Due to low immobilized ligand density,limited binding capacity,and severe interference from serum proteins,developing ideal peptide-based biomaterials for precise recognition and in vivo analysis of biopharmaceuticals...Due to low immobilized ligand density,limited binding capacity,and severe interference from serum proteins,developing ideal peptide-based biomaterials for precise recognition and in vivo analysis of biopharmaceuticals remains a huge challenge.In this study,mimotope peptide modified pompon mum-like biomimetic magnetic microparticles(MMPs,3.8μm)that mimic the specific functionalities of CD20 on malignant B cells were developed for the first time.Benefit from the numerous ligand binding sites(Ni^(2+))on the pompon mum-like MMPs,these novel materials achieved≥10 times higher peptide ligand densities(>2300 mg/g)and antibody binding capacities(1380 mg/g)compared to previous reported biomaterials.Leveraging the high specificity of the mimotope peptide,rituximab can be precisely recognized and enriched from cell culture media or serum samples.We also established an LC-MS/MS method using the MMPs for tracking rituximab biotransformation in patient serum.Intriguingly,deamidation of Asn55 and Asn33,as well as oxidation of Met81 and Met34 were observed at the key complementarity determining regions of rituximab,which could potentially influence antibody function and require careful monitoring.Overall,these versatile biomimetic MMPs demonstrate superior recognition and enrichment capabilities for target antibodies,offering interesting possibilities for biotransformation analysis of biopharmaceuticals in patient serum.展开更多

The high acidity and poor taste of some citrus juice(CJ)affect its application value.In this study,a Hanseniaspora pseudoguilliermondii B4 was isolated and identified from lemon which could effectively degrade organic...The high acidity and poor taste of some citrus juice(CJ)affect its application value.In this study,a Hanseniaspora pseudoguilliermondii B4 was isolated and identified from lemon which could effectively degrade organic acids in CJ.Seven lactic acid bacteria(LAB)were selected to coferment with B4 in sequential and simultaneous inocu-lation on CJ to improve its taste and nutritional value.The physicochemical parameters,total phenolic content(TPC),total flavonoid content(TFC)and antioxidant activity were evaluated before and after mixed fermenta-tion.The results revealed that cofermentation with B4 and Bifidobacterium lactis 20435 could not only decreased acidity by 96.05%but also increased TPC,TFC,DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activity by 22.54%,25.42%,34.47%and 52.63%,respectively.In addition,3-methyl-1-butanol,2-methyl-1-butanol and phenylethyl alcohol were significantly(p<0.05)increased,while terpenes were mostly decreased,compared to unfermented juice.The ester content increased and enhanced the flavor compounds of fermented CJ.This work provides a new strategy of using H.pseudoguilliermondii and LAB to adjust the acidity and taste of CJ as well as improve its bioactive substances and antioxidant activity.展开更多
Purpose:Taking a particular example of an international partnership programme,this article aims to discuss kindergartens’participation in international partnership programmes as compelling vehicles for promoting earl...Purpose:Taking a particular example of an international partnership programme,this article aims to discuss kindergartens’participation in international partnership programmes as compelling vehicles for promoting early childhood education for sustainability(ECEfS).The partnership programme included Western Norway University of Applied Sciences,Beijing Normal University,East China Normal University,and kindergartens in Norway and China.Researchers,postgraduate students,kindergarten principals,and teachers participated in the programme,their key concern being to promote competencies for sustainability and agents for change.Design/Approach/Methods:The article is based upon research with a phenomenological approach to Chinese and Norwegian kindergarten teachers’and principals’experiences of participating in an international partnership programme.The data for this article consisted of reflective notes from the teachers and principals and recordings of teachers’and principals’reflections in a joint seminar in the kindergarten network.Findings:This article argues that ethical normative,dialogical,and anticipatory approaches are pivotal within international ECEfS partnership programmes.Originality/Value:The article has the potential to address international partnership programmes,involving different stakeholders,as vital in promoting ECEfS.It also urges international partnership programmes to promote glocality in ECEfS(i.e.,local situatedness with global awareness).展开更多
