The inconsistent findings concerning the effects of vitamin D supplementation on cardiometabolic risk factors and the large heterogeneity in the published literature call for further research to identify sources of he...The inconsistent findings concerning the effects of vitamin D supplementation on cardiometabolic risk factors and the large heterogeneity in the published literature call for further research to identify sources of heterogeneity and potential effect modifiers.We performed a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials(RCTs)published until March 2024 that reported estimates for the effects of vitamin D supplementation on cardiometabolic factors and relevant baseline covariates of RCT participants.A total of 17656 participants from 99 RCTs were analyzed,and weighted mean differences(95%confidence intervals(CI))for the intervention status were derived using random-effects modeling.Overall,compared with the placebo,vitamin D supplementation(median dose:3320 international unit(IU)·day^(-1);range 40-120000 IU·day^(-1))had favorable effects on systolic blood pressure(SBP;-2.04(95%CI,-3.50,-0.59)mmHg;1 mmHg=0.133 kPa),diastolic blood pressure(DBP;-3.00(95%CI,-3.61,-2.39)mmHg),total cholesterol(TC;-0.12(95%CI,-0.21,-0.03)mmol·L^(-1)),fasting blood glucose(FBG;-0.13(95%CI,-0.20,-0.05)mmol·L^(-1)),hemoglobin A1C(A1C;-0.09%(95%CI,-0.13%,-0.05%)),and fasting blood insulin(FBI:-7.61(95%CI,-11.93,-3.30)pmol·L^(-1)).The benefits of vitamin D were most evident in trials performed in non-Westerners,participants with baseline 25-hydroxyvitamin D(25[OH]D)lower than 15.0 ng·mL^(-1),non-obese(body mass index(BMI)<30 kg·m^(-2)),and older(age-50 years).The findings of this study underscore the need for personalized vitamin D intervention strategies that comprehensively account for individual patient characteristics(such as ethnocultural background,age,BMI,and circulating 25[OH]D level),intervention dosage,and intervention duration to optimize cardiometabolic health outcomes.展开更多
Semantic segmentation in the context of 3D point clouds for the railway environment holds a significant economic value,but its development is severely hindered by the lack of suitable and specific datasets.Additionall...Semantic segmentation in the context of 3D point clouds for the railway environment holds a significant economic value,but its development is severely hindered by the lack of suitable and specific datasets.Additionally,the models trained on existing urban road point cloud datasets demonstrate poor generalisation on railway data due to a large domain gap caused by non-overlapping special/rare categories,for example,rail track,track bed etc.To harness the potential of supervised learning methods in the domain of 3D railway semantic segmentation,we introduce RailPC,a new point cloud benchmark.RailPC provides a large-scale dataset with rich annotations for semantic segmentation in the railway environment.Notably,RailPC contains twice the number of annotated points compared to the largest available mobile laser scanning(MLS)point cloud dataset and is the first railway-specific 3D dataset for semantic segmentation.It covers a total of nearly 25 km railway in two different scenes(urban and mountain),with 3 billion points that are finely labelled as 16 most typical classes with respect to railway,and the data acquisition process is completed in China by MLS systems.Through extensive experimentation,we evaluate the performance of advanced scene understanding methods on the annotated dataset and present a synthetic analysis of semantic segmentation results.Based on our findings,we establish some critical challenges towards railway-scale point cloud semantic segmentation.The dataset is available at https://github.com/NNU-GISA/GISA-RailPC,and we will continuously update it based on community feedback.展开更多
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of artemisinin against proteinuria and glomerular filtration barrier damage in rats with adriamycin-induced nephropathy,and the potential mechanism underpinned the action.METHODS:F...OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of artemisinin against proteinuria and glomerular filtration barrier damage in rats with adriamycin-induced nephropathy,and the potential mechanism underpinned the action.METHODS:Forty adriamycin rats were randomly divided into two groups with the ratio of 1︰3;the small-number group served as control group(n=10),and the rats in the large-number group were treated with adriamycin to induce nephropathy;then they were further randomly assigned into 3subgroups:benazepril group(n=10),artemisiningroup(n=10),and adriamycin group(n=10).The benazepril group and artemisinin group were treated with benazepril suspl(5.0 mg/kg daily)and artemisinin suspl(150 mg/kg daily)respectively after being modeled;those in the control group and adriamycin group were intragastrically administered an equivalent volume of distilled water every day.The treatment after model establishment lasted for a total of 4 weeks.The 24 h uric protein,blood biochemicals,renal pathological changes,renal ultrastrutural changes,Nephrin and Podocin proteins and gene expressions were measured by Coomassie brilliant blue assay,completely automatic biochemical analyzer,light microscope,electron microscopy,Western blot and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction,respectively.RESULTS:The rats in adriamycin group showed a significant increase in 24 h uric protein excretion,serum total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),serum creatinine(Scr)and decrease in albumin(Alb)(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Compared with adriamycin group,artemisinin could reduce uric protein excretion,decrease the serum TC,TG elevation,increase the serum Alb level,up-regulate the expressions of Nephrin and Podocin(P<0.05 or P<0.01),but no statistical significance effects on the levels of BUN,Scr in artemisinin group(P>0.05).The renal pathological and ultrastrutural observation indicate that artemisinin could attenuate the severity of foot process effacement and fusion in the nephropathic rats.CONCLUSION:Artemisinin might have an effect on the nephropathy in rats caused by adriamycin,which may be at least partly correlated with attenu-ation of the severity of foot process effacement and fusion,up-regulation of the expressions of Nephrin and Podocin in the glomeruli in the rats.展开更多

The prepared DA-Fe304 nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, and vibrating sample magnetometer. The results indicated that the resulting DA-Fe304 nanoparticles had an average diameter of about 19.2 nm. The magnetic saturation value of the prepared DA-Fe304 nanoparticles was determined to be 72.87 emu/g, which indicating a well- established superparamagnetic property.展开更多

Results showed that single eye stimulation resulted in bilateral visual cortex activation in patients with glaucoma or large pituitary adenoma. Compared with the normal control group, the extent and intensity of visual cortex activation was decreased after left and right eye stimulation, and functional magnetic resonance imaging revealed a correlation between visual field defects and visual cortex activation in patients with glaucoma and large pituitary adenoma. These functional magnetic resonance imaging data suggest that anterior optic pathway lesions can cause secondary functional disorder of the visual cortex, and that visual defects are correlated with visual cortex activation.展开更多

This study aimed to evaluate the prognosis of pulmonary sequestration (PS) by measuring congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation volume ratio (CVR) value in fetal congenital PS.The fetal CVR in 49 cases of fetal PS ...This study aimed to evaluate the prognosis of pulmonary sequestration (PS) by measuring congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation volume ratio (CVR) value in fetal congenital PS.The fetal CVR in 49 cases of fetal PS diagnosed by prenatal ultrasound in Xiangyang No.1 People's Hospital from March 2010 to June 2017 were measured,and the clinical outcomes were observed.According to the prenatal ultrasound CVR value,49 fetuses diagnosed with PS were divided into 2 groups:group 1 with CVR>1.26,and group 2 with CVR<1.26.The incidence rate of fetal edema,respiratory distress symptoms and survival rate were compared between the two groups.The risk factors of the fetal PS were evaluated by single and multiple Logistic regression analysis.The correlation between CVR and fetal prognosis was analyzed.Of the 49 fetuses,there were 34 cases of PS (ILS) type (69.39%,34/49),10 cases of PS (ELS) type I (20.41%,10/49) and 5 cases of PS (ELS) type II (10.20%,5/49).Forty-six cases (93.88%,46/49) were bom alive,there was 1 case (CVR >1.26)(2.04%,1/4刃 of induced abortion,and 2 cases (CVR >1.26)(4.08%,2/49) of stillbirths.In group 1 (w=24),21 cases were bom alive,and the incidence rate of newborn respiratory distress and fetal edema was 100%(21/21) and 79.17%(19/24) respectively.In group 2 (n=25),there were 3 cases (12%,3/25) of newborn respiratory distress,3 cases (12%,3/25) of fetal edema,and the rate of live birth was 100%.There were statistically significant differences between the two groups in the incidence of fetal edema,postpartum respiratory symptoms and survival rate.CVR was a risk factor for PS and was associated with fetal prognosis.CVR in the midtrimester of pregnancy is an effective index to evaluate the prognosis of fetal PS.CVR≥1.26 is associated with an increased risk of fetal edema,infant respiratory distress and intrauterine or postnatal death.展开更多
Gamma-Ray Integrated Detectors(GRID)mis-sion is a student project designed to use multiple gamma-ray detectors carried by nanosatellites(CubeSats),forming a full-time all-sky gamma-ray detection network that monitors ...Gamma-Ray Integrated Detectors(GRID)mis-sion is a student project designed to use multiple gamma-ray detectors carried by nanosatellites(CubeSats),forming a full-time all-sky gamma-ray detection network that monitors the transient gamma-ray sky in the multi-mes-senger astronomy era.A compact CubeSat gamma-ray detector,including its hardware and firmware,was designed and implemented for the mission.The detector employs four Gd 2 Al 2 Ga 3 O 12:Ce(GAGG:Ce)scintillators coupled with four silicon photomultiplier(SiPM)arrays to achieve a high gamma-ray detection efficiency between 10 keV and 2 MeV with low power and small dimensions.The first detector designed by the undergraduate student team onboard a commercial CubeSat was launched into a Sun-synchronous orbit on October 29,2018.The detector was in a normal observation state and accumulated data for approximately one month after on-orbit functional and performance tests,which were conducted in 2019.展开更多
