Volatile organic chemicals(VOC)have been identified as hazardous pollutants impairing human health. While whether the VOC exposure was associated with hyperuricemia is yet clarified. All the data was acquired from 6 survey cycles of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(NHANES)program(2005–2006,2011–2012,2013–2014,2015–2016,2017–2018,2017–2020).Hyperuricemia was defined as a serum uric acid(SUA)concentration exceeding 7 mg/mL in men or 6 mg/mL in women.Three quantile logistic regression modelswith varied covariateswere developed to analyze the correlation between hyperuricemia and volatile organic chemical metabolites(VOCs)in urine, and three quantile linear regression models were used for examining the correlation between VOCs and SUA.N-acetyl-S-(2-carboxyethyl)-l-cysteine(CEMA),N-acetyl-S-(3,4-dihydroxybutyl)-l-cysteine(DHBM),and phenylglyoxylic acid(PHGA)were identified to associated positively with increased hyperuricemia risk and uric acid level.Meanwhile, the weighted quantile sum(WQS)model suggested a positive association between VOCs exposure and hyperuricemia. These data indicate that VOC exposure potentially increases hyperuricemia risk, necessitating policies to mitigate VOC exposure. 展开更多

Generative Artificial Intelligence(GAI)is attracting the increasing attention of materials community for its excellent capability of generating required contents. With the introduction of Prompt paradigm and reinforcement learning from human feedback(RLHF),GAI shifts from the task-specific to general pattern gradually, enabling to tackle multiple complicated tasks involved in resolving the structure-activity relationships. Here,we review the development status of GAI comprehensively and analyze pros and cons of various generative models in the view of methodology. The applications of task-specific generative models involving materials inverse design and data augmentation are also dissected.Taking ChatGPT as an example,we explore the potential applications of general GAI in generating multiple materials content, solving differential equation as well as querying materials FAQs.Furthermore,we summarize six challenges encountered for the use of GAI in materials science and provide the corresponding solutions. This work paves the way for providing effective and explainable materials data generation and analysis approaches to accelerate the materials research and development. 展开更多

The chemokine thymus-expressed chemokine(TECK),which regulates T-cell development and tissue-specific homing, has been identified as a potential contributor to the pathogenesis and progression of endometriosis.Dioxin(2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin,TCDD),an air pollutant, and estrogen also appear to be involved in endometriosis. Both endometrial stromal cells(ESCs)and the combination of 17b-estradiol and TCDD increase the secretion of TECK in the endometriosis-associated cells and promote the invasiveness of ESCs by increasing expression of matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-2 and MMP-9.Anti-TECK neutralizing antibodies can effectively inhibit the invasiveness of ESCs and the expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in the cells.Interestingly, the expression of chemokine C receptor 9(CCR9)and its ligand TECK increases significantly in the endometriotic milieu of patients with endometriosis. Therefore, the over-expressed TECK interacts with CCR9 on the ESCs in the endometriotic milieu, which may contribute to the onset and progression of endometriosis. 展开更多
