We report the production of^(39)K and^(87)Rb Bose–Einstein condensates(BECs)in the lowest hyperfine states|F=1,m_(F)=1 simultaneously.We collect atoms in bright/dark magneto-optical traps(MOTs)of^(39)K/^(87)Rb to ove...We report the production of^(39)K and^(87)Rb Bose–Einstein condensates(BECs)in the lowest hyperfine states|F=1,m_(F)=1 simultaneously.We collect atoms in bright/dark magneto-optical traps(MOTs)of^(39)K/^(87)Rb to overcome the light-assisted losses of^(39)K atoms.Gray molasses cooling on the D1 line of the^(39)K is used to effectively increase the phase density,which improves the loading efficiency of^(39)K into the quadrupole magnetic trap.Simultaneously,the normal molasses is employed for^(87)Rb.After the microwave evaporation cooling on^(87)Rb in the optically plugged magnetic trap,the atoms mixture is transferred to a crossed optical dipole trap,where the collisional properties of the two species in different combinations of the hyperfine states are studied.The dual species BECs of^(39)K and^(87)Rb are obtained by further evaporative cooling in an optical dipole trap at a magnetic field of 372.6 G with the background repulsive interspecies scattering length a_(KRb)=34 a_(0)(a_(0)is the Bohr radius)and the intraspecies scattering length a_K=20.05 a_(0).展开更多

In the new design the structural complexity of the Booth encoder is reduced while the speed of the multiplier is improved. The adiabatic two's complement multiplier-accumulator(MAC) is furthermore a design based on the CTGAL. The computer simulation results indicate that the designed circuit has the correct logic function and remarkably less energy consumption compared to that of the MAC based on complementary metal oxide semiconductor(CMOS) logic.展开更多
BACKGROUND Although long-term retention of a ventilation tube is required in many ear diseases,spontaneous removal of conventional ventilation tube is observed in patients within 3 to 12 mo.To address this issue,we ai...BACKGROUND Although long-term retention of a ventilation tube is required in many ear diseases,spontaneous removal of conventional ventilation tube is observed in patients within 3 to 12 mo.To address this issue,we aimed to determine a new method for long-term retention of the ventilation tube.AIM To explore the value of removing the biofilm for long-term retention of tympanostomy ventilation tubes.METHODS A case-control study design was used to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of long-term tube retention by directly removing the biofilm(via surgical exfoliation)in patients who underwent myringotomy with ventilation tube placement.The patients were randomly divided into two groups:Control group and treatment group.Patients in the treatment group underwent regular biofilm exfoliation surgery in the clinic,whereas those in the control group did not have their biofilm removed.Only conventional ventilation tubes were placed in this study.Outcome measures were tube position and patency.Tube retention time and any complications were documented.RESULTS Eight patients with biofilm removal and eight patients without biofilm removal as a control group were enrolled in the study.The tympanostomy tube retention time was significantly longer in the treatment group(43.5±26.4 mo)than in the control group(9.5±6.9 mo)(P=0.003).More tympanostomy tubes were found to be patent and in correct position in the treatment group during the follow-up intervals than in the control group(P=0.01).CONCLUSION Despite the use of short-term ventilation tubes,direct biofilm removal can be a well-tolerated and effective treatment for long-term tube retention of tympanostomy ventilation tubes in patients who underwent myringotomy.展开更多
Valley filter is a promising device for producing valley polarized current in graphene-like two-dimensional honeycomb lattice materials.The relatively large spin-orbit coupling in silicene contributes to remarkable qu...Valley filter is a promising device for producing valley polarized current in graphene-like two-dimensional honeycomb lattice materials.The relatively large spin-orbit coupling in silicene contributes to remarkable quantum spin Hall effect,which leads to distinctive valley-dependent transport properties compared with intrinsic graphene.In this paper,quantized conductance and valley polarization in silicene nanoconstrictions are theoretically investigated in quantum spin-Hall insulator phase.Nearly perfect valley filter effect is found by aligning the gate voltage in the central constriction region.However,the valley polarization plateaus are shifted with the increase of spin-orbit coupling strength,accompanied by smooth variation of polarization reversal.Our findings provide new strategies to control the valley polarization in valleytronic devices.展开更多
We study the influence of the phase noises of far detuning single frequency lasers on the lifetime of Bose-Einstein condensation(BEC)of^(87)Rb in an optical dipole trap.As a comparison,we shine a continuous-wave s...We study the influence of the phase noises of far detuning single frequency lasers on the lifetime of Bose-Einstein condensation(BEC)of^(87)Rb in an optical dipole trap.As a comparison,we shine a continuous-wave singlefrequency Ti:sapphire laser,an external-cavity diode laser and a phase-locked diode laser on BEC.We measure the heating and lifetime of BEC in two different hyperfine states:|F=2,m_F=2〉and|F=1,m_F=1〉.Due to the narrow linewidth and small phase noise,the continuous-wave single-frequency Ti:sapphire laser has less influence on the lifetime of^(87)Rb BEC than the external-cavity diode laser.To reduce the phase noise of the external-cavity diode laser,we use an optical phase-locked loop for the external-cavity diode laser to be locked on a Ti:sapphire laser.The lifetime of BEC is increased when applfying the phase-Jocked diode laser in contrast with the external-cavity diode laser.展开更多
We report on the efficient creation of a sample of 2.2×10^(4)fermionic polar molecules^(23)Na^(40)K in their rovibrational ground state X^(1)∑^(+)|v=0,J=0>at 247 nK via an intermediate state of the spin-orbit...We report on the efficient creation of a sample of 2.2×10^(4)fermionic polar molecules^(23)Na^(40)K in their rovibrational ground state X^(1)∑^(+)|v=0,J=0>at 247 nK via an intermediate state of the spin-orbit coupled complex B^(1)Π|v=4〉~C^(3)∑^(+)|v=25〉.Compared with the intermediate state of the coupled complex B^(1)Π|v=12〉^(c)^(3)∑^(+)|v=35〉,this intermediate state has the larger Franck-Condon factors for up-and down-leg coupling of stimulated Raman adiabatic passage(STIRAP).We demonstrate this two-photon pathway to the^(23)Na^(40)K ground state molecules and find that the one-way STIRAP transfer efficiency reaches75%.The molecules^(23)Na^(40)K in their rovibrational ground state are an ideal candidate for the quantum simulation and quantum information of ultracold molecules with long-range interaction.展开更多
