This study aims to observe the cerebral angiogenesis effects of BYHWD on chronic brain injury after focal cerebral ischemia in rats and to explore its possible mechanisms. The ischemia was induced by occlusion of the right middle cerebral artery for 90 min. BYHWD (12.5 and 25.0 g/(kg.d), equivalent to the dry weight of the raw materials) was orally administered twice a day beginning 2 h after surgery. BYHWD significantly attenuated the neurological dysfunction, infarct volume, and brain atrophy after ischemia. There was a significant increase in the microvessel density, as assessed by immunofluorescence CD31, and a significant increase in angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1) in the pe- numbra areas of the rats was shown by immunohistochemical staining and Western blotting. The results indicate that the neurorestorative effects of BYHWD are associated with angiogenesis and the enhancement of the expressions of Ang-1 on chronic brain injury after focal cerebral ischemia.展开更多
Algae play a significant role in regulating the biogeochemical cycle of mercury(Hg),particularly its highly toxicform,methylmercury(MeHg),within wetlands and lakes.However,despite their widespread presence in paddyfield...Algae play a significant role in regulating the biogeochemical cycle of mercury(Hg),particularly its highly toxicform,methylmercury(MeHg),within wetlands and lakes.However,despite their widespread presence in paddyfields,their specific effects on MeHg dynamics are not yet fully understood.This study investigated the algae-mediated distribution and accumulation of MeHg in Hg-contaminated paddyfields,utilizingfield investigationand microcosm experiment.The results indicated that algae demonstrated a multi-source uptake pattern and hada high capacity to accumulate both total Hg(926±1.69 ng/g)and MeHg(83.6±1.12 ng/g).This accumulationwas predominantly characterized by inorganic Hg species,accounting for 88.4%.Algal capsular extracellularpolymeric substance(EPS)exhibited higher levels of labile organic fractions,such as cysteine(0.59±0.01μg/g),and increased MeHg concentration(84.2±4.51 ng/kg),which contrasted with the levels found in colloidal EPS(0.06±0.01 ng/g and 15.0±1.61 ng/kg).Meanwhile,a significant correlation(P<0.05)was observed betweenthiol-containing cysteine and MeHg concentrations in algal EPS.Algal incubation further revealed the formationof mineral-EPS-algae aggregates on algal surfaces,accompanied by the colonization of Hg-methylating bacteria.Therefore,the surface of algae may form a favorable matrix for microbial Hg methylation and the accumulationof MeHg.Thesefindings emphasize the crucial roles of algae in regulating MeHg dynamics within algae-watersystem in Hg-contaminated paddyfields.展开更多

In this paper,a terahertz slotted waveguide array antenna is designed based on photonic crystal,which can realize efficient radiation of terahertz waves.The electromagnetic wave is fed from the rectangular waveguide a...In this paper,a terahertz slotted waveguide array antenna is designed based on photonic crystal,which can realize efficient radiation of terahertz waves.The electromagnetic wave is fed from the rectangular waveguide at the bottom of the antenna,coupled to photonic crystal waveguide through photonic crystal cavity,and radiated outward through slots at the top layer of antenna.The simulation results show that the antenna achieves a peak gain of 13.45 dBi at 360 GHz,a half-power beam width of 10.9°,and a side lobe level of−13.9 dB.The antenna based on photonic crystal has the advantages of low profile,low loss,and high radiation efficiency,which can be applied to terahertz wireless communication systems.展开更多
With the development of vanadium redox flow battery technology,the demand for pure vanadium is rapidly increasing.The separation of vanadium from vanadium-chromium leaching solutions are critical step in the productio...With the development of vanadium redox flow battery technology,the demand for pure vanadium is rapidly increasing.The separation of vanadium from vanadium-chromium leaching solutions are critical step in the production of purity-vanadium.This study presents an innovative adsorption process that utilizes amorphous ZrO_(2)(AZrO) for the selective separation of V(Ⅴ) and Cr(Ⅵ).In this process,a high adsorption capacity for V(V) at 64.5 mg·g^(-1) was achieved,while the capacity for Cr(Ⅵ) is relatively low at 24.1 mg·g^(-1),demonstrating good separation performance.This is mainly caused by the large specific surface area and mesoporous structure,which are favorable for molecular diffusion and mass transfer.The kinetic analysis shows that the adsorption process follows pseudo-second-order kinetic process with chemisorption being the rate-controlling process.AZrO showed excellent separation performance in mixed solutions over a wide range of concentrations.After five cycles,AZrO retained over 73% of its capacity,indicating good stability.In mixed solutions containing up to 40 g·L^(-1) of V(Ⅴ) and 3 g·L^(-1) of Cr(Ⅵ),the innovative adsorption process successfully achieved effective separation and purification.By an adsorption-desorption process using 0.1 mol·L^(-1) NaOH,a 99.02% V(Ⅴ)-rich solution was obtained from a high concentration sodium vanadium slag leaching solution,demonstrating its effectiveness for practical industrial applications.展开更多
