Multi-Feature Fragile Image Watermarking Algorithm for Tampering Blind-Detection and Content Self-Recovery

Digital watermarking technology plays an important role in detecting malicious tampering and protecting image copyright.However,in practical applications,this technology faces various problems such as severe image distortion,inaccurate localization of the tampered regions,and difficulty in recovering content.Given these shortcomings,a fragile image watermarking algorithm for tampering blind-detection and content self-recovery is proposed.The multi-feature watermarking authentication code(AC)is constructed using texture feature of local binary patterns(LBP),direct coefficient of discrete cosine transform(DCT)and contrast feature of gray level co-occurrence matrix(GLCM)for detecting the tampered region,and the recovery code(RC)is designed according to the average grayscale value of pixels in image blocks for recovering the tampered content.Optimal pixel adjustment process(OPAP)and least significant bit(LSB)algorithms are used to embed the recovery code and authentication code into the image in a staggered manner.When detecting the integrity of the image,the authentication code comparison method and threshold judgment method are used to perform two rounds of tampering detection on the image and blindly recover the tampered content.Experimental results show that this algorithm has good transparency,strong and blind detection,and self-recovery performance against four types of malicious attacks and some conventional signal processing operations.When resisting copy-paste,text addition,cropping and vector quantization under the tampering rate(TR)10%,the average tampering detection rate is up to 94.09%,and the peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR)of the watermarked image and the recovered image are both greater than 41.47 and 40.31 dB,which demonstrates its excellent advantages compared with other related algorithms in recent years. 展开更多

Modeling the Interaction between Vacancies and Grain Boundaries during Ductile Fracture

The experimental results in previous studies have indicated that during the ductile fracture of pure metals,vacancies aggregate and form voids at grain boundaries.However,the physical mechanism underlying this phenomenon remains not fully understood.This study derives the equilibrium distribution of vacancies analytically by following thermodynamics and the micromechanics of crystal defects.This derivation suggests that vacancies cluster in regions under hydrostatic compression to minimize the elastic strain energy.Subsequently,a finite element model is developed for examining more general scenarios of interaction between vacancies and grain boundaries.This model is first verified and validated through comparison with some available analytical solutions,demonstrating consistency between finite element simulation results and analytical solutions within a specified numerical accuracy.A systematic numerical study is then conducted to investigate the mechanism that might govern the micromechanical interaction between grain boundaries and the profuse vacancies typically generated during plastic deformation.The simulation results indicate that the reduction in total elastic strain energy can indeed drive vacancies toward grain boundaries,potentially facilitating void nucleation in ductile fracture. 展开更多

Background A medical content-based image retrieval(CBIR)system is designed to retrieve images from large imaging repositories that are visually similar to a user′s query image.CBIR is widely used in evidence-based diagnosis,teaching,and research.Although the retrieval accuracy has largely improved,there has been limited development toward visualizing important image features that indicate the similarity of retrieved images.Despite the prevalence of 3D volumetric data in medical imaging such as computed tomography(CT),current CBIR systems still rely on 2D cross-sectional views for the visualization of retrieved images.Such 2D visualization requires users to browse through the image stacks to confirm the similarity of the retrieved images and often involves mental reconstruction of 3D information,including the size,shape,and spatial relations of multiple structures.This process is time-consuming and reliant on users'experience.Methods In this study,we proposed an importance-aware 3D volume visualization method.The rendering parameters were automatically optimized to maximize the visibility of important structures that were detected and prioritized in the retrieval process.We then integrated the proposed visualization into a CBIR system,thereby complementing the 2D cross-sectional views for relevance feedback and further analyses.Results Our preliminary results demonstrate that 3D visualization can provide additional information using multimodal positron emission tomography and computed tomography(PETCT)images of a non-small cell lung cancer dataset. 展开更多

Integrated coupled optoelectronic oscillator for ultra-low-noise and ultra-wideband tunable microwave generation

Ultra-low-noise microwave signals play a driving role in the development of modern scientific technologies such as radar,communication,and sensing.On-chip photonic integration provides an attractive approach for the implementation of ultra-low-noise microwave signal sources with attractive added advantages of being compact and lightweight,which are vitally important for real-world applications.Coupled optoelectronic oscillators(COEOs)with a hybrid structure of an optical loop and an optoelectronic loop are high-performance microwave photonic signal sources,which feature a unique advantage over conventional single-loop OEOs since they can achieve ultra-low phase noise with a relatively short cavity length.Here we report a wideband tunable ultra-lownoise integrated COEO(ICOEO),which is realized by integrating its key optoelectronic components(electrooptic modulator,photodetector,optical filter,etc.)on silicon-on-insulator(SOI).A wideband frequency tuning range from 2 GHz to 30 GHz is obtained,covering the entire S,C,X,Ku,and K bands.The phase noise is as low as−132 dBc/Hz@10 kHz,which is 19 dB better than that of the single-loop OEO with a similar cavity length.We also improved the long-term stability of the ICOEO by injection locking,and the Allan deviation of the produced microwave signal reaches 10^(−12)@1 s.The high-performance ICOEO can find a wide range of applications including modern radar,electronic warfare,and communication systems. 展开更多
