplified by a boundary layer approach and then solved by a homotopy analysis method (HAM). Convergence of series solution is discussed through residual error curves. The results of the influence of viscoelastic and rotation parameters are plotted and discussed. 展开更多

An incompressible second grade fluid impinges on the wall either orthogonally or obliquely. The resulting nonlinear problems have been solved by a homotopy analysis method (HAM). Convergence of the series solutions is checked. Such solutions are compared with the numerical solutions presented in a study lint. J. Non-Linear Mech. 43 (2008) 941]. Excellent agreement is noted between the numerical and series solutions. 展开更多

We present an analysis of an electrically conducting viscous fluid over a porous plate in a rotating system. The plate starts impulsively from rest relative to the rotating fluid moving with uniform acceleration in its own plane.Exact solutions are developed for both large and small times. In addition, skin friction is computed. The variations of magnetic field and porosity are displayed and discussed. It is noted that steady state behavior is not achieved even under the simultaneous effects of suction, magnetic field and rotation. 展开更多

Magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)mixed convection stagnation-point flow and heat transfer of power-law fluids towards a stretching surface is investigated. The homotopy analysis method(HAM)is used in finding the series solution for a nonlinear problem.Closed form solutions for velocity and temperature fields are presented in the limiting cases.Graphical results are shown. It is found that velocity and temperature are decreasing functions of power law index.Numerical computations for shear stress coefficient and local Nusselt number are reported. The present results are also compared with the existing numerical solution in a limiting sense. 展开更多
