Aiming for a better ...Knowledge Discovery in Databases is gaining attention and raising new hopes for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) researchers. It is a useful tool in understanding and deciphering TCM theories. Aiming for a better understanding of Chinese herbal property theory (CHPT), this paper performed an improved association rule learning to analyze semistructured text in the book entitled Shennong's Classic of Materia Medica. The text was firstly annotated and transformed to well-structured multidimensional data. Subsequently, an Apriori algorithm was employed for producing association rules after the sensitivity analysis of parameters. From the confirmed 120 resulting rules that described the intrinsic relationships between herbal property (qi, flavor and their combinations) and herbal efficacy, two novel fundamental principles underlying CHPT were acquired and further elucidated: (1) the many-to-one mapping of herbal efficacy to herbal property; (2) the nonrandom overlap between the related efficacy of qi and flavor. This work provided an innovative knowledge about CHPT, which would be helpful for its modern research.展开更多
Entangled Porous Titanium Alloy Metal Rubber(EPTA-MR)was used as a nucleus pulposus material in the design of non-fusion intervertebral disc prosthesis for the first time.A novel artificial lumbar intervertebral disc ...Entangled Porous Titanium Alloy Metal Rubber(EPTA-MR)was used as a nucleus pulposus material in the design of non-fusion intervertebral disc prosthesis for the first time.A novel artificial lumbar intervertebral disc prosthesis was designed by reconstructing the lumbar model with reverse engineering technology,and the biomechanical behavior of the prosthesis was simulated under varied working conditions.The nucleus pulposus size was determined by the actual size of human prosthesis.EPTA-MR samples with different densities were prepared by medical titanium alloy wire experimental studies were conducted on static stiffness,damping energy consumption,and fatigue life.The results indicated that the static stiffness of EPTA-MR could reach approximately 1500 N mm and its loss factor remained higher than 0.2,and the variation range was relatively small,with excellent vibration damping capacity and bearing capacity.Among them,the overall performance of EPTA-MR with a density of 2.5 g em 3 was closer to that of the physiologic intervertebral disc.A macro experiment of five million fatigue vibration tests combined with microstructure observation exhibited a wear rate of only 0.9396 g-MC with no noticeable change in the internal micro-morphology.Therefore,the EPTA-MR has a broad application prospect as the nucleus pulposus material of artificial intervertebral disc prosthesis.展开更多
AIM: To compare the prevalence of H pylori infection, peptic ulcer, cytomegalovirus (CNV) infection and Candida esophagitis in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)- positive and HIV-negative patients, and evaluate ...AIM: To compare the prevalence of H pylori infection, peptic ulcer, cytomegalovirus (CNV) infection and Candida esophagitis in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)- positive and HIV-negative patients, and evaluate the impact of CD4 lymphocyte on H pylori and opportunistic infections. METHODS: A total of 151 patients (122 HIV-positive and 29 HIV-negative) with gastrointestinal symptoms were examined by upper endoscopy and biopsy. Samples were assessed to determine the prevalence of Hpylori infection, CMV, candida esophagitis and histologic chronic gastritis. RESULTS: The prevalence of Hpylori was less common in HIV-positive patients (22.1%) than in HIV-negative controls (44.8%; P 〈 0.05), and the prevalence of H pylori displayed a direct correlation with CD4 count stratification in HIV-positive patients. In comparison with HIV-negative group, HIV-positive patients had a lower incidence of peptic ulcer (20.7% vs 4.1%; P 〈 0.01), but a higher prevalence of chronic atrophy gastritis (6.9% vs 24.6%; P 〈 0.05), Candida esophagitis and CMV infection. Unlike HIV-negative group, H pylori infection had a close relationship to chronic active gastritis (P 〈 0.05). In HIV-positive patients, chronic active gastritis was not significantly different between those with Hpylori infection and those without. CONCLUSION: The lower prevalence of H pylori infection and peptic ulcer in HIV-positive patients with gastrointestinal symptoms suggests a different mechanism of peptic ulcerogenesis and a different role of H pylori infection in chronic active gastritis and peptic ulcer. The pathogen of chronic active gastritis in HIV-positive patients may be different from the general population that is closely related to Hpylori infection.展开更多
Objective:Large volume radiological text data have been accumulated since the incorporation of electronic health record(EHR)systems in clinical practice.We aimed to determine whether deep natural language processing a...Objective:Large volume radiological text data have been accumulated since the incorporation of electronic health record(EHR)systems in clinical practice.We aimed to determine whether deep natural language processing algorithms could aid radiologists in improving thyroid cancer diagnosis.Methods:Sonographic EHR data were obtained from the EHR database.Pathological reports were used as the gold standard for diagnosing thyroid cancer.We developed thyroid cancer diagnosis based on natural language processing(THCaDxNLP)to interpret unstructured sonographic text reports for thyroid cancer diagnosis.We used the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUROC)as the primary metric to measure the performance of the THCaDxNLP.We compared the performance of thyroid ultrasound radiologists aided with THCaDxNLP vs.those without THCaDxNLP using 5 independent test sets.Results:We obtained a total number of 788,129 sonographic radiological reports.The number of thyroid sonographic data points was 132,277,18,400 of which were thyroid cancer patients.Among the 5 test sets,the numbers of patients per set were 439,186,82,343,and 171.THCaDxNLP achieved high performance in identifying thyroid cancer patients(the AUROC ranged from 0.857–0.932).Thyroid ultrasound radiologists aided with THCaDxNLP achieved significantly higher performances than those without THCaDxNLP in terms of accuracy(93.8%vs.87.2%;one-sided t-test,adjusted P=0.003),precision(92.5%vs.86.0%;P=0.018),and F1 metric(94.2%vs.86.4%;P=0.007).Conclusions:THCaDxNLP achieved a high AUROC for the identification of thyroid cancer,and improved the accuracy,sensitivity,and precision of thyroid ultrasound radiologists.This warrants further investigation of THCaDxNLP in prospective clinical trials.展开更多

In the p...The electron impact excitation(EIE) cross sections of an atom/ion in the whole energy region are needed in many research fields, such as astrophysics studies, inertial confinement fusion researches and so on. In the present work, an effective method to calculate the EIE cross sections of an atom/ion in the whole energy region is presented. We use the EIE cross sections of helium as an illustration example. The optical forbidden 1^(1)S–n^(1)S(n = 2–4) and optical allowed 1^(1)S–n^(1)P(n = 2–4) excitation cross sections are calculated in the whole energy region using the scheme that combines the partial wave R-matrix method and the first Born approximation. The calculated cross sections are in good agreement with the available experimental measurements. Based on these accurate cross sections of our calculation, we find that the ratios between the accurate cross sections and Born cross sections are nearly the same for different excitation final states in the same channel. According to this interesting property, a universal correction function is proposed and given to calculate the accurate EIE cross sections with the same computational efforts of the widely used Born cross sections,which should be very useful in the related application fields. Objective:To investigate the expression levels of interferon regulatory factor 3(IRF-3)and miRNA146a in peripheral blood of children with infectious mononucleosis and the effect of miRNA146a on IRF-3 expression.Method...Objective:To investigate the expression levels of interferon regulatory factor 3(IRF-3)and miRNA146a in peripheral blood of children with infectious mononucleosis and the effect of miRNA146a on IRF-3 expression.Methods:In an in vivo experiment,the expression levels of IRF-3 and miRNA146a in peripheral blood of 45 children with infectious mononucleosis and 34 healthy controls were detected by real-time PCR.The in vitro experiment was performed to examine the effect of miRNA146a on IRF-3 expression levels by transfecting miRNA146a mimics and their inhibitors.Results:There was significant difference in IRF-3 gene expression in peripheral blood between healthy controls and children with infectious mononucleosis(t=30.340,P<0.001)while miRNA146a expression was significantly increased compared with healthy controls(t=34.659,P<0.001),and there was a negative correlation between the two groups(r=-0.960,P<0.05).In HeLa cells,transfection with miRNA146a mimics significantly decreased the expression of IRF-3 mRNA(t=8.270,P<0.001)and protein(t=46.170,P<0.001),while miRNA146a inhibitor significantly up-regulated the expression of IRF-3 mRNA(t=8.582,P<0.001)and protein(t=25.891,P<0.001).Conclusion:miRNA146a may be involved in the down-regulation of IRF-3 gene expression by Epstein-Barr virus in children with infectious mononucleosis and then involved in the pathogenesis of infectious mononucleosis.展开更多

Although skin grafts and nasolabial flaps are reliable, they can cause secondary post-surgical deformities.Methods: In this report, we describe an alar spiral advancement flap with a subcutaneous pedicle combined with postoperative nasal stent therapy for the repair of alar defects.Results: All cases showed slight asymmetry immediately after surgery, but at a median follow-up of 24 months, no cases of dissatisfaction with the nose shape or abnormal respiratory function were found. Almost all incision scars subsided within 12 months. In addition, all flaps that were dissected and rotated during the surgeries healed, and no signs of necrosis or development of vascular compromise were observed.Conclusion: Our preliminary experience suggests that the alar spiral flap followed by nasal stent therapy provides stable recovery of appearance and function for alar defects during follow-ups and shows promise for future therapies.展开更多

文摘The scattering matrices of e+N^(+)with J^(π)=1.5^(+)in discrete energy regions are calculated using the eigenchannel R-matrix method.We obtain good parameters of multichannel quantum defect theory(MQDT)that vary smoothly as the function of the energy resulting from the analytical continuation property of the scattering matrices.By employing the MQDT,all discrete energy levels for N could be calculated accurately without missing anyone.The MQDT parameters(i.e.,scattering matrices)can be calibrated with the available precise spectroscopy values.In this work,the optical oscillator strengths for the transition between the ground state and Rydberg series are obtained,which provide rich data for the diagnostic analysis of plasma.

文摘Objective:To investigate the expression levels of interferon regulatory factor 3(IRF-3)and miRNA146a in peripheral blood of children with infectious mononucleosis and the effect of miRNA146a on IRF-3 expression.Methods:In an in vivo experiment,the expression levels of IRF-3 and miRNA146a in peripheral blood of 45 children with infectious mononucleosis and 34 healthy controls were detected by real-time PCR.The in vitro experiment was performed to examine the effect of miRNA146a on IRF-3 expression levels by transfecting miRNA146a mimics and their inhibitors.Results:There was significant difference in IRF-3 gene expression in peripheral blood between healthy controls and children with infectious mononucleosis(t=30.340,P<0.001)while miRNA146a expression was significantly increased compared with healthy controls(t=34.659,P<0.001),and there was a negative correlation between the two groups(r=-0.960,P<0.05).In HeLa cells,transfection with miRNA146a mimics significantly decreased the expression of IRF-3 mRNA(t=8.270,P<0.001)and protein(t=46.170,P<0.001),while miRNA146a inhibitor significantly up-regulated the expression of IRF-3 mRNA(t=8.582,P<0.001)and protein(t=25.891,P<0.001).Conclusion:miRNA146a may be involved in the down-regulation of IRF-3 gene expression by Epstein-Barr virus in children with infectious mononucleosis and then involved in the pathogenesis of infectious mononucleosis.

文摘Background: The repair of alar defects is challenging in clinics. Although skin grafts and nasolabial flaps are reliable, they can cause secondary post-surgical deformities.Methods: In this report, we describe an alar spiral advancement flap with a subcutaneous pedicle combined with postoperative nasal stent therapy for the repair of alar defects.Results: All cases showed slight asymmetry immediately after surgery, but at a median follow-up of 24 months, no cases of dissatisfaction with the nose shape or abnormal respiratory function were found. Almost all incision scars subsided within 12 months. In addition, all flaps that were dissected and rotated during the surgeries healed, and no signs of necrosis or development of vascular compromise were observed.Conclusion: Our preliminary experience suggests that the alar spiral flap followed by nasal stent therapy provides stable recovery of appearance and function for alar defects during follow-ups and shows promise for future therapies.
文摘Libraries are places in which all kinds of academic information are gathered, providing people with a broad platform for accessing a variety of knowledge. In addition to the knowledge in daily work, study and life, some important historical materials are collected in libraries, and all of them are of important significance for studies of social development from multiple aspects. Influenced by information technology, the forms of library resources are no longer limited to books and documents, and digital resources have changed into part of the storage of library information. With the purpose of solving the problems in the current management of non-book resources, it is necessary for management personnel of libraries to actively change management model and make more scientific and sound resource management programs. Based on this point, an analysis is made by the author in this paper.
