Objective:To determine the effect of climatic and environmental factors on the incidence of cutaneous leishmaniasis in Qom province in 2018.Methods:In this cross-sectional study, the data on cutaneous leishmaniasis incidence were collected from the Disease Control and Prevention Center in Qom province.Climatic and environmental data including Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI),Land Surface Temperature(LST),and soil moisture were extracted using satellite images.Data of altitude and sunny hours were provided based on shuttle radar topography mission digital elevation model and hemispherical viewshed algorithm, respectively. The associations of climatic and environmental variables with the incidence of the disease were analyzed by Pearson correlation method. The Arc GIS 10.3 software was used to determine the geographical distribution of these factors. Results:There were positive correlations between cutaneous leishmaniasis incidence and the two climatic factors:LST and sunny hours per day(P=0.041,P=0.016),and it had weak negative correlations with the digital elevation model(P=0.27),soil moisture(P=0.54),and NDVI(P=0.62).The time delay analysis showed that in one-,two-,and three month periods, the correlations increased with a 95%confidence interval.Accordingly, the correlation with the three-month time delay was positive and relatively strong between the cutaneous leishmaniasis incidence and LST and sunny hours(P=0.027,P=0.02);nevertheless,there were negative correlations between the cutaneous leishmaniasis incidence and the soil moisture(P=0.27)and NDVI(P=0.62).Conclusions:As Qom is located in one of the semi-arid climate zones, topography and solar energy are important factors affecting the incidence of cutaneous leishmaniasis in autumn. Therefore, appropriate disease control programs are recommended. 展开更多

The outbreak of respiratory diseases, such as COVID-19 and influenza, has drawn global attention. However,it remains unclear whether the risk of influenza A infection may be affected by the history of SARS-CoV-2 infection. In this study,we conducted a test-negative case-control study, and utilized a logistic regression model to analyze the relationship between SARS-CoV-2 and influenza A infections.Among 258 eligible patient samples with influenza-like illness(ILI),we did not detect a statistically significant association between the history of SARS-CoV-2 infection and the risk of influenza A infection. These findings might indicate that antibodies against COVID-19 acquired through vaccination or natural immunity have not protected against influenza. 展开更多

Breast cancer,an unceasingly occurring neoplasm,is one of the major determinants of mortality in women.Several ineffective attempts have been pursued using with conventional therapies against breast cancer.Resistance to existing therapies and their respective debilitating adverse effects have led research toward a new era of cancer treatment using viruses.Virotherapy constitutes a developing treatment modality with multiple mechanisms of therapeutic activity in which the viruses can be directly oncolyticand can express transgenes or induce host immune response against tumor cells.Several different DNA-and RNA-containing viruses have been considered for virotherapy of breast cancer including adenovirus, herpes virus, vaccinia, reovirus,Newcastle Disease virus, measles virus and vesicular stomatitis virus. This review aims to summarize the viro-therapeutical agents against breast malignancies.Key Scientific Concepts of Review:In this review paper,we proposed a new strategy to virus's combinatorial treatments using several kinds of transgenes and drugs. These recombinant viruses have provided evidence of treatment efficacy against human breast cancer. 展开更多
