The power is generated by diesel engine and wind turbine as prime movers with electrical power conversion by permanent-magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) and permanent-magnet induction generator (PMIG) respectively. The mathematical model of the system developed is based on reactive power flow equations. A new methodology combining soil survey indices with available nutrien...Soil Informatics, the GIS-based decision-support system, helps to establish the potentials and limitations of different soils for crop production. A new methodology combining soil survey indices with available nutrients (P and K) was developed to evaluate soil productivity. Physiographic-soil map was generated by interpretation of IRS 1C/1D LISS III satellite data and soil survey in an agricultural region of Punjab, India. Georeferenced surface (0 m - 0.15 m) soil samples were collected from 267 sites using Global Positioning System (GPS). Available P (Olsen P) content varied from 5.49 kg?ha–1 to 67.0 kg?ha–1 and available K (1N NH4OAc extractable K) from 44.8 kg?ha–1 to 784 kg?ha–1. The nutrient maps (P and K) generated using ArcGIS clearly point out the specific locales where deficiency of nutrients constrained crop production. Multi nutrient (PK) map indicated that the combined P and K deficiency at a single place was negligible. The productivity index was computed by taking into account soil texture and available nutrients to evaluate the productivity of soils in each mapping unit. This approach is proposed as a method for the evaluation of sustainable soil management.展开更多

We repor...Blunt traumatic injuries to the superior gluteal artery are rare in clinic. A majority of injuries present as aneurysms following penetrating trauma, fracture pelvis or posterior dislocation of the hip joint. We reported a rare case of superior gluteal artery pseudoaneurysm following blunt trauma presenting as large expanding right gluteal hematoma without any bony injury. The gluteal hematoma was suspected clinically, confirmed by ultrasound and the arterial injury was diagnosed by CT angiography that revealed a large right gluteal hematoma with a focal contrast leakage forming a pseudoaneurysm within the hematoma. Pseudoaneurysm arose from the superior gluteal branch of right internal iliac artery, which was successfully angioembolized. The patient was discharged on day 4 of hospitalization with resolving gluteal hematoma. This report highlighted the importance of considering an arterial injury following blunt trauma to the buttocks with subsequent painful swelling. Acknowledgment of this rare injury pattern was necessary to facilitate rapid diagnosis and appropriate treatment.展开更多

Moreover the pollution of water resources has dramatic...Water scarcity is not a new issue, neither is water pollution. While 70% of the earth's surface is covered with water, only 3% of it is available as fresh water. Moreover the pollution of water resources has dramatically increased the problem of water scarcity over the last century. Bioremediation presents a cheap and effective solution of this problem. In particular, halophiles have been found to be effective in hypersaline wastewater treatment. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a nonlinear mathematical model to study the removal of a pollutant using halophiles in the hypersaline environment. The analysis of the model is being carried out using stability theory of differential equations. The results indicate that halophiles not only help in removing the organic pollutant, but also help in conversion of saline water into fresh water. The numerical simulations along with sensitivity analysis are performed to support the analytical results.展开更多
