Wheat is an important cereal crop used to produce diverse and popular food worldwide because of its high grain yield(GY)and grain protein content(GPC).However,GY and GPC are usually negatively correlated.We previously...Wheat is an important cereal crop used to produce diverse and popular food worldwide because of its high grain yield(GY)and grain protein content(GPC).However,GY and GPC are usually negatively correlated.We previously reported that favorable alleles of the wheat domestication gene Q can synchronously increase GY and GPC,but the underlying mechanisms remain largely unknown.In this study,we investigate the regulatory network involving Q associated with GY and GPC in young grains through DNA affinity purification sequencing and transcriptome sequencing analyses,electrophoretic mobility shift and dualluciferase assays,and transgenic approaches.Three Q-binding motifs,namely TTAAGG,AAACA[A/T]A,and GTAC[T/G]A,are identified.Notably,genes related to photosynthesis or carbon and nitrogen metabolism are enriched and regulated by Q.Moreover,Q is revealed to bind directly to its own gene and the glutamine synthetase gene GSr-4D to increase expression,thereby influencing nitrogen assimilation during the grain filling stage and increasing GPC.Considered together,our findings provide molecular evidence of the positive regulatory effects of Q on wheat GY and GPC.展开更多
BACKGROUND Pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma(PGL)are a rare group of neuroendocrine neoplasms with characteristic genetic diversity and catecholamine secretion patterns.They arise from non-neuronal and non-epithelial...BACKGROUND Pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma(PGL)are a rare group of neuroendocrine neoplasms with characteristic genetic diversity and catecholamine secretion patterns.They arise from non-neuronal and non-epithelial neuroendocrine cells of the paraganglia,and have the highest rate of heritability among all tumors.CASE SUMMARY A 76-year-old woman presented with the complaint of dizziness that had persisted for one week.She had a 30-year history of hypertension.Despite longterm use of antihypertensive drugs,her blood pressure was not effectively controlled.A tumor was subsequently found in the head of the pancreas by computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging and she was initially diagnosed with an aneurysm.On December 21,2021,she underwent resection of the retroperitoneal tumor and pancreatic repair surgery.However,after postoperative pathological analysis and immunohistochemistry,the diagnosis was revised to PGL.After two years and eight months of follow-up,the tumor did not recur or metastasize,and her blood pressure returned to normal without taking antihypertensive drugs.CONCLUSION The possibility of PGL should be considered when a tumor is identified and patients have catecholamine secretion related symptoms that are difficult to control with medications.展开更多
BACKGROUND In randomized controlled trials(RCTs),the placebo arm has often been ignored as the attention tends to be focused on the treatment arm.We undertook a meta-analysis based on the data from the placebo arm in ...BACKGROUND In randomized controlled trials(RCTs),the placebo arm has often been ignored as the attention tends to be focused on the treatment arm.We undertook a meta-analysis based on the data from the placebo arm in RCTs of hepatocellular carci-noma(HCC),the response rates and survival status,and adverse events(AEs)were summarized and evaluated.AIM To systematically evaluate the response rates,survival status and AEs in the placebo arms of RCTs for HCC.METHODS A systematic search was performed on PubMed,Ovid MEDLINE,Embase and Cochrane Library to identify relevant trials evaluating the efficacy of drugs for the treatment of HCC,published until December 31,2023.Statistical analysis was performed using R statistical software(version 4.3.2).RESULTS A total of 18 RCTs,involving 2390 patients,met the criteria for inclusion in the meta-analysis.The pooled overall disease control rate and objective response rate in the placebo group were 38%[95%confidence interval(CI):33%-42%]and 1%(95%CI:1%-2%),respectively.Overall survival and progression-free survival in the placebo group were 7.9 months(95%CI:7.6-8.31 months)and 1.9 months(95%CI:1.6-2.1 months),respectively.The incidence of grade 3 or 4 AEs was 37%(95%CI:30%-43%).Additionally,the incidence of interruptions or dose reductions due to AEs was 20%(95%CI:13%-27%),while the incidence of treatment discontinuation due to AEs was 9%(95%CI:6%-12%).CONCLUSION Over one-third of advanced HCC patients exhibit therapy-free disease control,with placebo-arm AEs observed.These findings guide single-arm trials design and enhance patient acceptance of anticancer therapies.展开更多

Abundant food supply is crucial for the survival of long-distance migratory birds.The continued population decline of the Spoon-billed Sandpiper(Calidris pygmeae),a critically endangered shorebird,is primarily attribu...Abundant food supply is crucial for the survival of long-distance migratory birds.The continued population decline of the Spoon-billed Sandpiper(Calidris pygmeae),a critically endangered shorebird,is primarily attributed to habitat loss and degradation.However,significant gaps remain in research on their diet and foraging habitat selection,limiting effective conservation and restoration efforts.In this study,we investigated the composition of macrobenthic communities,analyzing habitat and prey selection at the main foraging area of SBS in Tiaozini,Jiangsu Province of eastern China—their most critical staging site during southward migration.Our findings revealed 25 species of macrobenthos in foraging areas,with mobile epibenthos comprising the largest group by biomass,accounting for 73%,and having higher density and biomass nearshore.Observations of foraging Spoon-billed Sandpiper individuals indicated that shallow water habitats were their preferred foraging environments,where mobile epibenthos,which thrive in these habitats after the tide recedes,made up 81%of their biomass intake.We propose that shallow water habitats in intertidal mudflats serve as essential refuges for mobile epibenthos after tidal retreat,thereby providing Spoon-billed Sandpipers with access to high-quality food resources.Habitat protection efforts should prioritize habitats harboring extensive microhabitats with shallow water,especially the nearshore area,and further research is needed to explore the mechanisms underlying the formation of these microhabitats,with the ultimate goal of restoring more high-quality habitats for the Spoonbilled Sandpiper.展开更多

Based on the monitoring data of air quality and conventional meteorological data in Shaoyang City,a severe pollution weather process in Shaoyang from December 25,2023 to January 1,2024 was analyzed from the aspects of...Based on the monitoring data of air quality and conventional meteorological data in Shaoyang City,a severe pollution weather process in Shaoyang from December 25,2023 to January 1,2024 was analyzed from the aspects of changes in pollutant concentration,circulation background,and changes in various meteorological elements.The results show that this severe pollution weather process was a compound pollution process caused by accumulation of local pollutants and transportation of external pollutants,during which the primary pollutant was PM_(2.5).During the accumulation stage,the ground was controlled by a uniform pressure field,and the conditions of atmospheric diffusion were poor.During the outbreak stage,the wind on the ground was from the northeast,which was conducive to the input of upstream pollution clusters into the city.Pollutant concentration was inversely correlated with daily average sea-level pressure,and positively correlated with daily average temperature.Wind speed and direction were closely related to PM_(2.5)concentration.During the accumulation stage,the ground was mainly dominated by weak winds,and the conditions of atmospheric diffusion were poor.During the outbreak stage,the continuous northeastward wind continuously transported upstream pollutants to Shaoyang area.Local pollutants accumulated in the previous stable weather process and the terrain led to the outbreak of local pollution.展开更多

Exis...In the age of information explosion and artificial intelligence, sentiment analysis tailored for the tobacco industry has emerged as a pivotal avenue for cigarette manufacturers to enhance their tobacco products. Existing solutions have primarily focused on intrinsic features within consumer reviews and achieved significant progress through deep feature extraction models. However, they still face these two key limitations: (1) neglecting the influence of fundamental tobacco information on analyzing the sentiment inclination of consumer reviews, resulting in a lack of consistent sentiment assessment criteria across thousands of tobacco brands;(2) overlooking the syntactic dependencies between Chinese word phrases and the underlying impact of sentiment scores between word phrases on sentiment inclination determination. To tackle these challenges, we propose the External Knowledge-enhanced Cross-Attention Fusion model, CITSA. Specifically, in the Cross Infusion Layer, we fuse consumer comment information and tobacco fundamental information through interactive attention mechanisms. In the Textual Attention Enhancement Layer, we introduce an emotion-oriented syntactic dependency graph and incorporate sentiment-syntactic relationships into consumer comments through a graph convolution network module. Subsequently, the Textual Attention Layer is introduced to combine these two feature representations. Additionally, we compile a Chinese-oriented tobacco sentiment analysis dataset, comprising 55,096 consumer reviews and 2074 tobacco fundamental information entries. Experimental results on our self-constructed datasets consistently demonstrate that our proposed model outperforms state-of-the-art methods in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score.展开更多

In this paper, we use a new optical hand tracking sensor, LeapMotion, to perform a non-contact demonstration for robotic systems. A Multi-LeapMotion hand tracking system is developed. The setup of the two sensors is analyzed to gain a optimal way for efficiently use the informations from the two sensors. Meanwhile, the coordinate systems of the Mult-LeapMotion hand tracking device and the robotic demonstration system are developed. With the recognition to the element actions and the delay calibration, the fusion principles are developed to get the improved and corrected gesture recognition. The gesture recognition and scenario experiments are carried out, and indicate the improvement of the proposed Multi-LeapMotion hand tracking system in tabletop object manipulation task for robotic demonstration.展开更多

Experimental results on our self-constructed datasets consistently demonstrate that our proposed model outperforms state-of-the-art methods in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score.

文摘In some complicated tabletop object manipulation task for robotic system, demonstration based control is an efficient way to enhance the stability of execution. In this paper, we use a new optical hand tracking sensor, LeapMotion, to perform a non-contact demonstration for robotic systems. A Multi-LeapMotion hand tracking system is developed. The setup of the two sensors is analyzed to gain a optimal way for efficiently use the informations from the two sensors. Meanwhile, the coordinate systems of the Mult-LeapMotion hand tracking device and the robotic demonstration system are developed. With the recognition to the element actions and the delay calibration, the fusion principles are developed to get the improved and corrected gesture recognition. The gesture recognition and scenario experiments are carried out, and indicate the improvement of the proposed Multi-LeapMotion hand tracking system in tabletop object manipulation task for robotic demonstration.
