METHODS: LADM was prepared by pH gradient-driven method. Normal saline, FADM (2 mg/kg), ADM+BL (2 mg/kg), and LADM (2 mg/kg) were injected via the hepatic artery in rats bearing liver W256 carcinosarcoma, which were divided into four groups randomly. The therapeutic effects were evaluated in terms of survival time, tumor enlargement ratio, and tumor necrosis degree. The difference was determined with ANOVA and Dunnett test and log rank test. RESULTS: Compared to FADM or ADM + BL, LADM produced a more significant tumor inhibition (tumor volume ratio: 1.243±0.523 vs 1.883±0.708, 1.847±0.661, P 〈 0.01), and more extensive tumor necrosis. The increased life span was prolonged significantly in rats receiving LADM compared with FADM or ADM+BL (231.48 vs 74.66, 94.70) (P 〈 0.05). CONCLUSION: The anticancer efficacies of adriamycin on hepatoma can be strongly improved by liposomal encapsulation through hepatic arterial administration.展开更多

The interaction between mi R-548a-5p and its downstream target, Tg737, was evaluated by a dual-luciferase reporter assay and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Tg737 was then up-regulated in HCC cells to evaluate its effect on mi R-548a-5p regulation. Hep G2 cells stably overexpressing mi R-548a-5p or mi R-control were also subcutaneously inoculated into nude mice to evaluate the effect of mi R-548a-5p up-regulation on in vivo tumor growth. As the final step, the effect of mi R-548a-5p on the apoptosis induced by cisplatin was evaluated by flow cytometry.RESULTS: Down-regulation of Tg737, which is a target gene of mi R-548a-5p, accelerated HCC cell proliferation, and mi R-548a-5p promoted HCC cell proliferation in vitro and in vivo. Like the downregulation of Tg737, overexpression of mi R-548a-5p in HCC cell lines promoted cell proliferation, increased colony forming ability and hampered cell apoptosis. In addition, mi R-548a-5p overexpression increased HCC cell growth in vivo. Mi R-548a-5p downregulated Tg737 expression through direct contact with its 3' untranslated region(UTR), and mi R-548a-5p expression was negatively correlated with Tg737 levels in HCC specimens. Restoring Tg737(without the 3'UTR) significantly hampered mi R-548a-5p induced cell proliferation, and rescued the mi R-548a-5p induced cell proliferation inhibition and apoptosis induced by cisplatin.CONCLUSION: Mi R-548a-5p negatively regulates the tumor inhibitor gene Tg737 and promotes tumorigenesis in vitro and in vivo, indicating its potential as a novel therapeutic target for HCC.展开更多

Oral myiasis occurs when soft tissues of theoral cavity are invaded by the larvae of flies. It is not a common disease for thereason that the oral cavity is not easily reachable for the fly to lay eggs. But it cancause pain, infection, uncomfortable feeling when the worms move, tissuedestruction and/or even life-threatening hemorrhages.CASE SUMMARY We reported a case of oral myiasis after cerebral infarction in a 78-year-old malepatient from southern China (Guangdong Zhanjiang). As a result of cerebralinfarction, he suffered from right hemiplegia, mobility and mental decline forabout 3 mo. He had difficulty swallowing and was fed via a feeding tube. Hemostly engaged in mouth breathing and had poor oral and dental hygiene. Morethan 20 live larvae were collected from the patient’s oral cavity, which werelocalized in the maxillary gingiva, the mandibular gingiva and the tongue. Thepatient recovered after the routine oral cleaning, removal of maggots, debridement and anti-infection treatment.CONCLUSION Early diagnosis and treatment of this infestation are essential due to thebothersome symptoms, such as inflammation, intense anxiety over the larvaemovement, possible serious complications, etc. Clinical staff should be familiarwith this infestation, and this disease should be considered, especially inphysically and mentally disabled patients or those at significant risk for infection.Necessary measures, including good sanitation, personal and environmentalhygiene and special care should be adopted so as to prevent this disease.展开更多

Here, we report a simple and available novel approach for the oxygen-assisted preparation of ZnS:Mn particles by solid-state reaction at atmospheric pressure without the formation of the corresponding oxides. The existence of O2 has a positive impact on the formation of S vacancies in wurtzite-phase ZnS, leading to the introduction of Mn2+ ion luminescent centers and shallow donor levels, which can improve the electron-hole recombination rate. The O2 ratio and Mn2+ ion doping concentration have significant effects on the luminous efficienc)5 which is optimal at 1%-20% and 1 at.%-2 at.% respectively. In addition, a device based on the piezo-photonic effect with excellent pressure sensitivity of 0.032 MPa-1 was fabricated, which can map the two-dimensional pressure distribution ranging from 2.2 to 40.6 MPa in situ. This device can be applied to real-time pressure mapping, smart sensor networks, high-level security systems, human-machine interfaces, and artificial skins.展开更多

文摘Food allergy is a growing health issue worldwide and the demand for sensitive, robust and high-throughput analytical methods is rising. In recent years, mass spectrometry-based methods have been established for multiple food allergen detection. In the present study,a novel method was developed for the simultaneous detection of almond, cashew, peanut, and walnut allergens in bakery foods using liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry.Proteins unique to these four ingredients were extracted, followed by trypsin digestion, quadrupole time-of-flight(Q-TOF)mass spectrometry and bioinformatics analysis. The raw data were processed by de-novo sequencing module plus PEAKS DB(database search)module of the PEAKS software to screen peptides specific to each nut species. The thermal stability and uniqueness of these candidate peptides were further verified using triple quadrupole mass spectrometry(QQQ-MS)in multiple reaction monitoring(MRM)mode. Each nut species was represented by four peptides, all of which were validated for label-free quantification(LFQ).Calibration curves were constructed with good linearity and correlation coefficient(r 2)greater than 0.99.The limits of detection(LODs)were determined to range from 0.11 to 0.31 mg/kg,and were compared with the reference doses proposed by Voluntary Incidental Trace Allergen Labelling(VITAL).The recoveries of the developed method in incurred bakery food matrices ranged from 72.5%to 92.1%with relative standard deviations(RSD)of<5.2%.The detection of undeclared allergens in commercial bakery food samples confirmed the presence of these allergens. In conclusion, this method provides insight into the qualitative and quantitative detection of trace levels of nut allergens in bakery foods.

文摘To the Editor:In the last decade, neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC)has become a well-accepted treatment option for breast cancer, although few detailed description of NAC in China has yet been reported.[1]A previous study found that among patients with clinically node-negative(cN0)breast cancer,97.7%(432/442)with breast pathologic complete response(bpCR)had ypN0(absence of metastases in the axillary lymph nodes);and 71.6%(882/1232)without bpCR achieved ypN0(P<0.001).As for human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)positive or triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)that achieved bpCR.
文摘Neoadjuvant therapy can yield clinical benefits in earlystage breast cancer with indications. The indications, treatment regimens, and efficacy of neoadjuvant therapy have been investigated, which have contributed valuable clinical evidence.[1,2]The Chinese Society of Breast Surgery convened a panel of breast disease experts to review and discuss the literature on neoadjuvant therapy for breast cancer and evaluate relevant evidence by referring to the Grading of Recommendations,Assessment,Development, and Evaluations(GRADE)system.Taking into account China’s specific circumstances, the society and participating experts developed the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Neoadjuvant Therapy for Early-stage Breast Cancer(Version 2022)to serve as a reference for breast surgeons in China.

文摘Mechanoluminescent materials that convert mechanical stimuli to light emission have attracted extensive attention for potential applications in human-machine interactions. This device can be applied to real-time pressure mapping, smart sensor networks, high-level security systems, human-machine interfaces, and artificial skins.
文摘Breast cancer is the most common malignancy among women in China.Approximately 304,000 new cases of breast cancer were diagnosed during 2015 in China, which ranked first in cancer diagnosis and accounted for 17.1%of all new cancers among women.[1,2]Both the US Preventive Services Task Force(USPSTF)[3]and National Comprehensive Cancer Network(NCCN)clinical practice guidelines[4]have made recommendations regarding risk assessment,to identify women with increased risk for breast cancer,in whom risk-based cancer screening and/or risk-reducing medication use should be provided so as to lower the individual breast cancer risk.
